FFF: the RP

Seriously. This place gives me the creep. I mean, there is absolutely no one. We're in some business district, its daylight, but its completely deserted. It wouldn't be surprising if something rushed us from an alleyway or something.

Ryu had a good point. What kind of office building was deserted in the middle of a workday? As Azzie descended the stairs with him and Yumi, she started to feel a bit nervous; she found herself intermittently glancing back up the stairwell behind them to make sure they weren't being followed, or that some strange person or creature wasn't clinging to the ceiling waiting for them to let their guard down. Her mind raced as she sought to remember some of the best moves she'd learned in fencing class, but it was no use unless she could actually try them out, and test her muscle memory. And now was not the time.

When they finally arrived at the ground floor and stepped outside onto the main street, she wasn't sure whether to be relieved or more anxious. They were now in a huge, unprotected, open space, where the road went on forever in either direction and a forest of unfamiliar buildings towered over them. Azzie put a hand up to shield her eyes from the sun as she gazed up at some of them, finding no signs or other helpful pieces of information on any of them. She lowered her eyes again as Ryu spoke up.

Right. Which way was the scream again?

Azzie tried to remember the direction it had come from; she thought it had been from the right as she was facing the window, but she wasn't sure; plus, they might have gotten a bit turned around going around in circles in the stairwell. She raised an eyebrow, and pointed hesitantly in the most likely direction. "I think it was that way," she mused, "though I'm not positive." She peered through the buildings to try to see what was in that direction, but the city was so haphazardly cluttered that it was hard to tell. "Shall we investigate?"

Orion shook Raiiku's hand.

"Nice to meet you. We'll have to save for chatting later. Unless you enjoy being attacked by creatures that look like they belong in the seven circles of hell."

Orion always had a way with words.

Orion's spear was brought back up, only to point at the sky, as he advanced forward to catch up with Gavin. He also commented to the girl and boy.

"It would be nice to know your names. Though anonymity is fine and all, I doubt we're leaving any time soon, and it would be best if we all knew each other. Leads to less arguing and such later at a critical moment."

Orion was a very nice, polite, and civilized person. However, he couldn't say the same for the others, specially since the girl knew how to shoot very accurately. (Shooting a gun is harder then it looks. I've done it before.) As such, he decided it was best to stay on their good side for as long as possible.

And of course, kill everything in this place as soon as possible so he didn't have to deal with it later. Minus the humans that didn't try to kill him.

Yumiko arrived at the bottom of the staircase and walked out the door. She instantly felt the cool, yet still air. There was something strange about the place, " No signs of life..." she murmured almost to herself. Her chocolate eyes grazed the area before them.

"Seriously. This place gives me the creep. I mean, there is absolutely no one. We're in some business district, its daylight, but its completely deserted. It wouldn't be surprising if something rushed us from an alleyway or something."

Yumi glanced over at Ryu, " There's a lot of truth in that," she said, turning back to scan the landscape once more. If there was anybody hiding, it would probably better to ambush them before they could get to the group. The tiny girl bounced ahead to see if she could hear anything else to lead them in the direction of the scream, her hand steady on her gun in case she would need it.

" I think it was that way, though I'm not positive. Shall we investigate?" Azzie's words floated over to Yumi, who was wandering ahead to scope the areas up ahead for the group. The girl looked over her shoulder to see where Azzie suggested for them to go, " Yeah... let's go..." Yumi said, slightly hesitant, " These buildings look the same from down here... not that it looked much different from above... but at least we would be able to find a landmark if we're on higher ground."

The sun casted looming shadows of the large buildings over the group, and as they walked further into the cloister of buildings, the less light there was streaming through the buildings. The area was darker, damper, and colder. It looked as if the sun hadn't touched the place for years, even. Yumi swiveled her head from side to side, " It's too quiet..." she said, " Are you guys sure the scream came from this way?"

Gavin spun the knife he had grabbed on his way off in his hand, watching the light spin off it onto the walls surrounding the alley he was now walking down. There was something hypnotic in it; there always had been. A hand took the blade from him and spun him around. "You're not thinking about that, are you?" Raiiku asked him.

"Not at all. I wouldn't want to hurt you," he answered, shifting slightly. Raiiku's other hand grabbed his arm and pulled it out. The wound from the zombie had a sick look to it, like the start of an infection. "You're hurting me by not taking care of that..." Raiiku murmured, ripping off the lower edge of his shirt and using it to bind up the wound.

Gavin watched as Raiiku took care of him, almost like things were back to normal. Raiiku lifted Gavin's chin with a finger to look directly into his eyes. "You tell me if it starts to change, okay?" Gavin looked behind Raiiku, seeing no one there. He took the moment of privacy to kiss Raiiku. "Don't worry. I will." He continued walking down the alley into the next street.

Yeah... let's go...These buildings look the same from down here... not that it looked much different from above... but at least we would be able to find a landmark if we're on higher ground.

Yumi had a good point; they really should try to find someplace that stood out from the rest to try to identify the city if they could, or at least the area that they were in, so that they wouldn't get lost. And after what Ryu had said about things jumping out from alleyways, Azzie was beginning to feel uncomfortable standing in one place for too long.

As they made their way through the network of buildings and shaded streets, it seemed less and less sun was creeping down to the ground level, and there was a noticeable chill and dampness in the air around them. Yumi was the first to make mention of the eerie silence of the place.

It's too quiet...Are you guys sure the scream came from this way?

Azzie tried to picture what way she would've been facing when the scream happened compared to where they were now. They had taken so many turns since they'd left the first building, though, that it was becoming hard to tell. "I was beginning to wonder about that too," she said uneasily, feeling paranoia take over as she found herself glancing behind and above herself more and more often. "We haven't run into anyone this whole time, and that scream was pretty loud. I don't think they could've been much farther away than this, if this is the right direction."

Her eyes suddenly caught movement a few stories up the facade of one of the buildings next to them. Three small, pale-grey things were clinging to the outside of the building just below the windowsill, and as soon as she'd spotted them, they immediately let go of it and started swooping down towards the group, on wings that looked rather scaly and batlike. The creatures were almost humanoid, with long limbs that seemed to have hands and feet on the ends of them, though they were a bit more clawlike than human appendages. They appeared to be about four feet from head to toe now that Azzie could see them better, and strangely enough, their bald grey heads were like perfect ovals; the beings had no discernible facial features. Finding this really odd, though trying not to let it distract her, Azzie whipped her rapier up to attention and started to back away in the opposite direction. "Uh, guys?" she said shakily, "I think we need to move now!"

Kuugen

(Shooting a gun is harder then it looks. I've done it before.)

OOC: Good of you to notice. Doesnt help she's augmented for killing too and not from the same universe as you two XD
On a side note, someone take us to wherever you wanted to go. Someone suggested we go to the scream, so that person lead us there

"It would be nice to know your names. Though anonymity is fine and all, I doubt we're leaving any time soon, and it would be best if we all knew each other. Leads to less arguing and such later at a critical moment."

Kuugen was never one to give names to new people she did not know or had an in-depth folio on. The first was people she would generally ignore and the latter were usually assassination targets. She concluded that it was pretty useless to give a fake name as there seem to be no organisation that can make use of it, but still. After for a bout a second or two, Kuugen decided on her code name. Its still her name, but it made her feel safer, even if its a placebo.

Nine.... would suffice for you to use.

Ryu

It's too quiet... Are you guys sure the scream came from this way?"

To be honest, i was too into getting to know and settle things with you two and didn't quite get a good hear of the scream. I mean, i heard it, but whether it was left or right, i couldn't tell.

Again, an embarrassing moment in front of the two girls. Ryu was definitely not having a good day. The trio continued to walk in the dreary street. The view almost made it seem like a GIF loop, going and going and going over and over again on an infinite loop. It was definitely disheartening if they went the wrong way as that meant that they missed another possibly live person in this dead world. At the same time as Azzie, Ryu spotted the odd humanoid creatures. Similarly, it spotted them too and unfortunately, began to make a B line towards them

"Uh, guys? I think we need to move now!"

You dont need to say twice!

Ryu drew his nodachi. It was a long blade, out reaching Azzie's rapier. If they did attack, he could take down them further out and Azzie could stab those that he missed. Additionally, Yumiko's gun was probably very helpful. She could probably plug the ones that he missed with Azzie or even the ones further out. They had to make a decision. Whilst running, Ryu manage to get what he thought out of his mouth

Stay and fight or run under cover and fight? I say under cover. Make it so they cant use their flight advantage.

Uh, guys?" she said shakily, "I think we need to move now!"

Yumi smiled to herself, the poor kid didn't seem to be on his game today. But who would blame him? With their current situation, disappearing to some unknown region, wandering around a maze of buildings, searching for the only other sign of life around this desolate place - it's no wonder someone would be scattered in their thoughts.

As they proceeded to walk past a building, Azzie suddenly pulled out her rapier, " What is it?" Yumi asked, then noticed Azzie looking up above them.

"Uh, guys?" she said shakily, "I think we need to move now!"

Yumi's head snapped up in the direction of Azzie's gaze, " Oh no..." she said faintly, " I didn't know aliens existed!!" Yumi grabbed her gun and started running backwards, trying to get a good aim on the creatures that are now swopping down towards them.

BAM. BAM. BAM.

She shot several bullets, only two out of the three bullets actually hit, " Oh man this is harder than a video game...I mean..."

BAM. BAM.

" I could sure use those automatic lock on features!" This time only a single bullet made it to one of the strange humanoid creatures, " Oh man, can't they die already?!" Yumi fell back as one of them grazed her, the black pig plush she held flew backwards.

"Ack..." Yumi slowly got up and turned around just in time to see it coming back, it's claws ready to attack. Her eyes grew wide and she instinctively pulled her arms up to her face, ready for the attack, when from the right side, a small lazer shot the creature and knocked it back.

Yumi turned her head towards the direction of the lazer and saw her pig plushie floating, its glowing snout fading.

You dont need to say twice!

Oh no...I didn't know aliens existed!!

On either side of Azzie, Ryu and Yumi had both noticed the creatures, and drawn their weapons. Azzie followed them closely as they started running backwards, and Yumi, who had the weapon with the farthest range, started shooting at the things. Though one of the shots missed, she landed two out of three bullets.

Oh man this is harder than a video game...I mean...I could sure use those automatic lock on features!

Azzie, flinching slightly at the loud gunshots, tried to steady her rapier as the monsters began closing in on them, to the point where they were just about within her range. "That's okay!" she shouted quickly, attempting to tip-cut the first being she could reach. "You're still hitting a bunch of them!" She flinched again as Yumi shot another one of the beings, and realized that there were more than three of them now; more must have been lurking in the shadows than she'd seen initially. Meanwhile, Ryu voiced a good idea:

Stay and fight or run under cover and fight? I say under cover. Make it so they cant use their flight advantage.

"That sounds good to me!" yelled Azzie, as she instinctively raised her parrying hand and swatted at one of the creatures as it clawed at her. She quickly raised her blade and stabbed it in the stomach, then yelped with pain as another one reached down and grazed her cheek with its fingernails. "They are fast little buggers aren't they?!" She struggled, but finally sliced this one across its featureless face, and tried to run some more once she had broken free. "How about near a building?"

Oh man, can't they die already?! Ack...

Just then, Azzie saw Yumi get knocked to the ground by one of the creatures, and drop the plush pig she had been carrying. As she got up again, trying to prepare for the next attack, her pig suddenly shot a small laser beam from its snout at the approaching creature. Azzie stared in amazement at the pig, which was now floating in midair; she had been surprised enough to see the faceless bat-things, but now this? She glanced back and forth between Yumi and the pig somewhat trepidatiously, but realized she had to stay focused, and began looking around for someplace covered that the three of them could retreat into. "Um....Well," she shouted as loudly as she could, making sure the others could hear her, "there's a building right there with a big awning over the door, we could hide there, or else--" She pointed with her rapier to a stairwell across the street that looked like it went underground, and tried to figure out with her eyes what it led to. "Looks like maybe a stairwell to a subway station or a basement, over there? Do you want to try that?"

"Looks like maybe a stairwell to a subway station or a basement, over there? Do you want to try that?"

Ryu's mind was reeling. Was it better to be above ground with more space and paths to run, or go down underground. Time felt like it was slipping away and he did a mental heads and tails.

Subway! That way, we can funnel them and Yumi can get more hits. But we screw up, we're dead meat! You sure about it?

Ryu ran next to Yumi and offered his hand to get her back up. Azzie was ahead of them, so it was her choice whether to take the gamble with the tunnel. From what Ryu saw, if they bottled them into a tight corridor, if Yumi could use the pig again, they'd win, but if not and they cant handle the numbers, they'd be swarmed.

ARgh, God damnit!.

They were out of the residental area now and in the middle of a street. To the two of them, it looked just as deserted as the one before. Both were thinking the same thing: 'Hope fully we won't be attacked again.'

Raiiku's eyes looked up and down the street as Gavin zoned out slightly. What he really wanted was to be back home. It would have been the weekend and he and Raiiku would have had it all to themselves. But now, they had been swept to some mysterious city, attacked, joined by others...

When would he ever have the time alone he wanted with Raiiku.

He sighed. Now his thoughts were blank at least until he started hearing a song. His fingers followed it on his pant leg, tapping to his own mysterious order.

Raiiku looked back at him and saw his fingers moving. "Good song, eh?"

"Yeah. I've heard it a couple of times but I've never known the name." Then he realized, it wasn't in his head. He couldn't keep his fingers in sync with music in his head and talk at the same time.

"Someone's playing that song..." He said, looking down the street into the distance where he was hearing it from.

Raiiku popped up over Gavin's shoulder, standing on his toes. "Who do you think it could be?"

"Well if they're playing music they probably aren't that bad," Gavin answered. "Well, you can hear it better than I can, so lead us there."

"What about the others?" "They'll catch up."

With that, Gavin lead the way down the street looking for the source of the music, checking each alleyway and side street for the unknown player.

Daren had just began to finish the song he started. He was still alive? Nobody came for him? What luck. Although he wasn't too pleased in being in such a situation, it was nice to be able to have some time from his family. That brief song was just what he needed to set his mind at ease. It was now time to look for someone or something. He saw a music store not too far down the road and decided he should go in and get himself a case for his guitar. He opened the door and noticed nobody was inside. He was so very tempted to take just one of the amazing and beautiful guitars, but he chose not too, knowing it was better he didn't, instead he grabbed a few packs of 11 gauge strings and a really nice case that could be held on like a backpack. Daren didn't hesitate to put the guitar in and mount it onto his back. He instantly left the store.

Upon exiting, he then headed for the nearest intersection. He looked left first by habit, but when looking right, he saw two males. Both of them looked about Daren's age, so he didn't think he needed to fear them, but he still was ready. He stood still waiting for them to come to him instead. Daren posed as if he was expecting to take a hit instead of defending. That was just how he was, take the hit instead of preventing it.

However something unexpected happened. The loud ringing from before happened. It was the same noise that had previously irritated the man back there to allow him an escape. Startling him, Daren jumped at his own power and looked at his hands. "So it...came from me?" He shocked himself, but now it made sense. Daren had developed a power. The power to create and amplify sound. Controlling it would be difficult, but his mind went elsewhere when he noticed the sound stopped. It must have only rang for a split second.

Instead, Daren then stood and decided to simply wait for these other two to come to him.

OOC: Gavin, this is where you come in

They continued down the street slowing as they saw someone at the intersection. They stopped as soon as they could see him clearly and were in speaking distance. "Music player?" Gavin asked, crossing his arms.

"Looks like it. He's got a guitar case on his back," Raiiku answered with a grin. "So was it you who screamed earlier?" He put his hands behind his head, relaxed but aware.

Gavin took the chance to feel the bandage Raiiku had put on his wound earlier, it was solid but he was still worried about it.

Subway! That way, we can funnel them and Yumi can get more hits. But we screw up, we're dead meat! You sure about it?

Azzie glanced back and forth between the down staircase and the above-ground building's entrance, and realized that he had a good point. They'd be a lot safer if they were able to draw the creatures into a smaller area. And, though it could prove to be dangerous if they made any mistakes, if it was in fact a subway station, there was a chance they'd be able to use it to travel to another part of the city, rather than being stuck inside yet another dead-end skyscraper.

"Yeah," she shouted finally, "I think that's our best bet if we ever want to get out of here!"

She glanced behind her at Ryu and Yumi, and watched as Ryu offered to help the fallen girl back up to her feet. She hoped Yumi wasn't injured too badly, and that they'd be able to make it into the tunnel fairly soon, as the crowd of creatures seemed to be growing ever larger...

ARgh, God damnit!.

Azzie moved her glance abruptly from the sky full of monsters back to Ryu, wondering why he had shouted. "What is it?"

Kuugen

OOC: Ill use Nine as her name as opposed to Kuugen so people would call her that.

Nine kept to herself. The two boys up front seemed close. The other boy was by himself, however. All three seemed lost and lacked knowledge of the area. Nine was drawing in as much data as possible. The more one knew, the better conclusion one could come up with. Subconsciously, Nine fiddled and began twirling the bayonet in her hand. Time slipped by as the group walked by the sound of music meant that they found another life in this desolate place.

"Looks like it. He's got a guitar case on his back. So was it you who screamed earlier?"

Another youth stood further up the path. What Gavin said was true. His guitar did point him out as a musician and through rather oblique logic would make him more likely to be the screamer. Nine stopped the twirling with her bayonet and let the blade slide down her thumb and index finger till she held it by the point. It didnt cost to be prepared, especially in a world such as this.

It seemed the people that the two people Daren had encountered were friendly and not about to attack him. One of them had a bandage on himself. Daren chose not to say anything about it. Speaking a bit nervously, he said, "Yeah, that was me. Still dunno how I was able to scream so loud." Judging from their manner of dress and their overall look, they might have been the kind of person he could get along with. Speaking up again, he said, "So where is everybody? I'm new in town, my names Daren."

Daren thought it best be that he didn't say anything about how he got here, or people might think he was mad. He did still wear a slightly confused face, but that was because he wasn't trying to hide anything.

Ryu

"What is it?"

Ryu couldnt even say it. The moment he grabbed Yumi's hand as to help her up, her entire body began to flicker as if a hologram. The pig by her also flickered. Right in front of his eyes, her form was completely overtaken by a bright light and just as fast as it came, the light shot straight up into the sky like a bullet. Where Yumi was was an empty space. Her gun laid on the ground next to where she fell. Ryu was dumbstruck and only the commotion of the monsters behind made him push it out of his head. Scooping up Yumi's weapon, Ryu ran on towards Azzie.

Holy f@#k.... That Yum girl just disappeared! Like literally!

Without waiting for a response, Ryu led the duo into the tunnel and down into the subway area. It was perfect. The stair sweep left at the end like a L, meaning they would slow down to turn instead of being able to fly straight. That meant that they'd be more still for Ryu to shoot. With Yumi gone, that was his job.

Alright. Ill blast them when the slow down to turn into the subway. You stab the ones i miss.

Ryu steadied his hand as he took aim down the sight. Sweat dropped from his forehead and just as the first monster popped down onto the last step of the stairs, Ryu pulled the trigger. Through some miraculous luck the first shot hit it in the torso, but it was not due to marksmanship. Through sheer panic, Ryu began squeezing the trigger, letting bullets fly randomly into the mass of monsters that began to clog into the turn.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nine
"So where is everybody? I'm new in town, my names Daren."
Nine saw from the rear that the boy seemed to not be openly hostile. Following the conversation, it also seemed that he also had no idea how they ended up in this realm.
The mystery deepens.....
Nine muttered softly to herself and stepped out of the blind spot of the two boys she had met earlier so that she was visible to this "Daren". Her bayonet was now held in a reverse grip and with the other hand, Nine adjusted her mask and her cloak.
There is no other that we know of. The four of us (remember shadow is also with us) seemed to have been placed here, away from our own place through some unknown means.
Azzie's question was answered when a bright light suddenly engulfed Yumi and her plush pig, and then shot up into the sky, leaving no trace of her except for her gun. After picking up the gun, Ryu ran back towards Azzie, looking just as shocked as she was.
Holy f@#k.... That Yum girl just disappeared! Like literally!
"I know!" replied Azzie, her eyes wide with shock. Ryu didn't hear her, however; he had already started running over to descend the stairwell into the subway station. Slicing at a few more monsters, though making little contact, she ran after Ryu, following him down into the narrow passage.
When they got down there, she noticed that the "L" shape of the stairwell would be conducive to funneling the beasts and keeping them from being able to fly straight, which would slow them down somewhat. Ryu also seemed to have noticed this.
Alright. Ill blast them when the slow down to turn into the subway. You stab the ones i miss.
"Gotcha!" replied Azzie, and ducked out of the way as Ryu began shooting at the beasts with Yumi's gun. She made sure she stayed behind him and out of his range, but she did stay close enough that she could still help out with her rapier. She took down another monster, then sliced another one's finger off, all the while trying as hard as she could not to fall down the stairs.
She looked over her shoulder at the chamber they were starting to enter, and found that the electricity was still on; there were plenty of lights on all over the subway platform. Not far away, a long, sleek silver subway train was sitting next to it, apparently waiting for passengers. It was an odd sight; but then, thought Azzie, they'd seen plenty of stranger things by now. She finally reached the bottom of the stairs, and set her foot down onto the platform floor, when suddenly the lights on the inside of the train flashed on, and it started to tremble, as though it were about to move. Azzie glanced quickly back at the bat-things coming down the stairwell, then back at the train, and realized they really had no other options; the underground station seemed to have only one platform--that which they were on--and no other outlets. If these demons kept coming, she and Ryu would eventually run out of energy, and it would be over for them. She quickly made up her mind, and turned to Ryu.
"Hey, I think we should get on that train!"
she shouted over the commotion, and started backing away towards it, still fighting off the nasty monsters. "We might be safer inside it, and maybe it can take us somewhere better than this place!"
The train, making an unusual noise, suddenly started rolling away, very slowly. Azzie gaped at it, then called to Ryu again, hoping he would come with her. "Oh shit, it's leaving! We'd better run if we're gonna catch it!"
"New is right." Raiiku grinned. "And it seems the previous occupants are still among us. Albeit rotting and lumbering but you get the idea." The perpetual grin that seems to be on Raiiku's face dimmed as he remembered Gavin's wound.
"And it would seem that so far we're the only ones alive. Or at least we think. There may be others like you."
"Party..." Gavin murmured, "Yes, just like in the video games. We form a party and work as a team," Raiiku smiled. Gavin seemed to back to his old self. "It would be best if we kept together, you included Daren. Given the attacks around here, we could use another pair of hands. Never know what could be around the next corner."
As if to accentuate Raiiku's point, a howl sounded nearby as a large wolf leapt from a nearby alleyway and charged at Gavin. He raised his arm in reflex, forgetting that the knife was no longer in his hands but in Raiiku's.
There was a sickening crack as the wolf's neck snapped as its head hit the pitch-black tower shield that now stood in front of Gavin, defending him. It stood a good 7 feet tall and about 3 ft wide and completely shielded him behind it.
"Now that's what I'm talking about," Raiiku said, commenting on the wolf, not the shield. "Unusual..." Gavin said, lifting the shield with ease despite its size. A few seconds later it vanished. "I don't suppose any of you can do something like that now. I know he didnt do that back home. But we can talk while we move. There may be more. Anyone have a destination in mind?"
"Hey, I think we should get on that train! We might be safer inside it, and maybe it can take us somewhere better than this place!"
Ryu glanced backwards and saw what Azzie was pointing out at. A train. It was perfect. These large monsters would probably have a hard time getting in anyway with their large winged limbs. In addition, Ryu didnt think theyd even be able to keep them at bay for too long anyway. They just had to find a time to make a break for it.
"Oh shit, it's leaving! We'd better run if we're gonna catch it!"
Or not......Make a break for it!
Ryu made a turn and began back pedalling. With the only ranged weapon between them, he could at least slow them down. It wasnt too far away, and Ryu managed to reach the door of the train. He continued to fire at them leaning out so that Azzie was covered.
Or not......Make a break for it!
Ryu continued shooting as he and Azzie quickly made for the train. Once Ryu reached the door of it, he leaned out of it so that he could keep shooting, and Azzie quickly ducked around him and climbed into the vehicle's cabin as well, stabbing at one more monster on the way in. She heard a huge THUD! as one of the things slammed into the side window next to the door, having made an unsuccessful attempt at following them. It fell away and out of sight, as if demonstrating instantly how much better off the two humans would be inside the train than out in the open. Smiling at it triumphantly, Azzie caught her breath, then turned to Ryu, and held the end of her rapier out through an open space in the door next to him, trying to ward off any other beasts that might be hoping to board with them.
"So, how are we gonna get the door closed?" she shouted, hoping there was some sort of emergency switch somewhere; she glanced briefly at the inside walls next to the door, hoping to see some sort of friendly red button or lever to pull. She also hoped that there wasn't something worse than the creatures lurking on the train; though the cabin was well-lit, and taking refuge in it was better than the alternative, she didn't necessarily like the idea of being on a vehicle bound for an unknown destination, and especially when she hadn't noticed anyone else being aboard it yet.
