FFF: the RP

Ryu

The train as now speeding along. I wasnt lightning fast, but fast enough that it seems those creatures cant catch up. He slid down to the floor and leaned against the chairs, head resting on the wall. Yumi's gun rest limp in his hand as he watched the darkness flit by the window.

"So, how are we gonna get the door closed?"

Azzie was trying to close the door, so Ryu got up and with all his strength pulled. Even if they were electric, the door budged and slowly, managed to shut close. The rattling became rather muted and mostly safe, Ryu wondered if they should move or stay here.

Well, lets see if we can find anything useful around here.

Gun in hand, Ryu moved towards the front when he heard a slight thump on the roof. Jittery, he crouched and looked straight up before one of the sun roofs popped open and a figure popped down. It was dark with a flapping material that fluttered but he saw two shining blue eyes amongst the black. Panicking Ryu fired into the mass of cloth.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nine
Nine could see that this was going nowhere. These people were making no progress, but she had really no other choice, nor any lead to investigate on where they were. Suddenly, she felt a slight tremor on the soles of her feet. it was progressively becoming somewhat stronger.
Subway.....
Nine thought to herself that if there weas a train running, then there were other people. For the train to run, then there must be someone controlling it, most likely people that knew what was going on. Without a word, Nine leapt high into the air and landed onto one of the houses and dashed off towards the left several streets and backwards. She found what she wanted, the man hole cover with a small rail symbol on it.
The heavy lid flew off as if it was nothing more than paper and Nine slipped into the darkness, landing on a small concrete corridor that led to the tunnel. A steel walkway spanned across the width of the tunnel and timing her jump, Nine dropped onto the train. She heard voices, and just in case, she drew her bayonets before kicking open the sun roof and dropping in. Her cloak fluttered, but she saw two people inside, both youths, looking rather confused, not the organised group she was hoping to find. That did not matter. The obviously panicked and fired at her.
Futile....
Nine easily deflected all 5 bullets shot at her with her bayonet and lunged at Ryu, stabbing her right one right next to his head onto the floor, slanted across his throat while the other pointed straight in between his eye. All that happened with several seconds and by the time that had occurred, Nine's cloak settled.
Hm. More youths....left a group to join another. Who are you? Why are you on the train and how did you get it running. Where is it going?
All the while she asked these questions, Nine did not even quiver with her bayonets and remained mounted on Ryu
Azzie was relieved to have Ryu help her close the door, which was a rather difficult process. They seemed to be safe from the monsters now, though, and that was what mattered.
Well, lets see if we can find anything useful around here.
"Okay."
Azzie watched as Ryu started making his way through the compartment, still holding Yumi's gun. A sudden thud on the roof made Azzie jump, and as she looked up, one of the sun roofs flew open, and a shrouded figure swept down into the cabin, its only visible features a set of shining blue eyes. While Azzie instinctively backed away, her sword still out, Ryu, who was closer, fired five bullets at it. Fending off the bullets almost effortlessly with a bayonet, the intruder immediately landed on top of Ryu and pinned him down, positioning one blade at his throat and the other one right in his face.
Hm. More youths....left a group to join another. Who are you? Why are you on the train and how did you get it running. Where is it going?
The cloaked figure's voice was somewhat feminine, despite its frigidity. Azzie, glancing nervously back and forth between the menacing newcomer and the trapped form of Ryu, wondered whether she should try to do anything; though she could usually familiarize somewhat with standoffish women, being one herself, she certainly wasn't as agile and weapons-handy as this one. If she, Azzie, had ever even been able to climb to the roof of a subway, she would've struggled to get the aperture open, been shot once she did, and then flopped down into the cabin on her side and probably broken something. And she had no idea what intentions this person held; though she may have just attacked Ryu out of self-defense, it wasn't too farfetched to consider that she could just as easily have killed both of them without an invitation. Figuring the best thing to do would be to talk, since the woman was requesting it, Azzie finally toughened up, and lowered her sword a bit, putting on her best facade of level-headedness. "Eh--you don't need to do that," she said quickly, nodding at her and Ryu. "He's not a bad person, we just weren't expecting anyone to come through the ceiling." She hoped an innocuous, calm attitude would work. "Sorry, but you can't blame us for being a little on edge. We were just attacked by about a hundred anthropomorphic...bats...on the way in here. And we have no clue where this train's going, it was already moving when we got on. It just seemed a little safer than the open streets, so we decided to hop aboard. Looks like we might be the only ones, too, unless you've seen anyone else in the other cabins."
Ryu
Ryu was staring straight into the shining blue eyes that he had spotted earlier amidst the fluttering black cloak. They were cold eyes, beautiful, but cold and merciless. Everytime he breathed, he felt his skin scrape against a deadly sharp edge along his throat and the knife that was pointed straight between his brow did not quiver a millimeter. The bayonet was so close that he could feel the cold steel of it even though it wasnt touching his skin. Ryu was breaking out in sweat. The woman seemed perfectly capable of blowing out his life and worse of all, she seemed perfectly fine with it.
"Eh--you don't need to do that. He's not a bad person, we just weren't expecting anyone to come through the ceiling. Sorry, but you can't blame us for being a little on edge. It just seemed a little safer than the open streets, so we decided to hop aboard. Looks like we might be the only ones, too, unless you've seen anyone else in the other cabins."
Nine continued staring down at Ryu. The girl seemed to be not lying. She was showing the typical signs of truth speaking and only the most rigourous and intense training could hammer the ability to override one's subconscious body language with their own. She did not seem to have undergone such training. That, and the boy she straddled right now appeared to be on the level just before "crapping oneself". Nine kept at it for a further few seconds before reverting the grip on the bayonet between Ryu's eye and pulled out the knife that sat across his throat.
So it appears. Right out of the frying pan and into the fire, it seems.
Nine got off the boy and stood a bit further back so that he was just out of arms reach of the boy. There she opened her cloak and slipped back one into her side skirt, but kept the other before dropping her hood, revealing her half masked face.
I saw no one else, yet i intend to confirm the presence of others if there are any.
The slight eye holes became a bit blurred by a transparent blue coloruing as Nine pulled up her HUD. she turned on thermal on her left eye and opened a heartbeat sensor on her right.
You do not seem to be a hostile threat, so i do believe we can come to some non aggression pact. But i will warn you, your gun is insufficient in taking em down if you intend to try and shoot me from behind. I have been through enough of such situations that you will be dead before you even level your aim at me.
Nine opened the front of her mantle by pulling the cloak into its mantle style, so that her arms werent hindered by it being closed around her. It revealed her clothings underneath, but more importantly, her arsenal of bayonets and guns. As if to emphasise her point, and drew out one of her sub machine guns from under her arm holster and cocked it.
As a sign of good, faith, i will walk first, if you intend to follow.
Turning on the spot, Nine went to the connecting door , opened it and stepped into the next carriage. She walked a few steps further to create room and stood still for a second. It was mainly to scan the room as it was very dark, almost completely, but it was also to give the two kids time to decide if they would follow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ryu

Well.... what do we do? She can kill us any time...... do you trust her?

Ryu managed to struggle to his feet and he was clearly shaken. She was very dangerous, but she didnt seem to be after their lives. After all, he and Azzie was still breathing. It seem that joining with her might increase their chance of survival given her skill, but Ryu was still divided.

A light mist began to swirl around their feet as they talked. It slowly rose, making all five of the boys' eyelids flutter with sleepiness. Orion hit the ground first, asleep before his chest hit the pavement. Diarmuid followed, sinking down into the fetal position only a few feet from Orion. It started creeping up on the other three.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Damn, no time. Move it Gavin!" Raiiku shouted, tugging Gavin's arm slightly. They ran past Daren who was just starting to falter. The mist wasn't yet washing over Daren yet though. Gavin turned back to get him.

"Forget him. You don't know what that stuff is," Raiiku told him. "There's still time to save him," he said angrily. He ran over to Daren and caught him as he fell, dragging him backward. Raiiku sighed and raced over to help. Together they were able to pull Daren into a nearby apartment building and up the stairs to the third floor as the mist began creeping under the door.

They laid Daren on the bed in one of the rooms. His chest rose and fell in rythym as he slept. "That was too close..." Raiiku said, thankful that they had survived.

Gavin went back into the living room of the apartment. Raiiku followed. "What's wrong?" "Why did you want me to leave him?" Gavin asked bluntly.

To be honest, Raiiku was jealous of Daren. He knew Gavin liked his music and much to Raiiku's displeasure, he couldn't seem to master an instrument to match Gavin's guitar. And here comes Daren, someone Gavin could just as easily have fallen for and he could play the guitar.

Raiiku rubbed his arm slightly and looked away. "I didnt want to lose you..." Part of the truth, but not all of it. Gavin approached Raiiku and wrapped his arms around him. "I told you before. I'm not going to leave you. I'll stay as long as you want me." He kissed Raiiku's cheek.

Turning slightly, Raiiku laid his head on Gavin's chest. "What are we gonna do now?"

"I don't know about the other two but we can watch over Daren until he wakes up. Gather supplies and such. I don't think we'll be leaving for awhile."

Gavin released his embrace and sat down on the couch, Raiiku following and curling up next to him. "What exactly was that shield?" he asked as he nestled in next to Gavin.

"I don't know. But I suspect it may have something to do with Daren's voice. Some sort of power or such. I expect you have one too."

"Wonder what it is."

"I honestly hope we never find out. It's too dangerous here for us." Gavin's words fell on deaf ears; Raiiku was already asleep tired from the day. He slowly maneuvered his way out from under him and went intot he bathroom. Unwrapping the bandage on his arm he looked at the wound. It was an ugly purple and black and smelled rank, like an infection.

"Damn," he muttered. He bound it back up tightly with some clean bandages from the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. The smell was trapped in the bandages thankfully; maybe Raiiku wouldn't notice.

He came back and moved the second couch closer to the first to make a bed for the two of them. He laid down on the second one next to Raiiku, who promptly wrapped his arms around Gavin and nuzzled him in his sleep. Gavin put his arm around Raiiku and fell asleep too.

So it appears. Right out of the frying pan and into the fire, it seems.

Azzie watched as the cloaked figure finally withdrew from Ryu, stood back, and replaced one of the blades within her cloak, still keeping the other one out. She removed her hood, revealing a face still obscured by an interesting-looking mask.

I saw no one else, yet i intend to confirm the presence of others if there are any.

A thin, small, unusual blue light appeared over the eyes of her mask, and she spoke again.

You do not seem to be a hostile threat, so i do believe we can come to some non aggression pact. But i will warn you, your gun is insufficient in taking em down if you intend to try and shoot me from behind. I have been through enough of such situations that you will be dead before you even level your aim at me.

Whoever or whatever she was, thought Azzie, she seemed to be a professional something. If she was willing to cooperate with them and avoid any further hostilities, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have her along. And, perhaps if they roamed into the lairs of any more monsters, she might be able to detect their presence sooner than Azzie or Ryu, based on the experience she'd mentioned and her obvious quick reflexes. And, noted Azzie as the woman swept back her cloak, revealing a vast array of concealed weapons, she had plenty of ammo. The woman withdrew a serious-looking gun from its resting place and cocked it, as if getting it ready.

As a sign of good, faith, i will walk first, if you intend to follow.

Azzie looked on as the woman opened the door to the next compartment, which was a lot darker than the one they were in, and went inside. Azzie waited to see what she was going to do; it seemed like she was waiting for them, so she turned to look at Ryu, who still looked rather distraught. He addressed Azzie for the first time in a few minutes as he rose to his feet.

Well.... what do we do? She can kill us any time...... do you trust her?

Azzie frowned thoughtfully. There wasn't much they could do; if they refused to go with the woman, she could get angry and kill them, or fight them over any rare resources they might stumble across in their exploits; Azzie noticed her stomach growling for the first time, and realized that she had yet to see any places to get any sort of food, or even water. If this woman was willing to help them at all, maybe she could assist them in finding things like that which they would need, as well as help them think of a way to get home; however, she could also be the very one responsible for their presence there, and be offering to help them merely to lure them into a trap. It was quite a predicament; and they really didn't have all that much time to mull it over, either--they couldn't just sit there talking it over forever. Keeping in mind that they might still be doomed either way, Azzie sighed, and finally made a decision, figuring it was probably the safer bet.

"I think we probably should,"
she answered Ryu quietly. "The last thing we need is more enemies, and I think she could be a big help if she's willing. Plus, she might be just as lost as we are." She hesitated. "Although, I know I'm not the one whose throat she just tried to slit," she added, knowing he had a good reason to not want to trust her. "What do you think?" She winced, as her stomach growled sharply again. "I mean who knows, maybe she can at least help us find some food or something. We should probably try to find something soon if we're going to keep our strength up. Maybe there'd even be something on this train?"

Raiiku blinked and looked up into Gavin's sleeping face. Gently kissing his lips, he rustled Gavin a bit. Sleepily, Gavin opened his eyes and looked at Raiiku. "Morning," he said, smiling at Raiiku. "Morning to you too."

They both sat up and looked around. "Same place," Gavin muttered. "We're not getting home anytime soon," Raiiku agreed. They went about in the same way they normally did in the morning. Raiiku searched through the fridge for something to fix for breakfast while Gavin straightened up the house.

This time though, Gavin checked on Daren. The boy was still asleep. Checking his pulse he found it strong. He was still alive at least, but for how long? Going back to the kitchen, he watched Raiiku cook. As soon as he was done and everything was off, he took Raiiku and led him back over to the couches.

The taller boy embraced Raiiku. "I don't want to lose you either. Its not worth it without you. Not here or at home." He clenched the back of Raiiku's shirt and a few tears rolled down his cheeks. Raiiku merely wrapped his arms around Gavin, not saying a word. Gavin had been in this mood several times before and it was only because of Raiiku's support he was still alive.

Deliberately, Raiiku leaned backward so they both fell onto the couches. He looked up into Gavin's green eyes and smiled. "It's okay, I won't ever leave you. We'll be together until the very end, however it comes about." He ran his fingers through Gavin's mane of black hair, scratching his head in the spots he knew Gavin enjoyed.

Pulling Gavin in close, he kissed him again, working Gavin's shirt off as he did. Gavin did the same with Raiiku, tossing both shirts to the ground of the apartment. There was a beastial gleam in Gavin's eyes as he went after Raiiku.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

They laid side by side on the couches, Raiiku curled up beside Gavin with his arm on Gavin's naked chest. "Lion..." he said smiling at Gavin. "Rawr..." Gavin answered, raising a hand and flexing it like a paw. They both laughed for the first time since they had come to this strange place. It was almost like things were back to normal.

"I'm surprised we didn't wake Daren up," Raiiku chuckled. "Must have been some heavy tranq in that mist," Gavin replied. Raiiku kissed Gavin on the cheek before getting up and getting dressed. "We had better gather suppies and hole up here until Daren wakes up and we can get moving again."

"Right." Gavin got up too and put his clothes back on. "We'll raid each of the apartments on this floor. I'll take left you take right." They embraced one last time before heading out of the apartment and going to the left and right doors, opening them, and going in.

OOC: Kate, i think we should take turns in leading events. The last one you did was the train, ill have nine take the next one for the train. You can then lead us to the destination and the event there and so forth. If the others dont post, we can go ahead. And i must rep you. You most definitely read her profile, and thoroughly at that. Not many people do that and i respect that.

Ryu

"I think we probably should. The last thing we need is more enemies, and I think she could be a big help if she's willing. Plus, she might be just as lost as we are. Although, I know I'm not the one whose throat she just tried to slit. What do you think? I mean who knows, maybe she can at least help us find some food or something. We should probably try to find something soon if we're going to keep our strength up. Maybe there'd even be something on this train?"

Ryu definitely couldn't argue with her logic there. Considering the super human feat she did, jumping onto a speeding carriage as well as deflecting five bullets with little more than knives, he'd have to agree that if this mysterious woman joined them, their survival rate just shot through the roof... providing that she did not kill them. Their lives literally hung on the edge of a knife. That woman's knife to be more precise.

Two losty can't wander these unknown places forever i guess. Lets follow. She did offer peace first after i....shot at her.

Ryu had the sudden realisation that his panicked reaction could have killed both himself and Azzie. For all he knew, that woman could've just jumped in and talked like she did now. Shame and frustration hit him at once, his fist clenched into a tight fist.

Let's get going then.

While he loved his sword, a gun seemed to be better considering its range and power.Its not like it'd be a game where he would acquire some weird power strong enough to make a gun useless. Stepping into the darkness, he shuffled slowly behind the woman.

Hey, we decided we'll go together. Three brains better than one, y'know. Sorry about shooting at you before. You... uh got a name we can call you? It'd be rude to keep calling you "hey".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nine
Nine heard the boy come in. He was definitely a child, age wise. The girl was more her age, but Nine considered her child in terms of combat abilities. Still, she seemed more competent that the youth. This carriage was clear, despite its darkness.
You can use Nine. In my line, when resources are scarce, you spare as much as possible. Seeing as humans are scarce here, killing you would yield no profit. It is my principle as a Sky Hunter. This carriage seem clear, though there is nothing of use. Let us move on. Tell the girl to watch our rear along with you. Don't stray too close to me, lest i go into combat.
Nine walked on, her heels clicking softly on the hard floor. There was nothing of interest. Just as she approached the next door to the next carriage, something unnerving happened. Her holographic HUD screen flickered. It was slight, but she saw the minute interference along the screen. It was concerning. Raising her gun ready, she rummaged through her pack and retrieved two small LED torches and handed them backwards.
Do not use them unless something happens up front. Boy, use the Harries Technique.... the type you see in movies...
Nine was hoping that the movies she had at "Castles in the Sky" was similar to his one.
Remember... stay a bit back...
Her hands rested on the handle and slowly, she pushed the door open, muzzle of her SMG going in first before the rest. Still zero FOES register
ing on her HUD, but the spike in interference did increase ever so slightly. It was definitely not good.
Two losty can't wander these unknown places forever i guess. Lets follow. She did offer peace first after i....shot at her.
Thankfully, Ryu seemed to agree with Azzie's idea.
Let's get going then.
He clenched his fist, and followed the shady newcomer into the next compartment. Azzie started to follow them, as Ryu approached the woman in the dark cabin and informed her of their decision.
Hey, we decided we'll go together. Three brains better than one, y'know. Sorry about shooting at you before. You... uh got a name we can call you? It'd be rude to keep calling you "hey".
You can use Nine. In my line, when resources are scarce, you spare as much as possible. Seeing as humans are scarce here, killing you would yield no profit. It is my principle as a Sky Hunter. This carriage seem clear, though there is nothing of use. Let us move on. Tell the girl to watch our rear along with you. Don't stray too close to me, lest i go into combat.
That sounded like an acceptable plan, Azzie thought. And...a Sky Hunter, eh? Azzie had never heard of such a thing; it sounded to her almost like the type of profession someone might have in a fantasy novel or a video game. She wasn't about to question it, though; that was admittedly one of the less strange things she'd heard since she'd ended up in this world. Adhering to what Nine had said, she glanced over her shoulder warily as she caught up with Ryu, her eyes straining somewhat in the darkness. Seeing nothing, she suddenly jumped as she heard a faint noise ahead of them. It turned out to be merely the sound of Nine raising her gun; however, that in itself wasn't exactly comforting. Nine shuffled around in her pack, and fished a pair of LED flashlights from within it; she then handed them behind her to Ryu and Azzie.
Do not use them unless something happens up front. Boy, use the Harries Technique.... the type you see in movies...
"Thanks," whispered Azzie out of instinct, though she wasn't sure whether she wanted to know why she was receiving one. She accepted the light without turning it on, and was glad Nine hadn't been talking to her; she had no idea what the Harries Technique was. She figured it must have something to do with the fact that Ryu had a gun, though, and decided not to worry about it. She would've felt more comfortable if they could turn them on, though, and her thumb subconsciously felt around for the on switch, just to make sure she'd know where it was if the time came. She found it, and took her thumb away from it immediately before she had any chance of bumping it by accident.
Remember... stay a bit back...
Nine had started pushing open the door to the next cabin, sticking the tip of her gun through the crack first. Azzie's heart was jumping up into her throat; she hated being in dark places where there might be something waiting to jump out at her. She half expected it to happen at every second; but all she could do was wait at this point. At best, Nine would tear through anything that might be in the new cabin before it had a chance of reaching anyone else; and at worst, they at least knew there were two empty cabins close by--this one and the one they'd just come from, which did at least have a light on if nothing else...
Ryu
Ryu had watched enough cop show to know what the Harries Technique was. Placing his torch under the pistol, the torch would point where his gun would. It was not too encouraging to hear their new powerful ally being so cautious. However, she seemed to be much more adept in combat than himself or Azzie, so he did as he was told, although he really disliked walking in the dark. For that matter, he did not know how in the world Nine was doing it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nine

Every step she took, the interference on her HUD rose exponentially. Something was nearby, creating a magnetic field and disrupting her scanners. There was no choice. It was time to do this the old fashion way. Both heat and heartbeat sensor was turned off and Nine perked her ears. From its scabbard, she drew one of her chain swords. Slowly, Nine took herself all the way to the other side of the carriage and stopped still. Several seconds passed and it seemed like there was nothing when all of a sudden, Nine activated the sword, a slight hum of rotation sounded before she swung it in an arc towards her left, the fast spinning chain bit into the metal carriage and sliced through it like butter. An ear splitting scream rang out as she finished her cut, a large gouge now visible along one side of the wall, before Nine opened fire towards her left, tracing upwards onto the roof. There were further screams as well as thumps of movement on the roof as the large caliber bullets punched through the roof. She stopped as the thumping stopped. It was definitely not dead.
Lights on. Keep away from the windows and the sky lights. Shine your torches at the windows closest to you. We got ourselves a humanoid bat. A large one at that....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ryu
The hum of Nine's sword was so hard to catch that if he had not disobeyed Nine and got rather close and actually saw the blade itself, he would not have noticed it. When he saw her swing the sword, his kendo training made him reflexively step backwards next to Azzie in proper combat stance. The only sign of the blade doing anything was the millisecond sparks that flew when Nine sliced at the metal sides. The carriage then flashed with muzzle flash as the Sky Hunter let loose with her automatic weapon. He was lucky Nine didn't shoot back at him when he shot at her. He knew his gun was a 9mm. What Nine had in her SMG was far larger, as the flash was enormous, the bang much louder and the holes left much larger. Never mind a few bullets. One of those would punch a large hole in him.
Lights on. Keep away from the windows and the sky lights. Shine your torches at the windows closest to you. We got ourselves a humanoid bat. A large one at that....
Ryu obliged quickly. The maglite like torch swept in wide arcs across the windows and amongst the din of the train, he began to catch the sound of thumping, something moving along the metal carriage. For a split second, a flash of something purple and VERY big appeared in the cone of light and on reflex, Ryu opened up three shots, all three obviously missing its target. There was a deadly silence when the window that faced Azzie busted into pieces, showering glass inwards. Yet another ear splitting scream reverberated in the tunnel as a large bat-like humanoid monster hung upside down outside and launched one of its lanky limbs at Azzie, trying to grab her.
OOC: Majorly long post.
Gavin opened his door and went inside. He was confronted by almost complete darkness. Grasping the wall near the door he found the lightswitch and flipped it on. The light illuminated a rather messy house. Clothes were strewn across the couches and a half eaten meal was rotting on the counter.
Looking around for who might have eaten the meal, he found nothing. Rummaging through the clothes he didnt find much, just a few reciepts that meant nothing. Moving into the kitchen, he checked the refrigerator. Inside were several cans of cola and some cheese. "A start..." he muttered.
Grabbing a plastic bag he dumped the food and drink into the bag. Checking the cupboards he found an assortment of canned goods. Mostly fruit in heavy syrup; whoever had lived here had a sweet tooth. Dropping these cans into that bag and another one, he checked the pantry as well.
Inside he found bottled water and some bagged rice and pasta. Grabbing another pair of bags he filled them up and placed all four by the door. He hoped that he could find something else useful in the house. Going down the hallway he stopped at the first door.
Cautiously opening it, he flipped the lightswitch on as soon as there was enough room. It seemed someone else lived here; someone more organized and clean. This room was near spotless with everything in its place. Here there was a king-size bed with black silk sheets, similar to the ones he had on his bed at home.
Folding them up carefully, he laid them on the bed to take them out later. Opening the closet doors, a skateboard fell out. Brushing it aside with his foot, Gavin started leafing through the clothes on the rack. Most of them were his size and in the style he wore. Grabbing a decent selection, he folded them up and laid them next to the sheets.
"This is going to be a pain to get back to the apartment," he murmured. Going back to the closet, he rummaged around it in, coming up with a couple of suitcases. Packing the clothes and sheets away, he hauled the filled suitcases to the door along with the skateboard. As he headed back to the hallway he heard some scratching at a door.
Turning around and dropping into a stance Raiiku had taught him, he awaited an attack that never came. Carefully he moved back into the hallway. There were two more doors to choose. Choosing the one across from the one he had just exited, he kicked the door in.
The force of his kick knocked the door in and blasted the creature inside to the opposite wall. The thing resembled a man dressed in rags of what used to be similar clothes to what lay on the couches outside. The creature charged Gavin, emitting a sound like a howl.
Given what had happened with the wolf, Gavin thought about a weapon that could be used in such close quarters but also with range, he didn't need another festering wound. The beast charged him and found itself impaled on the polearm that appeared in Gavin's hands. Answerign with his own charge, Gavin rammed the monster into the wall. It was stuck on the wall with the spear keeping it in place.
"Damned beasts. They're everywhere." The thing slumped over, dead as the spear disappeared into darkness, leaving the creature to fall on the ground. Shutting the door, Gavin jammed the lock. Now if the thing awoke again, it would be trapped.
Listening, Gavin could not detect any other sounds. He opened the other door in the hallway to a bedroom as messy as the opening room. Stepping cautiously through the room, Gavin couldn't see anything worth even taking, if he could even see anything. He shut the door after that. If they needed something he could just come back.
He dragged the goods back to their apartment, taking about three trips to get it all in.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raiiku's door was locked. Taking a few steps back, he took a running start into a flying kick at the door which knocked it to the floor inside. Luckily the room was carpeted which muffled the sound though a dull thud echoed around the floor.
Flicking the lightswitch on, he surveyed the room. Almost immaculate, the apartment had to have been owned by some obsessive compulsive person. Except for the fine layer of dust, there wasnt a pencil out of place. It was...disturbing for Raiiku.
Starting with the kitchen, Raiiku began poking around the cupboards. Everything was stacked by what it was. Most of it was canned vegetables though there were some sauces for pastas.
"Jackpot!" Raiiku pumped his fist in the air as he found about 8 cans of carrots. Now if only he could fnd some honey he could treat Gavin to a special meal. As he moved the cans around, he found a something else hidden in the back. This had even more dust than the rest of the house. Pulling it out, he blew on it. It was Merlot from four years ago. Raiiku smiled.
"Aged to perfection. Just like Gavin." Raiiku grinned. Grabbing a canvas bag that was hanging on the nail above the cupboards, he started filling the bag with the cans. Going over to the pantry, he found exactly what he wanted. It was a huge container of honey, over 5 pounds of it. With that Gavin could have his tea too if he could find some.
Who would have thought there would be about a dozen boxes of assorted tea in the pantry too. Grabbing these in his arms, he puiled them on the counter in the kitchen. Going back in, he found everything he needed for tuna fish. Something easy to make on the run. And Raiiku knew the two of them had been doing that often enough.
Checking the refrigerator he found pounds of meat. He laughed aloud. "This is awesome. Whoever this is knew how to eat. Steaks, salmon, turkey. What isn't in here?"
There was no one to answer him. "Oh well. More for us. I'll get it before I go." Shutting the door he went back to the bedroom. It was a single bedroom so there was only one door. Opening it and turning on the lights he found a large circular bed with someone sleeping under it.
"Oh! Sorry man. Didn't know there was anyone here. Or anyone left alive really. We got attack by a horde a zombies yesterday and that was a pain."
The form groaned in response. "Not a morning person are you?" Raiiku laughed. Again the form groaned. "Something wrong?"
The form crawled to the end of the bed and fell onto the floor with a wet slap. "That doesn't sound good..." A pair of sickly grey arms came out and pulled a skeletal form out from under the covers. Its flesh hung around it and had a sleek, sheen to it for a wet look. It was also only a humanoid torso.
"Disgusting..." Raiiku recoiled slightly. The thing began to pull itself toward Raiiku along the ground surprising quickly. "Let's see how far this goes."
As soon as the thing came into range, he kicked it. It slammed against the back wall. The thing made the same wet slapping noise as it hit the ground and began dragging itself towards Raiiku again. "Tough aren't you? Too bad I can't burn you."
In those words he kicked the creature which was thrown against the back wall with a red bolt of energy. Onc eit hit it exploded in a burst of flame that charred the wall.
"I guess...thats the end of it. And it looks like I have a cool power too!"
The threat gone, Raiiku checked the closet. Pulling a down a sleeveless shirt the same as the one he was wearing now, he checked the tag. "Looks like the same size."
Pulling a few more down, he looked at them too. "Even more. Awesome." He grabbed as many as he could and yanked out a duffel bag from the floor. Stuffing his new clothes in the bag, he threw it over his shoulder. "Now to get back to Gavin."
Tossing all the meat into another bag he found, he brought that and everything else with him to the apartment he was sharing with Gavin and Daren.
(OOC: I figure now's probably a good time to activate my first power :ness: So I shall do so.)
There was an uneasy tension in the air as the trio crept quietly through the dark carriage. Azzie, holding up her rapier nervously in one hand, her unlit LED light in the other, saw Ryu put his own flashlight close to his gun. Maybe that was the Harries technique, she thought briefly, trying to distract herself from her nervousness. Suddenly, a little ahead of them, the dim figure of Nine drew what looked like a sword from within her ensemble, and made her way over to the far end of the train car, disappearing into the darkness. There was silence for a few moments, then suddenly a series of sparks issued from the left wall of the train car in a line, and almost instantaneously an achingly loud shriek filled the shadowy cabin. Azzie made a noise in her throat, taken aback, and instinctively backed away in the opposite direction, as in a succession of illuminating flashes a trail of several holes were shot into the ceiling, apparently following after whatever had been lurking in wait for them. The thing screamed some more, thudding across the roof just ahead of the bullet holes, and suddenly both the shooting and thudding stopped simultaneously. Azzie braced herself, expecting the thing to jump her at any moment; for a split second, she had a ridiculous notion of the simulators she'd ridden at theme parks that featured speakers and air blowers to create the effect of monsters lurking in the dark behind you. Holding up her one measly sword that she was only moderately skilled with, smooshed into the opposite corner of the compartment, she was really wishing right now that she was merely inside one of those.
Lights on. Keep away from the windows and the sky lights. Shine your torches at the windows closest to you. We got ourselves a humanoid bat. A large one at that....
Oh, great, thought Azzie, another one, as the thumping restarted. She switched on her flashlight instantly, trying to keep from shining it on Ryu or Nine, and swept it to her right, towards the line of subway windows a few feet away from her. Well, at least she and Ryu had already had some experience fighting them--
BAM! BAM! BAM!
It was Ryu; Azzie could tell from the much less powerful sound of the gun. He must have seen the thing. Concerned, Azzie turned away from the window to look at him; she saw only his light, shining on a lifeless part of the carriage wall. He might have missed it, she thought; if Nine hadn't been able to kill the thing with her more substantial firearm, she doubted Ryu's smaller bullets would have been--
CRASH!!
A few flecks of sharp pain stung Azzie's right hand and arm as the window right next to her shattered open at a terrifying amplitude. She shone her flashlight on it, and saw the thing; it was purple, upside down, and massive, nothing like the scrawnier pale ones she and Ryu had encountered before. As Azzie's heart raced in terror, the thing thrust one of its spindly arms into the cabin towards her; she shrieked and jumped back, putting her sword up defensively.
And, then, it was gone.
The whole horrifying cabin was gone.
She was, instead, now standing in a defensive position in a perfectly well-lit train compartment, completely intact, with no shattered windows or bullet holes in it. Having seen the change in surroundings before her very eyes, as though it were some sort of poorly-edited movie, Azzie frowned with confusion, and lowered her arms from in front of her face, staring blankly at the reflection of the interior lights on the subway windows. She looked to her left; she was a few feet away from a closed door to another cabin. She glanced to her right, and saw nothing but empty seats, along with a tall paper bag sitting open and upright in the middle of one row of them. She had never been in this cabin before, or even seen it; how the hell did she get in here? And, more importantly, where were Ryu, Nine, and the monster?
Wondering which direction their cabin might be in, if she was even still on the same train, she tried looking through the window of the door nearest her into the next cabin. She couldn't see much, only that it was also lit, and appeared to be completely empty. She couldn't see any further than that, so she ran to the other side of this new compartment, and tried looking through the other door. There was complete darkness, aside from a few faint streaks of the track going by on the ground below; apparently she was in the last compartment.
Damn it, she said to herself; she had to be at least a few cars away from where Ryu and Nine had been--when Azzie and the young man had boarded, they'd been at least some distance from the end. She'd have to run if she wanted to get back to them in time to help. Thinking quickly, her eyes darted to the paper bag on the seat, and she hurried over to it, wondering if there might be anything of use in it.
It wasn't a bomb, thankfully; she realized upon touching the bag that it could easily have been something dangerous. However, the item in the bag was still something she'd never expected to see: a small, silver digital camera, with a matching grey lanyard attached to one end. Having no time to assess its present worth to their cause, she snatched it out of the bag quickly, stuffed it into one of her jacket pockets, and shuffled her sword and LED light back into more ready positions in her hands. Resolving that she had to try her best to help the others, even with her limited skills, she dashed back over to the first door she'd looked through, and opened it, then continued running the rest of the way back through the cabins, slowing down only to open each subsequent door. Most of the lights were on in these compartments; the dimmest one still had one faint light bulb flickering in a desperate attempt to stay on, as though trying to help her get through it.
"Here it is."
She found the compartment she and Ryu had entered when they'd first boarded, and knew the dark one featuring the monster lay just beyond it. Taking a deep breath and praying for a miracle, Azzie got her rapier ready, went over to the last door, pushed it open with her flashlight hand, and swung the beam around cautiously, hoping to see two healthy people and a large purple corpse.
OOC: Ryu's gonna be useless in this battle XD
Ryu
This little event was definitely not good for his heart. Games were one thing, giant humanoid bats that clamber along a speeding train was another. Worse was, his companion disappeared into thin air just as said monster went to swipe at her with its claw. It was close to him as well and he dropped to his butt for the second time in a few minutes and back pedalled once more. It reached in further in an attempt to grab him and just before one of its long black nails could touch him, a familiar flash of black appeared in his cone of light.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nine

Nine had one of her precious Bajonetta out and impaled through the bat's arm and was know standing on it, holding on like a bull ride. The thing screamed as it tried to fling off the Sky Hunter, but it was a futile effort. SMG still in hand, Nine let loose into its arm. Purple blood flew as the bullets tore into its flesh. Sick of being shot at, the bat pulled its arm out, Nine and all and smacked it into the wall outside. Nine felt the impact against her back, but rather than let go, she twisted the knife sideways until it was 90 degree to its original position and Nine flipped onto the inner side of the arm, away from the wall. It was enough playing around.

Activating the strength implant, her sigils glowed and Nine delivered a powerful heel kick into its face, forcing it onto the roof of the train. She flicked her arms down her side, and four bayonets shot out between each finger on both hands before Nine jumped onto the bat. One stabbed straight into its neck, puncturing through the other side, three into the lungs, two in one, one into the other. The fifth went straight into its left eye while the sixth and seventh crippled both knees. The final one was stabbed straight through its abdomen. It wasnt a critical area, but it served one purpose. The bayonet was lodged in securely. On Nine's left hand, she has her diamond wire glove on and connecting all five wires onto the hilt, she threw the bat against the side walls of the tunnel, using her strength upgrades to keep it there, its screams reverberating even over the noise before Nine pulled it back like a puppet, gave it a side kick, ricocheting it off the wall of the tunnel and sending it back into the carriage, via a different, unbroken window. Nine could tell it was still alive. Time for the finishing blow.

Following the bat's bath, Nine bounced off the tunnel wall and reentered via the new opening. A pulse of light swung into the carriage, but Nine would deal with it later. The bat was first. It grabbed feebly at her cloak, but in one movement, Nine severed its arm with the Bajonetta that was still embedded into the monster. It wasn't a clean cut, but more like tearing it off, the arm flying behind her towards where Ryu was sitting. It splattered against the carriage window besides the cross carriage door. With almost all its limbs completely useless, Nine grabbed her
chain blade and in one swift movement, decapitated half of the monster's head. It was definitely dead. From inside her pouches, she took a small light sphere out and hung it on one of the handholds hanging, acting like a lamp of sort. A bit dull, reaching only half the carriage, with a dull white glow, but it was better than nothing.

Primary threat has been eliminated. Any injuries
sustained?

Nine saw that the light that came in was the girl's, which meant she was safe. There was time later to talk about her mysterious disappearance later when the train was cleared. Turning back on her scanners, there was still interference, most strong when she looked at the bat. She bent down next to it and pulled out nonchalantly, the bayonet stuck at the arms and at the lungs and head. The one in the abdomen, she used. Methodically, she cut open its chest and used the bayonet to peel aside the skin at the abdomen and after a bit of poking, she felt a hard, foreign object in a biological being. Stabbing the machine, Nine pulled out a sizey box and when it came into the air, the interference intensified.

Interference source identified. Now eliminated.

This was followed by Nine flicking it off the bayonet before slicing it into bits as it came down. With all her weapons cleaned and resheathed, Nine stood back up.

Well.... preliminary scans, without interference reaches the end of the train. There is no biological beings that are unshielded within this train. Synthetics, i cannot say....no... no synthetics.

Nine switched to EMP scanner and saw no anomaly electronics. The train was safe.

We are safe for now. Where did you...disappear off to?

Ryu

Ryu couldn't talk. What he thought was straight out of Ninja Gaiden was just taken out just like in the game, with all its limbs lopped off and blood splattered all over the place. Surprisingly there was none on him. In his shock, all he could do was used the wall to stand back up and look at Azzie for an answer to Nine's question.

As Azzie swept her light through the cabin, she soon noticed a great deal of dark purple liquid splattered all over the walls and floor, along with what appeared to be a large dismembered arm. She also realized that it was a bit brighter inside; as her light extended in towards the other end of the compartment, she saw Nine standing over the motionless form of the monster, its head and body substantially mutilated. Feeling a rush of hope, Azzie scanned the cabin a bit more, and spotted Ryu, who appeared uninjured, sitting on the floor next to one of the walls. She waved to him, and breathed a huge sigh of relief; she was glad they were both okay.

Primary threat has been eliminated. Any injuries sustained?

Azzie could still feel a bit of stinging in her hand and arm; she had forgotten about being cut by the glass in the insanity of the past few minutes. She shuffled her flashlight into her right hand along with the sword, rolled up her right jacket sleeve, and checked her cuts; they weren't bleeding very much. "I'm fine, I think," she replied, rolling her sleeve back down; she didn't really care about it getting dirty at this point. "Just a few cuts from the glass, that's all."

She frowned as she watched a small blue light appear before Nine's mask again; the woman then crouched over the dead monster, and sliced its stomach and chest open, with a knife that was already protruding from it. After poking around in its innards a bit, she used the bayonet to pull out something unusual: a good-sized, artificial-looking box.

Interference source identified. Now eliminated.

As Azzie was about to ask what the object was, Nine shook it off of her bayonet, and then sliced it up before it hit the ground; apparently the item had little or no value to her. She then began cleaning off the blades she'd used to bring the beast down, and put them away again; Azzie hoped they wouldn't need to be used again for a long while, if at all. Nine then stood up again once she was done.

Well.... preliminary scans, without interference reaches the end of the train. There is no biological beings that are unshielded within this train. Synthetics, i cannot say....no... no synthetics.

Nine seemed to be scanning the area around them; apparently that was what the blue light over her mask was for. That type of technology was certainly handy given their situation; if not for her assistance, Azzie and Ryu would probably not have survived the encounter they'd just been through. Azzie had a feeling she'd be saying thank you to the woman several times before all this was over.

We are safe for now. Where did you...disappear off to?

The question was being directed at Azzie; she hesitated, then glanced over at Ryu, who was also watching her; he was standing up now, but still seemed a bit shaken. Azzie realized it must have seemed like horrible timing for her to have disappeared at such a crucial moment; she hoped they'd actually seen her pop out of the cabin, and didn't think she'd just run out of the car and deserted them. Even though she'd certainly wanted to flee, she never actually would have; dying alone in such an eerie, unusual place without them would have been a lot worse than dying amongst friends or allies. And she was sure she'd never survive in this place on her own.

She decided she ought to get around to answering the question, as best she could. "I...somehow...the last car of the train," she put together finally, still unable to make sense of it all. "One minute I was here, and the next, I was several cars down in that direction." She pointed to the section she'd come from. "I have no idea how it happened; all I really felt was...a huge wave of panic." She thought of the creature's arm crashing through the window; it still gave her the chills. "I did find something though, it--"

The train shook uneasily, then suddenly started to slow down, until it stopped, with another more gentle shake. Azzie glanced at Ryu and Nine with concern, then looked out through the windows on one side; some light was now pouring in through them, though it wasn't particularly bright. Her heart skipped a beat; she could see a platform, very similar to the one they'd seen earlier, and equally devoid of people. Thinking they were finally free from this underground nightmare, she smiled a little, and turned to the others with a look of relief. "Hey, we've stopped!" she exclaimed brightly. "Come on, let's get off of this thing, I've had enough of creepy dark tunnels." She worked her way around the gooey pools of blood to the nearest door, waited for it to open automatically, and then walked through it onto the platform, hoping the others would follow her.

She took a deep breath, glad to be on solid ground again, and then realized something: there was no upward stairwell. No pathway that led to the surface seemed to be visible; she frowned frantically at the left side, then the back, and then the right side of the platform, hoping that she was imagining things; but no, there seemed to be no outlet to the outside world here. Azzie's heart sank; she squeezed her flashlight in frustration, and shut it off by mistake in the process. "Oh, come on, you've got to be kidding me!" she groaned, turning back towards the others in despair. "There's no way out of here!" She flung her arms outward in exasperation; as she did so, the camera she'd found fell out of her jacket pocket, and tumbled loudly onto the ground. The LCD on it suddenly lit up, and a muffled audio track started playing as some sort of shaky image started flashing across the screen.

Baffled, Azzie went over to the camera, and picked it up, holding it outward away from her so that Ryu and Nine could see it also if they wanted to. "This is...the thing I found in the last compartment, by the way," she explained distractedly, as she was taken in by the video clip that had somehow started playing on the small playback screen. It looked somewhat like an amateur video--shaking as though someone with little experience had been holding it, and with a poor, choppy sound quality--but the content was quite vivid indeed. A crudely painted message on a building's edifice was the first thing visible--blood-red graffiti that read, "MIRTH: Embrace It While You Still Can." The video panned over to the right, and suddenly a huge raging fire came into view, consuming what looked like a city street full of ruined cars, garbage cans, and other debris. The scene changed, and a bunch of shrill screams could be heard, coming from both female and male voices, as a much shakier view of a huge crowd of running people appeared on the screen. It was unclear what they were running from, but many of the people were covered in blood; a few of them were even missing a body part here and there. They were dodging around parked cars, and around burning debris, which glowed fiercely in what appeared to be the darkness of night time; then, a huge yellow eye filled up the screen, and an animalistic snarl almost broke the camera's weak speakers. The video stopped, the eye still visible, and Azzie continued to stare at the screen for a moment, wondering what on earth she'd just witnessed. Disturbed by the eye after a moment, she finally clicked the button for the next picture or video to be played back, and found only one other thing in the camera's memory.

It was a picture of a subway platform. A subway platform with no doors, stairwells, or any other exits to the outside world. And, as Azzie noticed with horror, looking slowly up from the camera to the wall nearest them, in both the image and real life, there was a long, thin rust stain about three feet down from the ceiling. Feeling her body go slightly numb, Azzie glanced back down at the camera with a sickly feeling in her gut, and finally brought herself to address the horrible truth. "Guys?" she said nervously. "I...I think this is where we are right now."

Raiiku caught up to Gavin on his third trip back to their new base. Dropping his stuff, he ran up to Gavin and jumped him. Having already seen him coming, Gavin had placed the bags he was carrying on the floor. "So what did you find?" the elder asked in a bored tone.

"Clothes, food, lots of meat, and a few surprises. Including my own power." Gavin put his arms around Raiiku. "I wish you hadn't. Thats just one more step to us staying here." Letting him go, he grabbing the things he had put down.

"Get the rest and bring it in. There are still creatures in these halls and we need to barricade the doors and windows."

"Right." Raiiku let go of Gavin and ran back to get his stuff, dragging it into the apartment. The two set about putting their new posessions away.

OOC: Is the rust stain meant to be blood or really rust stain? Sorry, but i am not quite following what is going on XD. So srry for the shitty post

Ryu

Ryu was just glad that Azzie was safe. Granted he feared that she was going to disappear like Yumi before, but she came back and that was all that mattered. Ryu was definitely afraid of becoming alone in this world. The train shuddered to a halt soon after they reunited with Azzie. They were still in the tunnel, so Ruy was hoping that there was an exit at this station.

"Guys?I...I think this is where we are right now."

Ryu was definitely not happy. Not only were there no exits, the train had stopped. Moreover, Azzie pointed out a rather disturbing looking stain on the wall.

Brilliant... stuck... what now?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nine
Truly, this was a headache. Nine disliked close confines such as tunnels. After all, she had always been flying through the sky on one of the Guild ships for her whole life. That, and if anything came down the tunnel, there was only one way they can escape from.
Indeed. This... is disconcerting. Is there any hints of exits or anything in that camera of yours?
Nine, being a being from a science world, did not quite like the idea of magic and mythical powers. Her abilities came from training and implants. However, the little digital camera in Azzie's hand could be some form of advance scanner for all she knew. The bottom line was, it was probably going to help them get out of this mess.
OOC: Don't worry about it, it's fine ^_^ It was just supposed to be a clue-ish sort of video and picture thing, to try to show that something bad had happened in the world. And it was just supposed to be a rust stain, mostly to show that it was the same train platform in the picture as in real life for them. Sorry I made it kind of unclear :ness: Also, after this one you can kind of just roll with it and make up whatever you want to if you want, I don't really have anything in particular planned for after this :hmmm:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Brilliant... stuck... what now?
Indeed. This... is disconcerting. Is there any hints of exits or anything in that camera of yours?
Both Ryu and Nine seemed to be just as disturbed by their new destination as Azzie was. Azzie, still staring down at the camera in horror, finally put together what Nine was saying, and turned her body so that she was standing approximately where whomever had taken the picture would have been standing. She looked up at their surroundings, and then back at the camera, trying to compare the two, but she couldn't really see any signs of any openings in either the picture or real life. What disturbed her even more so than that, however, was the fact that this particular camera, with this particular picture on it, had just happened to show up right where she would be likely to find it; it almost made her feel like someone was watching them or something. And the video before the picture...Was that what had happened to this world before they'd arrived there? It looked like something horrible had happened, and that something had likely involved some sort of monsters as well, given the huge yellow eye at the end of the film. She'd seen a few movies about people trying to survive in post-apocalyptic conditions, and those people's situations hadn't been pretty. There were always dangerous creatures lingering in the shadows, waiting to attack the last survivors....It was all too familiar to their current situation. Azzie finally shook her head at the others, and sighed. She started to take a few steps towards Nine, holding the camera out. "Nothing that I can see," Azzie replied sadly. "I mean, you can check it if you want, but--"
The stone tile Azzie had just stepped on suddenly gave way, and sank further into the ground with a scraping noise. Suddenly, over on the back wall of the platform, a huge fissure started opening up, and a big piece of the wall slowly sank down into the floor, revealing a pitch-black opening behind it, as though it were a secret door. Azzie stared at it in amazement; then after the rumbling sound it was making had died away, she started walking towards it slowly, and called over her shoulder to the others. "Nevermind, I think this is something right here!" she shouted, her expression brightening up a little, and continued on towards it, hoping there weren't any more ridiculous monsters within; she was really starting to get tired of this place. She tended to be a bit claustrophobic at times, and she supposed she could set aside her uneasiness about the camera's mysterious appearance for the time being.
She arrived at the opening to the secret door, and peered inside cautiously, trying not to make too many sudden movements. It had only looked dark inside from far away; now that she was standing right next to it, she saw that there was a dim light on in the place, and despite not being bright, it still illuminated the entire room, from what she could tell. Inside the room, which looked like a large dining hall or restaurant, there were no signs of living creatures; however, there were several round, elegantly-set tables with chairs around them, and atop those tables were massive plates and bowls of prepared food, waiting to be eaten. "Oh, food," Azzie whimpered; she was so hungry. If this were the world she was used to, she would have just run right up and eaten everything that was on one of the plates; but she didn't know why this food was here, or how fresh it would be considering there seemed to be no one around who would have made it. She stood there looking at it for a while, trying to decide what to do, and hoped that the others might have some input.
OOC: Then its Ryu's turn then to get an event up.
Sometimes, if i think its necessary, ill combine the two characters post. The more important person will have the post in their colour. I might as well get Ryu his power... and rid of Yumi's gun.
Ryu and Nine
"Nevermind, I think this is something right here!"
Sure enough, a fissure opened up and made a passage way. This was definitely freaky. Whoever heard of a subway with trap doors and secret corridors? There was little to do but to follow Azzie and watch her back. After all, who knew what might pop up up front. Ryu's companion reached the door and slowly opened it before coming into a room that was rather lavishly decked out.
"Oh, food,"
Indeed. The food on the table looked absolutely scrumptious and Ryu was starving. He did not eat before training, as that might elad to apenidicitis and he was teleported to this world before he could change. So all the time up till now, he had not had a bite.
Oh man, im starving lets eat!
Halt! Stop! Do you really think its wise to eat food left on a table?
Nine was right, but it was too late. Teen hunger had taken over Ryu and had taken a bite out of a bun when Nine shouted out. Not even her enhanced reflex was faster than Ryu's hungry mind.
Mmmm? Oh crap..... you're right.....
Nine pushed her way to the table and began inspecting all the food. Rui still had the bun in his hand and after a few minutes, Nine had a slightly satisfied look on her face... or what part anyone could see. However, just as Ryu was about to dive in again, something hit his stomach. He sunk to his knees, the bun tumbling to the ground. His grip on the butt of the pistol tightened as the pain surged and much to his surprise, at the climax of the pain, a square of the ground near his hand and his gun opened up underneath, appearing in purple colour. To his shock, Ryu's hand began to sink in and quickly, he withdrew his hand, dropping the gun. it quickly disappeared, as did the portal. He realised the pain was gone as quick as it came. Ryu felt a slight fuzz in his head but other than that, he was fine, but on his ass once again.
What the bloody hell was that?
(OOC: I don't have anything specific planned for after this Tipsy, so you can make up something if you want, or else I can if you want the next time I post.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ryu and Nine had followed Azzie into the new restaurant-like room. Ryu seemed to be just as hungry as Azzie, for he exclaimed with delight once he got in there.
Oh man, im starving lets eat!
Halt! Stop! Do you really think its wise to eat food left on a table?
Azzie had just been thinking the same thing. Ryu, however, seemed unable to resist the temptation, for he hurried over to one of the tables and started eating a bun. He seemed to realize the flaw in what he'd done, though, after the damage had already been done.
Mmmm? Oh crap..... you're right.....
Azzie watched as Nine rushed over and started inspecting the food, but she didn't seem to find anything noticeably wrong with it. However, there was definitely some sort of problem: Ryu suddenly dropped to the ground, and let go of the bun, his gun hand planted on the floor. He looked like he was in pain, or sick, or something; Azzie started to panic, not sure what they should do--they were a long way from any hospitals as far as she knew. As she was about to start looking around for some sort of bathroom--maybe he could try to throw it up--a purple square suddenly appeared below Ryu's gun hand, and his hand started disappearing into it before their eyes. Ryu pulled his hand out of it swiftly, unfortunately losing the gun in the process, and as soon as he had removed himself from it, the strange opening in the ground closed up, and vanished as though it had never been there in the first place.
What the bloody hell was that?
What indeed? Azzie immediately thought of her strange experience on the train she'd had herself, with disappearing from one place and ending up in another. It made her a bit uncomfortable to think that this world contained such oddities of physics that couldn't be easily explained. She went over to Ryu, and put her hand out, offering to help him to his feet. "Are you okay?" she asked.
She hoped that he was, and that he had merely had this happen because he'd eaten the bun; but at the same time, that made her very hesitant to try any of the food herself. And that was awful, because she was about ready to chew her own arm off. She looked around the room for any other openings or exits, and spotted a closed door at the other end. "Come on," she suggested, starting to head over to it, "maybe we should get out of here before anything else weird happens. Or before I start trying to eat any of this stuff myself, it looks way too good."
When she got to the door, she put her ear to it, and listened, trying to see if she could hear anything or anyone inside. She couldn't, unfortunately, so that would mean they would have to open it in order to find out. She stepped back away from it, and rubbed the back of her neck hesitantly. "Hmm, okay....Who wants to open it and go in first?"
OOC: Your turn. I made Ryu's power event. If i work out our own basic skeleton storyline, ill pop u a pm. For now, a short one for Nine to go first. Throw whatever you want at her.
Nine
"Hmm, okay....Who wants to open it and go in first?"
I will. Stand back. If anything happens, escape.
Jumping into the unknown was what Nine did best. However. Very little does she do so with baggages and at a time she did not know. For all she could know, it was in the middle of the day and jumping straight through a door into a encirclement of guns. That didnt worry Nine too much. It has happened before and if she survived, then the next time wouldnt be too different. Bayonet in one hand, handle in the other, Nine swung open the door, her mask HUD auto adjusting to light level inside the next area, whether it be dark or light, allowing her to see and react to anything that may pop out at them.
I will. Stand back. If anything happens, escape.
Azzie watched in anticipation as Nine stepped up and opened the door, blade in hand. As the door swung all the way open, Azzie could see a light on within, and as she peered around Nine, she saw a long table with nothing on it sitting in the center of the room. At the table, there was seated an elderly gentleman, who was bald, had on a long robe, and sported a lengthy grey mustache that drooped down almost level with the tops of his shoulders. He was staring at them placidly, as though he was not at all surprised to see them come in.
Azzie frowned at him; this was certainly the last thing she'd been expecting to find. What the hell was this guy doing here? She hoped he hadn't been sitting there waiting for them or something, like happened sometimes in adventure movies with wise, elderly people. He was giving her the creeps; and whatever advice he had for the three of them, if that was his purpose, she wasn't sure whether she wanted to take or not.
"Welcome!" said the man all of a sudden, and Azzie jumped, unprepared for his sudden verbage. "I've been waiting for the three of you!"
Oh God. Azzie cringed, and facepalmed; he was going to do the whole "I've been waiting for you" spiel. Figuring she should just listen to the guy for now and roll with it, she stepped into the room, staying at a safe distance from the man, and kept her rapier out in front of her, trying to look more defensive than threatening.
"There's no need to fear me," the geezer went on, barely moving at all as he spoke to them, except for his mouth. "I am only here to serve but one purpose: to answer one question of yours, anything of your choosing. I have waited here, conserving all of my energy, in hopes that one day people like you would show up, and set me free from this curse. You see, I am two hundred and eleven years old, and I have only been kept alive by them, to act as a warning to anyone who came by and trespassed here. As soon as you ask me that one question, my purpose will be fulfilled, and I can finally rest; so please," he coughed; it was obvious that he was starting to strain, "ask me something, and I will answer it to the best of my remaining abilities."
Wow, thought Azzie, as she eyed his increasingly uncomfortable-looking form with unavoidable pity. That was a ton of information right there; she had plenty of questions based on some of the things he had just said. Who were the "them" he was talking about? How were they able to curse him? By what invisible mechanism was he being kept alive? What would happen when they asked him the question, anyway? And two hundred and eleven--did that give them some sort of time frame now for figuring out how long ago this world had fallen to creepiness, or was he that old for some other reason?
Honestly, Azzie had no idea what to ask. However, she knew that this was a risky situation: if she asked Nine or Ryu aloud about what they should do, the old man might overhear her, and interpret that to be their one question by mistake. And, she couldn't ask the old man anything about what would happen next, because then that would count as the one question and they'd get no more information from him. In addition, if they asked the question with ambiguous or nonexclusive wording, they might get a crappy answer that didn't really help them out in the least.
Finally, resolving that the best thing to do would be to figure out how they could all get home, since that was their ultimate goal, Azzie cleared her throat, and asked the best question she could formulate. "Okay," she said bravely, straightening up, "our question is, How can the three of us here--" she pointed at herself, Ryu, and Nine "--all return to our original home worlds, as quickly and safely as possible, without being injured or dying in the process?"
She watched the man eagerly, awaiting his response, satisfied that she had asked a reasonably inclusive question; she was usually good at this sort of thing, which was another reason why she had volunteered it so quickly without trying to consult the others. The man seemed content to have been asked it as well, and he smiled pleasantly, leaning forward slightly and folding his hands. Finally, after a minute, he looked up at the ceiling above them, and pointed, with his hands still folded, at a hatch that had a ladder hanging down from within it. As Azzie watched, perplexed, the ladder very slowly slid down towards the ground, until the bottom of it was low enough for any one of the three of them to reach easily. Unable to see anything inside the hatch, due to the darkness within it, Azzie glanced from it back down to the man, hoping he would elaborate at least somewhat.
She was not disappointed. "Take that stairway, my friends," he said finally, "and you will find your way. You must follow the light within, and someday, you will make it home. That...is all that I can offer you." He then fell forward immediately, his head hitting the tabletop with a thunk, and he promptly disintegrated into a pile of dust, right before their eyes.
Azzie stared at the spot where he had been, stunned, then finally turned to look at the others. "Um...yeah," she said finally, hoping she had done the right thing in their eyes. "What, eh...what do you guys think we should do? Should we take the hatch out of here?"
