I seem to be in the minority when it comes to Final Fantasy X-2, because it's one of my favourite Final Fantasy games!

And the reason it's one of my favourites? Jobs!

I LOVE the job system, as ironic as it may seem with Final Fantasy VII being my all-time favourite, although I think not having the ability to change jobs in mid-battle would have added an extra degree of tactical thinking to the game play, the fact that it has a job system at all means I love this game!

What do other people think of the ability to change jobs in mid-battle? Does it make the system any better or worse than how battles work in, say, FFIII or FFV?

I never Play the game yet but if it's mutch better then FF-X then I will love it then

If you stop comparing it to FFX, it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I enjoy playing this game (though the battle system took a little getting used to) and the job system is, indeed, a fine addition.

But you have to compare it to FFX because it's a laginamate sequel not neccesarily a new game. And plus I mean i can see why you like it so much because of the mid-battle job change but is that the only reason why you love this game. You have to get broader than that. But anyway I'll just say this game was inferior to it's predeccesor. Even though it was a decent game it was a sorta let down in the long run.

i thought it was an ok game in spite of what is said about it. Although at one point i couldnt stand it, but after playin it again i realised its not really all that bad. But unlike u white mage i hate the job system.
However it cannot stand up to x at all, but sequels are never better anyway.

Any sequels are rarely better than the originals but this game still isn't as bad as people make it out to be and the Dress Spheres are one of those things that most people didn't like but seriously, if you've never played this game and you want to then buy it A.S.A.P

It's only a "sequel" to FFX in the way that it continues the same story...

The ONLY thing they have in common is their story, but it's a DIFFERENT game, so comparing FFX to FFX-2 is like comparing FFVII to FFXII.

Ok, i will have to say...IM IN COMPLETE AGREEMENT WITH WHITE MAGE.
I just love the jobs system.(and also expermeniting with how each girl looks as a different job). I honestly do., the only thing i didnt like about the jobs...all the weapons they used were from FFX. it would be cool to have different weapons. But all in all, having the ability to change jobs in battle was pretty awsome. And though i used the dark night dressphere...it was pretty much like a God mode thing to me(besides the mascot). As long as you had one alchemist, and mixed up a mega potion every turn. Then a dark night's darkness, Will eliminate everyone.

I admit, the jobs system is pretty cool, but there was just something in my head the whole time I was playing this saying "you shouldn't be liking this" I can't put my finger on it!

Isn't that what sequels are supposed to do

Yes, however when it comes to video games, you would naturally expect a "proper" sequel to continue with the same style of gameplay, etc. such as Kingdom Hearts which uses the same battle and level up system.

Almost all other games of a "series" use the same gameplay style too, such as the "...of Mana" Games, Grandia, Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog...

Even Zelda has a specific gameplay & battle style, the only exception being Zelda II which Nintendo must have realised was a mistake, hence returning to the style that we all know and love now.

While the Final Fantasy games have lots of things in common, FFX-2 shouldn't be considered a "proper" sequel to FFX because it doesn't use the same battle/level up system as FFX, only the storyline...

Similar to the films "The Wizard of Oz" and "Return to Oz" - while technically a sequel, it was a completely seperate movie with no real connection to the first one apart from the storyline.

True but i would like to see a different game instead of playing the same one if you understand me.

yea the job system in FF X2 was a great little twist on the game play the story line was not too shabby either but that was just good for me because i loved FF X it was amazing

I love the job battlesystem and I love being able to change jobs in battles. I think its such a fun and different battlesystem. Nice to see some old skool.

i personally couldnt stand the job system i am probably an old school person

i just like to say old games are classics

yes but it has been re-designed and in my opinion it is not up to the standards of the old job classes
