FFXIII: Favorite Characters

So who's your favorite character(s) in the game so far? Please be sure to state the reason why and try to avoid spoilers as much as possible. If need be, use spoiler tags.

I love most of the characters but Lightning mainly won me over. She's just bad-ass in my eyes and I love her attitude. Tough and quite reserved, she also has that caring side in her. I wish there were more heroines like her in general to be honest.

Another character is Fang. I have to say, at first I didn't like her for some reason, but now that I've got to see more of her personality, she makes me laugh. Probably moreso than Sazh. That one scene towards the end of Chapter 7 with her and Lightning talking was quite funny.

I'll add more later once I'm deeper into the storyline. Just wanted to get this started.

Hope is my favorite, he's so angsty and upset I love him /sarcasm.

No, my favorite is either Lightning or Fang, so far. Snow is pretty awesome too. I like Lightning as she's a bad ass, though she can at times be really stupid (example: punching Snow. Grow up, Lightning.) but usually she's really cool. Fang is also pretty bad ass and has a likable personality. Snow is the hero, as he states many times. I also like his undying love for Serah. He's just a really good guy, kinda naive sometimes, but he means well.

hmmm this is a tough question ...... mine would have to be Lightning
she is just an overall bad ass girl. he swords and guns are just the best weapon in the world and its like an evolution of the gunblade which was amazing in FFVIII.

Even thou I really haven't played the game since I do not have it myself I have managed to spoil myself enough to have a few faveorites of the game's cast.
Of the main cast, which includes our beloved playable characters I must say that even thou Lightning, Fang, Sazh, Snow and Vanille are all awesome I have been drawn to Hope.

I like how Hope is. Yes people might hate how he acts and how he is just like every other angsty teenager, but I somewhat can relate to him couse I would be just as him. Next segment will be in a spoiler tag.

I love how hope grows throughout the game. How he goes from Hopeless (pun intended) too a much more mature individual that really can survive. I think that was proven when he was ready to protect snow after Hope's outburst that in the end threw them off that.. place. Overall I love Hope as a character and his growth through the game is really credible.

I'd say Lightning and Hope are my favourite characters, potentially some of my most used characters overall due to their usefulness, however I believe during the game there was a lot of focus on the character developments of Lightning and Hope and this gets shown as you progress through the game, of course this happens with other characters I believe it just shows strongly with Lightning and Hope

Mine are Sazh and Fang. They both make me lark and the 2 I wasnt expecting to like! Vanille is adorable and Ill always love her no matter what happens. Hope is driving me mad as all he does is bitch, moan and just gets on my tits. Snow IMO is a jerk. Im sick of his whole knight in shining armour act. Stop shouting "SERAH!!!", its pissing me off now!! I liked him at first, but now he can jump off a cliff with Hope. Lightning is a so-so character for me. Yeah shes strong and determined, but Im getting too much Cloud and Squall personas here.

 

[Gingerbread Lesbian]

Sazh and Fang. Sazh, to me is one of those characters that you enjoy seeing, he plays his part extremely well imo especially the emotional parts. I like the fact that in reality he's just an ordinary level-headed bloke who unfortunately got caught up in the mess. Fang is just epic win, I haven't really got to the point where you see a lot of her but from I have seen I'm very impressed.

I like hopes dad cuz i was always a fan of the part in the trailer "your my son!".I also like the black guy that travels with snow,hes cool.Lightning is serious,Sahz is funny,snow is cool,vanille is hot,hope always has hope,fang is the strongest imo.

Sazh is perhaps my favourite character so far. At some points, Sazh does say a few lines that are hilarious despite the humour being unintended. He just exhibits an attribute missing in the other characters. I love how done to earth he is. He sees something odd happening and genuinely wants to know what the hell is going on. He is a normal person who is pulled into this plight out of his desire to

Lightning is a protagonist I have really enjoyed seeing so far. She does seem cold, reserved and dismissive at first, but she opens up to the others eventually. She genuinely loves and cares about her sister Serah - and eventually

as well. Fang, like Lightning is tough and bad-ass. I am loving her accent and it's interesting to see that she has a very caring side as well.

Finally, I'm finding Cid Raines an interesting character. I don't know much about him so far and I'm looking forward to later. Like FFXII's Doctor Cid, Raines looks like a very interesting new take on the recurring FF name. He seems to be keen to

[Oerba Yun Fang]

Lightning.

The two obvious reasons. 1. She's independent, strong and badass. And 2. She's gorgeous (look at her arms.. omg... yes they are toned, but it's not just that.. there is something about those arms...)

She's refreshing in a series full of wimpy girls always falling for the strong manly men.

Fang.

Funny, beautiful, protective, caring, smart etc etc. I think she's awesome. And

Sazh.

Just an all round likable, funny guy.

I love how this game is full of awesome females. So refreshing. My main party is usually all the girls. .. hmm.. it seems overall the females in this game are the better characters and in combat. This makes me smile

Lightning- At first she seems a bit distant and cold but slowly she's coming out of her shell. I really enjoy watching her open up. Personally I think it was Hope that helped her and really showed her how to let out your emotions. While she, taught him something as well. At first I thought: "Oh great anotherCloud/Squall." but now that i'm seeing a different side of her, I was proven wrong and now, I understand why she's the way she is. She's also.. very smart i'd say. She seems to be a step ahead of everyone else. I've really grown attached to Lightning as a character. She's very fierce but, she knows what she's doing. Great character IMO =]​

Sazh- From the very start of the game he always seemed like the typa-guy that looses up the tension-- which does. He's very edgy and a really enjoyable character. He's funny as well which, is a plus in my book He's very laid back from what i've seen and he just goes with the flow. He seems like a good guy and means no harm xD He just wants answers. He really has no clue he's just trying to help him son which is very cute=] and shows that he's very kind as well. ​

[MVP]

My favorite character would have to be Vanille.

She is pretty clumsy and somewhat annoying. But she is the only person who is any exciting in this game imo. She adds some fun in a rather dull group of characters. On top of that she is very very hot!

I also like Lightning.

She reminds me a lot of Cloud and Squall. Keeps to herself most of the time, but speaks when she has to and is a leader. She also cares for her friends. On top of that she is pretty badazz.

Sazh and Lightning for sure.

Lightning is pretty much badass. I also think she has the deepest personality in the whole game and it's nice to see her evolution from the cold soldier archetype to a more open and caring person. Also, she's the strongest character in my party. >.>

Sazh is also really good.

"You mean he can fight, cast kickass magic, and be funny at the same time?"

I like his backstory as well. He's probably the one characer I can sympathize with the most.

Okay well Lighting and fang is my two fav

I love lighting because to start with four years ago when i saw her, I saw her when she had her sword out and you see her face with hair moving back and forth.
Right then i was froozen for like 2 secs. i Thought she was real for jus a sec since i know this sound stupid but right away i was memorize by her.
Know that i am playing the game. i am on chapter 12 play 58hr so far, i really got emotinaly close to her if she dies at the end i will yell scream. i would cry for hrs,
it just that she is kind as well as strong and she just so perfect in many ways.

fang i love her voice her personality is awesome to, she rocks all in all.

3rd fav is vanille i just like how she know so much however so naive at the same time she very fun.

4th is hope i like chidren and at first he was a bit annoying however i undrstood why, and thn he started to grow and change i really like that.

5th is sazh ya he cool funny and all and love the baby bird, however i always have dislike men so that why he 5th.

know 6th snow well i just wont to stab him, shut up about the hero already he to prideful and arrogant.

I like Vanille & Sazh

Sazh is just funny all thru the game up to where I am (I'm on chapter 12), he has his moments where what he says or does makes me laugh at him. But, he is also really down to earth and sincere. His search for answers and the way his relationships with the others form are fun to watch. The scenes

in Nautilus with nabaat and Vanille

add much more character to him, humanize him futher and make him more lovable. His relationship with Vanille is strengthened during the chapters they travel alone and those chapters were so much fun to play and watch.

Vanille' additude reminds me of Zidane's in FFIX.. happy go lucky and cheerful even in the worst of times. I also think she's just sexy.. she has a beautiful face, sexy legs, and her accent makes me wish she was real. Like Sazh, she has some funny lines at times and can make me laugh. The relationship between her and Hope is probly my favorite so far.

I really like Sazh and Vanille at the moment!

Sazh is really funny. I like that he comes across as down to earth. He just seems much more level headed then everyone else and I love him for it. <3 Awesome character.

Vanille is just cute and I love that she is a bit silly. >.< She's rather enjoyable to be around and although the hyperness can get a bit too much sometimes I don't mind it. It's better than being sad. >.<

I kinda went off Hope for that reason. =/ He started to get a bit depressing. v_v

Vanille is cute, but seriously, I really want to know where the hell that voice actor of hers actually grew up. I mean, there's just too much emphasis on the aussie accent. >.<

Fang on the other hand is what most Aussies sound like and she's a lot easier to listen to. XD Though Vanille's is still cute. XD

I thought I was really going to like Snow, but I was wrong. <_<

He is hot, yes. But he is so freakin' full of himself it seems. He just puts on the hero part far too strong and is constantly screaming out 'Serah!'

But yeah I won't go on much more seeing as this is meant to be about characters you like. >.<

My favourite characters are Fang & Snow.

Fang because i love her accent and attitude.

Snow because he acts so cool-minded

 

[Saga]

First:
Snow. I've liked this guy from the moment I watched the trailers. Yes, he acts all cool and looks like a complete idiot sometimes, but that just makes him all more endearing to me. He has such a caring side that it makes him reckless... when all he's trying to do is make things right and protect those he cares about. He's also quite funny. I just think he's a well thought out character.

Second:
Hope. I just love this little guy. The way he progresses throughout the story and goes from angsty little teenager to maturing is nice to see. He's not your typical teenage boy who is frustrated over some trivial thing. He has a real reason behind it and it takes him time to overcome that.

Three:
Fang and Vanille and Sazh. I love these three about the same. They're all really funny but at the same time add something to the other characters. They're witty and charming without being cheesy. Fang is just so... She's the most 'kick-ass' as some might say. She takes no shit, laughing it off and getting on with what she has to do. Vanille is the pretty, happy-go-lucky character so of course... nearly everyone loves her. XD She's so bubbly but when you see her fears, it's really touching because you realize there's a whole other side to her and Sazh... he has some of the funniest lines. I think he's fantastic. I laugh every time he comes on screen (so to speak)

Fourth:
Lebreau, Serah, Maqui and Yuj
Three of these NPC's... may not be seen but they left an impression on me nonetheless. As for Serah... need I say anything more?

Now this isn't to say I hate Lightning, but to be perfectly honest, her attitude throughout the early chapters realllllly grinded my gears. I've seen that whole "ice-queen" bit before, hell, I write it enough on some of my characters so it just felt worn out. Later on in the story, I like her more. She's not up there as a favourite character however, because I do much prefer the others.

I like all the characters, to be truthful. But my favorites are;

Hope
I know a lot of people see him as a whiny teenager, but I'd be pretty whiny if my mother died, too. And as the story goes on, he slowly matures. I found it refreshing to see him bond with the other characters. To me, he's a kid that's pulled into a complete mess and it takes some time for him to adjust to everything.

Snow
As much as he can bother me at times, he's still one of my favorites. He's a good guy that means well, but he screws up every now and then. And he doesn't know how to handle the consequences of his actions, so he just keeps on pretending everything's okay. But he'll keep his promises no matter what.
