fight for a future

as Stephen burst throught the asteroid Field, the DRAGOON spikes were cuting a clear path through, any Ginn that got in Stephen's way was getting decapitated or disabled. Stephen wasn't in the mood for killing people anymore. as he burst throught, he didn't slow down, he noticed a glint out of the corner of his eye, he flipped around and activated the Beam shields on his forearms and blocked the attack.

"COME GET SOME" Stephen shouted as he flipped the Freedom around, the Xiphias rail cannons sliding into firing position "STOP ATTACKING YOU SCUM BAGS" he shouted as he fired two rounds, from each, taking down the Nazca class's weapons.

OOC: Stephen, please do not notice the three eyes in your next post as they are meant to have a significant storyine purpose in my next post.

The two Nazca ships launched their Ginns , who took cover behind the astroids which ringed the small opening in the debris field. While Stephen concentrated on the rear force, the main amuch force closed in from the front, the semi circle becoming tighter and the fire from the front more intense.

Stephen! Ignore the Nazca! Leave suppressing the rear to the Earth Gundams. We need to punch straight through the middle so that the Earth guys can rendevous with their ships on the other side.

Riina let off another trio of shots from her HBR and two Ginns disappeared in a cloud of fire. Riina was not as suited to these opposing side battles. Either she gets straight into their midst for extreme close quarter or she snipes from afar, out of their range. Stephen was more ideal in this range. Stepping lightly on the throttle, Le Cygne began inching forward towards the main Z.A.F.T force. Little does the E.A nor the Hunters know, that above them, three pair of electronic eyes stared down at the battle. The plan was going without a hitch.

Computer: "Kira, the charge is almost ready."

Kira Matsumoto slowly closed on the battle occuring between ZAFT, ESA, and the Hunters. Coming in from long range, he sees the Nazca ship and lots of Ginns. With the backbreaker charged, it was time for him to make his presence known to both sides of this war. Taking careful aim, I fire at the Nazca engines, then store my gun on my pack and draw my first beam sabre and head to the battle full speed.

The first Ginn that runs into me takes a shield slash straight across the chest part, then I spin and take a second Ginn's head off. I flip the beamsword backwards, take the shield in one hand and fling it at the next Ginn. Taking it back as I pass, I continue on toward the Nazca. Opening a communication channel to the Earth and hunter units, I call out, "I've got the Nazca, handle the Ginn's!"

I start to charge the Backbreaker again for a second shot, dodging to the back so I can hit the engines.

The Earth forces look confused, just long enough for the Ginn's to destroy them. "Stupid!" Kira slides behind the Nazca and fires a direct shot into the engines.

The engines go dead. "All right, I knew that would work. Now to handle the Ginns." Sliding backbreaker onto my back, I draw the sword and shield combo again. I destroy Ginn after Ginn , never failing to get my hits 'spin, strike, slash, dodge.' Easy pickings, most of them. keeping my eye on the Nazca's guns, not aloowing them to get a lock on me, they do more damage to the Ginn's than anything else.

'Begin charging backbreaker.'

OOC: Ah... maybe its my bad for not saying so in the OOC thread, but Firion, can you make your character not be in the battle? There is a sig plotline event for this battle and it'll sorta lose a bit of its affect if there are more than two of us For now. ill OOC you when its okay to come in to the battle. Conversely, you can be somewhere else if you dont want to wait a small bit.

the Freedom burst throught the battle field, cutting down suit after suit with precision and grace. "Is this the best Z.A.F.T has to offer?" Stephen announced as he decapitated a Ginn and then one of the DRAGOON spikes shot it through the chest causing it to explode.

out of knowhere a beam launched past the Freedom's cockpit, and when the Freedom flipped to face the direction the shot came from, he saw the Destiny, holding it's large beam cannon "the next one won't miss" the pilot announced through a global channel. Stephen gritted his teeth and connected his two beam rifles together.

as he took aim, the two Xiphias rail cannon's flipped into firing position on the SF's hips, and Stephen unleashed a volley of three shots.

"You've seen the power of my cannon. I am neither a Z.A.F.T. nor Earth Alliance member. I am no hunter. I wish the end of this war and fight only to that end." Targeting the computer firing node on the ship, I fire, almost instantly destroying the targeting bay. "So, now that your ship is completely disabled, I give you five minutes to vacate it before I use my Backbreaker to annihilate every last vestige of it's existance. My next target is your bridge. If I don't see a lot of escape pods very soon, it will be gone."

Moments later, a huge amount of escape pods leave, but one mobile suit comes out. Shortly, a universal channel issues me a stern riposte warning.
"You will not take this ship, bastard. I will break you into pieces."

The show of Bravado falls on deaf ears as his Ginn Trainer comes towards me. "A captain going down with his ship. How noble." Backbreaker slips into my holder, and my shield and beam sword are in my hands. Without hesitation, I remove his units left arm with the sword, and the right with my shield blade. I push away his unit, and send him a message.

"You are immobilized. Please leave. I want to cause no more death."

"You will cause mine or die yourself!"

"Fine!" Upset at his foolishness, I remove his units legs in the same manner as his arms, and release the body of the unit into the atmosphere. "He will never quit, so I will make him. Charge backbreaker."

When the remains of the Ginn trainer burn up in the atmosphere, I turn and use some line to put together the escape capsules, and drop them in a ZAFT safe area, so they can go home. I return to the Nazca and start repairs on my new base.

OOC: Stephen, i specifically asked that you not notice Destiny and the others. So since it will affect the mission i had, i need to sorta cancel the last part. This mission will be a failure.

Strike Freedom and Le Cygne easily tore through the measily ambush line of the ZAFT forces. Not only were there not enough to hold the duo if they were together, but the fact that it was in an asteroid field that the average no-name pilots had absolutely no chance in hitting them. Like birds of prey, both Hunters swerved and dove, picking off the central platoon like fleas and before long, only two Ginns occupied the central area.

Go! We have punched through the central sector. Retreat at full speed while we keep off those on the flank.

Thanks a heap! we'll head off now!

The strike daggers took off at full speed, with the covering fire from the Hunters. Riina gave a small sigh of relief, knowing that their mission is done. Just as Le Cygne turned from their quarry, four beams shot out from nowhere, punching through the cockpits of the Strike daggers. Her reflex in battle made Riina begam to start moving whilst tracing her rifle towards the origin when the whole central area of the asteroid belt went up in a gigantic explosion, engulfing both Stephen and Riina along with all ZAFT units. Before the heat and explosion has diminished, From every angle, beams criss-crossed the entire area, shredding up pretty much anything remaining.

Destiny, Legend and Impulse Blast blasted inwards, knowing full well that they could not depend on just that to defeat the two hunters. Only first hand witness of the destruction of both robots could they be satisfied.

Strike Freedom floated slightly in space, with slight damage to its limb, thankfully to the Trans Phase Shift armour. Its jet pack, however, was worse off, limiting maneauvers. Le Cygne just so happened to be sheltered by large asteroids before the explosion and escaped with only a destroyed left leg. It floated aimlessly and dead in space.

God damnit! MOVE CYGNE! MOVE!

The three suits primary target was Stephen. Despite
his skills and superior suit, with teh damaged jet pack, acute evasive battle maneauvers were highly improbable. Stephen grunted in fustration at the disability he has been given and it took all his skills to go on the defensive.

It was a horror show all over again for Riina. She had just lost Mary and just reconciled with Stephen. She could not stand to watch another of her friends be butchered in front of her. With a violent kick, Le Cygne shuttered back to life.

Legend and Impulse let loose with its dragoons and its cannons, keeping Strike Freedom on evasive maneauvers with the limited propulsion Stephen had. In a last second, Stephen raised his energy shields to block a direct hit from Impulses waist cannons when the jet pack failed. With no propulsion, Stephen fell downwards, straight towards Destiny with its Anti ship sword.

SHIT!

The wide sweeping blade came ever closer when a vpoice ripped through the comms.

STEPHEN!!!! RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The broken Le Cygne shot out from where it was and collided heavily with Strike Freedom, before the Anti-ship sword bit deep into the cockpit of Le Cygne

KYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Le Cugne glowed birght white before an explosion ripped through the area, setting off three remaining dud explosives. With the massive explosions, the wrecked remains of Le Cygne plummeted towards Earth.

Strike Freedom, from the massive explosion, was shot straight out towards the edges of the asteroid field, its engines still dead.

Riina! RIIIINA!

Tapping rapidly at the keyboard, Stephen vainly attempted to restart Strike Freedom when Legend, Destiny and Impulse emerged. Before a shot couyld be fired, the air between the two groups filled with ship beams from the late Archangel.

ZEERIA! RETRIEVE STRIKE FREEDOM!

~~~~~
The smoldering wreckage of Le Cygne had dropped through the atmosphere and crashed down towards the Iceland peaks. Smoke rose from the twisted metal as the reentrance seared the pieces, rising miles high into the air.
An Earth Alliance tiltrotor, guarding by a prototype Gundam flew in to secure the crash site. They were not sure as to what crashed out there in the mountains and icecaps of Iceland.
The Pilot of the Gundam said, "How long until we get to where we are going, Sea Goblin?"
"We should be near the impact site, just keep protecting us with the Airmaster Burst, Empress."
"Understood"
The impact site was in Central Iceland, around 140 miles away from Heaven's Base in Reykjavik. But that didn't stop those concerned with the defense of the Island state of the Eurasian Federation.
The two units made it to the crash site, leading the pilot of the Airmaster Burst to experience a set of memories in her mind about the Battle at New England. As she got closer. she saw the suit, which led to the flowing of memories about Le Chgne and it's pilot. These memories started to give "Empress" a headache.
"What's wrong Empress?"
"Empress'" headache went away. "It's nothing"
I think the unit is a Gundam, we need you to break open the suit.
AB flew over the twisted remains of Le Cygne, finding the biggest part of the wreck, she tore it open to reveal it's pilot, the same pilot from her dreams since working with the EA, However therte was not much time as she was in Critical Condition
The Tiltrotor team flew over the open cockpit and sent in a marine to get the pilot, latch Riina on to the rope and pull them back up to the Helicopter, "This is Sea Goblin, we have secured the crash site and have found a wounded pilot, taking her back to Heaven's Base."
After the Communique with the base, both "Empress" and "Sea Goblin started flying returning to base.
Zeria had been back inside, but when the order was called out, she pulled her helmet back on, got everything ready for the Blitz, and took a deep breath.
"Zeria Iiyasei in the Blitz! Ready for launch!"
She took to the sky, her heart racing, breath rapid, tears welling in her eyes, immediately activating her phase shift armor.
"Stephen...please be alright!"
Zeria arrived at the battlescene, manuevering the Blitz next to the Freedom, and grabbing hold of it.
"Come on, Hownam! Gimme an answer! Are you alright?!"
She was bringing them both back to the Archangel as fast as she could manage...
Stephen was in a state of shock, all he could see in his head was the le cygne plummiting to earth "riina" he muttered as Zeria's voice came into Stephen's cockpit through the com "Come on, Hownam! Gimme an answer! Are you alright?!" Stephen shook his head and activated his outgoing com channel "I'm good, asides a thumping headache and us hunters falling like flies"
OOC: Something small so Leader can post.
Unknown time period prior contact with EF forces.
The temperature soared like no tomorrow and it was cooking Riina, literally. All plastic consoles and non durable materials began melting whilst the metal warped and began glowing. Despite the lack of puncture wounds on Riina and her suit, saving her from frying, all Riina could see through the white and blue space helmet was dyed in an angry red. Breathing became laborous and she knew the extent of her injury. Even being a Coordinator, this seemed like it was it.
Ah.....ah....Fabiola.....Inglesia....
Her final thoughts drifted towards those closest to her, her own alter egos. As sad to say it, Riina felt that she herself was her closest friend.
Damnit Riiina! Keeeeeep awak......
SHIT! Keep it together you tw......
Bulkheads buckled and the cockpit seemingly appeared to be crushed by a compressor. A violent cough ripped through Riina's body, spewing forth another stream of blood whilst pain wracked throughout her body before a seamline burst open with air streaming through. It was cold, meaning the wreckage of a cockpit had survived reentry. The warmth seemed to drain from her body, doubly so due to the cold atmospheric air. Riina could hear how fast she was going by the whipping wind through the numerous opening in Le Cygne.
This really is it.........
She managed to mutter before the cockpit cage collided heavily into the Iceland alps.
~~~~~~

It was like a dream, all was still blurry and everything so...surreal. There seem to be jolting movement through her body, but no pain, even with all the damage.

No feeling...a dream...?

Ambient noises of rotors, engines and the shouting of orders were...all so familiar...the scene she could feel from the noises reminded her of her days in Z.A.F.T and her first shave at death from explosive decompression in a ship.

The flash of life before death...? Yeah... i feel sleepy...let's rest shall we...?

Riina had to wonder before her eyes flickered closed once more.

The Tiltrotor and Airmaster Burst docked at Heaven's Base in Reykjavik, the men in the chopper, got Riina out and rushed her to the emergency room within the base.

Mary on the other hand docked off and headed to the briefing room to be debriefed. They were going to send in another group to check out the destroyed Mobile Suit and see what was the situation there. But otherwise, from had been confirmed, the wounded pilot was a Hunter.

After debriefing, she headed to her quarters, but the images in her head from getting the pilot remained in her head.

"That pilot....who is she? And why do I have images about her?"

Zeria just barely made it back into the hangar bay, docking the Blitz after making sure the Freedom was docked.

"Hownam. Open your cockpit. I'm gonna look you over quick"

She quickly slid out of the Blitz, drifting over to the Freedom. Once Stephen opened the cockpit, she would be in there at his side immediately. She'd left her helmet in the Blitz.

"You're pretty battered..."

Her fingertips skimmed his body as she searched for any critical injuries.

"Your head probably took the most bang of it all...can you take off your helmet carefully so I can take a look?"

She was trying not to show him just how worried and upset she was. Her body was shaking, and her breathing rapid. She was on the verge of tears too, but she refused to let him see that. Zeria just wanted to know if he was alright...

Stephen smiled as he opened the cockpit and Zeria burst in, as she began checking him over, she demanded he remove his helmet, so Stephen complied, the helmet came of and floated away, Zeria was shaking, and Stephen looked her in the eye "Zeria, I'm fine" he muttered to her, a hint of kindness in his voice "although, im pritty sure my right shoulder is dislocated, so if you could reframe from leaning on it, i would be much appreciative" Stephen informed her in a less serious tone.

Zeria nodded, taking care to be gentle on him. As his helmet floated away, her fingertips going to his face, just brushing over his cheeks. One tear escaped, rolling down her own pale cheek.

"I was so scared that you'd been hurt..."

She was trembling worse now.

"So scared that they would really kill you...and I'd lose you too..."

Zeria's gaze fixed on his, tears finally beginning to stream down her cheeks, her voice cracking.

"Because my heart is yours...and without you, I'm just an empty being..."

Stephen raised his left arm up and placed it on Zeria's cheek, wiping away her tears with his thumb, just as gently as hhis hand placement. "Zeria, your not gonna loose me" Stephen informed her, before leaning forward and kissing her on the forehead "your not that lucky" he joked as he removed his left hand from her cheek and used it to push himself out of the cockpit, taking Zeria with him.

"anyway, i got to get to the doc, he gotta sort my shoulder so i can kill the bastards who broke the Freedom" Stephen announced, before shouting down to the head mechanic "hey, get to work, fix him up okay"

Stephen floated towards the door and headed towards the infirmary, he needed to have his shoulder relocated. . . how fun.

The sky was a crystal blue...so blue that not even a crisp of cloud lingered in the sky. A slight breeze blew through, sending a wave through the air, causing the vivid green grass to bend and wave, its tips grazing the pale skin along Riina's body. Her eyes stared vacatly into the crystal blue, dilated and blank, her hair flowing with the wind. It was peaceful. There was a slight rumble in the distance, but she did not move and from nowhere, cloud began materialising atop of Riina, darkening ever more before the blue sky was no more...

~~~~~
*GASP! WHEEZE!* HUUUGH HAH....HUUUGH HAH....
Both eyes shot open and a dark object loomed over her head, its features obscured by the blaring bright loght behind its shape. Her breathing was restricted and Riina felt like she was going to suffocate. Her right hand lashed out with trained precision whilst her left shot to her face. IV lines ripped from their spot and the oxygen mask flew from her face. The paralyzing palm strike landed close to its mark, but the object managed to deter it enough from stunning it.
Riina tumbled from the gurney and struggled to her feet, all energy seemingly fleeing from her limbs. Both naked feet backpedalled to the corner of the wall till her eyes would adjust to the lighting. It was a hospital room with surgical equipment nd she herself was in a patients robe. She could tell not by sight as everything was still a blur, but by the breeze she felt all over her bare skin.
Beep.....Beep....Beep....
The man struggled to his feet, putting his hand on the gurney for support. He was alone and seemed harmless. As Riina's sight returned, she could tell he was no fighter, dressed in the manner of a medical person. Nonetheless, Riina grabbed onto a surgical knife in her feeble hand and pathetically tried to hold some defensible position.
Where...where...am i? Who...are you...?
OOC; Maybe you could come in leader?
OOC: Right..
IC: The man said to Riina after he saw her desperate position, "Don't be scared, I'm only here to help you. You're in an infirmary in Reykjavik. I am Dr. Bazaine and I'm not going to hurt you. What's your name?"
---------------
While walking down the hallway through the infirmary, Mary heard a crash coming from one of the rooms. Running towards that specific room, she encountered the doctor trying to console a young girl feebly holding a surgical knife in her hand. She was wearing a white no-sleeve shirt and white bra as well as combat pants that she had not taken off since her mission to rescue her.
Mary said, "Are you ok? Who are you?"
"Hey doc, could ya hook me up with a shoulder relocation please?" Stephen questioned as he floated through the doors of the infirmary. "Mr Hownam, it's strange seeing you here, i figured i would only get to see you when your dead, or in critical condition" the doctor joked "but a simple dislocated shoulder, you do yourself no justice" the doctor added before grabbing Stephen's arm and yanking down hard, unleashing a large hollow crack into the empty room.
letting out a short argh, stephen Grabbed his shoulder and glared at the doctor "was there any need to be so rough" Stephen blurted out "with a dislocated shoulder. . . yes" the doctor replied, pausing a short moment before his yes. the Doctor strapped Stephen up and sent him on his way, informing him to rest his shoulder for a couple of days before returning to his cockpit, but being the person Stephen was, he wouldn't listen to the doc, he never did.
Her eyes were still rather off, but Riina's ears worked fine as the ringing had stopped. She could hear that he said he was a doctor, but that didnt stop her from being defensive. A few seconds past while the adrenaline died in her system and the pain kicked in.
Huagh....Huagh....
Pain ripped across her chest as she remembered she had some broken ribs. All strength drained from her legs as the pilot slid to the ground, her legs giving out on her. As Riina tried to recover, a woman walked in from the sound of her voice.
"Are you ok? Who are you?"
The voice was so clear in Riina's head. With unexpected strength, Riina's head shot up and her eyes widened before she jumped forward towards the woman.
Mary! Oh my god...You're alive ! *sob*
Tears streamed from Riina's eyes as she hung limply onto her dear friend, sobbing into Mary's chest. Her emotions were sent into overdrive, making her act the teen she was. Her chest heaved with sobs, ever relieved that her friend had survived.
