What final fantasy chracters do you think are ugly?

I think jecht, barret,cid(all versions except xiii),balthier,basch Rude,reno,hojo,heidigger,wakka,aeris,auron are the ugliest ff characters ever.
 
I am so happy you are back applet! Your posts were always interesting and full of good insight.

And the first that comes to mind is Snow. Get a haircut man :hmph: And the trench coat is laughable.

Nooj is also scary not good looking. His hair and outfit is...well you all know what he looks like.

Also why do you only list guys? You found no ugly women :gasp:
 
applet! You're back! Just the other day I sent out a tweet asking for you, Mr. Zombie, and Shinra Executive to come back, and all but SE have come back today. Dreams do come true!... With that out of the way, I'll say Jecht is pretty ugly. His overall character design is kinda ugly. Besides him... That's all I got. :sad3: (for now)

There are a few ff girls that i think are ugly

Aeris: Ugliest ff girl ever. she's a manipulative succubus. Her clothes an hair are hideous too.

lightning: she'd be hot if she were a dude but shes ugly as a butch chick.
Paine: ugly butch dyke
Ultimecia: ugly hair ugly face
Garnet: deformed miget just live everyone in the game
Vanille: looks like a dumbass

I guess Seymour looks pretty silly with his pot belly and stupid overhanging robe.

Also not feeling Paine's hair, but mehh.
 
Quina. I always thought he/she was so ugly. Also, I have to agree about Aerith, probably the ugliest female main character in all the games. Cinna (ffviii) was very ugly too. Then there's Wakka. Zidane wasn't very good looking either. I always imagine him much better looking than he actually is.
 
I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Queen Brahne yet. She was the QUEEN of Ugly ! Haha how punny ! :britt:

Hmm, let me think. None really jump out aside from Brahne, but i'm sure I can find some others to insult.
Okay so;
Vincent - The emo look just doesn't cut it anymore. (Harsh, I know but I want a substantial list rather than just Brahne)
Selphie - The hair just doesn't do it for me.
Zell - Facial tattoos are a no-no. Were they taking the piss out of Mike Tyson?
Irvine - Cool guy but kinda looks like a girl, very feminine facial features, the hair doesn't help either.
Quina - Fat mess, what even is it?
Steiner - Rusty armour and a face like a smacked arse. Not small either.
Freya - Ratty features aren't prominant in the 'list of things I find attractive'
Amarant - Stand up straight atleast, poor posture. Not to mention a haircut would do nicely. (I really notice hair...)
Zidane - Kinda looks like a girl too.
LuLu - She wouldn't be even half as popular if she didn't have her rack to fall back (or forward :') ) onto.
I see what you mean about Lightning being kinda butch but I wouldn't say she's ugly.

Wow. :lew: I think some of the characters listed are attractive, although it seems strange to say that about a fictional character. ;)

Wakka has been listed here. His clothes and hair leave much to be desired, but if you look at his facial features, he's not ugly. He just needs a stylist! ;)

Nooj also has a soft, handsome face, although his hair is ridiculous.

Girls like Vanille, Lulu, Selphie and Paine all have very pretty faces! Vanille's hair is just too childish whilst Paine's hair and clothes are too butch! I quite like Lulu's hairstyle - it suits her - and there's something stylish about her dress in the game itself, but it would not look good in real life! Those belts would just look too stiff.


The characters who are ugly... hmm, Queen Brahne, without a doubt. ;) She's heavily made-up and grotesque! Seymour isn't ugly per se, but he's the most unattractive character I have ever had the displeasure to watch in any game, movie or TV series. I hate him with a passion, which is a first for me! He makes my jaw tense in frustration! >.< Kuja's...odd looking. He looks like an incredibly creepy china doll - it's the pinched nose, porcelain skin and thin lips! I think Zidane, Garnet, Brahne and Beatrice would all look attractive in their own way were they more realistic. Zidane has a baby face, but he'd grow into it. :lew:
 
I know my opinion will be in the minority when I say this, but I feel Rikku in X or X-2 isn't attractive at all. I mean showing off the sides of your thong(or whatever the hell she has under there) doesn't exactly reek of hotness. It smells more like tackiness and slutiness, which is a big turn off for me.

^I thought Rikku was fine in FFX; she was very cute! HOWEVER, the design in FFX-2 was terrible, as well as her saying stuff like "poopy" at the end of something and passing it onto Yuna. -_-

Back to the thread! What a mean thread! ...But alas, I shall participate, as there were some bad designs. In FF8, Squall, Quistis, Zell, and Selphie REALLY need outfit changes. Then, Paine. And the last one I have to say is Seymour. Everyone knows that! He was voted one of the worst looking villains in video games on 1Up, I think it was. His hair, the belly showing...ugh! And his voice... -_-

Aeris is so pretty and beautiful to me! Perhaps, to me, the best designed FF female ever. As for Zidane, I can see him becoming a Brad Pitt. ;D
 
+ Nooj (FFX-2). One day, Nooj should be a special case study for students looking to become artists and character designers. Take note, kids, this is absolutely not how you design a good-looking character. Not only does he clearly NOT look 21 as stated in Final Fantasy X-2's game manual, but he is one of the ultimate fashion disasters in all of Spira, from his oddly-placed belts to his ridiculous and improbable hair. I would not look at Nooj and think I am at the foot of one of Spira's finest emerging political leaders of the day.

+ Seymour (FFX). Well, those of Guado blood are naturally ugly, with their sinister faces, hair, ghastly claws and resembling reanimated corpses. Seymour manages to look even uglier than they do despite being a half-Guado. His choice of clothes is a horror to behold. He doesn't close his robes, leaving his (surprisingly well-built) midriff for the world to see. If someone asked me to take the adjective "ridiculous" and imagine it as a concrete noun, it would be Seymour's hair. If I were playing through FFX now for the first time, I would not be able to take him seriously at all.

+ Vayne Solidor (FFXII). Blimey! Laguna from FFVIII has let himself go! You can just about see the waterfalls of grease going down his hair if you squint hard enough. He sort of reminds me of Severus Snape, only with a voice that isn't quite as awesome as the Potions master. Not content with looking like Final Fantasy's answer to a dictator Snape, Vayne infuses Nethicite into himself for his second form, delighting us further with a makeover. You have not properly stared at ugly in the face until you reach the end of FFXII.

+ Steiner (FFIX). Aww, but we love Steiner for not exactly looking like the most handsome prince in the kingdom, right? Yes, he does have the face of a "smacked arse" as mentioned before. He was probably also sneaking into the palace kitchens far too often.

+ Queen Brahne (FFIX). Being a villain, she has to be ugly. But for some reason, the designers decided that she needs to be blue with at least ten chins showing whenever she opens her mouth. I almost thought it was just a monster posing as the queen as part of a later plot twist, and the designers were not being subtle about it all, but nope. She looks like a monstrous mutant smurf.

+ Paine (FFX-2). It's her style that doesn't click with me. And for some reason, her eyes are red. See, Noctis? Paine's been doing it before you have.

+ (Kid) Noctis (FFXV). Okay, he looks considerably better now than he did in the earlier Versus days, but he still looks like a scruffy Naruto's Sasuke. Kid Noctis from the E3 trailer however? I've seen people have that devilish awkward kid grin as their message board avatars and I can't fathom why they would want that under their usernames.

+ Freya (FFIX). She's...an anthropomorphic bipedal rodent. I hate rodents.

+ Vaan (FFXII). He has the face of someone who has just had a disastrous trip to the plastic surgeon. It also looks like a sad and dejected face. Combine that with his hilarious drawn-on abs and you lament the fact that this guy seems to be the officially-designated main character of the game, and not the more probable Ashe or Basch.

+ Cinna (FFIX). What. The. Hell. Is. That.

+ Ultimecia (FFVIII). Well, of course. She's a villain who doesn't look like she can efficiently clear doorways with those deer antlers.

+ Brother (FFX & X-2). I don't even know how to describe him. He looks like he could be part of a mob on the streets now chanting racist slogans. He looks like he's at the drums of one of the worst heavy metal bands that you've ever seen perform gigs at your university student union. Yet at the same time his head makes him look like a woman who has been busy aggressively shaving. Brother is just a horrific escaped lab experiment. It's probably Shinra's.

+ Caius Ballad (FFXIII-2). Unfortunately, it's his design that does nothing at all to complement his otherwise very serviceable erm, face.

+ Zell (FFVIII). Awful tribal tattoos(?) on his face. Check. Jedward hair. Check. Has the face of an obnoxious idiot. Check.

+ Cid Kramer (FFVIII). Up until Cid Raines, our Cids haven't exactly been known for being intentionally designed to be handsome. I list Cid Kramer here out of the others I could have put down, because it's his official render artwork that is the most memorable. Robin Williams has really let himself go for the Headmaster Cid role!

+ NORG (FFVIII). What is he? Is that a giant chin looking like a massive, hanging ball bag, or is that just the biggest ever recorded cancer tumour?

The guys look like girls, and the girls are all either so old it's amazing they don't crumble to dust from the lightest touch, or drowning so deeply in jailbait/moe that it's amazing that just looking at them doesn't have an entire squad of police officers breaking down your door ready to slap you in cuffs for having illegal images on your computer screen. Square Enix just don't know what people look like. Even by JRPG standards, FF's characters are eye-breakingly bad.

...asides Caius Ballad. There is always one exception to the rule, and he is it. Liam O'Brien's voice with Vayne Solidor's HD-rendered face with everything else spliced from Kain? He can "cross swords" with me anytime.

Oh, and let's not forget Balthier, either. They don't call him the Leading Man for nothing...

I second that ^ not everyone likes muscles and butch men. I prefer scrawny, young looking guys, and the FF men fit that criteria fairly well :D

Is Adel really a woman? O.O
I've always thought he/she was a man. He is too masculine to be a woman O:
If she is really a woman, she is...BLEAH.

However, I've never thought a FF character to be an ugly person. I don't know why, maybe because they don't exist, but I'm not sure.
 
I feel like on this list, there are characters that were made to be ugly.

For an example Queen Brahne was made to be a fat-ass, butt-ugly queen.

Then you have the odd races like the Quan, who were made to be... Odd looking to put it nicely.

Then you have those that were made to be different, like the Guado, and the Ronso, and the other races in the Final Fantasy worlds.

So which ones are ugly? I can't say for those races... but for which ones I think were made to be... "attractive" there are only two that I can think of that really deserve this...

Edea and Cloud of Darkness (in Dissiddia), These two let us admit it, were made to show off as much, breast and turn on the perverted gamer guys (and probably the girls that swing that way) as they could... and it just looks bad. Terrible... eww... my advice to Square (and a lot more companies in general...), sometimes a girl doesn't have to show off her skin and can still look attractive!

I thought that Balthier was ugly personality wise. Balthier is extremely over confident, cocky and narcissistic and had a Robin Thicke " I'm so great, I'm so cool, love me ladies and everybody" attitude. I don't understand the love towards him to be frank ( so going to get killed for saying this- remember how I was RIP please bury me with my fav anime soundtrack ) :sadpanda:

And yeah I like the girly men style. I can't stand the macho/ Infamous bald man type man style of male character that American/ Western companies love. There is nothing wrong with a man looking girly or feminine, so gotta disagree again.

I think that General Leo was meant to be ugly too looking at his designs and main character avatar and he sort of hints to Terra that he know what it's like to not feel loved in return so I think that he was hinting out that he was always getting rejected by women when it came to love. Though he's so handsome and kind inside and had a pure heart, so I don't think that he should count as a ugly Final Fantasy character at all since his heart and kindness was so damn pure. Leo breaks the rule or I'm just biased because I think that he's a sweetie I don't know :cali:
