Final Fantasy VII Remake

Honestly? I'd much rather see a remake of VI. FFVII has gotten enough spinoffs and movies and all the other crap in the FFVII compilation. Give other games a chance already. Besides, don't mess with a good thing...right? I honestly think that nothing will live up to everyone's memory of the game. A remake will end up not being good enough and then everyone will complain about it......so just leave it alone.
 
Well .. I would agree that a remake might screw up the game.. But atleast just put the game in hd graphics. Im sure it will make the new generation try the game and the old generation will love it. It would be a huge sale by SE but they arent doing it right now because it would take too much time.

This I will say also it sounds perfect in my ears.
Dont change story, just change the graphics of the characters and in battles, everything else is good as it is :)
 
I tend to agree with the people saying that they should concentrate on the newer games. I would like a remake of lots of the older games (all of them before VIII) but I would rather they make more games that I love, rather than remake an older game I love. It's like choosing between having two great games or having one great game twice.

I bet Square would Sell with a ff7 remake more Copies than all the other Games.
For example me, i would pay 200 € for it and buy extra a PS 3
 
Guy's there wont be a remake it seems, I've read some news about it couple weeks back and the head honcho's at Square Enix said it would be way to complicated to do the graphics engine and take ages to remake but they might think of it in the future I'm not sure but for now I'm sure there sticking to the new FF games. Wish there's hope for it in the future.
 
I'm going to side with those who want a remaster as opposed to a remake. The game was and still is great the way it is. But seeing how every other FF game is getting a remaster, I think this game deserves one. A remake would take too much time especially since SE needs to finish FF13 verses and fix FF14. But if they do remake the game, I would still play it. I just think SE should keep their priorities.
 
if they dont announce any other projects, then yes. But if theres been long waited projects such as versus no. But what are the chances of that? and who would even suggest that? i say yes to ff7 remake (in general (if you know what that means)). I'd like a remake period.
 
I say Definitly, Yes, also add new things, make it longer, and please dont have Aeris die or at least the option to return her to life.

Also allow Quadra Magic-W Summon-Knights of the Round to work hehehe

Add Sapphire Weapon as a boss and Omega

Sephiroth be a playable character and turn good lol I think hes better as a hero anyway.

And allow you to change the character's names like in the PS version (I'm sure it will though but anywho)

As said time and time before, FFVII is not being remade for the PS3. This has been offiacialy stated by Square-Enix themselfs. Its also been stated by one of the main developer guys (dont know his name) that there is no plans to do a remake of FFVII untill technological diffrences prevent new consoles to play Playstation discs, and seeing as the PS3 can then don't think it'll be a while, however this is not a solid idea and could very well change but it is how it stands at the moment.

IMO a remake would be good, but it will ruin the game for alot of its original fans (ie the ones playing it since its release, far before all this compilation bollocks). There really is no need for a remake but I'd buy it and play it none the less.

Thank you. As much as I would love to see that game in PS3 graphics, it'll never happen, if anything just more spinoffs. And even if they did, they might as well make 4-9 with PS3 graphics too.
 
I would prefer it to remain a classic without enhancements but.. I don't mind too much. But if they do add anything in.. I hope they at least mention people from Crisis Core.
 
I'd rather not have a remake of this title. It's legendary in its own right now (even if it's not my favorite), so it just needs to stay that way.

If SE does decide to remake it, though, then I just want some better visuals, as what everyone else probably expects.

It will stay legendary even if it does get a remake. For the sake of consistency i would like a remake to compliment the sequels and prequels.
 
I'm on the fence a bit... I'd definitely like to see FFVII remade with better, more up-to-date graphics (I think it deserves at least that much), but I wouldn't want too much of the story compromised in the process. It'd be alright to change the script up a bit to incorporate more recent info related to the FFVII sub-series - maybe some Crisis Core stuff, maybe some more info on the Turks, and some other plot points that were left unexplained in the original game.
 
To bad after the released of final fantasy 7 on PS3 we don't heard a lot good news about Enix. They saying that they will be releasing ff7 remake when ff13 beat the record sales of final fantasy 7. And they do release an new ff7 on PC. Asian Handicap Betting

When was this said? I remember them saying that until they had surpassed FFVII they would't do a remake, but it wasn't specific to FFXIII it was the franchise in general.

I don't quite understand what Maestro is saying either, they did mention they would only remake only when they have surpassed it. But we have to take the economy and people in general. FFVII in todays world would have sold a lot more and would have earned a lot more due to inflation etc. And I also agree with you that they said an FF in general had to surpass and not specifically FFXIII otherwise they would keep making them to try and beat it haha.
 
I will never understand these people who argue that 'FFVII deserves a remake.' They're as bad as Hollywood remaking any classic movie they can get their soulless, moneygrubbing hands on. IMO, remakes should be reserved for movies or games that never lived up to their original potential. Not for success stories such as FFVII. Gawd... People complain that SE lack any sort of invention these days whilst at the same time calling for them to remake a 15 year-old game.

The FFVII Remake machine seems to have taken on a life of its own. I don't think people even remember why they want one anymore. It's just expected of SE now. So naturally, SE have jumped on this and continue to string the fans along with glimmers of false hope, even though they are in absolutely no position to remake the game and they know it. It just pays to keep its name in the limelight.

FFVII is a game that has stood the test of time considering its obvious drawbacks. It's still being released and played to this day and fans are still discovering new trivia about it. So why do we want a remake again? I think people are forgetting the charm of FFVII in the first place and how much of it would be lost if SE ever did decide to remake it.

Because of crisis core, advent children and dirge of cerberus. Those with updated graphics, voice casting, and several other elements. If none of those games existed then the idea of ff7 would be consistent.

The world of ff7 has been updated and we wiuld like the original to be updated along with it.
