Final Fantasy XIII: The Butterfly Effect

Well for the hanging edge i'll be briefly joining with Elicia, then after the events of everyone getting L'Cie'd once we hit the Vile Peaks i'll be travelling with Connor and Kesha's characters till the end of the Gapra Whitewood :hmmm:

I have a question - are there any Fal'Cie in Edenhall left? I get the feeling the first thing Elicia would have done when she became Primarch would be to kill them all. Perhaps her own Fal'Cie could be in there without her knowledge, though :hmmm:

That's err...kind of a good point actually. Then again however, if all the Fal'Cie that are close to the Sanctum government are killed off, it kind of kills the point of Wisel's goal to liberate the world from the Fal'Cie. From what I gathered from FFXIII though, there are countless Fal'Cie even in the heart of Eden, so there's a large chance that she can't have killed them all. Either that or Elicia could just be staying friendly with some of the Sanctum Fal'Cie while discreetly killing their brethren one by one. I don't know, that's all I can possibly think of.

But for Wisel's agenda to make sense now, there still has to be some Fal'Cie at the heart of Eden for her to assume that it is in fact the Fal'Cie still pulling the strings in everything including the Purge. Maybe Elicia can take them on later, i.e. keep them as allies close to her then stab them in the back later? :hmmm:

Well, not neccessarily...there are at least two (and probably more in NPCs) Fal'Cie still out there with an active influence. There could be others, formerly from Eden, hiding amongst government officials, as well...or staying in contact with them, anyway. I don't think Elicia would tolerate any Fal'Cie, regardless of their potential usefulness to her. She has a "kill on sight" policy of sorts. xD

Well, people don't normally go into the heart of Eden, do they? It's doubtful anyone would notice if they were dead. Actually, for her to come into power as the Primarch at all, they'd have to be out of the way...if not dead, then in hiding and out of the political picture. They'd definetely oppose her taking the position.

This was something I hadn't thought about until a moment ago...I'm not quite sure how to handle it.

It would be safe to assume, since the Fal'Cie cover everything from food, water, electricity etc. So unless Edenhall is now out of power and literally rotting away, there's still Fal'Cie left :wacky:

Yeah, so unless we twist some lore or something, it would be rather conspicuous if Cocoon suddenly dies from lack of air, sunlight, water, power etc. However, not all Fal'Cie have crucial sustaining roles (like Phoenix) and I suppose Wisel is only interested in subduing (and probably not even kill) certain Fal'Cie she believes still play important roles in the government. I mean, it wouldn't be practical to kill off all Fal'Cie and render Cocoon uninhabitable would it? All I can think of now is that Elicia manages to kill off Fal'Cie after Fal'Cie yet find a way to keep their functions continuing even with them dead. :hmmm:

I could make my Fal'cie the one that powers Edden. Not necessarily Cocoon as a whole, but Eden, meaning that after my Fal'cie's death, which Martel and I have planned, Eden could... collapse? For lack of a better term.

Deer Mud, is it okay for me to be L'Cie'd by the Fal'Cie that Elicia just killed? :hmmm:

Me and Martel had a few ideas going for if I can do that :monster:

That could come as a revelation to Elicia near the end, actually...she could just kill the Fal'Cie and leave them hooked up to the systems, believing that they'd just feed off them indefinetely.

Also, unless you want perhaps the most ridiculous battle ever (like, even more ridiculous than Kratos killing Atlas in God of War III) I'd suggest we assume Titan is either already dead or inexistant. I think Elicia's reaction to Titan would be something like "Oh, fuck. Maybe I'll leave that one until last."

That's fine Damon. I think we covered some of the finer details in the SB anyway. XD

Ridiculous battles are fun. :lew: It could be a frantic rush to escape from Eden when it starts to shut down, and then the final conflict happens.

Excellent, I'll give David his l'Cie powers in my next post, then the Fal'Cie can snuff it~

I suppose I could always have her stab it's eyes out with Peackeeper, then blast it down with Ultima...we can...leave that idea open. Fal'Cie killing rapier or not, it's still...GoW-level madness :lew:

Just one note in that regard, after everyone went L'Cie they ended up unconcious and ended up falling on Lake Bresha, considering i'll be on solid ground after meeting this Fal'Cie, what should moi do in that regard? :hmmm: just fall and wait for everyone to follow suit? :wacky:

I was actually thinking about that, and maybe we could capitalise on the bad start Hale (my character) and David had. Perhaps with Hale injuring David in some way that makes him fall into Lake Bresha? Just a theory, but feel free to use it. It could highlight Hale's apathy and amorality as well as move David forward.

I hope again everything is ok with the template Nikki.

Name: Lieutenant Colonel Servius (Fal’Cie name: Servantias)

Age: 38

Gender: Male

Race: Fal’Cie

Appearance

Guise (Human Shell):

Servius stands unnaturally tall at over 7’’, slightly thin but also has some muscle accompanying his build, most notably around his upper body and forearms. His skin while dark, is more of a light tan then anything else. Dark purple eyes accompany the rather plain features of Servius’ face, while his twilight golden hair seems to shine as it drapes over his shoulders ever so slightly. A strange, almost radiating mixture of both dark and light colours cover Servius’ entire body, in a display of somewhat ordinary clothes.

A pair of black boots, steel toed, are present just underneath the overlapping leggings of his dark blue pants. While wearing a light black trench coat, Servius seems to choose only to have a few of the buttons closed, most notably, those that run over his chest. With those buttons closed, only the pure white collar of his shirt beneath the surface can be seen, while from just his waist, the un-tucked view of the same long shirt is noticeable. The only other notable items that Servius wears, are that of a single leather glove which he wears on his right hand, while a rusty looking chain hangs from around his neck, holding but a simple looking crystal in its centre.

True Form (Fal’Cie):

Servius’ true form as a Fal’Cie, can be considered quite monstrous. Towering like a colossal giant, Servius appears wrapped in chain links, curling around his arms and chest as if trying to hold back his true power and strength. With his arms partially chained, Servius is only able to reach targets that are within a very small short range. Even with this weakness, Servius’ arms show their length, as they rest at the very base of the massive Fal’Cie while still retaining some small movement. The once small crystal that he wears while in his Guise, grows to giant proportions, forming as part of his body itself. Radiating with an almost uncontrollable energy, the crystal seems directly linked with the chains themselves, allowing powerful surges of electricity to run over his body effectively burning anything unfortunate enough to be connected.

When emerging in this form, Servius’ body connects immediately to the environment, joining himself by ways of his lower body and massive steel pillars which protrude from his back and sides. Running over the mixture of black, white and gold steel that is his skin, outlines of a total of thirteen figures can be seen adjourning his body. All various sizes and looks, the thirteen figures blend in perfectly with Servius’ body, detailed to the point that they seem almost alive.

From the crown of his head, black coiled cables run down in place of his hair, wiggling and swaying as they act as a part of his body. Able to extend, the cables themselves are a form of appendages for Servius, allowing him even greater reach in this form in place of his chain covered arms. If removed of chains, Servius arms themselves are able to reach much greater distances then even his cables, while also bringing the form of his burning electrical charge to his very grasp.

While his gaze is that of an ordinary statuesque face, a large metal like choker runs around his neck, lined with tiny human sized metal faces, all living with lidless eyes watching all directions. Though only able to partially open their mouths, a banshee like scream emits from them, their only choice of sound able to alert Servius to danger. The screams seem able to disorientate enemies around Servius, while any unlucky enough to be close to the faces themselves, can suffer life damaging effects.

Personality:

Servius may be quite a mysterious being, but his actions and mannerisms suggest a much more, direct and simple attitude to what he does, and what his personality truly is. Not truly favoring one attitude to another, Servius seems to be a mixture in what he shows on the outside, though the reasons for which he does are quite straight forward.

Understanding, and intrigue, have caused others to see him as a sort of being who looks down on others, and has no regards to them except for his own enjoyment. Servius is a being who will take his time, someone who will wait and see if an event will occur, in which he may then decide to help push along into a desired path. Servius is quite neutral in all things, though there are times when even he has lost himself to his own pleasures, and has somewhat, enjoyed and reveled, in others misfortune.

Quite calculating and cold, Servantias has absolutely no problem using others, so long as they provide some sort of entertainment for the Fal’Cie. In his Guise of Servius however, Servantias takes on the persona of a man who enjoys battle to the full. When fighting he seems to lose himself in the moment, though the man still never loses his conniving side, able to turn enemies on one another in the midst of battle.

Weapons:

Garandou: Also known as The Void, Servius’ weapon gains its name from the pitch black metal its made of. Combining the design of both a claymore and nodachi, the weapon appears extremely long, to the size that an ordinary person would need to use both hands in order to hold it, let alone wield the immense weapon. While it appears quite a simple weapon, Garandou is fashioned with rather ancient markings, spiralling around the handle itself in gold lettering, before ending as it reaches the blade. From its guard, a long curve stretches from one side of the sword, reaching back down towards the end of the handle, forming a full guard over the wielders hands. The strange alloy the sword is made from, seems to increase its density to the point that the weapon becomes nearly impossibly to hold, except by Servius himself.

Primary Role: Sentinel

Secondary Roles: Synergist, Ravager

Eidolon: Knights of the Round

Elemental Strengths: Though not favouring many elements, Servius seems to use various levels of lightning to very devastating effects. While he may use other elements, none are as powerful as when he begins to use that particular type and its spells.

History:

Fal’Cie History

A cocoon Fal’Cie, Servantias was given the task of commanding all military and security throughout cocoon. Monitoring any and all communications between armies, Servantias maintains connections with direct contact to the Sanctum itself. During the War of Transgression, Servantias commanded, on behalf of the Sanctum, the forces which were able to push back those from Pulse.

While it only gave orders from commands from the other Fal’Cie, Servantias left the surviving forces to effectively kill one another after abandoning them once the war was over. Since then, the Fal’Cie continued to monitor and maintain all forms of electrical communication throughout Cocoon, with reports saying the mighty Fal’Cie is located and sealed deep within Eden Hall itself. However access is prohibited from entering its chamber.

As Lieutenant Colonel, Servius was made director of PSICOM’s most Elite divisions, gaining the authority of commanding forces during L’cie incidents and any Purge shipments. Rising to such a rank while remaining an unknown, it wasn’t unusually for people to join PSICOM and not know their history. Nothing else is known of Servius, except basic information that is on record, just like every other member of PSICOM.

Eidolon

Name: Knights of the Round

Gender(s): Male

Summoning Animation: Upon clutching the handle of his weapon, Servius proceeds to embed the blade partially into the ground, while the crystal that hangs around his neck begins to illuminate a bright orange glow. Spreading out from where he stands, a black portal begins to grow larger, though Servius never sinks from it. From below its surface once outstretched, twelve figures begin to rise, their backs facing away from Servius as they all stand looking towards him like lifeless statues. Wielding a variety of weapons, from longswords to hammers, even staffs and lances, each one of the twelve armour covered knights raise their particular weapons into the air, crossing their points with one another as the thirteenth figure appears behind Servius. Wielding a colossal sword, the King like figure raises his giant sword into the air before the other figures immediately turn to face any who would target Servius or their King.

Appearance: http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ldry2fdQm51qel7l6.jpg

http://images.wikia.com/finalfantasy...ut_-_KOTR_.jpg

Personality: Acting as one complete being, each of the first twelve knights do as commanded from Servius, as the King itself is the true leader of the Eidolon. Both regal in how he presents himself and thinks, the King is very pompous, looking down at anyone weaker then him, which to him and his knights is nearly everyone. Without hesitation, he would gladly crush anything unfortunate enough to be in his way, if it isn’t for Servius’ will keeping him in check.

Weakness: Though the knights have numbers on their side, their weakness lies in that it is very rarely in which they are able to attack. As only commands can be given and not separate tasks, certain knights will not act, while others will. In these incidents, any knight who isn’t needed immediately takes on a statue like appearance. Becoming impenetrable obstacles during their time, though completely lifeless and useless for anything else.

Attacks including magic:

Attack!: Springing to action, five of the thirteen knights act, while the others remain stationary around Servius. Those that attack, wield a lance, mace, hammer, battle axe, and finally a splendid sword which seems to gleam with sparkles of light. Once in movement, the five knights will begin attacking Servius’ opponents with crushing attacks and deadly sword strikes. Able to partially defend, the knights main goal with this command is to keep the enemies attention on them, and to wipe them out while attacking without end.

Defend!: Just like the previous command, four of the thirteen knights come to life, taking up positions around Servius himself as they raise their weapons in a powerful defensive stance. Wielding a long sword, followed by another , a trident, and a naginata, each of the knights form a barrier around Servius while taking their guard around it, able to defend and direct attacks on themselves. With this command, the knights only form of attacking is in that of strong counters after first being attacked, mirroring Servius’ stance as a Sentinel.

Cast!: Upon activating this command, those of the three magic users of the Knights come to life and take stance around Servius in the form of a triangle. Using their powers, the knight wielding the rod attacks with devastating levels of magic similar to fire, as the wielder of the wand uses powerful explosions of ice. Finally, using that of the almighty staff, the final magic user unleashes the crushing force of comets and meteors on enemies, only when his brethren deem it necessary.

(Note on Cast!: Working together, the three mages can use some pieces of magic other then their specific elements. In some cases, they can cast spells such as curaga, haste, and even buff and de-buffing spells. However, all three mages must act as one, meaning they are not able to use any offensive magic while casting.)

Charge!: Knights of the Round most powerful attack. With this, the first twelve knights come to life before attacking the enemies at once. Once attacking, a knight returns to its initial statue like position, unable to move or act until each other knight makes its move first. Once all twelve have attacked, the King finally moves, swinging his legendary sword which normally split’s the ground the enemies are on at the time, unleashing an explosion in the process.

(Note on Charge!: While he doesn’t officially make a move until Charge!, the King will partially attack and defend on its own if an enemy gets close to him and Servius. Any other instance however means the King remains in his initial position behind Servius.)

Gestalt Mode and attacks during Gestalt Mode.

Gestalt Mode - Pendragon

Summon Animation: Leaping into the air all at once, each one of the knights suddenly begins to break down, their armor falling apart into heaps on the ground around Servius, as their weapons either collapse to the ground or pierce into it if possible. Around the form of the Kings sword, the fallen pieces quickly begin to connect with one another, slowly piecing more and more together swallowing the sword up in their metal. Eventually, two massive red eyes form as the metal pieces take the shape of a large dragon, its wings a combination of the same metal and material used for the knights capes. Leaping on top of its back Servius finds himself surrounded with all the weapons the knights wielded, missing of course that of the Kings sword, which remains inside the dragon. Landing on the ground with a crash, the knight dragon releases a colossal roar which shakes the ground around it.

Appearance: http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs5/i/200...akhenliche.jpg

Made and covered in the armor of the thirteen knights, Pendragon's back is littered with the fallen weapons of the first twelve, while the thirteenth sword of the King rests in the core of the beast.

Weakness and Strength: Unlike the sheer numbers of the Knights before Gestalt mode, Pendragon is the only being along with Servius to fight. In regards to this, Pendragon is quite slow to act against fast targets, but makes it up with its sheer strength and durability. Its strength lies in waiting out attacks thrown at it, before unleashing its own devastating retaliation.

Attacks - Servius

Viridian Sword: Upon clutching the sword used by the twelfth knight, a dark blue glow covers the remaining weapons, minus those used by the mages. Acting as a will for Servius, the weapons promptly rise from the skin of the dragon, their movements as if guided by some apparition, as they attack anything to which Sevius aims the sword.

Smite of the Heavens: Similar to Viridian Sword, Servius remove the staff used by the final mage knight, causing both the rod and wand to rise and float around him covered in a dark blue aura. With this, Servius unleashes rapid blasts of powerful fire and ice magic everywhere, before rising into the air with Pendragon. Raising the staff higher above him, the combined force of the other magical weapons causes a barrage of Comets to rain down randomly.

Attacks - Pendragon

Burning of Camelot: Opening its massive maw, Pendragon releases its power of hellfire onto the enemy. This attack has two versions, with one acting as a quick shot causing Pendragon to release the fire in a single ball of flames. Though it is quickly formed and fired, its quite easy to predict and dodge, though the ball immediately spreads out over a large radius upon contact. The second version however, allows Pendragon to build up the flames first, before unleashing it as a single constant stream of flames over the area. Though it takes time to build up, the attack is quite deadly once unleashed, as it spreads almost instantly across the ground.

Wards of the Ancients: Immediately covering Pendragon, strange symbols and markings begin to glow profusely over its body, its colour changing from that of red, to blue, and finally gold. With each change, Pendragon gains the following effect.

Red: In combination with its hellfire, Pendragon’s body glows a superheated red, its body rising in temperature causing it to scorch the ground as it walks. As it opens its mouth, streams of fire begin to pour out immediately, while keeping its mouth closed allows it to automatically start charging, allowing the dragon to unleash it in a straight and powerful beam.

Blue: Taking to the air, Pendragon’s body takes on a pale blue colour before beating its massive wings causing powerful gusts of icy winds to strike the area. As its body grows more cold, ice crystals begin to form over its wings, allowing it to launch them as projectiles.

Gold: Wards of the Ancients final colour is the most devastating of the wards. Covering itself in brightly gold symbols, Pendragon stays mostly in the air, gliding around as electricity crackles over the underside of its body. Building up a charge from inside, Pendragon is able to release the pent up energy in the form of a wild eruption of thunderbolts from its mouth, striking the ground randomly.

(Note on Wards: With each ward there comes a unique weakness.

Red - With its body heated, Pendragon is unable to take flight with this ward, meaning its only manner of movement is by walking. A second weakness is Pendragon must unleash its constantly built up fire, in order to not overheat. If not done, the dragon will fly into a rage and most probably tire itself out as it cools down.

Blue - Able to take flight with this ward, Pendragon loses its ability to open its mouth, leaving its only form of attack, that of the icicles it can launch, and also its freezing body. Another weakness with this form is that if Pendragon does not launch its icicles from its wings, eventually the ice grows too much, forcing the dragon to land onto the ground until it loses its weight.

Gold - Unlike the previous two wards, Pendragon’s only weakness lies in its use of only one attack and having to build it up until release.)

Finishing Attack

Ultimate End: Beating its massive wings, Pendragon soars high into the air, away from its enemies as it begins to charge a massive blast of hellfire. As it does this, Servius kneels against Pendragons back, his hands placed firmly against its skin as the twelve weapons around him begin to glow a bright blue. Suddenly erupting from the dragon’s body, ghostly forms of the twelve knights appear, wielding their weapon for dashing down towards the enemies. Landing first, the three mages raise their weapons causing a large barrier to form around the enemies, locking them inside and preventing them from getting out of range of the attack. Second, the remaining nine knights quickly attack the enemies at once, using their weapons to stab, slash, and crush everything within the barrier. As Pendradon gets to the point of if forming its giant ball of hellfire, a faint glow appears from the chest of the dragon. The Kings legendary sword erupts and speeds down towards the barrier just as Pendragon unleashes its attack behind it. As the sword nearly reaches the barrier, the final form of the King appears, increasing the force behind his weapon upon striking the barrier. As it shatters, the King unleashes a powerful explosion just as Pendragons attack collides, igniting the blast itself in a massive eruption of power and fire.

Perhaps he sees David's brand and tries to kill him because he's a L'Cie now? And the disorientation of the change makes me too weak to stop you? :wacky:

That could come as a revelation to Elicia near the end, actually...she could just kill the Fal'Cie and leave them hooked up to the systems, believing that they'd just feed off them indefinitely.

Also, unless you want perhaps the most ridiculous battle ever (like, even more ridiculous than Kratos killing Atlas in God of War III) I'd suggest we assume Titan is either already dead or nonexistent. I think Elicia's reaction to Titan would be something like "Oh, fuck. Maybe I'll leave that one until last."

But that's supposed to be Rasche's focus...to kill that particular Fal Cie which would destroy the habitat of Pulse...Is she gonna help him or what? :hmmm: So far I haven't really decided whether I want Rasche to be good or evil. Either way he has sort of a neutral personality in the way I'd RP him...Since his Fal Cie is clearly evil it seems he has no choice but to do certain things. As for story I have his all planned out and it includes going to Pulse and what not to complete his focus. I don't know who he'd travel with though.

Clearly I've missed a fair bit by not frequenting the SB.

Erm, I'm chasing after Damon's character at the minute, unsure as to what exactly he is doing, is it ok for me to get L'cie'd as/when he does simply for lack of a better idea?

I really need to post before you guys leave me behind :lew:

Again, I'm open to anyone wanting to interact with my character. I don't mind adjusting it to match what's already going on with others. I admit I didn't have any plot ideas aside from my character's development :hmmm:

I'm extremely confused as to what is going on in the RP right now. Are people already L'cie? Have they already met the Fal'cie in the Vestige? Is the "Purge" already over, in a sense?

I'm reading, and have no idea what to do. :sad3: I was going to start on Heart's Purge train and head towards the Vestige, but if by Page 3 everything is already done there's really no point in that.

I'm trying to figure out a point to start at, but...I really don't know. I didn't expect there to be 3 pages already. 8(
