Final Fantasy XIII: The Butterfly Effect

Omg I'm starting not to like this so much. XD There's like 20 teenagers in this RP. Can we get some adults please? :hmmm:

No worries, Josh. I know for a fact that there'll be a few more adults in this RP. I'll be making one of them shortly after the RP goes up.

Name; Sakiko
Age; 17
Gender: Female
Race: Human-to be L’cie in later progression of rp.

Appearance: With a lovely body, and even lovelier features, Sakiko is quite the lady to look at all day and every day. She stands no taller than five’ five, and weighs no more than one hundred twenty-five pounds. Her stunning looks are complemented well with the accompany of her thin build, and even more impressive curves. For one to look at her(preferably a guy), they would just stand in awe. She has a fair white complexion to go along with this.

Her hair comes down to her shoulders with a lovely shade of blonde, and her eyes come with a awe-inspiring shade of light blue. Up in her blonde hair a light red ribbon sets, with it tied up in a single bow. On her neck is a necklace with leather string, and a wooden cross pendant. Lastly, a stylish white dress that comes to a stop at mid-thigh. She wears white walking shoes, but also are great for long distance adventures.

Personality: Quite the energetic, and perky girl she is. Sakiko is always in a cheerful mood, and even when the situation is in worst-case scenario, she always remains optimistic no matter what. Even when confronted by an enemy or potential dangerous threat, she always has a cheerful attitude, but this also prooves to be the worst thing for Sakiko’s enemies. This is because of her happy nature, Sakiko always has a bit too much fun, and ends up in killing an enemy, or just wasting time. But either way, she is any enemy’s worst nightmare.

If you get the Idea that she Is just a happy cheerful person, but doesn’t have no feelings towards friends, then your greatly mistaken. In actuality, Sakiko cares more about her friends than she does about her own life, and this is probably why she has such a kind and cheery nature.

Weapons:

1.) A customized Ninjato with a five-foot long chain, and short dagger that is embedded at the end of the chain.

Description:

Ninjato: Coming one inch over three feet, this Ninjato has a white hilt with a golden diamond pattern that runs in organized fashion around it. Your typical square hand-guard is placed, and the regular Ninjato blade with a diagonaled tip. What makes this customized is the markings on the lower part of the blade, to which is ancient writing of the words “calm”, and “peace”. The bottom of the hilt is completely removed as it holds the chain there, and when the chain is completely secured, the dagger appears as a detachable weapon(like a second weapon of sorts). Underneath the hand guard is a small, but pressable button that opens up the small patch, and the chain w/ dagger is released.

Chain: A regular steel chain in substance, but with a faint aura always surrounded It, this is exactly what makes the chain an original.

Dagger; Aside from the dagger being attached to the chain, it has no outstanding features, to put it in a matter of words. It only comes to a total of twelve inches. The hilt of this dagger is rather short, with it only being four inches, and the blade itself being eight inches, but even so, that’s not worth mentioning. When chain is sealed within the hilt of the Ninjato, the blade of dagger sticks out of the hilt of the Ninjato, in which case, it can be used a double-sided weapon. The blade itself is made of carbon steel, and cuts up stuff as if it were butter.

Fighting Style;

Utilizing both strength, speed, and cat-like reflexes, Sakiko’s way of fighting can be totally random. The force behind her blows are randomly versed in both the magic and physical categories. Along with that, she performs acrobatic movements when fighting, giving her attacks variation, and style. This way of fighting also varies on whether or not the chain of her Ninjato is unsealed or not. If unsealed, then her fighting style becomes - more or less - ranged. By distancing a good three or four feet away from her enemies, Sakiko uses her chain and dagger to her advantage by swinging the chain around, also while keeping up her acrobatic movements to prevent from any early-on predictions that might or night not arrive.

Primary Role: Commando
Secondary Roles: Ravager; Synergist
Eidolon: Zeromus
Elemental Strengths. No particular strength, but also no apparent weakness either. Sakiko has been seen to be able to use very few spell of the “-Ga” level, but that is only on special occasions. Her main usage of spells falls under the “-Ra” levels. Non-elemental magic can only go so far with her because Sakiko hasn’t practiced as much, but it has been rumored that she could use Flare and Ultima - though that still varies.

Brief History: Growing up on Cocoon was always hard for Sakiko. With all of the bickering of the L’Cie, and the Sanctum, there was never a moment of rest for Sakiko. Her father, being a runaway L’cie, and her mother being a general in the Sanctum forces, Sakiko was always put in the middle of things. It was like this since she was five years old; never of a moments rest, and never a chance for her to speak up. Yeah, she was only a child at the time, but even a child deserves to be heard. This lifestyle continued for several years, right up until her twelfth birthday, that was the day everything changed for young Sakiko

A lunar night, dark sky, and stars filling the dark-blue abyss of the night, Sakiko was going to visit her mother in Eden - the heart of the Sanctum. She was excited for this day for more than obvious reasons, but her most important reason was because she had heard that her father had been found, and whether or not it was on good terms, Sakiko would be able to see her father nonetheless.

Sakiko was inside the tallest building in Eden, and her face was gleaming so much that literally her smile sparkled of joy and happiness. She was skipping, and humming her favorite song. It was mere moments until that joy would turn into complete sadness and other emotion as such like that. She heard three shots, then screams, and then dead silence. Sakiko at just twelve years old had a bad feeling about those sounds, especially if they were in that exact order. Running as fast as she could, Sakiko saw what no young girl should have to see in any day of her life - her father and mother both dead. There was no one in sight - not a soul or anything. Liquid tears soon dropped down her face, and a loud scream soon came out of Sakiko‘s mouth as if there was a genocide of such.. To be honest, to Sakiko, this was just like a Genocide, but not of her physical state, but mental.

It was not long after that Sakiko had found her father’s most prized possession - a ninjato with chain and dagger - was left behind, and underneath it was a note directed to Sakiko. Interested in what it could say, Sakiko soon wiped away her tears. With what little courage she had left, Sakiko opened up the letter, with eyes glued to it, she read it.

My little flower, it pains me to tell you this under the situations, but if you are reading this, then either your mother, I, or both of us are dead. Please do not cry, I do not deserve your wondrous tears. I must confess something to you, and this is something your mother has bared in her heart for as long as she ahs been General - well, was. When you were just two years old - not even old enough to speak - your mother and I agreed that you would have a normal life if you did not know the truth, but now you must be enlightened on exactly what this “truth” is.

I am sure you know of the War of Transgression. Well there Is something else you should know about that. What the public didn’t know is that the Sanctum is afraid of the Fal’cie, and the “special” people they choose to do their “bidding”. Those people are like me, we are called L’Cie. My focus was not done, but that does not mean I cannot tell others, but that was my problem: I had no one to tell. It was my hope when I came back to Cocoon, that I could tell at least one person, and then I saw your mom. As beautiful as she was energetic - the trait you possess as well - she listened to me, and she understood.

Now in the worst-case scenario that I could be in, I was not able to tell you, so here I write this one last gathering of words to tell you that my Focus was to bring the fallout of the Sanctum. While I won’t be able to do that, you can do that for me. I know at your age, you are not ready to, nor know how to, fight. So, below is directions to my best friend’s house; he will train you, look after you, and do all he can to prepare you for the day that you finish what I could not complete.

Sakiko, my flower, I love you, and you will grow up to be just what your Mother, and I had envisioned: a hero in-the-making.

Love forever and Always, Dad

From the ending of that last letter, Sakiko couldn’t help but cry, mourn, and feel deep sorrow that not only her Father - who had been seen as evil through the eyes of Cocoon - but also her mother was dead, who was seen as a role model. She didn’t want to cry over her Parent’s deaths, but how could she not? Sakiko was only twelve years old, and now she’s suppose to go live with some stranger who she hardly knew. But what else was she to do? Her father’s last wishes was for Sakiko to not only grow as a fighter, but also as a strong, independent woman that her mother would be proud of.

Sakiko’s mind was made up. She would not hesitated any longer. A final look to her Father’s letter would reveal that the exact location of her Father’s friend was in Palupolum. Rolling up the letter, and putting it in a pocket in the red jacket she was wearing, Sakiko walked over, and took her father’s prized weapon, as this would be the only thing that she would have to remember her father by. Before leaving the area, Sakiko noticed her mother’s body about six feet away from her fathers, and she noticed that, in her mothers’ blonde hair, was her favorite red ribbon. Sakiko had to have something to remember her mother by, so Sakiko took the ribbon, and from this point on it was to her Fathers’ friend’s house.

It was since the day, for the next five years, Sakiko has spent her days learning fighting techniques, ways to utilize magic into her fighting style, and how to blend in with any and all crowds. Larry(her father’s friend) could not but be proud of her. To think that the same girl that arrived on his door step all sad and mopey, would turn to be the splitting image of her mother to a T. Sakiko even saw the resemblance. It was on her 17th birthday that Sakiko received word that there had been further clues into her parents death, and that was what brought Sakiko back into the eyes of the Sanctum, but the one big difference from last time: She would not be there to play.

In that notion, Sakiko bided he Larry a farewell, and her journey to take the Sanctum down would now begin.

Name: Zeromus
Gender: Male
Summoning Animation: A glow of indigo emits from Sakiko’s wooden pendant, and from that, a series of beams shoot from each corner, and they form a “69” sideways. After that step, the “69” formation grows larger, and soon cracks appear, and within seconds, Zeromus emerges from it. From that, Sakiko jumps on his back, walking her way up to his neck, only to jump off into a corkscrew backflip. In a final motion, Zeromus catches her on his cannon(right) arm. There Sakiko stares outward with Zeromus doing the same.

Appearance: http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080526093134/finalfantasy/images/c/cb/Zeromus.jpg

Opposite to Saikiko in every way, Zeromus is just as arrogant as he is stubborn. Not being shy of showing off, but also not shy of standing his ground. Like the astrological sign he is, Zeromus can also be shy, but not like he gets the chance to be shy. When communicating with Sakiko via telepathy, the two of them, more or less, have an understanding among each other. There are times where Zeromus argues her point of things, and vice-versa. All-in-all, with all things set aside, Zeromus can be quite the handful, but there are some who can be just as much of a handful as he is, so it’s all good.

Weakness; Due to his large mass, Zeromus can be quite slow at times, and that can be dire for some of his attacks.
Attacks including magic.

Physical Attacks:
  • Condemning strike - With brute force combined with precise accuracy, Zeromus delivers a devastating blow with his claw. It can cause brief dizziness.
  • Tail whip - with a formation of a front flip, Zeromus delivers a simple whip with his tail. With the spikes on it, there is a chance of a critical blow.
  • Three-hit Combo - Self-explanatory. A three-hit combo that begins with a horn strike that sends the opponent upwards, than Zeromus follows up with a dash upwards, holding his claw outward, driving it into the opponent’s back, and follows up with a downward chop with his other hand

Magical Attacks:

  • Magik Restriction: While summoned, Zeromus restricts the amount of magic that an opponent can use is restricted
  • Gravity: A shot of purple energy emits strait from his mouth, and when hit the specific target, it will increase the amount of weight they hold, giving them a slight tough time.
  • Hastaga - A simple spell that increases Zeromus’ speed a bit.
  • Slowaga - A spell that is similar to Hastaga, but instead this decreases the speed of his opponent for a matter of minutes(2 or three minutes).
  • Heal - A spell that can replenish both Zeromus’, and Sakiko’s health up a bit. The amount is factored out by how long Zeromus takes to cast it.

Gestalt Mode and attacks during Gestalt Mode.

Gesalt Mode - Battle Armor

Upon the command to activated Gesalt mode, Zeromus first shrinks down to a smaller size, and then each park of his body divides up into a specialized armor for Sakiko. The parts are as followed.

  • Head Armor - With transformation essential in this process, Zeromus’ head literally pops off of his body, shaping itself into a helmet of sorts with the horns facing backwards, and a slot in the back that allows Sakiko’s hair to flow nicely without interruption from tight spaces. The front of the helmet only shows Sakiko’s eyes and her nose; her mouth and chin is covered by the helmet which is shaded an indigo color with dark purple and red-orange flame markings.

  • Main Body - Following the formation of the head armor, the main part of this gesalt mode solely revolves around this part. With Zeromus’ body spilt up into said parts, it forms a body armor both front and back that practically covers Sakiko’s entire body except for her ankles, halfway up to elbow and down, and head. This main body armor is shaded indigo with the same flame tribal markings as Zeromus has in pre-gesalt mode. In the middle of the armor is a small, but noticeable, purple jewel that emits a rather distinctive purple aura around it, though it is quite faint. In general, this armor covers most of Sakiko’s body(no feet, forarms or hands, and head), and is indigo with yellow and dark purple flame tribal markings.

  • Hand gloves - Though very minor in detail, a part of Zeromus forms into matching, metal gloves for Sakiko. They are of same color of the armor, but bare no markings on it. They are just there for grip and other such things.

  • Feet Gauntlets - Like the hand gloves, these specific shoes are designed for grip and other such things. They are of the same substance that the gloves are made of, but one major difference is that they hold a compartment on it that has a very small, but sharp blade in the front, and this can be used in several different ways.

  • Wings - The core of Zeromus spits up into a slender, but still doable wings for Sakiko. By forming into a flexible shape, the indigo-colored wings attach themselves to the back of Sakiko’s armor. These wings are shaped like Eagle wings, and along the inner-layer of it, is the same dark purple, and golden-orange flame tribal markings.

  • Weapon - The tail of Zeromus is last to be shaped as it forms into a double-sided sword. Shaded light pink , and white, this weapon has a small hilt with enough room of a single-handed grip. Both sides of it have the blade shaped like a crab-claw of sorts, at least the way the blade is forged, it looks like a crab claw. A red marking down the center of the weapon is seen.

Attacks:

  • Rapid combo - Scaling to the air, Sakiko maneuvers her body to a point where a downward front kick hits her opponent dead on, and then a series of punches follow, and lastly a slash from her sword goes in horizontally.
  • Gusty Veil - By flapping her wings rapidly, darts of light gravity energy is shot through her wings, dealing minimum gravity damage.
  • Violet Blast - Holding out her hands, a blast of gravity energy is shot from each of Sakiko’s fingertips, dealing damage to multiple enemies.
  • Human Bullet - Flying upward, and coming to a stop about six to seven feet, Sakiko’s body gains a faint, purple aura around it. From that, with her left arm forward, and hand in fist formation, she gains momentum by flying downward as fast as she can, and by doing so, a huge impact is met to the opposing side of the attack.
  • Slashes of Fury - Running towards her oppnent with speed at maximum, Sakiko delivers three sets of slashes - diagonal, horizontal, and vertical - all in sets of two.

Finishing Attack:

  • Vengeance Bang-
  • As the final attack, this is the most powerful in both Sakiko’s and Zeromus’ arsenal. With power behind her, a more distinctive purple aura surrounds her, but mainly along her blade. With the steel part of her weapon having an immense smoky-like appeal, Sakiko flies up into the air, while spinning quite rapidly, and while keeping the spinning rotation, Sakiko holds out her blade, slicing the air diagonally, horizontally, and vertically. When this is done, several purple sickles of purple energy is shot all around her target, and each with gravity energy infused in it, a immediate heavy pull will be into effect upon impact. After this is done, the armor wares off and Sakiko is in her regular

We should be able to start in a few hours or so. :ryan:
Y'know, it's been a few hours since you posted this...:ohoho:

Oh, and sorry to be a nuisance, but I think this would make a better final boss theme...there is far too much nice music out there. xD

EDIT:
Would also like to reserve this theme, for a battle that will take place later on the RP...

Approved. Just remember that you'll start off with Tier 1 spells upon becoming a l'cie. Unless your character somehow acquired a manadrive, then I MIGHT be tempted to let her use magic before becoming a l'cie.

Oh Diar, just curious, while elemental magic is self explanatory for what we focus in (like me with water and ice) how will synergist/saboteur spells work? For instance in the case of my character, will I focus in defensive or offensive buffs?

I'd rather you start off with defensive buffs and offensive debuffs before moving onto the offensive buffs and defensive debuffs. I'll be instructing you guys on starting abilities when your characters become l'cie, and adding to it as they get experience. So you don't need to worry about that too much.

Ya, was just playing through FF13 again (and helping out Connor and Kesha, by extension /stream) and the thought popped into my head :wacky:

Is this going to be our discussion thread as well, or are we having a new thread for that? Just curious~

^ I imagine so. Glancing over other RP threads, it would make sense if this were the discussion thread itself.

One thing I was contemplating about is the kind of make-up-as-you-go-along approach to this story. I'm personally more of a writer who tightly plans everything before writing, so at the moment I'm a little unsure in the direction of where the whole story is going. Are we just going through the same locations as in FFXIII in chronological order? If so, then that gives me room to plan ahead. :wacky:

Fair enough~

Adding to Oliviski's questions...will the party be splitting up at all? Or do you plan to keep everyone together as much as possible?

I do know that between us, Diar and I have the villainy pretty much planned out. xD

I wouldn't be remotely against the party splitting up. 20+ people travelling together has the potential to limit character development so on the contrary, I'd encourage it.

Yeah, we're using this for discussion and yeah, we're doing the FFXIII locations, at least up to Eden anyway.

I'll be posting again in a whiiiiiile.

Aye, i'm planning to team up with Connor and Kesha's characters not long after the purge, see how stubborn military guy works with the happy go lucky guy and shy coward guy :wacky:

Interesting...maybe Elicia could gather up her own little party of Fal'Cie killers :awesome:

I need to refrain from posting for a while, that Fal'Cie is supposed to last her longer than that...although I guess I could have it turn into a human and have a duel with it. I can't help myself, though. xD

*goes to play a game to resist urge to post*

Oh whoa, there really are a lot of characters in this RP. I don't even know who I could shove my Lani along with xD

Maybe we could do a random draw..? Unless people have already planned out stuff.

I already have a great deal planned out, although it's still sketchy in places. If people would like, I'll draw up a timeline I have of events concerning Elicia and a couple of other characters thus far, and people can chip in and add their own character development ideas. Spontaneous is good and fun, but planning helps make things seem more structured, after all~

Spontaneous is good and fun, but planning helps make things seem more structured, after all~

Pretty much this. I mean, if this RP aims to rewrite FFXIII for better, it needs a coherent, overarching kind of storyline that doesn't seem like it's been written as we go along (in my opinion). :lew:

Well, I've already drawn up some sketchy ideas for Wisel later on, especially her interactions with Martel's Elicia. It's a case of seeing whether or not it can be executed in the way I want it to now. In between I'll probably throw in plenty of flashbacks for the character so you can see how she became a L'Cie and what situation caused her to evoke the summoning of Mateus. Right now, I'm also refraining from posting until everyone else are L'Cies, so happy posting for the time being people, lest I change my mind and shoehorn something in. xD

I'm up for a random draw of who gets who, and Leanne, I'll tag along with yo char for some events if you wish
