Final Fantasy XV Delayed To November (Rumor)

@Lunafreya Nox Fleuret

What history are you two talking about? This game has not been in development for ten years. If that's what you're referring to, get it out of your head. Development started in late 2012. So there has been no development hell, and honestly little issue with development so far. It's all in everyone's heads.

I know the game hasn't been in development for 10 years but you can't deny this game had hell as an idea. That is just beating around the bush because we already know Versus as an idea was only 25% complete. The sporadic info we got every few years tells us the project was in trouble. Look at it this way: We got FOUR uncharted games since 2006, FOUR From Software games (Darksouls I, II, III, IV, Bloodborne) and now we even have a 4th mass effect game coming. Unfortunately, I can't take you seriously about "it is in everyone's head" Don't you remember when Former SE CEO said Versus will "blow our socks off" and later on SE took a hit in profits and Wada even stepped down? This project was AMBITIOUS as hell for SE. There were many problems. We still have debates and constant ones at that discussing if Nomura was fired from the project. Anyhow, that is my take on it. You have an idea for 10 years. The previous version of it was nearly unplayable and never EVER got updates monthly... but SE kept telling us "all is well" until many of us guessed Versus was dead and turned into XV based on rumours.

But that's not true, because that's based on rumors that Versus even existed as a game before 2012. It didn't. So let me rephrase what I said before. Development on Versus didn't even start until 2012. Outside of basic development qualms (that are part of making any game as ambitious as most huge triple-A games), the only 'turmoil' it went through was Nomura leaving. And next to nothing but hear-say points to him leaving the project for any negative reason. Everything else points to him simply wanting to double down on KH3 and 2.8. There are no real development troubles outside of just figuring out how to make a new leader gel with a team, and design issues every big game goes through. Both from where I'm standing seem to have gone rather well.

I'm leaning to why this was a delay as more for the PS 4.5 HD Time Frame. I smell bundle and more franchising. It's a caviat to sell more of those damn things.

In all honesty, why were there any questions about this to begin with? I have never seen SE hit a date of a platformer and when they did, it was due to legacy titles. Now a days there is a lot of consumer reports that tell a different story. I mean this game was supposed to be released when FFXIII was supposed to be released. Versus right? So another delay would be feasible again.

Let's just hope this isn't another duke nukem - A hell of a lot of hype for underwhelming game play and story line.

Well, no. Not really. It was stated when it was first announced, that it would be the final project within Fabula Nova Crystalis, and wouldn't start development until after XIII and Agito XIII were finished. That obviously got pushed back even further when XIII started making people angry, with XIII-2 and part of XIII-3's development cycles taking priority.

I personally doubt we'll be getting another delay, or a mediocre product. It might have some issues for sure. But I don't think many of them won't be things that we've already seen/played. Square has put a huge emphasis on polishing this game based on feedback from players who're used to playing extremely polished open world games. So I don't think that work will go to waste. Could be wrong of course, but I think the biggest issue will be balancing it so that it's not just a mash-fest.
