First Final Fantasy game?

The first one I played was Final Fantasy VII when I was around age 7-8, and I last played Final Fantasy XII.
I'm quite keen to play through IX in fact, but I don't own any consoles at the moment. I think that may have to wait till the summer, at which point I will perhaps shell out for a PS3.

God I love you.

I'm about to feel old here, but my first FF was... well... Final Fantasy. On NES. I didn't get very far on it, only through the Marsh Cave, IIRC. And I didn't play another FF until I got my hands on my brother's friend's copy of VI on SNES. Played the hell out of that game.

Most recently, I still need to finish XII. I'm cleaning up some of the hunts. I haven't decided whether I want to go after Yiazmat or just go ahead on and beat the game. BUt eh.
 
The first game I played was Final Fantasy VII

Although I did try Final Fantasy VI (or 3 as it was called on SNES) for about 5 minutes when it first came out but that doesnt really count.



I am currently playing Final Fantasy XI (playright right now actually)
 
My first FF was VIII, I think. My cousin introduced me to the series, and I've been hooked ever since. My most recent one is FFXII.

My first Final Fantasy game was Final Fantasy 8 (It was actually my first rpg). A friend of mine let me borrow his copy and it was scratched up pretty badly, so I couldn't really get past the first disc. Squall was the hooking point for me because I liked his attitude towards those around him. Back in 2004-2005 (when I first played the game) I was feeling the same way (the whole "whatever" or "piss off attitude"), and to see that put into a game was kind of wowing.

It remains my favorite FF till this very day, although I haven't played any others outside of VII, a little bit of X, and a little bit of IV. I've traded the game in 5 times and brought it 5 times, working on 6.
 
My first Final Fantasy was FF7, I was like 8 years old lol, and my older brother came out of the shop with it and I was like why did you get number 7? i was like wheres the others and he said it looked cool so I played it and loved it. FF7 brought me into RPG's so :D after that I bought FF8 on release and enjoyed that and as well as FF9 the PS2 generation was the one where i borrowed them off of my mates.
 
FF7 was my first when I was about 13. I remember I was at my sister's friends house and her dad had the game. He traded it me for this game called Bio Dome ( knock off version of Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter). Played and been hooked ever since. :)
 
IX was the first I owned and beat. VIII was the first time I saw the game being played.
 
The first game I ever played was final fantasy X. And that was aaaaaall thanks to my brother... I saw him play it when I was little. And last year I saw at a used game story, since I never saw the ending I got it and I couldn't stop! I suddenly had to have the others... and well, here I am today =3.
 
My first was IX, definitely not a customary one most people list. For some reason I didn't wonder where all 'the other ones are'. I saw the cover of the game at a shopko and I grabbed it. It was way different from most any other game I'd played. I really liked it, finally a game that somewhat appealed to my intelligence level. A game that made you think a little. Then again, maybe I was playing a little too much Mario.

Technically though, the first one I played was VII, back when it was playing as a demo in Target. I remember this big line/group around it, I finally got around to playing it. I just remember all these kids watching with our eyes wide thinking it was the most amazing thing we'd ever seen. We all talk about the hype and popularity of FFVII now. But I remember experiencing it, we can be cynical about it now, but even in my little town, the popularity was real and intense. Looking at that white cover, Cloud with his gigantic Buster Sword looking up at the massing ShinRa building, you could just look at it and you knew that it must be one hell of a game.

So...I guess my first was sort of halfway between two games. I played the demo of FFVII every time I was at Target, but I never got it. Sort of similar with Ocarina of Time, I missed out on the greatest game of all time...twice XD. I forgot about VII for years, saw IX and picked it up. Pretty soon I had VII-X and adored them all. Later I managed to find and play the earlier ones remade on the PS1 or GBA.

Final Fantasy VII was the first game in the series that I played, I remember i couldn't get past the boss in the second reactor where you end up falling from the scaffold or bridge that you're on.

I remember not really enjoying the game all to much. I also rented this and Tactics, I liked that game a lot more. The game art at the time appealed to me more and I was really into micro managing.
 
The first FF game I purchased was FFX, but its not first I played.

FFVII was technically my first and that's what started the addiction.
After that I kept moving forward. Number VII, VIII and IX we're brought for me by parents. Then I purchased X and X-2.

After that I went on a crazed shopping spree and got myself upto date with all of the others in the series.
 
Final Fantasy X. My friend Grant was fighting evrae when i came over and i was like holy shit wat game is this!? I had no idea final fantasy existed back then =p
 
My first FF game was I believe was the demo of FFVIII. If that doesn't count, then it would be FF1&2 Dawn of Souls. I beat FF Tactics: The War of the Lions, and I'm currently playing the PSP remake of FF1 and Dissidia.
 
Seven was my first, can't remember what year exactly i started playing it. It must've been back in 98. At the time i didn't know what an rpg was or wtf final fantasy was XD but when i started it, i was engulfed.

I've been playing rpgs ever since.

Anyhoo! Mine was FFVIII back in the summer of 1999, you all know how the story goes. Best 6 weeks hols of my younger teen years and Ive been RPGing ever since :D
 
VII was my first ^^ I watched my dad play it and then had to play it myself. I played it back in....'98 I think? And then I've played it about 15 or more times since then xD It's tied for first with IX <3333 I remember playing VIII right when it came out and...not being too happy about it xD But then IX came along and I was in love all over again ^_^
 
How could you not enjoy Final Fantasy VIII...it's my second favourite Final Fantasy game, and has got really nice graphics for a PlayStation 1 game. XD

The first Final Fantasy game I got/played was Final Fantasy VIII, but my favourite Final Fantasy game is VII. ;)

Final Fantasy VIII just doesn't have as interesting a cast of characters for my liking for it to be my favourite, they are 100% humans! I like there to be at least one more interesting party member in an FF game (Nanaki is my favourite FF character). :P
