Playstation Grand Theft Auto IV

i finished the game last night. and it was good, but not on the crazy 10/10 review scale. i might go back and hunt those pigeons, if there's any reward for them, other than that, the bonuses only really work in the single player game, which is a shame. i would like to buy some cars though, i roughly got about $400,000 at the end of the game. I might check out the multiplayer but it doesn't really appeal to me.
You only get more percent to get the 100% of the game; other than that, there's no reward. Not worthy to me, but curious indeed that you can kill them :wacky:

Gee, i can't even play this game. The last GTA I had, my parents got mad lol. They said that it's immoral and stuff. Good thing I'm addicted to RPGs. But sometimes I wonder if it would be nice to play.
Jajaja you made me remeber when my parents gone mad 'cause my brother bought Perfect Dark and he let me play it. My parents know, that it was a Mature game and don't let me play it >_<

i was 17 when i played GTA 3, no issues at all. Could just be a british thing, or parents not understanding what games actually are.

I played it before it's awesome!!! I run over as many people as I can lol. My max stars I got is 5. But I used cheats lol.

If you want to get all the stars, just go to a blocked bridge, shoot one of the cops at the other side of the barrier... and then just run!!

You'll get all the starts now and everyone would be after you! It's crazy to do!! :wacky: and fun as hell!

To be honest, I was a little let down with this game. Don't get me wrong, I found it to be great, but after a while the fun factor dies down greatly. I don't believe it is worth the perfect scores solely for the fact that the replay value seems so low on this game. But I'm sure they will improve on that in the near feature. Its like how GTA3 was the the ps3. They start adding more and more with the new games as they get used to the system more. Just wish there was more to do with your money. Like buying houses, larger car lots, and such...lets look to the future though.

I don't like GTA IV very much at all. The camera is very bad in the way that it doesn't even follow your character, I mean... I'm turning corners and I don't even know what's there. I'm walking into walls and crashing into cars all the fucking time.

And that's another thing... driving a car is near-on impossible. Forget about using the handbrake, you're spinning out of control, my friend.

It just makes for a very unpleasant gaming experience.

I was a lot younger than 17, and it didn't affect me at all.

I like the online play. Like 50 people can go on at once. Its a pretty fun game. It got a 10/10 Im impressed

Some of my friends were telling me that if you save with cheats on the ps3, some times it ruins your ps3. Now I've only heard it from them, can't even find anything about this on the GTAforums. Does anybody know if this is true. I don't have a warranty on my ps3 and really don't wanna ruin it.

It might tamper with the saved data of GTAIV itself (which may mean you have to start again) but I would highly doubt it would wreck your PS3 considering Rockstar would have allowed the usage of cheats anyway and wouldn't have done so if it would break it :neomon:

I agree, that's the one thing that annoys me about this game, it takes sooo much getting used to, and it doesn't help when the early missions are having to drive after someone or escape and you're crashing into literally everything -__-

I looked into it more and sadly it is indeed true. 1/3 copies of GTA IV can destroy your PS3, mostly your Blue Ray. But for the moment those who have had that issue, Sony is replacing their Playstation. Either way, it really isn't worth using a cheat and taking that risk. I'll just play the old fashion way.

Ihave never really been a GTA game fan but a coupe of my friends have told me that this is the best game so far and when i borrowed it i found this out, but it is the type of game i would borrow off a mate, i wouldn't personally buy it for myself as i get bored of GTA games very easily

I think it's a excellent game, but tbh, it's not a perfect 10. More like 9.5.
The storyline is excellent, the physics engine is AWESOME, the graphics are top-notch, but there is still room for improvement. I don't like the way the game went with the car designs, and I dislike the relationships stuff. It's annoying, to say the least.
The internet thing is good and funny, as is most stuff in the game. The missions are great and entertaining, and the A.I is brilliant as can be. I think that Rockstar put alot of effort into it, and they were pressured, and still produced a damn good game.
Also, I've had absolutely NO errors or game crashes.

I had just said something about this in another thread. There is a mission called "Final Interview" and it appears about 50% of people get a glitch at this point in the game. It no longer lets you continue with the games plot and you have to start all over again. This mission is fairly far into the game so I've just decided to give up with it. There is no way I'm gonna restart and do everything all over again because Rockstar messed up. Many people have said they sold the game right after out of anger. Take that so called perfect 10! So upsetting :(

Your supposed to go to an interview with some people, and since its your selected mission you can't do anything else. Except when you go to the place for the interview the door wont open. So you can never get in to complete the quest. So it was pretty much game over. For hours I thought I was just doing something wrong and trying this and that. Finally I checked out the GTA site to see tons of people with the same problem and they call confirmed that they couldn't find any way to fix it other then restarting. So I just gave up with the game.

You men when you go to the lawyer?? That you must dress "nicely"? The mission that gives you the
the guy who Michelle works for?

If it's that, it's weird, i didn't have any problems to complete it.

My opinion of the game has changed greatly over the last few weeks.

I agree. When I first got the game, I thought it was amazing. Seemed like a game that could keep me entertained for months. Unfortunately, it got boring in a week or two for me. The past GTA games are superior, I think. I loved being a one man army in Vice City and San Andreas. On GTA IV, I can't even beat up a bum without risking my life. Also, I HATE that goddamn cell phone. People call ALL THE TIME. You can ignore 'em, but they won't like you as much if you do. If they don't like you, then you can't make use of the resources they offer. It's all a pain.

So yeah, GTA IV is a good game...but it's highly overrated.

Turn down the message service. I do it all the time that i just wanna mess with the city but i don't wanna no anything on the story or with the friends. :P

So it appears that most fans of this game grow tired after completion. One great thing with the next gen games though, is you can add patches - updates - expansions to em via online. So what else would you guys like to see here? I personally feel that money is useless, I had over 1mil before I completed 50% of the game, and I really didn't need to buy anything else. There should have been other things to do with the money. Such as buying houses like in Vice City. Parking lots so you can store more cars (the two car parking spots about the city wasn't that great). A katana like in vice city ( I dunno why but I loved that weapon lol. Would be much better to see it with updated graphics and more blood while decapitating random people).

These are just a few thoughts, anybody else have anything they would like implemented into the game?

To all fans of GTA IV, Rockstar has announced upcoming DLC to be release on February 17th. The expansion, called Lost and Damned, allows the player to take control of Johnny Klepitz. Johnny is a member of The Lost, one of Liberty City's biker gangs. It has been announced that Niko Bellic will make cameo appearances. It has also been announced that there will be new weapons, vehicles, multiplayer modes, and soundtracks. No word on pricing.
