Welcome to the magical world of Lafegath(Lah-fei-jath).
It is a world of peace, prosperity and friendship.

After the last World War, most of the technology was wiped out. This sent them back several decades in the technological department.
They are now at the point, where they have light, and heat via electricity, though it stops there, as the rest is steam powered, or manual.
Although the world is peaceful, some have chosen to arm themselves with both modern and ancient weaponry. Some of the people have chosen swords, and other olden day weapons, after all, if it works, why change it?
Some have chosen newer and more modern weapons, such firearms, which come in a diverse variety, yet no Hight-Tech weapons are available, such a flamethrowers or lasers.
Various forms of explosives still exist, but few tend to use them, since the arts of magic, enchantment and thaumaturgy have taken over the need for explosive weaponry.

The annual festival was going on, in the luxurious town of Kailuna (Kai-loo-nah), to celebrate the end of the 10 year war. This is where the traveling circus had set up their camp. The World of Lafegath was far more festive than most, partially due to the fact that the drinking age was 16 years, thus there were many more bars in Lafegath than our world and they were exceedingly more crowded.
The Ferris wheel was spinning, to the sound of the steam engine that was powering it.
The children were running around without a care in the world, with various sweets and balloons grasped in their petite hands.

For whatever reason, you are at that festival, whether it is a tradition of yours, or you just want to get away from the daily grind and enjoy the festivities, you are there. And you will be one of the chosen few who will fight when tragedy unfolds...

Ace observed the scenery, the countless people, the rides; the festival was full of people. The sun shone brightly on the whole place and the water glistened with a
gorgeous radiance.
He was walking around aimlessly, checking out all the sights.

'Wow, it's all so fascinating!'

Then something caught his eye a bright coloured sign that featured a red turtle shell, and in big letters the words, 'Shady Turtle.' It seemed to be a bar, interested in having a drink, the scythe wielding teen darted toward the bar.

The inside of the bar was crowded, just like the rest of Kailuna. He pivoted through all of the people and managed to find himself a seat.

“What’ll yeh be havin’ lad?” asked the muscular barkeeper.

“A mug of Sineffo beer please.” Ace replied in a soft tone.

“A light one eh? Comin’ right up lad.” The barkeeper replied in a crusty tone.

The man poured him a mug and handed it to Ace. With a nod, he began sipping at his drink.

Teos have been walking for some time.
He had heard about the festival that took place in kailuna.
And he decided to be in this years celebration.

He usually summoned Kelip, as he where to travel long distances, and as he would walk, wit his hood up, Kelip would be lying in the Hood, and converse with him. An this was no different time.

Kelip would ask about anything, and Teos would reply in kind.
This would continue, with various discussions, until they stopped, witch where rarely.

As he entered the town, it was as festive as Teos had never seen before.
He was downright Awestruck.
Kelip was totally different. she went hyper.
Actually to the limit, where Teos had to disband her. To keep her from making a ruckus.

A though later, and Kelip faded away. with a faded "You're Rude" being heard.

As he actually got on the inside of the city walls, the awe was much bigger.
All these things, all these people.
They where having fun, witch each other, and the various attractions.
Perhaps he would drag Kelip out, and do his 'Doll Trick'. The kids loved that.

Bur first. he wanted an ale, to wash down the dust in his throat.

"Hmm" he started as he looked around. "That one looks good enough". He said to himself, as he noticed a sign, named 'The Shady Turtle'

He entered, and used a lot of power, and agility to get to the counter, this place was packed.
he st down beside a young lad, witch seemed to be the only avalible seat in here.
The kid had just received his beverage, and looked somewhat. In s state of bliss.

Ignoring this. He asked the barkeep for an ale.
And he replied in kind, with his rusty voice, and fetched him an ale.

The city was fascinating to see, all those fancy rides and fireworks. The 18-year old man was walking the street, every man and lady that saw him where evading him, all knowing who he is. The guy stopped in front of a bar called Shady Turtle, he entered it. The place was crowded and the guy said...

18-year old guy: ''Out of my way!''

He waved his hand when saying it, and the people did made some room for him to get to the counter. The guy sat at the counter and bartender asked him in fear...

Bartender: ''W-wh-what do ya' want, H-H-Hill.''

Hill: ''The regular.''

The bartender gives Hill a brownish ale in a big glass, and he starts to sap it slowly.

Celen propped his feet up on the counter of some rag-tag place he hadn't bothered to learn the name of. He felt horrible; his lips were chapped in the cold night air, and his hair hadn't been washed since he'd taken a job babysitting for some lady's cat--two weeks ago. Perhaps he could wash his hair in a glass of ale, assuming he could afford one. That two-week job had been his last.

Celen seemed to be low on money remarkably often. He liked to think that he was thrifty, sneaking into bars only once a week and placing bets only when it was convenient, yet somehow he almost always found himself without means to pay for any shampoo. What a shame.

And of course, if there was no money for his hair, there was absolutely none for his crystals. He couldn't even remember the last time he'd had a new one crafted. It was purple, and he had no idea what it did.

He looked over lazily and saw another customer with some sort of pet-thing. Maybe it was a rat. Celen thought perhaps he should get a dog...someone to fetch him things and do work, to help him track down his mother. Perhaps. He'd never be able to pay for it, though...

Celen closed his eyes, and sighed.

*snap*

Crystal spun around, both swords in hand at the sound that had come from behind.

Damn! The thing had doubled back and was coming up behind her! Sneaky bastard.

She ducked behind a tree, her violet eyes scanning the forest that was bathed in the moon's silvery light.

A slight rustle of leaves being brushed aside. It had come closer. She took a deep breath, readying herself. It was all in the timing, measured in by her own heartbeat. She couldn't afford to miss by a second because she was breathing too fast.

She stayed there for a few more moments, standing stock stil behind a tree.

Now!

She suddenly stepped to the side, swinging one sword to slash the beast off of her as it leapt out of the tree onto her. The creature snarled at the deep cut across its chest and tried to writhe onto it's feet again. But Crystal already had a sword in it's chest before it could so much as twitch one ragged claw.

She planted one foot on its chest and pulled the serrated blade out. She wiped the blood off on it's thick fur.

It was a hybrid, a cross between a human and wolf. These perverse creations had been crafted in the War, and now were causing a lot of trouble. All the better job opportunities for her.

She quickly cut off two claws, proof of having fufilled the job.

It was a long walk back to the town, where the festivities were taking place. She enjoyed the silvery silence of the forest, and was loath to plunge once more in the detestable company of others once more.

She lingered at the boarders of the forest, watching all the merriment and cheer being spread while never being a part of it.

Finally, with a sigh, she left the quiet haven of the forest. She ignored the others, and didn't bother to acknowledge any of the stares and greetings she recieved, feining to not notice them.

Why did they have to stare at her like that?

The violet-eyed warrior came to a stop in front of a tavern. Here was where she was supposed to meet. She leaned against the wall and waited for the client to come. nine o'clock... and he was going to come at midnight.

Oh well. She'd learned the lesson of patience long ago. She could wait.

Ace's eyes shifted around the bar as he was conservatively drinking his beverage. A young man had taken one of the few remaining seats next to him, the bar was bustling and it was quite difficult to manoeuvre through the boistrous crowd, which were uttering a gamut of sounds.

Another young man had seemed to enter the bar, he seemed to radiate a frightening presence, as when he made his way through the massive crowd, they moved for him and silenced. The barkeeper seemed to fear him as well. It was rather amusing that with his presence he could scare everyone, he must of had a reputation of some sort.

He was in Kailuna alone, so it had been rather dull not being with anyone, thus he decided to make conversation with the man next to him,

"So, this place is pretty crowded, eh?" Ace asked casually, trying to make small talk.

Crystal grew bored with all the looks she was getting. With no other option to get away from the unwelcome attention, she entered the tavern.

The place was packed. As she entered, heads turned towards her and the babble of voices quieted down.

There was a pause before some man hurridly vacated the chair he was occupying. "H-here you go miss," he stammered, offering his chair.

"Thank you," Crystal replied quietly and took her seat. While she waited, she glanced around at the other patrons. Funny.... what was a farmer doing here? Her curiosity of the redhead was open and unoffensive. She was interested in that magical symbol on his hand. Why would a farmer have such a mark?

Celen put his hands behind his head and wondered whether to be bothered with making conversation. Everyone else in this bar seemed to be as troubled as he was, funnily enough. But, he noted, none of their hair was as magnificently taken care of as his was.

Celen decided to order a drink, just for his hair.

He reached into the smallest bag hooked on to his belt, his money bag, and drew out a few rusty, dented coins. A quick spit shine did nothing for their color. He slapped smallest, rustiest down on the counter and tipped his head forward.

"Whatever I can get for that, please," he said, taking down his feet and leaning forward on his elbows. "But please don't let it have alcohol in it. I'll pass out."

Not that that would be such a bad thing, in present company.

He noticed that weird new girl staring at the farmer. "Not really polite to stare," he drawled, wondering why he bothered.

The ale came one the counter, and Teos took a good drink of it, and slammed in in the counter.

"AHH!!, That hit the spot" he said as he tilted his head backwards, making the dark green hood fall off.

He felt, Rejuvenated, Recharged if you will.
He tilted his head back.
"Kelip is lucky, she doesn't feel hunger and thirst" he mumbled to himself, as he payed the barkeep the silver coin.

Suddenly, the tavern got quiet. Only for a second, Teos turned around. It was a beautiful girl. She looked like she was around 18, or perhaps 19.
She seemed to have taken an interest in Teos. he didn't know why himself. But who cares in such situations.

"So, this place is pretty crowded, eh?" said a voice to his left.

Teos completely ignored the lad.
After all, he had a beautiful girl to talk to.

Teos turned, "Barkeep, another Ale" he said, as he slammed a silver coin on the counter.
A few seconds later, the ale was served. Teos took his own, and the other one, and walked towards the Girl.
his cloak caching the wind slightly, ad he walked.

He approached her. She sat at a 2 seater table. Though, the other seat was taken.
Teos looked at the man, and the man looked back, thoguh it seemed like he had problems taking his eyes of the beauty.

"leg it" Teos stated.
the mad did as told.
Teos sat down, and slided her the ale.

"So. what does a girl like you do here?" He asked in a sarcastic manor.

Crystal ignored the man with foul-smelling hair she could smell from here. It wasn't his buisness.

Her gaze had achieved the affect she wanted. The man finally noticed her. He called for another ale and walked over to her. She contained a smile as he brusquely told the man to leave. She was quite grateful to have this new company, though no company would've been better. But at least this man wouldn't stare a her like the other one had been.

She took a sip from the ale he gave her. For having a lame name like 'the Shady Turtle' the ale here wasn't bad.

"I'm waiting for my pay for taking down a mark. Why would a farmer do with the symbol of life burned onto his hand?"

As the pickup line he used, failed so miserably, he at least got an answer, of sorts. He just nodded at first, until the words formed a meaning in his head.

'mark' so. she was a bounty hunter, or merc?

He was about to draw breath, as she continued wit her sentence.
"What would a farmer do with the symbol of life burned onto his hand?" came out of her mouth.

"Oh, crap" Went through his head. He decided to try and change the subject, with an un-detailed answer.

"Oh this" he stated, as he turned his hand, and looked at the sign. "this is just something I received from a friend." He took a sip, and continued;
"So. pay for you're mark. By that I take it you're a bounty hunter, or a merc" He hoped this would change the subject, yet be enough of an answer for the question.

Celen set down his dirty glass of dirtier water, now actually paying attention to something. This was the first thing that'd really interested him all night. Bounty hunter....

"All right now," he said, appearing at their table and placing his elbows on it, ignoring any looks he recieved in return. "I heard one of you say 'bounty hunter'. Now, how much does it pay and which one of you has the job?"

He leaned in close to the redhead, the dirty water strong on Celen's breath, and cut his eyes briefly at the weird girl. "Please," he whispered to the other man, not so quietly, "tell me it's you, not her. She kind of... I don't like her much."

Celen made a motion with his eyebrows, waggling them in a way that not even he understood, but hoped the redhead understood. He was never one for friends, or allies, but if this man would help him make quick money...

"And between you and me," Celen whispered, a real whisper now, "I think I'd make a good bounty hunter. Well, not the running-after-people part, because that would get tiring. But I can kill things easily."

Which wasn't so much a lie. He was sure there was a killing crystal out there somewhere that he had yet to find; perhaps his mother would no something about that. When he found her. Of course, the redhead didn't have to know about his elemental powers just yet. Just that they were powerful.

Potentially.

"Look," he said, giving a slight bow of the head, "I'm Celen. And you?"

OOC (out of character): During the war there armies made hybrids, human and animal crossovers, to make a super-soldier infantry. These are called 'Crafted'. Though the war was long ago, these Crafted still cause trouble for small towns, and in packs they can be dangerous. This is what Crystal is referring to later in the post.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crystal nodded at his question. "Yes, I'm a mercenary. I just took down a wolf hybrid a little while ago. You know, the kind they made in the War."

She glanced at the clock. 10:45. Gods, the night was dragging on.

She carefully noted is reaction at his response, and saw his surprise, mask though he tried.

"Some kind of friend you have there," she stated, off-handedly. "You find her in the forest?"

Before the redhead could give a reply, the man that had spoken to her earlier had suddenly made a startling appearance at the table.

She gave him a look that said nothing about her feelings towards him (not that he'd be interested in them anyways).

"I am the hunter, or merc if you prefer. The pay depends on the mark. 250 gold per a Crafted; they travel in packs sometimes. 3,000 for a dragon, more or less for specific breeds. Are you interested in going into the mercenary buisness?

"Oh, my name is Crystal Starfire. And yours?" she looked at Redhead.

"You find her in the forest?" she asked.
Just as he drew breath and tried to think of something clever.
Another person slammed down, intruding himself in this conversation.

not that Teos actually minded, this was a "saved by the bell" type of time.
Though, this person stank, not nessesairy of any beverage, but just plain stank.

Long before Teos managed to reply to this person, this Celen.
The girl interrupted:

"I am the hunter, or merc if you prefer. The pay depends on the mark. 250 gold per a Crafted; they travel in packs sometimes. 3,000 for a dragon, more or less for specific breeds. Are you interested in going into the mercenary business?

Teos was speechless, he couldn't get in a single word. so he sat back, and took a sip of the ale as the girl continued.
"Oh, my name is Crystal Starfire. And yours?" She stated, as she looked towards Teos

Teos put his ale back one the table, and replied;
"I am Teos, a hunter as well. though, we might have different ways to catching out prey" He said, as he pointed to the Hunter Rifle, that dangled casually on his back

She saw him gesture to the rifle.

"Ah, modern I see. I prefer the old methods myself." She shrugged her shoulders, causing the two longswords on her back to clink. Those swords were the only friends she had.

11:00 now. One more hour. She glanced briefly at the kid sitting at the table Teos had left. He was looking over here too. Hm.

"So, what brings you out here?"

"So, what brings you out here?" the girls asked,

"Well. myself and Kel*" *cough* "I had heard a lot of this festival, and thought I should have a look"
He took a sip of his ale, witch was now empty.
he turned towards the bar

"Yo!. Barkeep, another ale over here"
the barkeep nodded, as he pointed at Teos, a simple understandable way of acknowledgment.

A minute later, the barkeep came with the ale, and held out his hand.
Teos placed a silver in his hand, and the barkeep put the ale on the table.

"so then. Celen was it. What are you doing out here" he asked.
hoping that they would loose inters of the remark, where he almost said 'Kelip'
since he didn't want to let his summoner powers being too well known.
as well as for Poor kelip, if this happened.

Celen had practically fallen asleep with all the boring conversation out here; now he snapped back to life, happy to be talking about himself. "Well," he said loudly. "Gist of it is, I need money. I had money, once. But now it's all gone. Like, it was here one moment and gone the next. Poof."

He clapped his hands together and then pulled them quickly apart, mouthing "poof." Just in case the two people at the table were too stupid to understand him. As far as he was concerned, most were.

"Anyway, see this scar on my face? 'Course you don't, I covered it with make-up. Actually, this cat lady did it for me, and that was two weeks ago, so it might have come off by now. Anyway." Pointing to the thin line that ran across his nose, Celen wondered idly if his drink had been spiked; words certainly were coming to his lips more easily than usual. Or perhaps it was just the fact that he was in real human company again.

"So in looking for money, I come places. Not all places let me in, on account of the fact that I'm only seventeen, but that's their problem, not mine. Actually, maybe it would be my problem on account of I'm the one always getting locked out, even though they're missing out on my fabulous company and I swear this drink is spiked!"

Celen turned over the glass that was in front of Teos, not caring if anything splashed on him as long as it didn't get in his hair. "Anyway, what was that bird thing on your shoulder? Or is it a rat? You know, I've always had a thing for dogs... Wait, no I haven't."

His eyes glazed over.

The man next to him had seemed to ignore Ace and talked to a young woman, soon another young man joined them, he had kind of been eavsdropping on their conversation, mercs and hunters, interesting. He proceed to take a swig of his beer when...

"So, what brings you out here?" The woman had asked, feeling this was his way to drag himself into the conversation, he swallowed his mouthful, slided his chair to their table and began.

"I'm just here to enjoy the festival, also, maybe I might find some action. I just travel the world for adventure." Ace had stated.

"What about you?" he inquired.

"I'm out here to bring down a mark. It was a wolf Crafted. Now I'm waiting for the client to come and give me my pay."

She idly fingered with the dragon fang at her belt. She looked out the window, at all the fesitvities going on, with the bright full moon above. She hated this firelight. You could never see the soft moonlight with a candle lit.

Ace had taken down a crafted before, it was a fun fight. He always enjoyed the battles he was in, fighting just gave him an adrenaline rush, the thrill of a fight. That marvelous feeling that could be achieved no other way. The thrill of the fight...

The sapphire sea looked so spectacular from outside the window, it was truly a sight for sore eyes. The way the moonlight gently glistened on th water, it was enchanting. He took another swig of his beer, it tasted fantastic, his attention soon returned to the conversation.

"By the way, the name is Ace, Ace Bladia." he began, "You are?"
