Grensen

Crystal didn't reply to his request. Drawing the two swords that hung on her back, she wasted no time in wasting the creatures that suddenly attacked.

She knew his tactic. The summoner needed some time.

She muttered a word under her breath, and the swords suddenly crackled with lightning.

The fiendish creatures hesitated before the swordswoman. She was quite an intimidating sight, swords crackling with lightning, violet eyes daring them to come closer.

However, Crystal had no time for their hesitancy.
As fast as the element that covered the blades, Crystal sliced down all that got too close.

Ace stared at these repulsive abominations; they were mauling and killing every man woman and child that they laid their hate-filled eyes on. Without a second thought, his casino themed scythe had burst into his hands with a blue blast and he rushed into battle head first, hacking and slashing through the weaker ones, each fading into black after a swift and strong slice from the Blackjack. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

Ace noticed Teos and Crystal were fighting, Teos seemed to be charging some sort of attack and Crystal was wielding these wicked lightning blades. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
He could fight with them; he darted next to them and gave a confident smile.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
“You guys are one scythe too short,” Ace stated with a confident tone, “Let’s turn the slaughter on these punks, eh?” <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
He charged energy into his scythe and shot a club slice, cutting open one of the armoured ones.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
“I hope you don’t mind gambling,” Ace remarked to the vile monsters, “Because I’ve got a deck of destruction, and I’m playing all the cards!” <o:p></o:p>

When the clock striked 12 the fireworks where fired immediately. But after the fireworks where fired the people where started to scream. Hill immediately stood up and looked around. There were people running from every side of the town. Then the creatures that were apperantly chasing people started to show up. Hill immediately drew his khanjars and the second hasn't passed when two 'shadow ones' attacked. One of them attacked with his hand and another one was going for body slam. Hill defend himself, with khanjars, against the one attacking with fist and he slashed downwards the one that was body slamming. The one that was body slamming felled down while the one that attacked with fist kicked Hill with foot into the stomach. The kick was so powerful that Hill flew 3 meters from 'shadow one'. Hill stands up and says while looking at the 'shadow one'...

Hill: ''What are these creatures!''

The 'shadow one' started to run towards Hill and was readying another punch. As the creature was, running thescreaming of people got louder and louder. The creature was getting closer and closer and when the distance between the creature and Hill was 1 meter, Hill throws the right khanjar on creature. the khanjar pierced through the 'shadow one' like through cherry. The creature fell down and Hill ran towards his khanjar and picks it up.

Hill: ''DAMN! I need some backup.''

Celen was definitely not prepared for this sort of thing. One moment he was rubbing his head and cursing the world; the next, something looked like it wanted to eat his face.

And he rather liked his face uneaten, thank you.

He leapt back from the creature, his hand immediately going to his belt, but couldn't make out which color crystal was which. In a time like this, that was crucial. Oh well--better just start flinging rocks at the thing and hoping his powers didn't drain to zero. He didn't want to find out what would happen if they did.

At the moment the beast pounced, Celen leapt behind it and snapped out his sharpest, newest crystal. He remembered it being red--he'd had a lot of those made, because they took the least of his energy. But now was not the time to worry about that. Now was the time to worry about his life.

Celen skidded to the side as the beast realized it had missed its mark and turned around to attack again; doing so put it in the perfect rang for Celen to hurl his crystal straight at it, like a dart. He saw in the poor light the tip of the rock pierce the beast's skin. A pretty good shot, for a drunken teenager.

Wouldn't do much damage, though. The beast shook itself once and the crystal popped out; Celen didn't wait to see where it landed. The creature had not to much as a limp in its foot despite the fact that that one crystal had already drained part of the boy's energy.

With a great roar Celen hurled two more crystals at it, ducking as the beast pounced at his head, and then the boy managed to pierce its underbelly with two more. A miracle, perhaps. But it worked.

The creature slowed down just long enough for the drunken boy to get the rest of his wits about him, and run.

OOC: for INFO
-Basilisk
a Basilisk is a serpent, with feathers around it's neck. They are about 20 feet long, and the feathers extend down their body for about 5 feet. They do not have a mouth, but a beak, and their eyes are glassy white. Like most serpents, they have no eyelids. This is a Big creature.
----------------------

Teos was nearing the end of the chant, needed to summon a rank 7 creature.
He could hear the agonizing screams of those that haven't already been so fortunate to leave.
Teos had to concentrate, if not, his time spend would be used for other stuff, and his summoning would have failed.

The time was near, Teos could feel the presence of Yefleb, His basilisk, nearing.
He heard Ace's voice, it was good, he would be protected enough to get the ritual complete.

Suddenly, Teos' whole hand light up, shining brightly.
Then, just over a minute. Teos opened his eyes, and grinned.
Alot of these small creatures, noted this, and started charging his 'defenses', witch was Crystal, and Ace for the moment.

Teos' Grin turned evil. as green particles started collecting behind him.
the particles took the vague form of a giant serpent, but with some varied results.
A bright green flash. And behind Teos. Stood a basilisk. Letting out a roaring sound, that could freeze the blood in your veins.

"Don't worry" Teos smiled, "his mind, and mine, are one" he said, as he readied his rifle
"Kill them"
was the command, given to Yefleb in his mind. The huge creature roared yet again, and sped into the crowd.
Various of the 'shaded ones' where sent flying various ways, and even for a beak, this thing bit them in half.

Teos laid aim, and fired. The aimed creature, fell, with a hole through its head

"Thanks for the protection" he stated to his 2 'companions'

"lets end them"

The center of the city was crowded with 'shadow ones' and Hill, clearly, couldn't fight all of them so he had to find his way out of the center. Hill had three choices: head over to where bar is, head towards where the carnival was held or head to the marketplace. Marketplace and carnival holding place where to open and probably there would be more 'shadow ones' there, so he has to head towards the bar. As he headed there three more 'shadow ones' appeared. Hill didn't want waste any of his time so he hold his both khanjars with left hand and with right hand drags out his... lighter. The 3 'shadow ones' began to charge at Hill, so he quickly put on fire on lighter. The fire on lighter started to move towards the khanjars, and as fire touched the khanjars they turned on fire. The creatures where getting near and Hill, to defend himself, waved around the khanjars with left hand and putting back the lighter into pocket with right hand. The creatures hesitated to attack when Hill was waving with khanjars.

Hill: ''Time to fry, baby!''

Hill now grabbed the right khanjar on right hand and cross-slashes two creatures. The creatures burned down like a paper and only one creature left. Hill had no time so he tackled the monster and head towards the bar.

Celen couldn't take much more of this. The drink was making his head hurt, and the five crystals had drained him of so much energy he was about to go reeling into someone. Or something. It wasn't safe here.

"I have to get away," he groaned, clutching his head, then straightened up. Was that...Teos? With that monster?

Celen stumbled over to him, his vision blurring and going double. Somehow he found his voice again and made it loud enough to say, "Please, protect me... When I have more energy... I'll return the favor..."

Then he crawled somewhere and felt the world go black.

Crystal cut down one more shadow creature and looked up at the towering general.

The wings of flame cast a lurid hue on the townsfolk before he cut them down. Those wings were turned towards her. Hmmm. I fine target, I think.

Her blood raced through her veins, and she was intoxicated on the fine, red wine of battle. She raised one sword in the air, the other lower, in front of her. The lightning turned violet on her swords, matching her eyes.

The a violet aura of energy swirled around the blades, rippling around the weapons like flame.

With impeccable timing, she slashed the air with the swords, sending a deadly beam of crackling energy flying towards the fiery-winged fiend.

The bolt slammed into it making it stumble. It turned to face the source of the attacke... which only proved worse for it.

For Crystal was far from being done. She slashed the air and additional nine times, each time a bolt of violet energy was sent flying from the sword tips, and slamming into the creature.

When her assult had fininshed, she was breathing hard, eyes shining with the fun of it all. The sheer power was like none other.

The winged creature was... bleeding? What could have been blood oozed from several deep wounds. The blood was black, seen only agains the dark body because it gave off its own lurid red glow, like the moon in the sky above.

what surprised Crystal the most was that her attack hadn't killed it.

maybe it dodged some of the bolts?

Whatever the reason, it was still alive and looking right at her.

She readied her swords.

"Come on then!" she challenged it.

"Whoa..." Ace began, gawking with his jaw dropped at Crystal's spectacular assault on the General, his expression soon changed from shocked to exhilarated, "That... Was... Freaking awesome!" The battle driven teen soon regained his composure, and blurted out,

"Now it's my turn to go freaky on the freak!" Ace remarked with a smirk on his face.
Ace charged his scythe with energy, it began to glow bright white, but soon faded away as quickly as it came. A large red heart, had burst into existence right behind the general, Ace soon felt his body plunge towards the heart in a gravity defying burst of speed and blast right through the general, not impaling him, but causing severe damage, the general moaned with a grotesque voice.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
Ace was now soaring down towards the head of the General with the spear on the back of the scythe, it was a direct hit and with a sickening squelch and another horrible moan. Trails of blood leaked from the wound. With athletic elegance, Ace vaulted himself off the scythe, flipped and broke his fall by landing with his claw into the foot of the general. This had disabled the foot and he leaned to one side. He was easy pickings now.

Hill was running through the street attacking and evading the dark creatures. The more he ran further through the street, the more 'shadow ones' chased him. He finally saw bar and four people in front of it fighting the creatures. It was the four people Hill met in the bar. But as he got closer he saw them fighting a gigantic creature with really big sword. But then he feels something, a gentle breeze of night wind.

Hill: ''PERFECT!''

He says loudly and stops running. The wind changed its direction towards Hill's khanjars. Then he releases his khanjars. But strangely khanjars didn't fall on ground, instead of that they were floating. The wind, that Hill by the movement of his hands, was carrying the khanjars. Hill looks behind and then he looks at the shadow general. Hill stretches his right hand towards the creatures that were chasing him and sends the right khanjars towards them, and he stretches his left hand towards the shadow general and sends left khanjar on him. The right khanjar swept through a lot of 'shadow ones' and the left khanjar slashed shadow general in the left shoulder. Now shadow general could only attack with his right arm.

Yefleb, had lied waste to a lot of the smaller ones.
He had to be full sooner or later.

As Teos took down a few more. he noted, that the general thing, was open, and severely wounded.
Not only this, but this general, it seemed like it was hindered by something.
something that froze it right after the wings sprouted.
Teos tried to remember...
"OH, thats it" he said out loud. The amulet, the general was active until he 'activate' it. Somehow, this had hindered him to attack.
Lucky... For us.

"Chance" he said to himself with a grin, and it seemed that Yefleb got the same 'feeling' since it stopped, dead in its tracks, and focused on the general.

"Do it!" Teos shouted out to the basilisk friend he summoned not so long ago. And it seemed to know exactly the plans of its master.

Teos fired a few shots towards the generals face, as he ran towards it.
Some of the shots connected, some missed.
As the general turned towards Teos. Teos had already refastened the rifle, at his back, and was grinning.

There was a slight confusion from the general. 2 Seconds later, the basilisk landed on its back, sending the general crashing into the ground.
As they landed, the basilisk dove its beak in the back of the general, making it scream a gruesome tone, over the whole city.
Forcing it to release its sword, and tried to get up.

"NOW!" Teos shouted. And the basilisk responded.
It rolled off the general, which tried to lift it self, but its wounds where to great.

The basilisk took the tainted sword in its beak, and awaited Teos.
Teos cam running, and as he closed on Yefleb, his good friend.
He took a step on the sword. And Yefleb sent them both into the air.
In mid air, Teos grabbed hold of the sword's handle, and directed it downwards.
Yefleb had done a good job with the aiming. The sword blade, lined itself up with the generals neck, quite nicely.

the general noted what was about to happen, and tried to get away.
yet, it was slammed back down, by a mighty tail.

Then, the Final stroke hit.
Teos came, along with the sword. And landed on the generals neck, Sending the sword deep into the ground, as it divided the generals neck.
No living thing could have survived that.

Teos stumbled off the corpse of the general. as he saw the 'minions' fade away.
He gave a smile in thanks to the basilisk, witch nodded before it faded away, into the very same green particles it came from.

Teos looked around himself.
Ace, the most energized kid he had ever seen.
Crystal, A beautiful girl, yet, one with a deadly sting.
Hill, an unknown man, with some funky daggers.
And....
Where did Celen go?

Meh, things for later. Teos was worn out. the fatigue from the battle, and the summoning itself creeped itself into his body.
He sat down.

And looked to the moon.
It was still black, this must have been the beginning.

Then. from nowhere, a faced, grotesque voice.
Worse then the one that just died, whispered in the dark;
"All things have a beginning, and all things have an end" before it faded away.

"What the hell?" Teos said, not really waiting for an answer.

"All things have a beginning, and all things have an end"
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
Ace’s face was written with a clueless expression, which soon became ecstatic again.
<o:p></o:p>
“Now that was awesome! The summoning, the butt whooping, the turning his own weapon against him, the whole thing was awesome!” Ace took a deep breath, “Crystal, Teos, Hill all of you hauled ass out there!” Ace congratulated, he calmed down and made his way over to Celen.
<o:p></o:p>
“He seems to be passed out, he’ll be fine later,” he stated in a neutral tone.
<o:p></o:p>
The amulet around the neck of the fallen creature had been glowing brightly, out of curiosity, Ace attempted to pick up the odd trinket, only to be given a painful repellant zap.
<o:p></o:p>
“Ouch!” Ace exclaimed, jerking his hand back, “What in the name of Sineffo’s awesome beer is this thing?”

"Sineffo's awesome beer..." moaned Celen as he stood up unsteadily and lost his balance against a wall. His head pounded so hard that for a time, colors flashed before his eyes and he couldn't see a thing. The spiked drink was starting to wear off, but the hangover was just beginning.

"Will someone stop that fotching noise!" His own voice threatened to split his head open; Celen did feel better, though, after he emptied the contents of his stomach onto the ground at someone's feet. He hoped it wasn't Teos', though; that dude could kick serious arse--plus, Celen owed him his life.

"Okay, okay," he said, straightening up and taking an unsteady step in some direction. The faces of the few people gathered around spun in front of his eyes. "I get that I"ve missed something. I don't really care what. But I do care that something tried to eat my face, and do you have any idea how scarring that is!"

His eyes wide and overdramatic, he started to sob.

“What in the name of Sineffo’s awesome beer is this thing?” Teos heard from Ace's direction.

he forced himself on his legs, and stumbled over to this 'thing'

As he got there, Ace seemed to be 'protecting' his hand. From this, amulet?
Teos sat down on one knee. and poked this thing, Gently at first. Then harder.
Nothing.

He tried to grab it. No problem.
He turned to Ace. "Look, its cool, no?" He asked, as it dangled in front of ace's face.

As the crowd dared to look outside, some thanked various gods, and prayed.
Some thanked the 4 heroes that did this.
Somehow, one being forgotten.

One though, an apprentice librarian saw the amulet, and remembered something.
His eyes widened. as he ran to his master.

------

"What" The librarian shouts out in a surprise.
The apprentice trying his best to explain.
"They have one?" he shouts as he understands what this is.

he immediately starts to raid the various shelves, and stables, looking for one book.
"Aha! Here it is" he shouts in delight. "Hurry, we must meet with them" He shouted to his apprentice, witch leads the way back.

As he comes back, and notices the amulet that Teos is holding.

"It is, It is one of the elemental sigils" just as fast as the sentence is completed. He calls for the heroes to come closer.

The librarian mumbles to himself as he skims the pages, until he comes to a page, that have an illustration of an artifact.

"Hmm.. Yes, this is in fact one of the Elementals Sigils [ES, for short]. I take it that only you are able to touch it, without getting damaged." he said, while pointing at Teos.

"This is because the ES will only let one of the same element, touch it. It is a precaution, as well as that it can heighten the powers of the wearer, if you know how to activate it."

he flips a page

"The very fact that it is here, means that this world will be facing havoc, like never before."
he turns a few more pages. until he comes to one that is very similar to the one that Teos has.

"Yes it seems as I was correct. But. This means that Gouka.... and.. the Agrios.."
He stumbles back a few meters, and sits down in a chair that the apprentice conveniently carried for him.
"We are doomed." he stated while covering his face with his right hand.
"What do you mean. What can be done to stop this" Teos asks.
The librarian takes down his hand, and starts to explain.
"The pendant you have around your neck, it is not a pendant at all. It is one of the Elemental Sigils. They are the things that give the Master Sigil the power to eighter close, or open Grensen. For ever."

"Grensen is the borderline, a portal if you wish, between Lafegath, and the realm of evil. It seems that they have managed to open Grensen, but as of now, it is like a normal door, it can be left open, and closed. However, only the Master Sigil has the power to make it so that it remains on the chosen position."

He stands up, and flips a few pages, and continues.

"Gouka, one of the 3 lords of darkness, have long since wanted to take over this realm, and become a God of sorts. He has a vast army of Agrios. The Agrios is the shadow creatures that he command, his race if you will. He will most likely send some high ranking, and powerful generals. To acquire the ES. That was most likely one of them you defeated, since you have one now."

He flips a few more pages.

"The ES where once guarded bu guardians of the Master Sigil. That is the reason to why the ES are in a pendant format. The Guardians wore them, to make it easier to protect them. they sealed themselves in chambers, that can only be opened by one that have been marked by the Sigils. Gouka must have let the generals touch the Master Sigil. To gain this mark."

he flips 2 pages

"If the generals manage to bring the ES to Gouka, he will use them , to permanently lock Grensen open, and allowing more Agrios enter Lafegath. If that happens, We are as good as dead"

Teos interrupts; "What can be done to stop this. To, lock Grensen for ever?"

"There is one thing. If you get all the ES to the Master Sigil, and permanently lock Grensen, we will be saved. Though, I doubt that Gouka will let you have the Master Sigil without a fight"

He sits back down

"Do not worry though, he can not lock Grensen in any position, unless he have all the ES. and since you have one, for now. He will have you hunted, and the world will not be engulfed"

he gets back up, and prepares to leave.

"If you really want to save the world. you should get the rest of the ES, and lock Grensen. I doubt that all of the ES are found, some of them must still be locked up in the guardians chambers. The chambers will be close to the element they represent. So, according to legend, a bearer of an ES, should be able to lead you to another one. And so forth."

he turns around, and continues

"However, you where lucky. This general was easy, because he was halted by the element of life. Since he was evil, and taking life, the ES blocked him. This will not happen again. Since the other generals will be acquiring there respective element"

Suddenly. he looked as if someone bonked him on he head.

"yeah, thats right" He started.
"Black Moon rising
And creatures from the ether attack.
The heroes that will stand back to back:
One with violet eyes,
One holding life.
Man of Earth.
The Reaper of Power,
And the Fury of the Winds.
Will bring the light back."

he took a breath, this had to be too much for his old lungs

"Ever heard that before?" He asked. "I'm rather sure this is you. although, it seems as you are missing a member."
he surveyed the 'heroes', and got basic ideas to who, was whom.

"It seems as you are missing one. The earth user isn't here. Ah well. I take it you know enough to find this person, and hopefully save us. May the gods light your path"

At that, he left.

He had explained a lot of things. And somehow, the pressure was put on Teos.
Teos took up this Amulet.
This. Elemental Sigil
This. Amulet of Life <-- link.

Seeing that Teos, with help of big birdy snake, killed the general using general's own weapon all the 'shadow ones' began to disappear in thin air. Hill grabbed both his khanjars and sheathed them, the wind again changed the direction from Hill's khanjars to direction it was breezing before. Hill walks towards the group when suddenly a scary voice, like from nightmare, whispers...

Voice: ''All things have beginning, and all things have an end.''

Hill continues to walk towards the group. Ace, a young guy with scythe, tryes to pick up something from ground, but he only got zapped. The thing he tryed to pick up was some kind of amulet that had two red feathers on it. Then Teos, the so called 'farmer' with a rifle, tryes to pick up the amulet, but he wasn't zapped like the scythe guy was. Hill tryes to say something when he was interrupted by an old librarian that started babbling about the elements, Gouka. The Agrios where probably creatures Hill and other four where battling. Then when the old librarian stopped babbling he left. Hill sighes and the says...

Hill: ''OK, people. Is everyone okay?''

OOC: Before I go on holidays (see sign up thread) I think I can fit in one last post.

''OK, people. Is everyone okay?'' asked the man the barkeeper had earlier identified as Hill.

"Yeah, I'm fine," began Ace, "a litttle tired, but fine."
He fixed his magnificent sea blue eyes on his immaculate scythe, which was untainted, despite floating around in the shadowy and chunky remains of the Agrios general.

"Where would a "reaper of energy" be without his trusty scythe?" Ace asked out loud to nobody in particular, but of a high enough volume for all to hear. With that, the 'Reaper of Energy' lifte his hand infront of him, and simply watched as Blackjack had warped in a light aqua blue burst into his hands.

"Well, if we are some sorta cool ,cliche chosen heroes that are gonna travel together and snag ourselves some ES, we should get to know eachother a little better, eh?" Ace proposed to the group.

Ace took a deep breath.

"Anyways, I'm Ace Bladia, a 16 year old who hails from Kippsukia, my totally awesome magic scythe my dear dad whipped me up is named the 'Blackjack' and it's a part of me. Kippsukia is a town of war, my dad got injured in a war there so we moved out into the country, but despite the awesome scenery and the great natural beauty of the country, I got bored of the lack of adventure and action so I started travelling the world searchin' for it. And BOY did I find some good adventure in this festival, one hell of a party I ain't gonna be forgettin' any time soon." Ace paused for a brief second, shifted his calming blue eyes on each of the others one by one for a slight second each. "So dudes and dudette, who's next?"

Ace threw Blackjack into the air as it shortly vanished in it's usual blue burst. Ace stared intently at the others prepared to listen to their tales.

Hill yawns when Ace said that he and his family had to move from country. After Ace ended his speech Hill looks at all four of them and then says...

Hill: ''Well, Ace, since you started a conversation I will only say this: I am 18, I live in this town and lets say I have a greater authority here than the mayor.''

Teos hanged the newly acquired amulet around his neck.
And took up his hood.
And sat down. He gave a small thought, and 5 seconds later.
Kelip materialized herself. She immediately entered his hood after gaining consciousness.

Teos saw Ace, pick up his scythe and making an introduction.
Hill did so as well. though, somewhat undetailed.

Teos got up, and stumbled over to the group, that started to gather.
Looked at Ace, "reaper of energy, eh?" he muttered. "Then I take it Im the 'One holding life'." He stated with a smile. before he recited a part of the poem.

"One with violet eyes,
one holding life.
one of Earth.
A Reaper of Energy,
And A Fury of the Winds."

He looked at his 'comrades'. and started.
"The one with violet eyes, it has to be you, Crystal. Since you're the only one with violet eyes, Ive ever seen"
He looked at his hand. "Im the one holding life. Ace here, is the reaper of energy. And Hill, is eighter the one of earth, or the fury of the winds" he smiled. "though, we are missing one" he said, while looking around.

This was somewhat too cliché, yet. it seemed that there where some truth in it.

"Well. for an introduction." He started.

"I come from a farm, in the forest of Vasogn. One day, I was walking in the forest, and hear a plead of help. I checked it, and Kelip was the one needing help"
At hearing her name, Kelip popped out from the hood, and sat down on Teos' right shoulder.
"This is Kelip" he stated, as he pointed at the Fairy on his shoulder.

"She is the one that gave me my powers, and became my first summon. Since he is the one that gave me the powers, she is the only one that can defy my orders" he stated as he poked her of his shoulder.
she fell towards the ground, but avoided it, and flew back up on Teos' shoulder.
"Thats rude" she stated in an annoyed tone.
"yeah." He stated under a small smile.

"I keep her summoned quite often, for company, and she have take a liking to lying in my hood, entangled in my ponytail. She says it keeps her warm."
Teos looks at her, and she just returns the biggest smile, such a small creature can give. A few seconds later, she runs back into the hood, ans shuffles around a bit.

Teos sighs.
"yeah, there she goes again."

He took a deep breath.
"At my age of 22, I got this rifle from my father, and left the village."
"On my travels, I met, and contracted The basilisk you saw, I wont mention his name, since his species hates for people to know their name.."

Teos looks at them.
"Well, thats it for me, if you have any questions, feel free to ask"

Crystal the voice whispher it's ominous message. It didn't really surprise her. If all things end, then so must you. She thought. Many tried to escape fate and all failed.

She listened as the the librarian explained everything. Grensen. Agrios. The history of things yet to come.

She gave Ace the attention he wished to have when he told his story, out of courtesy if nothing else.

She didn't like this Hill character. His boldness and condesending attitude did not sit well with her at all.

A history? They wanted her history? Tough luck. They'd get the short story.

"I'm an orphan, abandoned shortly after I was born. When I left the orphanage, I joined the military and eventually gained the rank of general; one of three in the army.

But it was corrupt and I'm not in the habit of slaughtering innocents or letting them be slaughtered. So I left, and I'm now merc. But you'll find none better at the sword than I."

She was not bragging. What she said was plain truth.

When Teos spoke and the fairy appeared, Crystal was elated to see one of the feyfolk again.

She stepped up to Teos and spoke into the depths of his hood, where Kelip had disappeared.

"It's been a long time since I've spoken with your kind, Kelip," she said.

As crystal spoke into the hood, Teos wondered somewhat.

some shuffling was heard, and half of her popped out.
"what do you mean?" she asked. "you want to talk to me?"
