How do you play?

I just use attacks. Some times I just use attack. Or I'll use some special abilities. I only use mage if I have to, to flans/elementals ect.

I only use summons if I really need to or want to do some good ownage fast. :wacky:

I'm mainly an attack whore, but do like to use offensive magic.

Never really use buffs much (unless I'm playing FFXII) Haste is the "buff" I use most. Occasionally protect, hardly ever use Shell.

Probably use White Magic more than any other type.

I like my damage dealers.

I usually just bash the crap out of everything I see, don't usually use much magic unless I need it to heal myself. I just find mashing the attack button easier than scrolling through menus to find particular spells. Most of the time I find random enemies to level up so unless I come across something rather strong then there is no need to use magic (unless I'm using Lulu in FFX)

However, if I am fighting a rather hard boss or the boss does certain status damage attacks then I feel forced to use magic. I mainly use counters, but sometimes I will use magic like haste, just to give myself an extra leg up. Especially when they have some huge, devastating attack, if thats the case, then I usually try and get the fight over and done with as quickly as possible.

But in terms of game play strategies, mine always changes. I never have a set pattern because every game is different. Also, there is rarely a boss that is equal to another boss so whatever worked on one sometimes wont work on another.

i just have 2 all out attackers and 1 mage that casts all the spells on every 1 else while the other 2 just attack and when the mage has finished wit the spells they just start attacking as well.

In my first play through of any game, I always struggle somewhat and end up using whatever sounds the most powerful, until I learn otherwise - usually, by my second time, I'm aware of what's around the corner and can prepare more fully. As such, in my second attempts, I tend to simply attack, attack, attack, occasionally adding in something fancy to make it look as though the battle is less monotonous than it is.

I remember when I was younger I used to just be all about summons, and magic. But as I get older i think "this takes too long!" (why is that when we get older our patience runs short?).

but yes, I'm all for boosting Attacks, and I always try to get everybodys best limit break. Learning new abilities when nessersary. But I am one of those gamers who just love to boost everything. When I start an FF I always go for the "perfect game", where all my characters are just maxed out. For some reason I never stick to that plan. Which adds to the replay value I guess.

I don't use many summons, but If I miss one, I'm always super pissed.

With my ff games i am a full on atacker (aka NO MERCY!)
i rarly use magic unless its absolutley necisery. I go around it the random battle scenes and get the levels up to the best and go and kick the bosses but :P

ff8 was an exeption though because i found that i had to use magic alot in that game

FF8 and 9 I was an attacker rarely did anything strategic. Black magic was the favourites but also attacked

In X i'm using more status aliments and physical attacks and the occasional summon.

I guess it depends on the game

I try to keep it balanced with what I do. I like attacking when it does a lot of damage (i.e. Squall with Ultimas junctioned to Str...) but black magic is cool too.

Oh and yeah, in FFX the buffs are awesome; Haste, Protect, win.

I tend to play going to fast, healing alot. I mean that I fight at being roughly 60% of the level they say you should be, and I win. Also there is the attacks if you are dealing massive damage before or are just immune to everything then heck yea you are going to win.
I have beaten Sephiroth at level 30.

like a review. i guess I was bored

well I like the games where a fighter is good at casting magic too. So FF6 7, 8, 10 and such work. Also black magic never appealed to me until a friend of mine showed me how much more damage black magic can cause compared to regular fighters. Like in ff9 vivi could hit more then zidane could but he runs out of mp and becomes useless. Thats why I like games where pretty much anyone can become a fighter/mage.

So in ff 1 I pick fighter, w mage, black mage, black belt. that way I get the bet physical attackers and magic giving me that feel I like.

FF2 - I try to make everyone a fighter except for 1 casting cure to level it up.

FF4 I liked the set up but it was straigt forward.

Ff5 - I pretty much did a ff 1 set up.

ff 6 - I used a guide to get the best stats like level 68 to 72 if you equip bahamut you'll always end up with 9999 hp. and then you can level anything else up the way you want.

ff7 - my favorite!! I master my materia and beat stuff up anyways want.

FF8 - I use attack more then any other game. Using spells means you lose stat points if you got it junctioned. GF's make up for no spell casting. If I want to see magic I summon or save the game just so I can reload after I see the spells.

FF9 - again I use attacks. Vivi gets on my nerves. I do like to learn as much as I can, so if my team has learned all the abilities I'll switch them to learn others.

ff10 - this has got to be the most stricked on how to fght. only one character can kill a certain enemy. A holes.

FF11 - well yeah be a w mage or a ninja why don't you. No no I started as a monk and didn't get much attension. I like to use my hundred punch thing as much as possible but other then that attack was all I could do.

ff12 - Well I try to learn everything and usally have the L board complete real fast. Mainly I learn quickenings.

The tactics - I like duel wield.

I like to use attacks and black magic, white magic and summons get on my nerves for unknown reasons o_O I liked the materia system because I could have a team of strong warriors, leaving to few materias the white magic/summoning thing. (You can imagine how much i hated Garnet and Eiko in FFIX for being stuck with white AND summonig! >.< )

I usually have a character that I use as a tank, a character I use as a back-up spellcaster/healer, and a character just to use, such as the game's main character.

Like in FFX, right now, I have Auron, Tidus, and Lulu/Yuna.

I tend to go with a general setup. Two fighters, a white mage and a black mage. Though I do like summoners so I do on occasions switch black mage for summoner. Though for games like FFVII and FFV I do mix and match depending on the different bosses.

This is interesting...
Normally, I just use physicals unless the enemy has a massive Defence/Vitality. This is my general FF strategy.

In X, I am up to just fighting Monster Arena creatures for items and equipment. Hastega is my best friend here. Then I just pummel them to death while switching characters occasionally for EXP spread, Summon if things get desperate. When up against bosses in the game, I usually get my Overdrive Gauge full for all characters and Aeons so that in battle I can unleash a massive Overdrive fight and reduce the boss to tears.

In VIII however, I never have Magic as one of my commands. I don't want to lose even one of my junctioned magic. So attack is the way to go. When I'm training, I purposely kill Squall so I can Phoenix Down him in critical for Limit Breaks.

As for X-2, normally I just attack and use items. I haven't trained a White Mage so I can't use buff-up magics unless I use items. Usually, I don't use buff-ups in this game.

My main thing is physical damage. I'm not one to use magic unless I really need to such as healing spells or if an enemy uses a buff spell where regular attacks don't work. As far as summoning goes, I hardly ever use them. The only time I do is when I'm fighting a difficult boss. As far as limit breaks goes, it's whenever there available. I basically use this same strategy in almost every FF game I played.

I'm the type of person who likes to play a game from many different angles. The best games I can hint out are games like FF Tactics, where I have the ability to use wide varieties of strategies in trying to counter an enemies weakness.

1) Most games I prefer 2 melee (1 Meat Shield, 1 thief type character)
2) I usually use 1-2 magic casters depending on the scenario
3) I always use 1 ranged user (Bow, Gun, Xbox)

I like to find ways to eliminate whatever I take on as fast as possible with little to no down time. I hated games such as FFXII because they gave to much of an option for characters. I think that all characters in the game should have a set criteria they fall into.

Say they are really good at physical strength...

Say they are really good at Magic attack/bonus

Say they are amazing at range

Say they are good at critical attacks, but suck at taking damage

Sort of like that. I'm a very conservative player usually though in a way that I have to level up everything and try to get everything in the game as far as spell/materia/xp lvl ups.

Depends on the game. In VIII it is pretty hard not to avoid magic like the plague and mainly stick to attacks, limits and GFs. The nice thing about VIII was statuses were easy to junction and thus use; I normally don't use them otherwise, as I prefer to use damaging attacks instead. My first playthroughs on the games I was pretty hack and slash attack happy. This time through I am trying to be subtle, using magic, buffs, and blue magic (my new best friend)

In Final Fantasy VII I rely heavily on magical-based attacks, like Aqualung and Big Guard, but towards the end of the game when my characters get stronger I alter my tactics to physical attacks instead. In Final Fantasy VIII I tend to stick to physical attacks and limit-breaks. I never normally have one tank, or one spell-caster, all of my characters are usually very balanced.

I like to have a Tank, a Mage and an All-Rounder in my party. I like the games where I can have someone proficient in both Black and White magic in my party. Dealing damage with magic is one of my main strategies, and I always concentrate on getting the best magic spells before the best weapons first. I like making my tank able to withstand a lot of damage, so I don't have to look after them, with my Mage and All Rounder capable of both damaging the enemy and looking after the party.
