How old were you when you played your first Final Fantasy?

I'm starting to feel too old to be here.

My first was FFIV on the SNES when I was 10. It way maybe my third game, and I got it used from a local video store that was going out of business.

I fell out of the loop until FFVIII when I was maybe in 8th grade, maybe HS, I don't remember. After that, I backtracked for V, VI, and VIII, then kept up with each game from there. Final Fantasy I is actually my most recent game.
 
i believe i was 12 and it was final fantasy x that game jus blew me away at the time and still does ive prob replayed it at least 5 times and will again if its re released for the ps3

after I played KH I went and picked up FFIX
I liked the cover best :}

got stuck, put it down for several months got stuck again. this went on for years untill my PS1 memory card reformatted itself and oh how I cried. I was about halfway done with the third disc.
The game was really hard for me to get through because it was my first RPG, besides KH witch only half counts

I was so upset I couldn't bring myself to play it until I was about 17, and I backed up the memory on three different memory cards as I played it. Took maybe about a month or two to pass it, because I knew what I was doing by then.

its my favorite FF still, and the first game I ever played until the sun came up
 
correct me if i'm wrong, but i think FFVII released in '97? which would put me at 9 yrs old.
that was the first FF experience i ever had, and i'll never forget it. i dont think i got much done lol, but i remember it was amazing to me how much fun it was.

the next FF i played was X; which came out in '01 i think... so i was about, 13/14?
that freaking game blew my mind. i remember thinking astonishing the graphics were, especially during cut scenes.

i wish i could go back and relive those feelings of "first time playing".. what a rush. haha
 
I was 4 when I started playing. Quite young right? But, at that age, I loved it and that is when I became a Final Fantasy fan and a gaming fanatic. My first Final Fantasy was Final Fantasy IX!
 
I got into the Final Fantasy Universe through FF10.
I played through that shortly after its UK release in 2002, and loved the game. So started buying some of the earlier games, and eventually got hooked on the entire series.
so yeah, I was around 12 when I started playing.
 
I think...my first encounter with Final Fantasy was on the GameBoy when I was like, 6-7. Played "Final Fantasy Legend III". I loved it, so decided to move on from there. :monster:
 
I tried playing them at a really early age but found it was hard to play them without the ability to read... so I watched my mom play them until I was about 10. The first I tried playing was FF!V the first I REALLY played was FFVII.

I was 14 at d time when I pick FFVII, and belive it or not, I was on vacation and I only had like... I dont remember how much but very little quantity. Anyway, when I saw Cloud on the cover, and the title, I just thought it was so epic...

"FINAL FANTASY VII"

and with roman numerals and everything, I though it was the cooles thing ever. So even on vacation, with out even knowing if it will work on my computer (cause it was the computer version) I pick it up, buy it, and wait like... 3 weeks till I return home to try it out.

Ever since I became a creazy fanboy for the series, and is still one of my favorite games today, as a series and individually.
 
I was about 11 or 12 when i had my first experience of final fantasy. At the time I did'nt have a ps2 so i was'nt able to play FFX which was the lastest one at the time I think. So I played FFTactics advanced on my GBA, quickly followed by dawn of soals FF1+2. Although I enjoyed them, I would'nt say I was a real fan until I was about 16.
 
It was in 2005, so I was 11. I didn't have a PS2, not yet. I used to play games like Crash Bandicoot :) I didn't even know what Final Fantasy was.
My cousin told me that he had a great game for me, the best game he had never played. He lent me FFIX, and it was love at firts sight. Well, I wasn't really able to play it, 'cause I was too young and it was a difficult game for me, but I managed to finish it.
Then he lent me FFVIII, and I became a great fan of the series. Then I bought a PS2... and I played all the others.

And now, 6 years later, I'm still a very big fan of FF. I've played most of the FF games, and I'm very happy to have done it.
 
I started playing FF7 two days ago. I was watching a commercial on T.V and saw an advertisement for a new FF game and it reminded me of how my friends at the last school I went to talked about FF a lot. I guess I was curious and wanted to try the game so I google'd for a good FF game to start out with which turned out to be FF7. Oh and I'm 16 right now.
 
i was 8 years old, it was in 1990 a couple months after the first one came out. i have been a devoted nerd ever since...
 
My first game was IV with Cecil, Rosa, and Kaine when I was 8 years old on my Super Nintendo. I got FF and Gradius III with my SNES for Christmas that year and I don't think I got very far on the Gradius before I picked up IV. The graphics weren't anything fab, I got confused about where to go and what to do because it was literally the second game I've ever played...but I did end up getting really into it.

My first random monster encounter after you left the castle made me jump...and I think I jumped at least the next few times after that from the encounters ...but I got used to it :awesome: The whole swords and armor thing was really interesting...and the characters were pretty decent. I thought the music was very pretty.
 
I can't remember how old I was when I first started playing Final Fantasy, all I can remember is that it was FF7. My memories are all confused and a bit messed up. But I think, I'm guessing that I was 9 years old. I wasn't very good at the game, and kept on really not taking it seriously, but I was a huge Cloud x Tifa fan and fell in love with Cloud, Tifa , Aeris, Tseng and Rufus straight away. I was seriously obsessed with Rufus and Tseng, I thought that they were really hot. :tehe:
 
I had just turned 16, and FFX had just come out the previous Fall, so I bought it along with FFVII on eBay for like $40 total. I had actually borrowed FFIX froma friend a few weeks earlier, and saw how great that game looked that I tried to scoop up as many games from the FF series as possible that Summer.

I first started playing final fantasy on my 7th Birthday, and wouldn't you know it was Final Fantasy X. I was a absolutely obsessed with the game, and I'm happy that it was the first game I played because it made me play every single Final Fantasy. Although at that age I didn't do very well, I think i made it to Evrae and I couldn't be it until I was around 7 1/2 with the help of my unlce of course.
