How old were you when you played your first Final Fantasy?

The first FF game I played was FFVII, back in 2005. I was either about to turn 13 or 13.
 
I received a PSX for my 12th birthday in November 1999, and a friend of mind kindly lent me a couple of games to get going with. He included FFVII because FFVIII had just come out 3 weeks earlier. With me having a few other games to go at, I didn't give FFVII much attention, and then I was given FFVIII for Christmas.
 
Oh, I was 12 when I first played Final Fantasy. I borrowed Final Fantasy 8 off my older sister's friend. I had actually seen a trailer for FF8 on the tv around that time, and I was recommended the game by my friend.

Gosh, I remember when I got to the end of the first disc for the first time. I was sitting in my chair, fighting Edea, just saying: 'I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die!!!!' over and over. XD

Ahhhh, memories.

I think I may have been 6 or 7 when I played the first Final Fantasy on the NES. I was too young to grasp the concept at that time and died repeatedly. I thought the game was really hard. As I grew older, I took the game out and played it again. It was still somewhat difficult but I was able to complete the game. I thought that game was horrible when I was a kid, but then appreciated it about 10 years later. Cool part is, I still have the same cartridge of FFI. The very same one in which I spoke of in this thread. :)
 
i was six when i played IV & VI, seven when i played V & VIII... i could barely understand the stories! after me finished playing VII(i was older then) i returned to IV and play all the stories again :P
 
My uncle had the PS and he played FFVII quite often, so one day I decided to sneek in and play for myself. I was hooked ever since. =p. I think i was around the age of 7 or 8 I believe. Those were some good times because I didn't know wtf was going at all! haha.
 
I was 10 years old when I first played FFIX, and that was the first Final Fantasy game I played, and also probably the first real RPG as well. I mean, I'd played Pokemon at that point, but nothing really more than that. Been hooked ever since, and over the years have gone back and played all the other titles!
 
I first played FFVII when I was 7 on my Uncle's PlayStation but I'd always get to the battle with Dyne and never be able to get past it because I had no idea how to use materia >_<
 
I was 12 when I wandered into the video rental store, liked the pictures on the back of FFVII's box, rented it out and my life was changed forever.
 
When I was 14, I played FFXII for the first time. I didn't like it very much, but thenshortly after I tried FFX and I was sold.
 
I played a demo of FFVIII when I was a wee child. It wasn't much later that I bought the actual game in a garage sale...then...well, y'know. :sup:
 
I believe I was about 10 11 when I played FFVII for the first time. It was euphoric. <3

It's strange now that I'm getting older because when I play, the characters are like almost a decade younger than I am. Make older characters, SE. :shakefist:
 
When I clapped eyes and then played FF8, I was an impressionable 13 years old... Amd I quite firmly believe after that, everything changed... |D (for one thing, the pop I used to listen to suddenly sounded lamer than ice tea lite...)
 
I was in 6th grade so.....

11 or 12 years old.

A friend loaned us his copy of FF7 saying (and I quote), "One of the best games ever made. Ever."

We never did manage to return that game to him. I'm staring at the case in front of me right now. That was about 8-9 years ago.

:wacky: Goram. And it's still one of my favorite games, too. I have no life.
 
I lost my FF virginity when I was 9 and it was to FINAL FANTASY VIII :griin: me and my two sisters(@Terra Branford & @Waitress Girl) would play that game for hours! That was the first FF I ever heard of or played and I just fell in love with it. In a matter of fact, I thought Spirits within was originally going to be for FFVIII but i was sadly wrong. :sad3:

The next set of SQUARE ENIX titles I played was KINGDOM HEARTS I--which introduced Cloud to my sad FFfangirl world. Then I played FINAL FANTASY VII, then FINAL FANTASY X, FINAL FANTASY X-2, then KINGDOM HEARTS II, and that's all. :mokken:
 
I played my first Final Fantasy at age 14. It was Final Fantasy IX. I didn't know anything about Final Fantasy before then. I was sitting at the house watching WWF on TV when the commercial for it came on. I saw and thought it looked interesting. I got it for Christmas and have been hooked ever since. I've played that game so many times,I've lost count. (Currently playing it now using the same copy from back then. ^^ )
