How old were you when you played your first Final Fantasy?

I was 16 I think.

My best friend at the time introduced Final Fantasy X to me and I was in love straight away. <3

I didn't have a PS2 at the time, so I ended up having the game for over a month before I could actually play it at home.

Eventually I got a PS2 slim and I played it non-stop and mum got shitty with me because I was spending too much time playing the PS2 rather than doing school work.

The first FF I played was FFVII when it first came out, so that would have made me...eight. I only did the opening section, and at the time I had absolutely no idea what I was playing, but...eh.

I didn't play my first proper FF, FFVIII, until I was either thirteen or fourteen, so there was quite a big gap between the two. I grew up with a Sega Megadrive and Gameboy Colour, when I was younger the Playstation was the expensive console filled with games I couldn't afford and probably wouldn't want to play...after all, I had Pokemon Silver. xD

I was 11 when I first laid hands on Final Fantasy X-2. I enjoyed collecting PS2 magazines at the time, and one issue in particular had a preview feature of FFX-2, as well as a DVD of trailers and demos that showed the game's opening sequence. I'd never seen much CGI in video games, if any at all and I was just amazed. I was still largely new to the hardware of the PS2 at the time and I was actually convinced that the opening concert's visuals were representative of the in-game graphics.

Shockingly, it turned out that I was wrong and I was thrust into the opening battle with visuals that looked remarkably inferior. Slightly confused, I was wondering which character I was controlling (Rikku or Paine?) and why I was supposed to attack Yuna. I think I tried to get either Rikku or Paine to run up to one of the backup dancers to slaughter them (I was used to action and platform games and this was also my first go at an RPG) and to my surprise, I couldn't really do that. The battle menu came up and for half a minute or so and I just had no idea what the hell I was doing. I was just getting zapped by Thunder there! Hello!

Eventually I did get them to spam the Attack command, though I still hadn't a clue that I was supposed to use Potions when my characters' HP were running low, so I managed to die a humiliating death at the hands of some of Leblanc's goons about 5-7 minutes into the game. Goodness knows what happened after that, though I suspect I was stuck on the Mt. Gagazet level for a bit.

I was 11, my first foray into the series being IX and Tactics respectively.

Though my time with them is foggy I remember Tactics in particular being very easy to beat, though I have no recollection of what exactly I did to make it so. I only remember Ramza having blade grab and doublehand...:monster:

I think I was about seven or eight - playing VIII, my first FF. Never completed it until later on; but I fell in love with the series almost immediately. :)

I was around 7 when i first played FFX. I still remember fighting through Zanarkand in the basement with surround sound. Still one of my favorite memories ever.

My first final fantasy game was FF7 and Final Fantasy Legends. At the time a friend had introduced me to final fantasy 7 and I was in awe. Coincedentely as everyone knows final fantasy is either a game you love or hate and I loved it. Going around the world map and being able to issue commands to members was inspiring to me. At the time though Super Mario RPG was my first turn based rpg game and playing Legends was inspiring to me as well.

My first Final Fantasy game was technically FF9, as it was the first one I played completely through. But my sister introduced me to Final Fantasy 7.

I was 11 when I was first introduced to Final Fantasy, I had rented FFX from block buster and played it at my sister's, my brother-in-law had played VII and said it was a really good series and since then I've been into Final Fantasy, I own VII, X, X-2, XII, and XIII and when it comes out i'll own XIII-2 as I've pre ordered it.

I bought FFIX when it came out so I was about 9-10, after completing it my friend gave me VII to play, I didn't really like the idea of playing an older game... But now its ten years later and I have played and completed most final fantasy games and i'm still playing them. I only hope XII is available on the PS store in the future because I have never played it and I no longer have a PS2.

The year was 2005. I was 15. I asked my mum to borrow me a game from the vidya store. She brought back FFX. I rehired it a few times but I couldn't get past Seymour Flux. I didn't properly finish it until a few years later. I only really got into FF when I bought FFVI a year later for $2.

not very long ago i think o_O
i think it was 2007 or 2008 i think...when i was 12 or 13 years old ;p
my first FF game was FF advanced tactics

Let's see...I got into it when I saw an advert for X-2 on the tv, I bought X and was hooked, worked my through all the PS1 games (except VI) after that. Wikipedia says X-2 was released in 2004 so I'd been about 11 :)

Xx..xX

I was only 6 years old when I played my first FF. It was actually FFVI and I got it as a bday gift along with a Super Nintendo! ^-^ Oh the hours I spent trying (and dying!) to complete that game. Haha, I remember my best friend would actually prefer to watch me play it instead of trying it herself. x3 -sigh- tender childhood memories~

I was around 8 - 9 when I first played Final Fantasy VII at a friends house. He couldn't get out of the reactor at the beginning of the game (he'd been trying for days) because he didn't realise there was a run function and he'd been walking around the entire place getting into random encounters! I asked to have a go and figured out you needed to hold down X to run. We were both excited at progressing with the story so I begged my mum to get me a copy of it and the rest....is history

...I've forgotten if I've replied to this. Anywho: My first FF game, apart from Final Fantasy Legends III for the GB was Final Fantasy Mystic Quest on the SNES. I remember playing the hell out of that game. After FFMQ and FFL3 I got FFVIII and that was all she wrote~

Oh, and I was about 10 or 11? I think.
