I shop at Ebay!

Don't you have to pay ebay like a certain percentage of earnings you make or something?

Hrmm, question for all of you: what types of sellers do you typically avoid? I usually try to avoid anyone who uses stock photos, doesn't list shipping cost, or any seller based in China.

Its a bitch when you have to pay Ebay and also PayPal. Specially if your item doesnt sell that well or not at all!

I've bought:

FF Figurines
DVD's
Heroclix
Digital Camera and Printer
FF Swords
FF Lighter

Ive sold:

Outdoor sockets
Outdoor RCD's

I haven't sold anything on Ebay, mostly because I like to keep everything, and if I don't want it I usually just end up giving it away. Plus I don't have anything worth selling on Ebay. Though I know some people who actually make a living buying and selling on ebay

That would be an awesome living, accumulate crap then sit on your ass in front of the comp all day selling it. Sadly I have nothing I want to sell, nor do I feel like paying ebay (and paypal too, apparently...).

I need to buy the FF9 OST, I loaned it to my idiot dad a while back and he loved the thing but he lost it and denies it, he says he gave it back to me and I lost it. But I don't see any good deals on ebay at the moment... T_T

I bought FFVI advance from Ebay 6 months before it got released in england ^_^

My parents are uber paranoid about internet buying <_< so i haven't bought anything else ;_;

I'm actually really paranoid about Internet buying, and I only buy something online if I can't find it at the stores. I'm always worried that I'm not going to get what I'm asking for, or I'm going to get ripped off in some way, or someone is going to get a hold of my account. But I try to protect myself as best as I can.

I was thinking of buying an empty metal keg for my boyfriend, because it's cheaper to fill them up than it is to rent them, but I have no idea how they deliver something like that

I always have that slight fear that I'm going to be ripped off, but I've bought close to 70 things off of ebay and after all that have only been ripped off once for a $6.00 pair of metal retractable DS stylus's :P

I'm picky as hell, which is probably why I've been ripped off so rarely. Here's what I do:

I never buy from anyone on ebay who has just started out. If they've only sold 1 item or it is their first, I just steer clear of them.

I never buy from anyone who has under a 97% approval rating. EVER.

If there are no pictures at all, or as you said, they use stock pictures, I avoid them as well. I even avoid sellers who have too many typos. Seriously, even if everything else looks okay or legit, if every other word is misspelled, I get the hell away (unless English is not their first language is the only exception).

And i've bought things from Canada, Hong Kong (watch for Hong Kong though. Sometimes the prices are ridiculous and it's know for bootlegging, but if you know how to look or get accustomed to looking at things sellers from HK has to offer, you can actually find some sweet ass bargains surprisingly for legitimate items), Japan & Singapore, and all have been fine.

The DS stylus's that I never received were from an American seller xD

E-bay

Do you use it much or even at all?

I swear I'm addicted, but I always seem to get outbid on things because I like totally forget, I have a bid that's ending soon actually....I must remember to check up on that.....

I 've bought everything from clothes to computer games. The fancy dress stuff is amazing. Much better than high street shops anyway. I've only had one dodgy experience so far but that's not put me off

I do actually enjoy shopping but bugger me, Iv been oput the past 2 days and bought NOTHING. Im going into Manchester today and if I come back empty handed I think I will just live off e-bay -__-

I absolutely love ebay! You can find rare items/deals there that you wouldn't normally find in your local stores, so it's very convenient for me despite waiting a few days to a week for your items. (That's usually the hard part there for me - waiting. :wacky:) I just bought my UMD case from ebay and it arrived yesterday. xD

Ah oops, I normally check for duplicates but I was feeling lazy and hungover :wacky:

I totally just won a pair of leather trousers for 2:99 BARGAIN? Oh yes I think so

I also got Revenat Wings before it was realesed over here for 12 whole pounds aswel, I love e-bay. If it was a man Id so marry it <3

I have like a full leather outfit now for less than 20 quid :gasp:

I'm not big on Ebay. I don't really trust sellers...even if they have positive feedback. I've bought some random crap off it, though.

A Thor action figure a few years ago. He came with like...10 hammers. That's hardcore right there. Awesome.

Some other random Marvel action figures. I went through an action figure phase. I should find those.

Gyaaaaaaaah!! You won them!? Woohoo! :wacky: Now I know what I have in mind xD

Anyway, I love eBay. I love going there and finding stuff that you can't get anywhere else. I collect anime figures from my favorite anime and video games and stuff you can't find here, you're sure to find on ebay. I also find clothes on there that I can never find here anymore either. I also just recently won my first black miniskirt off of there! Hooray for me! It should actually be here today according to the shipping tracking ^_^ You can find some awesome stuff on there for REALLY decent prices.

And yay for your UMD case, Suki! You finally get to play Crisis Core!

edited to add: Nice new username there, VoN ;P

Yeah, I didn't totally think the wrong thing about that. At all.

I'm not really much of an online shopper, mostly because my bank doesn't let me for some reason. It's probably a good thing really, because I can see me easily buying a lot in no time at all. I'm not all that bothered though, since if there's anything I desperately want then my parents usually let me use their card providing I pay them back. I think the most I've ever bought were Paramore tickets.

Yeah I know what you mean, but sometimes you just gotta take that chance. :D I've been buying stuff from ebay for the past 3 or 4 years now, and so far, only one person has ever done me wrong. She was from Canada and didn't give me my Mulan 2 DVD. She explained that there was some shipment problem and was late on shipping the items to the buyers, but months later, nada. I reported her and all, but that didn't give me my item or money back. Her account was eventually deleted (but I believe she deleted it herself).

Other than that, I've bought countless stuff from ebay and it's been really good. Sure I had to return a few items back because one of the used Grandia II game was not working (that is why I don't trust used games anymore) but the seller was ready to give a refund.

Yes indeed. xD Because of ebay, I was able to play Crisis Core last night! It sucks that Gamestop don't even have them...

I always check the user rating before I buy anything just so there is no surprises when it comes to receiving an item. I never buy something from someone with a lower rating than 95%. Newer users with not that many ratings have to be at least 99% if I'm going to buy from them.

Ah yes, there's the rating issues as well. I tend to buy from those big companies because they've sold thousands and thousands of items and still get above 95% rating. Now that's hot.

One thing I'll say though...I'm kinda bad at giving feedbacks. >.> Like, I would always forget and months later, I'll finally leave them one. Yeah, I'm ashamed of myself for that. I know feedbacks are very important to sellers...

I've never bought anything off ebay. >> I don't know why really, there are so many things I would love to buy, and I go on sometimes to search for movie posters or instruments or whatever, and find some ridiculously cheap bargains. I guess I don't fully trust it, I would end up buying an invisible robot or something. >< I heard that Catherine Zeta-Jones paid thousands for a jar of Welsh air off ebay. :wacky:

I'm not followin' yah, sir. xD

I'm looking for some sick way of interpreting it, but I can't find anything! Oh, well.

Mulan 2 made me sad. Disney sequels never have the same magic as their predecessors. She did you a favor maybe. :D

Won't bring your money back, unfortunately. But yeah, I'll admit that I haven't personally been scammed on Ebay. There are some pretty good deals and lotsa nifty stuff.

Like this Rocky shirt I found. Oh em gee. Won't get one of those at JC Penny!
