Would she have been the Perfect party member??

I mean Think about it - Shes the Best spellcaster and has one of the most powerfully defensive limit breaks in any FF game ever. If she didnt die think how much easier The likes of Emerald weapon and Ruby weapon would have been!

Or do you think that - Had she Lived - Her final limit break would have been heavily-depowered or Much Harder to Obtain??

Uh...

I don't really particularly like the "What if" scenarios in Final Fantasy too much, mainly because they weren't intended and it wouldn't matter because the script wasn't written that way. Events and story-twists happened for a reason.

But imagination is always good.

My honest opinion? If she had lived, Holy probably wouldn't have worked because she wouldn't have had the help of the dead in the Lifestream (like in MOTP) but she can talk to the planet anyway so you never know. She would have probably found out the truth about Cloud and his past, (IE: get to know the real Cloud) and the relationship between Cloud and Tifa, and she would have probably spent her last days together with her foster mother, Elmyra. Then, depending if Meteor had not destroyed the planet at the end of the game, she'd... continue on living, just like the rest of the cast. She'd probably go back to let Elmyra know that she's okay, and eventually, she'd find a guy who was right for her.

My thoughts on that.

If she didn't die, then I know a lot of bosses that would be a lot easier to beat. Namely, you, my Ruby friend. Yes, everyone's most hated pair in FFVII history, the Emerald and Ruby Weapons. I know who would end up saving my ass more times than not.

lmfao I couldn't agree more with you on that. Aerith was my White Mage. It was really disappointing to lose her Limit Breaks, etc when she died, even though I was saddened by her death. Anyway, if she hadn't died I believe that after they all saved the Planet, she and Cloud would have continued on with their relationship, Aerith would have continued caring for her flowers and she and Cloud would eventually end up together, married and make lots of Cetra babies! :w00t: lol j/k :P but anyway, I think that she and Cloud would have been together in the end if she hadn't died and I also think that her being able to speak with Planet, they still would have saved it.

To be completely honest, if Aeris had lived, I could definately see her and Cloud together as a couple. I even think they might've had the potential to be a good couple. Their friendship was something special, and they were important people to one another. Anybody with an open mind could see that. But there is one little thing that would complicate things, and that would be the love triangle. If anything, the people who have played Final Fanasy VII need to understand that love triangles are not good things. Someone always ends up hurt in the end, that's a given fact. If Aeris would have lived and she and Cloud hooked up, Tifa would be hurt in the end. If Aeris lived and Cloud and Tifa hooked up, Aeris would've been hurt in the end. Love triangles do not have a happy ending for one of the three people (for reference, just watch Tenchi Muyo, Elfen Lied, Phantom of the Opera, and many others). With that said, it's kind of pointless to say that Cloud/Aeris would not make a good couple because if Aeris had lived, Tifa would have been hurt.

It's safe to say that if Aeris had lived, many things about Final Fantasy VII would have been different. Things would have changed drastically. For one, I would have found it interesting if Aeris was able to see the videotape of her mother and father at the Snow Village. It would have definately interested her to see her parents, and would have no doubt caused her a great deal of pain to watch her father die on camera. This would have probably been similar to the scene in Cosmo Canyon, where she was very upset and would be in need of some comfort. Only this time, perhaps Cloud could offer her more then comfort, such as a hug or an embrace. Something to show that he's there for her.

Of course, I never really pictured Cloud as being an incredibly romantic character. Romance seems to be a mystery to him, and it seems to confuse him a lot from time to time. He was never very good at expressing his feelings and sometimes seems confused and unsure towards people who have feelings for him. I'll be honest when I say that I can't really picture him kissing Aeris or telling her "I love you", because Cloud is a very complex character. To say "I love you" would be too direct of him, and we know Cloud isn't very direct with his feelings or words from time to time. But perhaps if Aeris had survived and the two of them became the official couple, she probably would have helped him out of that. I'm not saying that she would completely change Cloud, but perhaps inspire him to be more open with people and tell them how he's feeling. I think this in turn would make Cloud a little more understanding and perhaps a bit more social and friendlier.

Moving on, I don't believe that everything would be a cheery piece of cake though. Along with the happiness Aeris might have brought Cloud, there would have also been a lot of complications. The Lifestream scene would have been a toughy. It would have probably made the love triangle much more complicated, and would probably make Cloud much more indecisive as to who he loved. The bright side to that would be, if Aeris had managed to make Cloud a little more open with his feelings, Cloud would have probably been able to tell Tifa just how he felt and perhaps inspire her to be more open with her feelings. As stated before, this would indeed complicate things because if Tifa confessed her feelings for Cloud, well, the love triangle would've become less interesting and much more dramatic (hey, kind of like it is now).

The end of the game would have been something interesting though. Perhaps that could have put an end to the love triangle, especially taking the Highwind scene into conscideration. Cloud and Tifa were the only two with nobody to go home to or spend time with. Aeris on the other hand, had Elmyra. Perhaps when Aeris went to spend time with Elmyra before the final battle, and then returned to spy on Cloud and Tifa with Barret and the others, she would have seen just how much Cloud and Tifa meant to each other. Since Aeris isn't a very selfish person, I'm sure she would have probably taken the backseat on that one. But if that wasn't the case, then maybe she could have probably gotten a little jealous. Maybe not on an irrational level, but to a point where it might inspire her to try and make a couple more moves on Cloud.

I know there's a lot of "what if's" in this section. But that's honestly what I think might have happened if Aeris was to survive. The story and the love triangle would have intensified and grow much more complicated, and poor Cloud would probably be more indecisive then ever when it comes to who he loves. So I have to say that it's probably better that Aeris died, and... well, stayed dead.

Lolz, insightful as ever, Rose. I can see to a degree that maybe Cloud and Aeris would have gotten together, but I think Cloud would just be too confused to know what his feelings are... *rambles* She wasn't meant to live anyway so that would just screw the story up bigtime. That's why I don't like to imagine how it would be like if she lived, because a lot of the things in FF7's story are based around Aeris's prayer to holy and when she died, and how that affected the characters afterwards. When I mean a lot of things I mean like Case of Tifa and such. where they reminisce about her. *doesn't make sense*

In life or death, Cloud and Aeris would still be a couple emotionally. If you love someone and s/he loves you back strongly, you're still an emotional couple, but that's my opinion.

If she would've lived, yea a lot of battles would've been much easier. I dunno why a man cannot love two woman? Don't get the wrong picture. I mean genuine unconditional love.

As for couples, I dunno. It seemed like there was a little love triangle going on but there was never that rivalry between Tifa and Aeris. So could it be called a love triangle? (If there was, I got to go re-play the game.) But now that I think about it, Cloud, Aeris and Tifa seemed to be similar to the three main characters of Skies of Arcadia. One guy and two girls. Both the girls like the guy but the guy seemed to be more focused on something else. The two girls don't have any rivalry. It's like both of them love the same guy yet are cool with each other. (A cat fight between Tifa and Aeris could be interesting to watch wouldn't it? Then again, who would Cloud save?)

Seriously, those three seemed to be very good friends with each other. That is until the story progressed and such. But it's still vague because I Cloud making no advances to either Aeris or Tifa nor Tifa making a go at Cloud and the same with Aeirs.

Personally, I never once did got the feeling from the game that there was a sensation of rivalry between Tifa and Aeris over Cloud. I just thought that they were more of his support or pillars because Cloud seemed very unstable or confused in FFVII and even in the Advent Children. It's hard to explain but Tifa seemed to serve more as a person Cloud would fall back on while Aeris was the leading light that led Cloud by the hands. Nurture v guidance? I dunno.

The living belong with the living. The dead belong with the dead. Even if Cloud did love Aeris as strongly as people claim, it would be an unhealthy and selfish "relationship". I highly doubt that Aeris would want Cloud to push away his family, allow himself to die, just so he could see her again. If she DID want that for him, then she would be the most selfish character in Final Fantasy VII. Why would you want someone you love to go through such sadness?

Sure. Mourn the loss for the person who died. But don't dwell on it. Move on. That's pretty much what Aeris was telling him throughout Advent Children. "Isn't it time you did the forgiving? I never blamed you, not once. You're too big to adopt, you don't have a place here." She helps keep him alive, so he can be with his family, then walks away with Zack. When they leave, Cloud smiles. He's gotten over Aeris' death, he doesn't blame himself, and he can be with his family now.

Couple emotionally? Love beyond the grave? That sounds way too farfetched. A friendship that surpasses death? Much better.

Did you all forget that in AC she was with zack? they seemed pretty happy too so i dont think she ever really liked Cloud but liked what he was and who he was like, Zack.

It would, in fact, help to defeat every enemy much easier, but as it has been said, it happened for a reason, and if it didn't, it would have had a really different story.

If she would have lived then her and Cloud would have had little Cloud and Aerith babies and there names would have been Zack and IDK what else, and they all would have lived happily ever after.....Oh, except for the whole Sephiroth and Meteor thing.

Well,I'd use Tifa and Aeris/Aerith both like:

Undead monsters: Cloud,Aeris,Vincent
Others: Cloud,Aeris/Tifa,Vincent

I heard that Aeris won't die if ya give her name: White
and be so much kind you can to her so she evades the sword

I don't know is this real,I heard

if she died or didn't i don't care!
coz she's outa frome my party and i don't need her , and Cloud have Tifa she's hotter and stronger.

Tifa being hot has nothing to do with this. Cloud and Aerith shared something that he and Tifa never did or never will. Aerith always brought out a different side in Cloud and even still continues to. I truly believe that Aerith did not die, she and Cloud would have ended up together in the end. Also, the whole thing with Zack...yes Aerith saw Zack in Cloud, but she also stated that she saw Cloud there as well. If you've read Maiden Who Travels the Planet, you would know that Aerith loved Cloud more than she ever loved Zack. She was "with" Zack in the end because they're both dead and they didn't walk away like lovers would in the end either. Aerith loves Cloud and she'll always love Cloud and if she hadn't died, they would have ended up together in the end.

If Aeris died the entire story would make even less sense than it does as standard, her death is integral to the plot and without it the game wouldn't flow anywhere near as well
