Lately, I've heard that people are saying that Crisis Core is a good game, but only for fans of the original game. But I think it really rings true. I don't think I'd have ever bought it if I didn't like Final Fantasy VII.
I think that it'd be really confusing if you played Crisis Core, then the original game, so yeah... I'm just going to go ahead and say, yes it is definitely worth getting, but only if you're a Final Fantasy VII fan.
...
or if you really like action RPGs that feature a lot of music with guitar in it.
I like action RPGs that feature music with guitar! This must be game for me
But back on topic, I do believe this game is worth getting, especially if you are a FFVII fan. So many questions are answered, and you will see scenes that make you reminesce about the original FFVII. Though there are flaws, you can easily overlook them just to continue the amazing story. Plus...its Zack! Everyone loves Zack! So, check it out. If you dont, then you are a Zack hater and Derek and I will hunt you down...
Definitely worth a shot, it's the only reason I bothered to get a PSP, and probably one of the very few PSP titles worth playing.
It is a big one for the FFVII fans, but action-wise it does have a lot to offer other people too. Just a shame that non-FFVII fans might have a hard time understanding the story (heck, even hardcore fans don't always understand what's going on )
I liked this introduction to the Action RPG genre, it's made me want to check out other titles. And yes, the Zack-ness of it is a pretty sexy bonus to an already great game
I only played a couple of FF games, and I think that game is worth it + it's the best thing to buy in the PSP since God of War, So yes definitely worth it.
Definitely worth the purchase. Fun gameplay, great music, and awesome story. The story alone is worth the purchase for FF fans but thankfully this game can also be a great introduction for new fans or people that never played FFVII (shame on them by the way .
Hell, at the 40 dollar price and at 20+ hours worth of gameplay this game has more value than most of the games availabe for the Wii, 360, and PS3.
Reasons:
1. Price- very reasonable
2. The storyline (my main reason for buying)
3. This game takes the PSP to its limits. I have other PSP games but they do not show what the PSP is capable of. CC does!! It flows seamlessly and looks great
Before I say what I have to say, I want to first point this out; for the people who have no idea what the original game is about, I wouldn't recommend that they play this amazing game first. Play FFVII first and THEN play Crisis Core because it will leave you very confused.
Now that being said, do I think this game is worth it? Hell YES I do! This game is absolutely amazing in every aspect. Let me break it down:
Storyline: Absolutely awesome. The story can not only make you laugh or smile, but it can grab at your heartstrings and make you cry. It's filled with warmth, friendship, love, angst, and tragedy all rolled into one.
Characters: Characters...wow! I absolutely LOVE Zack. I love how it sheds light on some things in the original FFVII, like Aerith and Zack's relationship! <3 (soooooo cute!) and so much more about Zack as well. There's also a nice dose of Aerith in this game for you Aerith fans out there. Angeal and Genesis are pretty awesome as well. I really loved Angeal in this game. I don't want to say too much on the characters as I don't want to give anything away.
Gameplay: Loved it. I LOVED the DMW and Zack's limit breaks based on whom ever's face showed up on the DMW, and how it was based on his emotions. I loved that the gameplay wasn't turn-based, but that you could actually control Zack. Yes, the battles are random, but that's okay. At least you aren't sitting there with your PSP in your hands, hitting buttons and waiting for the character to attack. I also loved the materia system in this game and the materia fusion! So awesome!
Music: The music really sets off the mood for each cut-scene, each boss-battle you encounter and each FMV. It really makes you feel what Zack and the other characters are feeling. They re-did Aerith's theme in a guitar style and it's so gorgeous it sends goosebumps down your spine. Really very amazing music. It was so awesome that I ordered the soundtrack.
All in all, I really have no complaints at all about this game. I loved every second of it. The voice acting was surprisingly amazing as well and just blew me away. Zack really expresses himself through his voice and his eyes in this game and it's just awesome. Aerith has a new VA that didn't make her sound like monotone robot and that really made it awesome for each Zack and Aerith scene in the game. I'd highly recommend this game for ANY FFVII fan out there.
Okay, seeing much has been said already, I'll just say this: many of my friends (who have PSPs) loved Crisis Core and would recommend it, even though many didn't even like Final Fantasy, ... I swear it's true. So, yeah, it's a good game with really good graphics (for a PSP game). Besides, all the scenes and music fit perfectly in a way that you can effectively feel what's happening in the game.
Yeah it's worth getting. especially if you have CFW and can download for free. I would say it is the best game to be release for psp so far. but the lack of a free roaming map is so disappointing! maybe the UMD's didn't have enough room?
Well, if you're a FF7 fan, you'll love this. (Especially if you're an Aerith fan.) This is basically Zack's story and how he became a hero/how he met Cloud and Aerith/etc. If you wanna see Zack's story, go ahead. If you hate Zack to the bone, don't get this game.
Just the other day on Saturday night I believe it was, I got some money for graduation. And I was telling myself that I need to buy FF CC. And so I went on gamestop.com and read some reviews(like it would make me not buy it....) And I read some reviews and looked at some pictures, heck even watched a video on the game. I got it, and I swear I stayed up atleast until 3am playing this game. My battery was fully drained and I had to recharge my PSP. This game is absolutly amazing, and I loved FFVII, but this game definetly has to rank as one of my all time favorites of all time. And it leaves no gaps of you asking yourself "Why did this happen, or What happened and why did it?" For 40 dollars, are you kidding me? You can bet any true FF fan would look at that and say "yeah i'm game for that"
Love this game, it looks amazing, sounds amazing, has smooth gameplay and I love the DMV(sorry if I got it wrong) and doesnt have a main character that sounds like a wimp like in FFX. Thank GOD........
well. that is a tough one... as earlier stated if you do like final fantasy 7, then it's probably for you since most people wanted to find out what actually happened those 7 or 10 years ago... plus the Materia fusion is really cool, and i think a lot of people would enjoy the game.
Overall, i would say yes, and plus it adds a nice collection to yourCompliation of ff7, if you have all the others.
I'd say YES!
The graphics are really good... (Considering they were said to have used the same animation style that produced AC, yes?)
And the music remains wonderful as ever. (More so for the Battle Theme), and hey!
You get to know about Zack's life in Soldier, and Sephiroth before he became the big bad guy, lols!
It really is worth of getting! But prefer for people who have played FFVII first. Like someone said before, if you don't, then you'll be confused, I think. Well I can't know for sure but I really just think so.
At first when I heard about this game, I didn't believe it would be so good game though it has good graphics and looks good. And I thought that it would change much things that I already know about FFVII, in some weird way... But, I'm a huge fan of FFVII so I just had to buy this game, and it IS better than I thought. I was afraid about the battle system at first, but it's actually pretty cool, I like it much, especially that you can dodge enemies.
One thing that I didn't like is just that it's pretty short game, First time I finished it in 17 hours and I made missions too.. But that 17 hours was lots of enjoying.
crises is worth getting excpet 4 i beat hollander had almost evry summon every materia and i hit the newgame button and i have 2 stsarrt a new profile!other then tht it rules!every1 who likes ff should have it!
Oh yes indeed. I thoroughly enjoyed this game and it really brought back a lot of memories of FFVII. It's kind of bitter-sweet for me in a way, playing this game and all that. I was really able to connect with the main character, Zack, which is a plus. The battle-system is also fun, despite its repetition.
So yeah, this game was definitely worth getting. In fact, my PSP was stolen recently and along with it was my game Crisis Core inside. I'm getting a new PSP soon, and I would definitely get Crisis Core again in the near future.
