I think this is absolutely your best piece to date.

I don't know. This sends off a creepy, pedo vibe.

Tom Badguy This is spammy, and not really constructive. If you have something to add as far as technique, tools, etc. then awesome. But general comments don't serve a purpose in terms of C&C. Please keep this in mind in the future.

Love the blending and the background. The colours work well; the left hand side in particular is nice. I think you could chop off the top to just above the character's head. :) The text stands out a little bit. White is a good colour to use, as it blends in with the top, but the font is a bit too blocky for such a soft, whispy sig! Use a font that's more rounded, and try adding some lighter shades near to the text so it blends in even better! I'd recommend moving it a little lower too. :)

I like the simplicity, but you could try and warp the sides to provide greater depth to the background. There's an effect you can use (I don't have Photoshop on this laptop) which allows you to play with the layer and push the colours around together, almost like they're made of gel or wet paint.

Again, nice and simple. The font fits with this background, but could be a little bigger perhaps? I also think the blending of the character would be better if you used blocks rather than a grungy effect. I have an example from my work...

Do you see how I've continued the block-theme around the character too? I tried blending my character (Chise) with a grunge at first, so I discovered this after numerous attempts. :)

P.S. Sorry if this sounds negative! I have a tendency to try and give tips more than praise as I always found that the most useful. >.<

Oh im fine they are good comments :D and i love the wsy that your giving me examples on how i could improve it soooo thank you for the comments :D

I haven't commented on your thread in a while.

This one I like, the smudging around Miku makes it easier to where she was blended. I'm always a big fan of smudge work. I especially love the color as well, but the text needs a little bit more work. It's just standing out too much, and takes away all the attention of the focal.

This one, I love the quality of the picture, although the render/stock doesn't seem to be blended in well, because of the huge difference in quality of the background. Overall, I love the color. My main problem is just the blending, but it's great. Need some text to finish it.

I like how you always experiment with different ways to get an appealing background. The pixel background here is great, and I love the dark shades of where her hair was blended in.

That is all for now. :3

Liked this one most out of your update.

I think it would look perfect if that papercopy effect over the bg was gone(the grainy thing over the bg). It just throws off the entire idea methinks. Maybe you could leave bits of it and lower the opacity to provide an interesting look, but as it is right now, it just doesn't work. But I love the colors you have here. A purplish-blue soft brush on linear dodge near the girl might help ease up on the graininess, and make the focus be more eye-pleasing. ^^

You've come really far LY :D Nice to see you improve so much in little time =D

I liked this one the best for the background, the others seem to I dunno swallow the person inside almost I think you need to focus on your backgrounds too :O try to make them a little unique ^_^ use a background stock and make it your own :D

thanks for all the comments guys :wacky: that image was a stock lool XD the girl wasn't a render :)

the reason the background looks a little grainy is because i added a texture filter and rubbed off the bit that was in frount of the girl.... I like to experiment with different things and see what people think :)

and the squares on this one i did by applying the image on a layer, adding a pixalate filter.. used the sharpen filter 4 times, again used a soft brush to rub out the bit in frount of the render and tada.. one awesome border XD

Ok here is my new set i made tonight... i needed a signature change soo i decided to make myself a set XD

ok soooo somebody showed me a blending techquie in the clan (i'm dreamweavers) and here is my result after going through it :)

I learnt about an amazing tool... the gradient map (i been using the gradient tool the whole time :P)

I always use gradient maps :lew: Don't think I've ever used the gradient tool successfully :gasp: Black and white gradient maps are really nice when you tweak them a bit :wacky: Yukari looks good on that background :D

I normally find that a gradient with color burn on goes very nicly with alot of my work.. I believe i have 3 gradients in that sig.. one for the background.. one set to color burn and one to soft light to make it look awesome :D to make it look better XD the background is a stock of new york city at night :wacky:

and yh that my second one with Yukari in it :wacky:

EDIT: Example Time :P

u see my current set i have of vann and penelo? well here the original image

and here is the signature

VannxPenelo.png

as you can see there quiet a color difference... that done using color gradients :)

alspo as you can see I used a stock image on that sig rather than a render... that another way u can make a signature.. use a stock then add things like gradient maps etc :D

Yeah, I think one or two of mine have been just stocks :P But it was edited so much you couldn't tell it was a stock anymore because I smudged the crap out of the rest of it :gasp:

I'm loving this one as well, don't think I could come up with something like this myself, you said you used gradient maps on this? The colour and lighting in it are awesome, and I like the background, good job on this Steve! :awesome:

Beautiful! :) Love the colours and the spattered white effects. The cityscape in the background is good too.

Yay for gradient maps. ^_^

Haha for a second there I seriously thought I was looking at my own work. I dig those kinda look - that glossy look accompanied by a shining light that comes across the tag. Probably my favorite one from you so far. Looks clean and smooth. You're doing great so far, looking forward to more work from you soon!
