I couldn't find a thread for this game, which is a damn shame, so I'm rectifying that problem right now.
Legend of Legaia was a fun little RPG for the PSone. In fact, it was one of the first RPGs I ever played. The game was made by Contrail...and this was about the only game they made.
The game's graphics are basically on par with FF Seven, and the story is fairly simple and mildly linear. In fact, I can't really think of any sidequests that you can do. There's no airship or anything like that, but you can warp between towns.
The thing that sets this game apart from others, to me, is its unique battle system and its overall difficulty. The system is a traditional turn-based system, but your attack are input as combos (made of combinations of the four D-pad direction). Particular combinations produce what are called "Arts" that cause extra damage, but cost AP to use. Magic attack are basically a one-time summoning of particular creatures that you "capture" through your travels.
Did anyone else play this game? What did you think of it? If you didn't...you should at least give it a try.
