Let's Play Final Fantasy 7! (???)

The steal materia comes very handy when it comes to steal the good equipments and items. You don't want to miss out those important equipments early in the game like the Hard Edge, Striking Staff and others valuable items. Also you can steal the accessory Carbon Bangle from those robots in Shinra Building which is a plus do to its awesome stats buffs and materia slots. Keep that in mind to steal from bosses and regular monsters to improve your characters with those items you steal from them. This is my personal tip from me to you.

Yep, this is the first time I've seen how good steal can be in this game. I did a load of research about that stuff before starting the LP and it's so good :lew:.

Part 20: Buggy Be Buggered

http://youtu.be/SszaLOeVsTk

Hey all, it's time for us to make the most of a bad situation and leave our buggy behind to be fixed. Soooo...time for Cosmo Canyon!

This episode gives us so much insight into Red as a character and introduces a major NPC: Bugenhagen. This guy is real old but real wise. He knows all about the planet and everything that's wrong with it.

This means that he is willing to give us a great explanation of why we need to stop Sephiroth...badly! The explanation is really quick and has loads of cinematics...wouldn't you love to have space holograms at home?

Thanks for watching! Keep an eye out for another episode today to finish up Cosmo Canyon. It'll include the dungeon and the rest :).

------------------------------------------

Part 21: Like A Soulcage

http://youtu.be/__EhDBNmXnQ

Without further ado, let's head on into the dungeon of Cosmo Canyon: Gi Cave. This place is pretty long and requires you to be a bit conservative with your MP. Just look out for spikes and those Stingers...

I guess the stingers are a bit of a miniboss. They deal huge damage and take a bit to kill. Just know that they only stay on their spider webs and you can prepare.

There are a few other things to keep an eye out for here too, such as the Death Sentence enemy skill. It just puts doom on someone, giving them 30 seconds to live (not including animations). As well as that, there's the Added Effect materia. This can be linked to a status ailment materia (such as Mystify or Poison) and either deal that status ailment with your physical attacks or protect you from it, depending on if you put it in your armour or weapon slot. If that makes any sense at all.

There's something else you should probably be warned about....

------------------------------------------

Gi Nattak (and Soul Fires) Strategy 1:

- Use an X Potion on the main guy to kill him in one. He's undead. A phoenix down may miss.

Gi Nattak (and Soul Fires) Strategy 2:

- Use cure etc on the main guy. It'll hurt him. Keep your health up too.
- Don't use fire spells...it'll heal him.
- Titan will completely miss, so don't bother with that either.
- Shiva and ice magic are your best bet. Don't bother killing the soul fires though...they aren't worth the hassle.
- The boss can steal your mp. Maybe use an ether or just try and take him down as quickly as possible.

------------------------------------------

And with that, we have an amazing little cinematic involving Red's father: Seto. Sad scene!

Yay! The buggy has been fixed! Let's head on over to the next town! It's a weird one...

Thanks for watching :). See you for the next town.

P.S. That troll face before the boss...loved it lmao :D.

Part 22: Obtaining Vincent (Tutorial)

http://youtu.be/9S161VXKLJw

Hi everyone, here comes our attempt at recruiting Vincent from the mansion in Nibelheim. Lost Number is a tricky optional boss but there's a strategy that really works in the video.

We also meet Sephiroth and he tells us where to go next: over Mt Nibel.

Thanks for watching. I may return and flesh this description out later when I'm feeling better :).

Part 23: Materia Nibbles

http://youtu.be/L8HhGXFiUKM

~A tasty treat for all the family~

Ha, let's get on with Mt Nibel huh? The encounter rate in this area is sooooo high. Took so much editing lmao. Still, here it is.

There are plenty of hidden treasures throughout, including an Elemental materia if you missed it all the way back in Shinra HQ.

Keep an eye out for the huuuuge dragon that is very reminiscent of the one from the back story with Sephiroth. You can steal Gold Bangles from these (though admittedly can buy them for 2000 gil each in the next town).

Remember to equip some Enemy Skill materia for...

------------------------------------------

Materia Keeper Strategy:

- Be prepared for huge damage with his Hell Combo attack. Heal straight after this.
- Trine can be learnt via enemy skill, so keep that on. It'll deal electrical damage against your party. Elemental linked with Bolt in your armour slot may be a good idea to protect against this.
- The big guy can use Cure 2 and heal himself by 1000 HP. If this happens...keep on truckin'!
- Otherwise, heal and limit...as always.

-------------------------------------------

With that, make sure to pick up the Counter Attack materia that he leaves behind. The more you level up the materia, the more often you will physically counter attack when an enemy attacks you! :)

Thanks for watching! I'll see you next time when we grab our last party member in the next town :).

Part 24: Cid Loves Shera

http://youtu.be/Oca3159I1Zg

Hello all! It's time for us to check out Rocket Town and meet our final party member: Cid Highwind. He's a grumpy git, but he's great because of it lmao. He seems like the dragoon of the game, with his spear and jump ability.

We also get to meet his greatest enemy: Shera! Ok, maybe it's Shinra for ruining his dreams of going into outer space, but Shera seems to come a close second! She really should make that tea...

Oh yeah, something to look out for (or not really).

-------------------------------------

Palmer Strategy:

- Just...use your limits and attack.
- Heal now and again

-------------------------------------

Seriously...you can tell he'll be a wussy boss by looking at him.

Oh oh oh! We also get a new vehicle: the Tiny Bronco! It may look like a plane, but it's gonna work as a boat. SPLASH! Ha.

Thanks for watching! We'll be doing so much next time. It's gonna be another biggy :).

P.S. Grab a Time materia from the shop. Haste is a godsend in this game ;).

Part 25: Golden Sun Fun!

http://youtu.be/bR2TBimp2qE

Hey all, get ready for two huge episodes in a row! Time kinda sped right by when playing around in the Golden Saucer. Damn JRPGs are way too addictive lmao.

Anyways, first up, we head into the house we found in the last episode. Unfortunately, he sold the temple key to Dio from the Golden Saucer!

So, we head on over there via the Tiny Bronco. Looks like we're trapped though. Because of this, I thought we'd check out all the available minigames and stuff. Everything from Mog's House, to the motorbike minigame, to some wrestling.

The date can either be with Tifa or Aeris, based on who you treat better throughout the game. We've been right gits to Aeris so y'know. Some stunning stuff during all of this including the play and our view from the tour ride.

While we're trapped, a spy is revealed amongst out ranks! In other words, we're heading on over to the temple of the ancients later than the Turks. How will this impact everything???

Thanks for watching! We've made it to just outside the temple, so we'll head inside in the next huge installment of let's play FF7!

P.S. I'm gonna lower the amount of time per episode from 2 eps time and on. It's ridiculous lmao.

Part 26: Temple Of The Ancients

http://youtu.be/lE22Fo94F0U

Hey again, it's time for us to have our 2nd huge episode in a row (and I'm gonna make sure it's the last of the series). The Temple Of The Ancients is a huge place with two bosses at the end, but this time around we take on only one of them.

------------------------------------------

Red Dragon Strategy:

- Do not use fire magic. It'll heal it.
- At the same time, Ice 2 and Shiva are a good way to hit its weakness.
- Chuck haste on everyone along with barrier (MBarrier if you have it).
Heal after every red dragon breath and use your limits too. They should build up quick.

------------------------------------------

Other than that guy, we grab a few materia throughout. "Lucky Plus" is the better of the two imo, but the least useful if you're going for the ultimate weapon bosses. You don't want to miss Morph in that case. Notice how the one materia is called Luck Plus once it's in your menu? Methinks they forgot to change the name somewhere along the lines lmao.

Once you reach the clock section, there's a whole lot to do. You can grab a great weapon for Cloud, but you can't use materia with it and it'll be outdated even with its high strength soon enough. It's also pretty tough to get the nail bat, so it's up to you if you think it's worth it.

There's also the ribbon which is the best accessory in the game by far; it blocks every single status ailment for the character that has it equipped.

Thanks for watching! It looks like our Sephy has plans to destroy the world! How cliche lmao. Still, see you next time when we try to put a stop to all that by escaping with the black (evil!) materia ;)!

P.S. The loss of a Cait Sith...we'll miss you greatly :s.

Part 27: Mr Head Wall (ugh)

http://youtu.be/zXaMQqW-v6I

Welcome one and all to the end of the temple of the ancients! Yay! To finish it all off though, we need to take on the other boss of the temple...and it is by far the hardest boss so far. If you aren't leveled and well-equipped, you're gonna have issues here. I know I usually do.

------------------------------------------

Demon's Gate Strategy:

- Get haste and barrier on everyone as quickly as possible.
- This guy deals a tonne of damage even with barrier, so keep your health up. Healing Wind will be useful here.
- Limit breaks, naturally.
- Don't bother with any summons except for the bahamut summon that we grabbed last episode. None of the other summons will even scratch his mighty big surface.
- Don't bother with demi either. In fact I'd day don't both with damaging magic at all.

------------------------------------------

While he's tough, I don't think you'll forget your encounter with him in a while :D.

Other than that, there's plenty of plot going on. Sephiroth nabs the black materia after Cait Sith sacrifices himself for it (though don't worry, there's no real sacrifice). Aeris runs off to find Sephy too, so our next objective is to save her!

Finally, we head on over to Bone Village from where we wake up: Gongaga Village. Why would we wake up there...?

Thanks for watching! No more Tiny Bronco stuff, which is a relief. We need to save Aeris! ;)

Part 28: The Sleeping City

http://youtu.be/6tR36nbCs8c

Hey all, let's hunt for Aeris eh? Bone Village is pretty simple. Just chuck all the diggers up in the top left, on the higher tier. Dig where they all look. Yay, a lunar harp ha! This'll give us access to the sleeping forest.

This place is really straight forward and easy to navigate. Just don't forget that ring near the entrance and the Kjata summon materia bobbing about in the woods :D.

The city of the ancients is a little bit more complicated, but meh. It's not a tough area in general.

We've made it to the end of the city! Thanks for watching! We have so much coming next time that finishes off disc 1, including a boss and possibly the most memorable moment of any JRPG. See you there :).

Part 29: Aeris' Finest Hour

http://youtu.be/rqxfnYtouHM

Happy snow day, fellow Brits!

The perfect weather for such a sad scene. I won't go into the story side here in case there's the odd person who doesn't know what happens in the sleeping city.

----------------------------------------------

Jenova Life Strategy:

- Equip Enemy Skill for Aqualung. It's pretty darn good.
- Have a character with the water ring we found earlier. It'll make this battle impossible to lose.
- Don't use any water abilities you might have. It'll heal it.
- Limits, haste, barrier, regen etc. Support your characters.
- Heal a lot. This thing is a big hitter ;).

----------------------------------------------

With the start of disc 2 comes the rest of the sleeping city and our walk across the brand new continent! All the way to the next town in fact.

Thanks for watching! This episode has some amazing plot development while the next episode is all about my least favourite dungeon. Look forward to watching me squirm! ;)

Part 30: Snow's Alexander

http://youtu.be/RPu6vZX1z1Q

Hey all, here comes my least favourite dungeon in the game: the snowy fields. Glacier Fields? Something like that.

Before that though, we check out my favourite town in the game: Icicle Inn. The snow and music really go together amazingly, along with the snowmen and little kids and stuff. Stunning place. Make sure to buy the latest weapons here! They're a huge upgrade and will help for some tough upcoming bosses :).

'course, the Turks make no difference to anything once again, so we end up snowboarding down the mountain instead of being threatened by Elena (her biggest moment, by the way...).

Shite minigame aside, we now have a shite maze-like dungeon. We're gonna grab the optional summon Alexander though, which is amazing! Just touch the hotsprings and fight the optional miniboss: Snow (fire moves and ice reducing armour).

Thanks for watching! It's such a relief to have this part out of the way. Always dread it kinda. See you next time when we continue with our snowy adventure! :)

Part 31: The Schizo Cliffs

http://youtu.be/sRKlGbPbefs

Hey all, let's take on the last major part of the snowy areas, huh? These cliffs are one of the trickier areas to navigate because of all the different directions you can go in. Still, keep an eye out for two random encounters: a giant red spider that teaches Magic Breath (an amazing enemy skill) and malboro that teaches Bad Breath (as you'd expect).

A good rule of thumb is to wear bracelets etc that reduce ice damage. Fire spells are probably a good choice too.

Ok, there's plenty more to the dungeon, but it's all in the vid. I will mention that there's a healing spring by the save point at the top though! Good job...

----------------------------------

Schizo Strategy:

- Use fire spells against the red head. It's the weakness. At the same time, avoid using ice magic against it.
- Use ice spells against the white head, but avoid using fire magic on it.
- Due to all this, avoid using anything like Ifrit, Shiva, Ice All, Fire All, Magic Breath or Kjata. Each of these will heal at least one head.
- Use magic barrier on each character along with haste and regen.
- When each head dies, it'll have a blow out and cast Quake 3 on the party (or it looks like Quake 3). This is hugely damaging so make sure to have magic barrier up!

----------------------------------

That's a tough battle! With it done, make sure to heal at the spring and maybe fight a few of the tough blue dragons in this very area. They can drop dragon armlets for reducing fire, ice and lightning damage. Might actually be good to get these before Schizo actually...

Thanks for watching! We'll climb the last tiny cliff and see what's up with the giant crater next time! :D

Part 32: The Reunion

http://youtu.be/U7WSw-WfO4w

Maybe this reunion thing that all the tattooed things are talking about isn't quite what they wanted, huh? Death! Destruction! Tough love?

The crater is an interesting place, but maybe a bit slow. Still...just follow the crowd of black-coated guys and you'll reach the boss.

----------------------------------------

Jenova Death Strategy:

- This thing is fire-based, so avoid using fire and use water/ice.
- Equip any dragon-armlets, or anything that absorbs/negates fire.
- Stick it to her with a million limit breaks.
- Summons are always a good way to go. Except Ifrit and Kjata.
- Otherwise, just heal loads. Jenova Death deals some major damage.
- Haste/MBarrier/Regen.

----------------------------------------

Oh! Don't forget to pick up the Neo Bahamut summon materia along the way.

There's plenty of plot going on this time too (hence the long episode). In summary: Cloud finds out he's just like all those black-coated guys and goes nuts. He also gets swept away in the lifestream when they find the real Sephiroth's dead body.

Thanks for watching! We'll be checking out our new prison (of sorts) next time! :)

Part 33: Weapon's A Gas!

http://youtu.be/Gq5PeYKSX2o

Hey everyone, it's time for us to be executed by Shinra! With Tifa stuck in a gas chamber and the others only allowed to stand by and watch, we're sure to be ending the game right here, huh?

Fortunately, our first Weapon encounter occurs and saves the day! He attacks Junon Harbour and we have the most luck in the universe :D. We even have enough luck to have a bitch slap minigame with Scarlet!

Oh oh oh! We have a new vehicle too! We'll be using the Highwind (the ever so famous airship) for the rest of the game folks! There's still another vehicle soon enough, but that'll be alongside the airship kinda. The Highwind has a free inn, save point and PHS system wherever you are on the world map. Granted, you have 2 out of 3 of those on the world map anyway, but it's pretty handy.

Thanks for watching! With the first Weapon defeated (nasty head wound...), we now have to find Cloud! We'll be starting that next time.

Byeeeee :).

Part 34: Mideel And The Squeaky Wheelchair

http://youtu.be/dEENXTZAT4I

Hey all, we've found Cloud! Shame we can't use him now 'cause of certain issues. I mean, all I can say about this episode is that Tifa is staying in Mideel with Cloud to see if he recovers. Keep an eye out for the materia shop and make sure to grab some HP Plus! Some of the best stuff in the game that.

Thanks for watching! We're gonna make a start on finding the 4 huge materia next time :).

Part 35: The HUGE Train

http://youtu.be/FF-MxN4Cpk4

Hey all, it's time for us to grab our first piece of huge materia! That reactor that we skipped back at Mt Corel is our destination and there's a tonne going on there right now. Shinra are trying to take the materia via train!

Can we stop them? It's actually possible to crash the train and continue the game, but will that happen or will we save Corel town?

We also take the most powerful green damaging materia in the game: Ultima! It needs to be leveled up once to be usable...I'm hoping to show it off at some point.

Thanks for watching! We'll go for huge materia number 2 of 4 next time! :)

P.S.
How very FF8-like, am I right? ;)

Part 36: The HUGE Condor

http://youtu.be/0F0HIvrxBaA

Welcome one and all to the tower defence minigame of FF7! To get our 2nd piece of huge materia, we need to have a bit of fun back at Fort Condor!

This is simple enough so long as you take a bit of gil with you (which we sorta kinda didn't). Chuck your fighters all near the bottom and set the speed up to full with R1/R2. Keep a couple of healers behind them along with the bowmen. If you have spare cash, you may as well use some on those tristone thingies. Don't forget to defend the shed at the top a little bit...just in case. It can get rough!

Through all this, we get one of the best summons in the game: Phoenix! It deals fire damage to all enemies and revives all of your party fully...same as every other FF ;).

Thanks for watching! We'll be checking in on Cloud next time with an extra long episode. A tooooonne of plot incoming, in the same form as the Kalm story earlier in the game (for the last time!).

Part 37: Cloud's Reality

http://youtu.be/PfUk4vTwk7Q

Hey all, just a short description today 'cause it's a huge plot ep! I'll just say that we find out why Cloud is such a nut and bring him back to normal at the same time. Thank God for Tifa, huh?

Oh, there's also a bossfight against Ultima Weapon, but you only have to survive for a short amount of time. Get haste and mbarrier up quickly...cure 2 or regen too. It can deal a huge amount of damage .

Thanks for watching! We'll go after huge materia number 3 next time, now that we have our leader back! :)

Part 38: The HUGE Submarine

http://youtu.be/H3tdb0NYKBs

Hey all, here's our go at finding the 3rd piece of huge materia! Junon has an underwater reactor, you see, and this is home to the materia. Along the way, make sure to morph the Ghost Ship enemy if you want to go for one of the optional superbosses at some point. It's pretty much a requirement to beating it. Take the morphed item to Kalm and you're set.

While we're down here, we meet the turks once more, but this time they have a weapon instead of facing us themselves...

-------------------------------------

Carry Armour Strategy:

- Ramuh and Kjata are both great summons to consider, hitting this guy's weakness.
- Bolt 2 or Bolt 3 on all is also grand.
- If a character is grabbed, make sure to destroy the arm as quickly as possible.
- MBarrier is almost essential to survive Lapis Laser.
- Regen, Haste and Healing will help loads. As will limits.

-------------------------------------

Tough boss down! Before leaving the area, grab the Leviathan Scales one of the chests by the exit sub. It'll be useful for a sidequest later :).

Finally, we get a new vehicle: the submarine! The minigame is pretty simple...but we don't get any huge materia out of it. More on that in a couple of episodes time.

Thanks for watching! We'll be heading off for the last piece of huge materia next time...in space! ;)
