They are not identicle either, your stats increase when you level up, and the sphere grid is annoying if you have to go all the way around just get a certain upgrade. FFX's levelling up system consisted entirely of the sphere grid. FFXII doesn't rely on it as heavily.

Oh ok, so your saying that you lvl normally like FFVII but there is some type of sphere grid?

Yeah i think thats it. You use the license board for getting magic and power ups(?) like attack up and defense up etc.

Oh and i also heard that monsters don't drop gil anymore.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. And monsters no longer drop gil? Well, how are you supposed to earn gil then?

Looks like an interesting leveling up system but the sphere grid owns it's going to be hard to beat that.

Again let me put your minds are ease. There are two lvling systems in the game. One for your stats and one for your equipment. You kill a monster, your "party" gains EXP and LP. The people walking around on the map with you can ONLY gain EXP. EVERYONE with you gains LP so they dont need to be out killing things to gain LP. LP are Licenses Points. With the points, you use them to increase what you can use in the game. Such as the diffrent type's of armor, magic, weapons, and quickings. There are also diffrent lvls of each type. Example is Armor. There are Light Armor, Mystic Armor, and Heavy Armor. Mystic and Light go to lvl 12 and Heavy only goes to 10. There are also other armors that dont fall in a class but cost CRAP LOADS of LP to get. Like the Gunji Armor set, cost 150 LP

You ALWAYS gain 1LP per kill unliess A. its a RARE monster. B. A Boss fight. Or C. a Hunt fight.

Who ever said that you don't get Gill from killing mobs is WRONG. You gain some depending on WHAT mob you kill. Yes some do not give any, but there are some mobs that DO give Gill.

Your main source of income. Selling what the mobs drop, hunts, or getting lucky and finding it.

Meh. Well, I'm not really satisfied about the level system this time. The FFX one once much, much better and it had the best leveling system among the other series.

ok ok ok I take that back. FF X was ok...

FF X 2 was the WORST game EVER!!!

it was not!!!!! I liked it alot, all the shooting, and the prettyness, and fighting the aeons That i hate!

Also I hate the sphere grid.. so boring, and so hard to fill up. I love the new liscence board.

I'm not sure I like the license board. Let's actually consider everything here for a moment. In past Final Fantasys, each character has a certain class, right? Each character can only wear certain equipment. Each character can only use certain weapons. In past Final Fantasys, each character is their own unique type.

Now in Final Fantasy X, they introduced the Sphere Grid. I really liked this system because it allowed you to go almost anywhere with each character, but it kept you limited. For the most part, a mage was a mage, and a melee was a melee. It wasn't more than that, and you couldn't have everything. Once you got to level 99, you were done adding to them. There was a limit as it should be.

Final Fantasy XII brings in the system in which you can make all of your characters gods. What's the point of this? First of all, you have to learn absolutely everything. I can understand this for magic, but why weapons and equipment? That's just annoying. For the people who play this game just to beat it and nothing else, they'll obviously have to focus on their characters a lot more to make sure they don't waste their points. However, the people who play this game hours a day, leveling their characters just to get the best of everything; these people are going to make each and every one of their characters godly in the fact that each will have every single license open.

It just seems that Square Enix is taking Final Fantasy in the wrong direction. If not the wrong direction, a path that does not follow the previous Final Fantasys. Okay, I'm done now.

Did you play FF Tactics Advanced? The Judges and licenses/laws were pulled from that game, where sometimes a law would prevent you from attacking with a certain weapon or ability. In FFXII they just expanded that idea and created the license board. I like the idea personally, but I haven't seen "God" status for any particular character yet.
