I'd say Lindblum......Because of all the shops and all that it's a real help while playing the game..........plus I think it's a lot bigger than Alexandria,so you can chill out more places. For example it has the Lindblum Castle, the Theatre distric,Business District etc..............
Alexandria is good, but the not against Lindblum............But I would've like to of seen Alexandra more expanded...........I'm sure there was more to it, than it let the player actually access.............
It's a tough question, in my opinion. I like both cities just as much, Lindblum for the technology, and Alexandria for the medieval setting. However, because I couldn't really decide, I just used myself in reality to decide. I won't survive long without technology, so Lindblum became my choice. :\
It has nearly everything for a typical urban civilian living in Gaia. It is the most technologically advanced nation in FFIX (with its many airship projects and the fact that its ruler is called Cid) while Alexandria just feels too "stuck in the past" with its medieval and Renaissance architecture.
Lindblum has a large theatre district (while Alexandria soon has only a tiny theatre in a basement), and presumably the world's famous actors originate from Lindblum. It has a sophisticated tram system that is far more convenient than Alexandria's method of using a rowing boat to get to the castle. Lindblum has the more enchanting looking castle and I would love to stand on the roof and gaze out at the Mist Continent from up there. Lindblum would also have a far greater shopping experience and a greater abundance of jobs to offer than Alexandria.
And if we compare Lindblum to Alexandria in terms of foreign policy; one is peaceful and mainly friendly, while the other spends half the game hell-bent on conquering the world using an army of magical weapons, while unhesitant in causing atrocities. So it's pretty obvious under which state I would prefer to dwell in when it comes to this.
I like the appearance of Alexandria more, but Lindblum feels more like a proper bustling city, and as a Londoner I'll always prefer that XD - plus it has a much cooler ruler.
Damn Lindblum pwns this thread_
I unfortunately have to go with Lindblum also. It's kind of a no-brainer really, unless your'e just dull. Alexandria castle, though, is awesome.
Modernization in any medieval-type FF is refreshing_ Lindblum had a nice theme all-around.
I Love Lindblum, its an awesum city, a city built inside a fortress, whats not to like, granted Atmos does give it a working over, but its still the better of the Cities, plus Regent Cid the awesome Airship designer lives there, so whats not to like
Hmmmmm can of worms time, but a good can of worms lol. I a bit on the hard side, with Alexandria it has a more older vibe for a city, classic. However with Lindblum there is a lot more to do and more to see, plus it has both a classic yet modern feel, so i think one the whole it would have to be ........................... (drum role) ......................
LINDBLUM!!!!!!!
I'm more for Lindblum than Alexandria. I liked how Lindblum was so far along with their technology than Alexandria was, and for me it just seemed so much bigger with more to do, better shops, and a better atmosphere.
Lindblum, as it has more places to visit and more interesting people in it (IMO). However, if I were to live in the FF9 universe, I'd definitely live in Alexandria, since it seems to be more peaceful in contrast to Lindblum's busy city life.
Lindblum is better! It has a grand-er feel with better castle that actually feels luxurious unlike the one in Alexandria. Alexandria creeps me out everytime I explore it. come on... there's a
hidden monster book, the annoying steiner, fat fat mean idiotic queen, hidden gigantic eidolon (Alexander), etc
. However, walking in Lindblum castle makes me feel welcome, luxurious, safe, comfortable and home.
Apart from the castle, Lindblum has more advanced technology, with the airborne taxis and airships. Besides,
being absorbed by a gigantic vacuum eidolon is slightly better than being annihilated by the Invincible's epic attack.
But looking at the bright side, Alexandria's music after its destruction is much much much better and more beatiful than the annoying music in Lindblum. (but it's still a decent soundtrack)
Loved the different areas & meeting Cid. Loved the monster hunting mini game too PICKLES lmao XDD And I loooved the music. Maaaan I need to play FF9 again haha!
When I first played FF9 all those years ago and I saw that castle with the giant sword in the middle I was awestruck by it. It is one of the few things from FF9 that will always be engraved in my mind.
I found Lindblum to look boring and have awful music.
Well even though I agree that Lindblum's music is not all that great, I still voted for it as well A lot of my reasons have already been well said by other people, but to sum up I just really like the feel of the city, it feels kind of more steampunk and seems like it would be a more pleasant place to live under normal circumstances. I like the idea that there are separate districts, it creates the idea of there being lots of different personalities and lifestyles of people there, and I think it would make life more interesting to be able to interact with lots of different types of people. The impression I got of Alexandrians was mostly that they were a bunch of peasants just trying to get by and mind their own business, whereas Lindblum feels more alive with creativity and innovation.
Lindblum, by just a fraction. After the queen was out of the picture and garnet became queen things weren't so bad. My main reason for liking lindblum is because I remeber spending alot of time browsing and synthing before the whole monster hunt.
