LittleBigPlanet

I'm not sure if anyone has seen a video of this yet or not but it's awesome, to be sure. It's kind of a copycat of the Nintendo Mii, which isn't really suprising since Sony copies a lot from Nintendo... but like with everything they copy, they've surpassed Nintendo entirely. Anyhow, they've developed something called Game 3.0. It's this online system where you can go and create your character and build houses and make thing... and basically live as a virtual you in a big sea of everyone's virtual thems... and it's a pretty cool virtual community. Well that's all fine and everything but the real kicker is something called LittleBigPlanet, which is what I'm really interested in. You make a hacky-sack creature and interact in a cartoonish yet real world environment. It's all very cartoony... but the physicals and look to the objects in the world are very real, even though you're a hacky-sack creature. It's hard to explain but it looks absolutely amazing.

This is a demo of the creation aspects of the game... it is a must-view. Trust me. This one is a demo of the gameplay... which is fun, fast-paced, and just goofy wild. I love it.

Now if Sony stop with the constant BS about power of consoles or about how much frigging potential it has and just show us stuff like this so we can see what it can do then it'll be doing itself a world of good.

Nice sidenote is that if this was on the Wii it'll be slated as another kids game but when it's on the PS3 it's great. PS3 fanboys = hypocrites.

It's the Playstation section... not the Playstation 1 section. This is for the PS3

It's the PlayStation section meaning that it's for the PS1, 2 and 3. The guy just made an honest error since they have similar names.

Im not nitpicking but there is only one Playstation section. I got mixed up because I thought it was a PS1 game. There is no PS1, PS2 or PS3 section that I can see.

But it looks like a cute little game. Not mad on getting a PS3 though.

The reason we're not nitpicking it is because Sony usually targets a wide audience, and also this is not just a kids game. Sure, it has hacky sack creatures and thats the only real kiddy thing about it. Everything else seems very real. Plus, if you've read about the features its supposed to have, its very much targeted at people that like creating and customizing games. Not kiddy.

PS. I love Nintendo and Sony

It wasn't aimed at you sir so don't take much offense to it, but my point still stands. The Wind Waker was labeled as a kids game cause of the cel shaded graphics while those who played the game will tell you it's one of the deepest games on the console if not the era.

The cute graphics that Nintendo sometimes use is the main reason that people attack it like so why aren't those same people getting onto Sony for something similar? It's not the gameplay that is looked at, it's the graphics and I guarantee you if this was a Wii game it would be labeled as a kiddys game.

Nintendo aim for a wide audience as well, what's the point of aiming for a smaller share of the market? Just because the PS2 has a higher user base than the Gamecube doesn't mean they want or accept a smaller share.

LittleBigPlanet is one of the few upcoming PS3 games that has me interested. I'm not sure how long this game'll hold my attention for, though. Running through a series of customizable stages from point A to point B will probably grow tiring pretty quickly.

Still, it looks awesome. The physics are intense...and I love the jetpacks.

I have to agree with you on all of that, but the tiring part. To me i wont get tired since i will probally be customizing lvls to compete with friends and to test out friends lvls. Maybe when another big game comes out after LBP i will get tired :P

LBP seems like it's rubbish, but think about what you can make. A level where you scale a building to base jump off it. An underground bunker. Or a combination of both! Amazing. Any ideas for Sackboy designs?

Surely a game i will get.Tons of fun first time for PS3 after Rachet and Clank and PSN titles. It will most-likely sell good because it attracs platform fans, little kids and families and hardcore gamers who like creation and challenges.Anyway hope it will be as good as it may come :D

Well atm the have when your pre-order from GS you get the GoW sackboy design as well as the Heavenly Sword one.

Is a demo ever coming out? Or are we just waiting for the release now? I know that they were considering a demo at some point but it got pushed back.

I've been keeping my eyes open for a demo as well. The game is close to releasing, so I'm beginning to doubt that we'll have the opportunity to give it a test drive beforehand.

It's amusing that I checked a site straight after this thread and it had 'LittleBigPlanet' Beta...however, the Beta was closed for entry. D:

Anyway, sadly, I am going to be persuaded by trophies to buy this game now. It looks amazing but I've been undecided for a while now whether or not to get it...but I think I will because it has like 45+ trophies. XD

I'm just looking forward to making levels with some of my bud's.
I can see this as kinds like forge from halo 3.
When 4 people trying to make a level giggles will ensue.
