Love those two LA though admitidly I would prefer it if you could see Aerith I much prefer her over Cloud.

Still excellent work as always.

Thanks Verae, but in truth that's not Aerith. It's the character in my fanfic, Andria. She looks like Aerith ^^ It's a scene from my fic which I wanted to focus more on Cloud as I love drawing Cloud. Eventually I'll do a full one of Aerith

Really awesome drawing, even more awesome coloring, how do you color it in photoshop, whats your technique?
 
Hmmm it's kind of hard to explain but I'll do my best. I'll make a little tutorial and post it in the future when I can

1: Open your line art or sketch in Photoshop and create a new layer by going up to Layer-New Layer and name that layer Skin Color.

2: Above that layer below on your layer pallet look and see where it says Normal. Click the small arrow beside it and change Normal to Multiply

3: Chose your skin color that you plan on using and chose a few darker colors and a few lighter colors for shading and highlighting. Make a small pallet of colors beside your drawing so you can just use your eyedropper tool for color when needed

4: Use a brush set to about 50% hardness and begin coloring the skin on your Skin Color layer. Once all of the flesh is colored in, use your darker range of skin tones to begin shading the skin. Once you have all the skin shaded use your blur tool and run it over the skin to mesh the shading in with the flesh tones so that way it looks even. Once you're through with the shading, begin the highlighting. Do the same as you did with your shading and once you're through with that, use the blur tool again. (side note: Make sure you know where your light source is coming from when shading and highlighting)

5: Now, make another new layer and title it Shaded hair. Use your magic wand tool and set it 50. Make sure Use All Layers is checked and click inside of the lineart for the hair. Scroll down in your brushes and chose the first Stipple Brush which is perfect for making strands of hair and began coloring inside of the lineart on that layer with the brush after chosing your color. Make sure you pick the darkest color that while lie underneath. Next, make another layer and chose a slightly lighter color and keep doing that until you see all kinds of light, medium and dark hair strands. Once your done with that, you can use your smudge tool very slightly down the strands of hair to give them a softer look. I hope this helps some and I will try and make a Photo reference tutorial as soon as I can ^_^
 
I didnt ask for the full way of how you do it, but just breifly, but since you posted this, ill be trying this tommorow, I gotta log off now.
 
it's hard to explain something like that briefly *shrugs* Good luck. It takes quite awhile to get used to learning to color that way so don't get angry of frustrated if you can't get it to look right the first time
 
Nice job. Even with a computer, I can't color, but i guess you've seen my drawing. I actually took like half an hour just now and drew Cloud, but I need prep it up through this damn scanner first, so I'll come back in like 20 minutes and you'll see mine.:D
 
Thanks so much you guys ^_^ Here is another one I did from my fanfic. This is Andria and Cloud talking in Aerith's church. Here is the original sketch and here is the colored version done in Photoshop. I am extremely pleased with this outcome and this drawng took me all day *wipes brow* I'm bushed

I beautiful young lady, I see why I confused her with Aeriith. I like Andria's clothing in the coloured one much better then Aerith's clothing.

Excellent work on them both Mandi yet more proof of your exquisite skill and talent.
 
lol thanks you guys :P and Yeah Verae, that's Andria, the main character in my fic ^_^
 
Thanks guys lol and Kiddo, Cloud didn't kill anybody ^_^ That's Andria. She was just attacked outside of Aerith's church by creatures and he's protecting her :D
 
LOL!! Sorry :P These hands aren't for rent or sale. They're aren't just for anybody's use you know? :P lol ;)
