Most challenging FF game

that i have played it was 4.. THat game was insanely hard.. The bosses i thought were the easy part but i swear to god every random battle was a boss fight for me lol.. oh and if it was a back attack which happend often it was even harder.. I mean im all for diffcult games but that one was just more annoying then fun.. ugh get mad just thinking about it.

Even though I haven't played every Final Fantasy yet, I plan to some point in my life (hopefully) >.>

I guess i'm going to have to go with, uh, Final Fantasy XII. (out of the ones i played) Reason being is that I got stuck on a lot of parts throughout the game. Even like the so called 'easy things' Like I remember I spent so much time trying to figure out how to open this damn door thing. There was some riddle to it and all I had to do was summon. Really? -__- Maybe i'm just dumb xD.

I've had difficulty with all the FFs at some point I think, because of not being leveled up; the only exception being VII, which for some reason was easy for me :hmmm: However, putting being underleveled aside, the hardest one for me has been XII. There are a lot of serious bosses, and the sidequests like hunts, Esper finding etc. is really hard. The absence of a turn-based battle system makes it somewhat difficult to manage the characters at times, and there are some enemies that just beat the crap out of me no matter how leveled up I am, like the infamous Pharos Subterra residents that I'm constantly on about :wacky:, and also the bats in the deeper parts of the Henne Mines. Those things are vicious with an incredible tenacity :hmph:

I would say FFI because you have to level up a lot to get through the game. After that it would be FFIV(DS). I died a lot of times especially on the moon. The random encounters are tough in the Lunar Subterrane (especially the monsters-in-a-box) and I alway ran out of ethers and elixirs near the end of the game.

FFXIII, because the patience required to play it all the way through is unmeasurable.
/Martel's standard attack at FFXIII

In terms of actual challenge, I'd say FFIV on the DS...I nearly sold that the first time I played it. I didn't know where I was supposed to be going, my party members were coming and going as it pleased them and saddling me with even crapper party members, and it seemed like excessive levelling didn't really do me any favours at points.

FFX wins this in terms of sidequests, because of the Dark Aeons and the Monster Arena bosses.

...that said, FF Tactics Advance was pretty challenging at points, mostly because of those damn judges making each battle like a bloody football game or something.

Out of the ones I've played, IV, V and Tactics were really challenging. In FFIV, you often lose party members that you've leveled and they are replaced with underleveled ones. That can make certain parts of the game challenging. The final dungeon was hard as well and so was Zeromus.

I haven't finished V or Tactics but both had some pretty challenging battles. V in particular seemed to have insanely hard bosses. I never seemed to finish a boss battle with all of my characters alive. -__-

I thought that War of the lions was really hard because the random encounter enemies level up with you and I feel like I have to grind loads to get through even the early chapters :S. Also think that 1 was hard purely because I feel like I have no direction and just randomly wandering the world at the start :L

FFI is really hard xD FII is challenging, too, but FFI is the most challenging FF game I played. The world of the game is enormous and there is no information which helps you where to go next. It feels like you are lost!

I'm actually struggling a bit with FFT:WoTL - I'm not very far, and i've completed FFTA with ease but i've already failed a few missions.

From the main series they were all pretty easy for 99% of it - The only standout boss I can remember from VII was the Carry Armour.

From VIII it was Adel, for some reason.
IX I cant remember any boss being too tough.
X though had a few that took me a few tries to beat. Seymour on the mountain. That weird lady in Zanarkand :wacky: and a few more. Anima and Seymour @ Macalania too. So probably X.

I meant aren't all of them challenging? but on a serious note I'd have to say FFXIII simply because it is impossible to do boss battles or continue in the game without leveling your party members which is aggravating not to mention time consuming!! XIII is challenging in terms of the player's patience but as for actual gameplay I'd say the hardest is probably XII-Rev Wings as the battles are insanely hard throughout!
