Have you ever had a moment on final fantasy that you were just in shock happened?

I'm not talking about the kind of shock I felt when I realised how terrible XII was....(yeahhhhh)

I mean like shocked at what just happened in the story.

for example....I had no idea Aerith was gonna meet her fate in 7 and I actually couldn't believe it when I saw it.
and I was equally as shocked with the big revelation in 10...

gotta love the shock factor....Am I missing any massive scandles?

:srsly:
XII was awesome.

Anyway, putting that comment aside, I would say the revelation in VIII when you found out they were all orphans in the same orphanage was pretty freaky.

Kefka destroying the world in VI was really shocking.

Finding out about Zidane and how he was made was really shocking in IX.

That's all from the top of my head, if I have any more I'll post them.

hmmmmm for me Zidane when he found out that he wasn't human.... that was a huge shock

finding out that Yuna has to die to defect sin.. that was another shock

if I think of anymore i'll post them :awesome:

Yeah I agree with the Zidane thing....I was mostly shocked cos it was a really odd way for the story to turn...

I've just downloaded 9 on ps3 and I'm re-playing it for the first time in too long...proper excited about that bit now though I <3 the music in Terra on 9 :)

Final Fantasy 8 *Warning, may contain spoilers*

I was shocked in FF VIII during the end FMV with the scene of Laguna and he is looking at Raine's grave.

I was like WTF????? Raine is dead????????? it really pissed me off.

I also thought the part where they all found out that they grew up in the same orphanage(Selphie being the only one uber excited made me laugh my ass off!!).

Another part that also made me have a WTF moment was the part when Rinoa finds out that she is possessed by Adel and Doc. Odin wants to seal her up and Squall just goes along with the plan. I was like WTF, why don't you get over your inferiority complex and do something you depressing bastard?!?!?!?

Oh and in Final Fantasy VII when Aerith gets stabbed by Sephiroth, another WTF moment.

That revelation we discover during the fight scene between Cloud and Sephiroth.

Sephiroth: Cloud, I am your father.
Cloud: WHAT!?
Sephiroth: Just kidding.

Oh wait that didn't happen.

I'd say finding out most of the main characters in Final Fantasy VIII grew up together was pretty plot twist.

Irvine: Yeah, we grew up together. I can still remember because I haven't been equipped with GFs long enough to have my memory altered.
Squall: WTF? And you're just NOW telling us this?

And when you find out Auron is dead :O And that Yuna's cake was a lie.

^ this and

When you find out Edea is the Matron of all the party cept rinoa.

also when Seifer cuts Odin in half that was the biggest WTF ODIN NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Moment I ever saw i mean come on HE KILLED Odin No one killed odin D=

FFV: when you find out Faris is a woman....noooo I don't think anyone fell for that one.
FFII: when you find out Leon is the Dark Knight. Wait, that one was also pretty obvious.

I was quite surprised in IX to find out that Garnet had a horn once - didn't see that one coming. They did quite a good job in keeping the mystery around where her powers came from.

FFX's was quite surprising to me. That whole scene, especially with the music, got me teary eyed.

What happened to Aeris in FFVII, when I first played it. Definitely surprising.

Aeris'
and
Gabranth's
fate in FFVII and FFXII respectively. The former I simply did not see coming, after growing fond of her during the course of the game. As for
Gabranth
, I honestly expected him to be redeemed and join the party during the last stretch of the game. He is definitely one of my favourite FF characters of all time.

In Final Fantasy VIII, when you are on a mission to assassinate the Sorceress and Irvine chickens out. Very shocking.

Rydia
returning to save the party during your fight with
Golbez
underground in FFIV :gasp: That was the last thing I expected to happen (and it was awesome and made me so happy). Also,
Dyne's suicide
in VII. I was surprised that FFVII "went there" with
Aeris's death
, but
Dyne getting depressed about the state of things and jumping off a cliff
was a strikingly mature moment for the series, I thought. I mean there are plenty of other mature themes in the earlier FF games, but a lot of them were still things that a small child could normally see in something like a Dreamworks/Pixar movie and still sort of understand. Whereas
suicide
is an issue that's quite complex, I was very surprised to see it in an FF game up to that point, since I'm pretty sure I'd only seen characters
sacrifice themselves to save others up to that point, and his death didn't really serve to help anyone.

I like this moment as well.

My most shocking moment is in VII where Nanaki(Red XIII) learns that
his father wasn't a coward but the hero that sacrificed himself to save Cosmo Canyon.
Nanaki was one of my characters from the game. The part where
he howls and his father's petrified body cries
got to me way more than
Aeris getting murdered by Sephiroth.

I had my first major shock in FF13, when it looked like Sazh had killed himself (before it was revealed he hadn't actually done it).

I was so shocked I dropped the controller and text my friend, saying 'OMG! HAVE SQUEENIX JUST DONE THEIR FIRST CHARACTER SUICIDE!?!?!?'

I was really shocked when the Sector 7 pillar actually fell. I madly ran up those stairs expecting to save it.

I think Aeris' fate goes down as the biggest NOOOOOO moment. I remember putting down the controller, walking to my room, laying down and crying for the first time about a video game. But damn, it gave me motivation to finish.

Edea's sudden conversion was a big one.

"Yunie's gonna die, you know?!" Ugh.

I think the most shocked I've been while playing an FF game was in XIII when
Sazh puts his gun to his head.
I remember thinking this is a Final Fantasy game?! As if that prevented something like that happening somehow, right?
I never thought he would actually die, he'd just gotten his Eidolon and there were scenes with him in them from the trailers that I hadn't seen yet, but I was really surprised Squeenix would have a lead character even seriously consider shooting himself.
Crazy.

When Hojo turned out to be Sephiroth's dad, and Lucrecia his mother, which all connects Vincent. Like wait, what?
When Cloud went on a date with Barrett. (lol I know there were other options but why did I have to get him??)
And in FF8 when they all found out they grew up together.

Aeris's death didn't shock me, because I was convinced they would bring her back to life, because I had seen some promo picture of her with an airship and thought that part had not come yet.

A lot of the stuff in Final Fantasy Tactics is shocking.

Celes trying to kill herself.

FFIX easily had the most satisfying plot twist. When Garland and the Invincible pop up, the plot immediately flips.
:ryan:Epic.
