Most tear shedding scene in final fantasy

I can't decide between Aeris dying or Auron being sent.... altho tbh, I will cry at anything. I even cried at the end of XII and I didn't even rate that all to highly

VIII got me at the end when Laguna has his flashback - honestly Im just a soft arse

I cried all the way thru the fight with jenova after Aeris died, I wasn't really expecting it either >.<

I think it's possibly Auron being sent is what got me the most I cried for about half an hour after >.< and it didn't help that Tidus went and disappeared aswel - that just finished me off.

The death of Aeris got sadder the more I played through that part, the thing that really began to get to me was Cloud talking about all the things she would never be able to do again.

FFX with both Tidus' breakdown and his fading at the end with Yuna trying to hug him.

FFXII I felt sad for Ashe when she was at her husband's casket in the beginning.

Havent we got a similar topic? *shrugs*

Man, a lot of things got me in XII.

VII - Nope
VIII - Nope
IX - Hmm...nope
X - Nope
etc etc...

I'll keep this short and sweet - and in spoilers:

Vossler's Death
Drace's Death
Reddas sacrificing himself
Gabranths Death

Main teary moments anyway

For me, it was Aerith's death, that had made me cry for a long time.

When Yuna tried to hug Tidus, that made me feel a lot of sympathy for her, the poor girl.

Apart from that, I haven't really displayed that much emotion for any other scenes ... yet.

Nothing's ever made me tear up really, but there have been some moving moments (not Aeris' death though, as I sort of knew about it in advance anyway, one of the problems of playing a game years after its release)

FFVIII: In the ending FMV when you see
Laguna at Raine's grave and his memories of her

FFIX:
Vivi's final letter to everyone at the end

FFX:
When Yuna passes through Tidus at the end (or is it the other way round?), and when Tidus sees Braska, Jecht and Auron at the end and goes to join them

I was the same, Aeris' death was upsetting but I knew it was coming so no tears. I did really cry at the end of FFX (seeing Tidus fade away, and Yuna whistling), and Suketi Da Ne made me cry for some reason:|

Tidus' departure from Yuna at the end of FFX or the reconciliation of Jecht and Tidus after the battle of Braska's Final Aeon.

After the journey through a great game such as FFX, I hated to see the mian character just simply vanish into thin air, but it was all a part of the magnificant story. The peace that Tidus and Jecht reach at the end of the game also isa tug on teh heart strings since you witness so much of the animosity between them earlier that you can't help but feel sorry for a relationship that could have been so much better.

FFX is sad, except I never played it, so I wonder why Tidus vanishes.

You say it's sad but you've never played it? Then don't list it.

Anyway, touching moments for me:

IX: 1. The scene where
the Black Waltz blasts all the black mages off the ship

2. The ending, both Vivi's dialogue and the FMV

X: The final FMV, Jesus Christ that was sad, and it never gets better for me on replays >_<

X: The final FMV, Jesus Christ that was sad, and it never gets better for me on replays >_<

I can only finish X when Im alone because it gets me every time - I just cry my eyes out for ages. I don't think anyone has ever witnessed me complete it I daren't let anyone see me crying over a game xD

Has to be when Vivi witnesses the Black waltz 3 destroying all the black mages on board, a close second is when Garnet sees Alexandria being destroyed, putting into consideration everything she had recently lost till she was left with nothing.

As for 10 it has to be the scene where Tidus finds out about Yuna's fate, when Wakka finds out about Chappu and for some reason the aftermath of operation mii'hen.

I was always annoyed with myself that I didn't get round to playing FFX until FFX-2 had been announced and all. So when it was revealed that
Yuna would die when she summoned the Final Aeon
, it wasn't a really big bombshell as
I knew she was in the sequel and so obviously didn't die
. I expect the revelation would have been pretty good for those playing it without that knowledge at the time. It certainly throws your current journey into sharp relief.

FFIV: The end where Edward is asking Anna to watch over Telluh and his kingdom always gets to me.

Also right before you fight Zeromus and everyone who has been in your party in the past helps the current party recover from Zeromus's attack.

FFVI: Locke's final words to Rachel.

Setzer remembering Daryl

Ending FMV when you realize everything is going to be alright.

FFVII: The Ending FMV with Cloud reaching for Aeris's hand and then after where he talks about "meeting" her again.

FFVIIAC: Though I really didn't like this game, I do find the end to be quite touching.

FFVIII: Laguna's flashback where he proposes to Raine and then it shows him at her grave.

FFIX: The black mages wondering where there friends that died when.

The end where it shows what everyone is doing.

Ending when Zidane and Garnet reunite.

FFX: The ending when Yuna tells Tidus that she loves him.

FFX's overall storyline got me in places particulary the Home incident and the ending as most have mentioned. It choked me up pretty bad which not even Aeris' death could do (I was shocked but not sad).

Of course beating any FF is sad when you have to reach over to the console and reset it knowing that you can't go any further beyond that final battle.

I think Aerith's death is the top tear-jerker for me, especially when her theme plays in the backround, when you go into the battle and after when Cloud lays her in the stream.

In FFVIII when Squall realises how he really feels about Rinoa as he goes to rescue her from space and Odin's death.

I just felt for Vivi the whole way through FFIX and when Queen Brahne comes to her senses before she dies and apologises for the horrible things she did.

I really loved the FFX story all the way through, especially the bond between Tidus and Yuna becoming stronger throughout the game, it broke my heart when he vanished, the saddest love story I ever witnessed in a game, FF-X2 kind've spoiled it with its happy ending.

I don't feel anything for the FFXII characters atm, but I did feel sorry for Fran when she was told she couldn't go back to the wood. I'm beginning to grow on Balthier a bit. He seems like the only chracter with a personality so far. The others are slightly robotic.

Earlier FF's didn't have any moments that touched me in that way.

Balthier does actually have a sad story. His relationship with his father was the ban of his existence, he had to watch him
fall victim to the nethecite
and later on in the Pharos when
they have to kill him
. Also finding out that Balthier himself was once
a judge and victim to nethecite
made me really feel for him. About the only person other than Gabranthe that I actually felt sorry for, oh yeah and Fran too, just being who she is in general sometimes makes her sad.

The ending of FFVIII was kinda touching...Squall smiling and getting his girl.
In FFX the ending is very sad but also beautiful. No tears shedded about Tidus dissapearing and all but the characters got to be happy...and that is also touching....and Rikku jumping and waving her hand as Tidus fades is ....sad.:)

Well, now that I've got some things cleared up, I think I'll post. :D

FF7:
Probably when Nanaki realizes all that his father did for Cosmo Canyon, and looks up to his petrified state and howls. That part always gets me, because Red is filled with such animosity and shame over his father throughout the game, and then learns of how heroic he was, and how he died to protect the ones he loved.

FF8:
Firstly, the end of disc 1. The first time I played, I totally thought Squall died. Squall falling backwards in slow motion as Rinoa screams and extends her hand is touching.

Second, Rinoa drifting in space and Squall rescuing her got to me as well. Even though Squall was indifferent and apathetic all game, his feats during all of the space scenes hits home for me.

Also, the other moments that were mentioned previous to this post. ^ ^

FFIX:
Definitely Vivi's learning of the Black Mages and how they are manipulated and all that. His journey to find his own identity plucks those heart strings, yo. As well as Alexandria being destroyed, and the aftermath.

FFX:
Sheesh, this entire game was emotional, I loved it. From the first moments of the game when Zanarkand is crumbling around Tidus and Auron, you find yourself remarkably stunned by all that's happening, and how it's affecting Tidus emotionally.

Onto the scenes:

1) Destruction of Home. Rikku and the other Al-Bheds mourning not only all of those lost, but their position in the world was simply crazy. It speaks volumes about racism and acceptance and all that.

2) Yuna's mentality after she kills Seymour. As everyone is wading in the waters and looking to each other for support, I found myself appreciating all of the friendships made, and how they all stuck together and fought against the entire world. Basically, the group was hated from that moment on, and it was moving to see them keep fighting on just to bring another Calm.

3) Seymour's story. The tale of his childhood and his dead mother shows the troubled past of the corrupt Maester, and even gets you feeling a bit sorry for him, despite his lunacy. I definitely pitied him, and it was touching to see how he made his mother into Anima in her memory.

4) Tidus realizing he was just a dream. It was the biggest plot twist I've seen, even though I thought Tidus was an odd character just because of how he got to Spira. Even so, I never saw it coming, and Tidus' overwhelming emotions is just sad. Loved that part of the game to death, along with the To Zanarkand scene. I never get tired of hearing that song, or seeing that campfire scene.

5) I could go on forever, so this will just be the last one. Tidus' entire story with his mother and Jecht reminded me of my own childhood. When Tidus confronts his demons and fights Braska's Final Aeon, I was overwhelmingly impressed. The entirety of Spira singing the Hymn of the Fayth and just that entire ending was gorgeous.

And like everyone else has said, you have to love the part where Tidus can't hug Yuna. I almost cried there, and I don't cry, let alone over video games. When he dove into the flames, I felt as if I was losing a family member or something deep like that, and it was truly, as I always say, EPIC.

Some people don't like FFX or just say its overrated, but the sheer amount of heartwrenching events and beautifully crafted storyline twists just leaves you in awe. Easily the best game I've played, for evoking so many emotions.

FFX-2:
Even though I like this game, I kind of wish it wasn't made. It would've been best to leave the FFX storyline untouched, but it was a nice little add on for those who wanted a bit more.

The touching part in this game was probably the entire storyline between Lenne and Shuyin. Their love story is surprisingly tragic, and the 1,000 Words scene is stuck in my mind forever. Love perhaps drove Shuyin to madness, but the connections made between them and Tidus/Yuna is humbling.

Ramble over. Excessive spoiler tags used so readers can just highlight the game they've beaten, and read up on my opinion. ^^

Yeah I knew she was going to die so it weren't much of a shock to me.
I cried at the end of FF 10. My mom was like "aww what's wrong?" and I was like "Tidus NOO!!!". Lol.

yeah, Aeris' death was already overused.
I mean, EVERYONE knew this was gonna happen, so I didn't let it bother me.

I have 2, that made it for me.
The ending of FFIX, as garnet (I refuse to call her Dagger) watched the play, and Zidane threw of the cloak, and completed the sentence:
Garnet running to him.

this made me cry.

the same for FFX
As Tidus started fading, and Yuna finally said "I love you" he walked through her, and jumped.

that scene, did it for me.
I was crying like a schoolgirl (no offense to the schoolgirls)

Not really tear shedding, but yeah.

The Kingdom Hearts ending was really touching... Kairi and Sora and Simple and Clean.. argh. There's no way you can deny that.

The whole FFX ending was sad since the beginning of that FMV and the music.. until Tidus was fading... ahhh. Yuna facing more... And disappeared...

FFIX ending at the play when Zidane pulled off that cloak, it surprised me... then with Garnet so sweet yet sad. And also that really long speech that happened throughout until the end we know who it is...

I really hate it when you're so into the game and characters like you're in that world and plop, so much grief has to happennnnn!
