N o t . I n t e r e s t e d - A Cloud Strife Club

Heh... just now I had a thought that Cloud's one of those guys who wouldn't dare to get caught wearing a pink ribbon in public. That's why he still wears the sleeve :lew:

Yeah, kinda like when he had to dress like a woman, (...poor Cloud) -- I guess after that he can make anything cool, probably another factor to why he has the sleeve still, to cover up not only a pink accessory but but a bow for that matter. :yay:

Quick question:

Why do you think Cloud kept the black sleeve on his left arm in DoC despite having been cured of geostigma? Is it because he's just really that bent on wearing an asymmetrical outfit? Is it because he was too used to wearing it from before that he decided to keep it? Was it so that the developers of the game could give us a Cloud he recognize?

Sorry if this question was asked before, but I just wanted to see what you guys thought about it.

That is a great question, Alak!! :ohoho:

But I'm not really sure. :hmmm: I don't think the sleeve was ever there solely for the presence of geostigma--but rather it was a coincidence that geostigma just so happened to have develop on the same arm. So I don't think the sleeve has anything to do with geostigma on his arm and this would explain why it's still there in DoC.

Another way to explain it is, that he still has the remembrance ribbon on his arm--but that sadly has nothing backing it. :/

Hmm, now I'm curious about this. :raye:

I suppose we could always resort to the default explanation: the sleeve just looks cool :) Anyway, I was strolling through my favorites folder on DeviantART when I came across this:

http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=cloud strife&order=9&offset=192#/d2e8p3r

I apologize if it's been shared already, but it's too funny to not post. The commentary by the artist makes it even more hilarious.

Haha, I love that fanart, the artist actually does some other Cloud arts I think or maybe I am confusing them for another artist.

That pic always makes me think of how I'd love to see an older Cloud or a Cloud with some kind of stubble or facial hair, officially drawn or animated in CGI, it would be so weird but in a cool way :x3:

No idea why they kept that stupid sleeve. They probably thought it looked cooler.

I don't like it. HE HAS THE RIGHT TO BARE ARMS, DAMMIT! :shakefist:

He has nice arms..... why hide them? D:

*slaps fangirlyness out of head*

Sorry. Also,

THAT 'MANLY CLOUD' image.

OMG.

I nearly died laughing. XDDDDDDD I like the tattoo as well, that's pretty good! 'Even bigger sword'? Sweet Jesus. XD He'd break his back.

I agree, Cloud should walk around in something that shows his sexy biceps a little more. :inlove: I've always loved the idea of seeing Cloud in a loose-yet fitting t-shirt that emphasizes his perfect pecs and biceps... :cali:

Mmmm, that man would look so fine!

Amen to that sister!

*nom's some Cloud fanart*

Hmmmm, a friend and I had a neato conversation about dreams the other day. Basically, we established that the worst nightmares stem from stress in our lives and personal phobias. Which inspired this next question....

In your opinion, what would Cloud's worst dream be?

I could say that his worst nightmare would include seeing the death of his best friend, Zack.... or seeing Aerith die, over and over and over. Or I could say that his worst nightmare would, without a doubt, be a dream of himself being taken over by Sephiroth and killing all his friends.

But I say no. I don't think those would be his worst nightmare.

In my most humble opinion, I think his worst, most horrific nightmare would include one object.

A dress.

:tehe:

:tehe:

Pfft, ahahahahaha  I totally agree! :lew: I was not expecting you to say that, it was hilarious. :lew:

More serious answer though;

Hmm, greatest nightmare? This is a pretty deep question. :hmmm: Honestly though, I think-for the most part-that his worse nightmare already came true. He had people he loved and cherished killed in front of him. (his mom, Zack, Aerith). I mean, in VII, Cloud even tells Barret that he'd have nightmares if someone died--so I think the whole "watching his friends die" is definitely up there. So I agree, I think watching his friends murdered in front of him is the one thing that runs Cloud's blood cold. :C

Another thing I think would just kill him inside is if he let the darkness in him consume him completely. I think somewhere in the back of Cloud's head he's always worried to let down the ones he cares about by succumbing to the darkness in him. I think Cloud would view something like this as a failure--a failure towards the ones who loved him enough to sacrifice so much(sometimes even their lives) for him.

So yeah, I think either of those two would be his nightmare. :C

Agreed. Death would probably be prevalent in his worst nightmares, even if it involves those who are still alive. Remember in Advent Children Complete when he's driving back into town? The monsters are about to get Denzel (he imagines Zack being surrounded by soldiers) and the structure is about to fall on Tifa (he imagines Sephiroth over Aeris). Cloud's just one of those guys who fears failure, so I think his worst nightmare will definitely involve him being unable to save everyone he loves.

This... :ohshit:

Its possible listening to Justin Bieber music comes with an entirely new definition of pain and suffering.

This is the thing that would make Cloud wake up in a cold sweat, scared to the depths of his soul! :ohshit:

So I was watching random Duodecim videos for Cloud players when I came across a comment regarding Cloud himself. He's the only Final Fantasy hero who's managed to defeat the main villain single-handedly. I can't believe it never occurred to me before, but it's so true. Some people like to downplay his victory in Advent Children, but even before Cloud was turned into a superhuman fighter he still beat Sephiroth at Nibelheim. That's just incredible...

Many props to Cloud for being that awesome.

I like this design. This is the real Cloud! :ohshit:

It seems like everytime Cloud makes a new appearance in a game, he loses some of his character, dignity and sex appeal. AC tried to make Cloud into a James Bond / Austin Powers clone with gizmos and gadgets. Boo, I say. Boo. Never played KH, but it looks like they gave him a bandana and one wing? Blech.

I'm not a fan of Tetsuya Nomura, but have to admit he created true art with his original Cloud design that was boobified by the powers that be in the following sequels. :ohshit:

I thought Cloud was sexy yet manly in AC. :ahmed:

And no, they did not give him a bandana... they gave him a cape to hide the symbol of his darkness--his one wing. I thought Cloud looked most like his original character in KH--so if you like VII Cloud you'll like KH Cloud.

I personally love Cloud's first Kingdom Hearts outfit. It's like he and Vincent decided to do a fusion dance and became one person. He would've looked even cooler if they made one eye Mako-blue and the other eye Chaos-red!

How awesome is that :)

They did well with Cloud's face. :elmo:

But, what happened here?!!? :ohshit:

cloudstrifefinalfantasy.jpg

  • The flap of cloth on Cloud's leg could get caught in the wheels or snag on something causing serious bodily harm!
  • The style of Cloud's bike is completely different. The chassis is covered with paneling. The styling of the original FF7 bike is so much better. :x
  • The alloy shoulder protector / dueling sleeve is gone and replaced with a leather one. Downgrade!
  • Cloud's sword is replaced with a swiss army knife inspired gizmo that splits into multiple swords. Boo, I say. Boo.

Did I say bandana? I meant to say: poncho. :x

Anyway, I can't say I care much for the KH styling, either.

The Cloud I know would chop that wing off and feed it to Kadaj and the Sephiroth rejects for dinner. :ohshit:

and

It's designed to resemble samurai's clothing.

It's a new bike completely. It goes from being a Hardy Daytona to a bike he built from scratch named Fenrir.

It's never been leather. The part that covers his arm is cloth... unless you're talking about the shoulder pad--that is leather and it's always been leather. The one from VII was made of metal.

  • Cloud's sword is replaced with a swiss army knife inspired gizmo that splits into multiple swords. Boo, I say. Boo.
He replaced buster sword with a newer sword that was more handy for him to duel wield since he's ambidextrous. It allows Cloud to do double the damage which makes him quite manly--especially since he's lifting and swinging both 50-60 pound weapons around in both arms. :inlove:

I say yay.

What about you guys Alak Dragon Mage Psalm 14:1

:humph:

It's designed to resemble samurai's clothing.

Are you sure?

It looks like it was designed to get stuck in a motorcycle's chain or wheel area and inflict serious injury upon its wearer.

Modeled after samurai clothing? :wacky: Blech. If it doesn't serve a purpose aside from aesthetics its merely ostentatious and extraneous?

It's a new bike completely. It goes from being a Hardy Daytona to a bike he built from scratch named Fenrir.

I like the Daytona. <3

The fenrir... :wacky: Can't say I like it..

Unless Cloud plans to travel in the United States and walk through some metal detectors and avoid being groped by the TSA, I'm clueless as to why he would downgrade his awesome metal epaulet shoulder guard for a worthless leather downgrade. :(

This guy does double the damage, too! (Note: each hand wields a sword that has two blades and two blades is double to what one blade has... Amazing! Or not...)

On a serious note, I think sometimes fictional character designers come up with things they think is "super cool, bro". But, in reality, its not as cool as some ppl may think. :wacky:

Cloud's original design is by far the best, imo. :argor:
