Just curious to see who plans to buy this game,as of now, when its released and why you plan to or dont. I know theres not a ton of info on it yet but I myself plan to buy it since it goes in the line of my FF hording but if its anything similar to how the orriginal was I dont think i'll actually play it unless im desperatelly bored.
My feelings on XIII are a ton begining with I disslike.....with few redeeming qualities I can actualy find with the game.
The 2 of them being
A) Its pretty and
B) I rather found the story interesting......Just the enacting of it poorly done.

So as of now what do you think you will do in regards of purchasing said game? Based on your feelings in regards to the first?

Yup I'll buy it.....no point in completeing FFXIII if your not gonna play the sequel

Yes I was one of the people who liked FFXIII,it's probably down to three reasons . 1# "the game is set to be more darker" it reminds me of versus when people say so I'm kinda hoping it has the same sort of coolness to it. 2# the story is revolved more around the mythology....even though the gods wasn't mentioned much in the game the the fabula nova crystallis mythology isintresting. 3# the world of Pulse is amazing.....if they do have towns then it'll be the classic FF feel which I really want,so hopefully it can be like the old FF's as well.

And also even though they'll probably be rescused I'm glad there is no Vanille to start off the game with at least

I... don't think so. Seeing as I am a college student, I am poor beyond all reason. Unless this game turns out to be über awesome- I won't get it. Sorry.

I was really thinking about being open-minded and giving it a try...but I've decided that I'm not going to buy it. XIII just wasn't my favorite game...at all. ...and for many different reasons. The linearity of the original was on a whole new level for Final Fantasies, Lightning grated on me horribly, and asides from the graphics the game in my opinion, was nothing to rave about. I've been more weary of what games I spend my money on nowadays because my money is so tight, and with the last couple of Final Fantasies released...I'm going to be honest and say that a miracle would have to occur for this game to be a complete 180 from the original...especially in a production time of two years, give or take. If people are interested and liked the original then go for it...but I'm going to hold off on this one.

Well, I can't say I was too impressed with FFXIII, so I doubt I'll purchase the sequel. Money is rather tight at the moment and whilst I had the luxury to splash out on games that appealed to me in the past, I'm becoming increasingly disappointed in the general quality and lack of replayability that comes with many recent titles.

Furthermore, I'm not liking the fact that so much effort is being put into side stories and sequels to FF related games. I've always preferred each FF being a stand alone game with a unique and immersive world.

As of now, barring any unforeseen financial issues, I do plan to buy the game at debut. Although if I'm patient enough I could pick up the game at a cheaper price in a matter of months after release.

But yeah, while I wasn't aching or expecting a sequel to FFXIII, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in what the story set up is. Whatever anyone says about FFXIII's story, I think it's fair to say the story was relatively unique, which is always something worth looking out for. I don't doubt FFXIII-2 will be a tad interesting :P

Although I don't think this is a fair question for a thread. "Plan to buy"...I'm fairly certain people will still play the game, even if they don't obtain it in...conventional ways :lew:

I won't be buying the game, more so on principle than any assumptions that it'll be a bad game. I'm just too upset with FFXIII-2's existence, in general, for a few reasons:

1.) FFXIII took about 5 years to produce, and yet they're spitting out a sequel to be due in a year?!

2.) I'm anxiously awaiting FFXIII Versus, and yet they delay the game's release even further by placing resources on a sequel for FFXIII.

...Stop teasing me, Square Enix! I just want Versus! D=

Yeah, I'll buy the game, mainly because of the story and the music. I was a little disappointed in the first one, I did enjoy it, but didn't really feel like a Final Fantasy to me. I'm still wondering if they'll remix some songs from XIII or completely new songs with a composer.....

I KNOW RIGHT!!

Yes I am buying the xbox version. In fact, I really can't wait to get my hands on the game and play it. FFXIII was OK I guess, but it's not a good final fantasy game. XIII-2 can fix all the mistakes. Anyway, it has been officially stated that it's not going to be another X-2.

About composers, I really hope Nobuo Uematsu returns. Probably 1-2 remixes from the previous game, like Serah and Vanille's themes. Otherwise, I am looking forward to fresh and new soundtracks.

Pretty much this. :lew:

I know the team probably is not as divided as they were when they were making FFXIII, but...yeah, in this relatively short space of time (for them anyway), there are unlikely to be many changes. Thinking through a pessimistic mind, I think the sequel will probably be more of the same though with a moderately new storyline and some new new characters thrown in.

At the moment I don't fully know if I will buy it. Unless what I see of the game is a demonstration that it's a lot better than FFXIII and more appealing to me, I'll avoid it for the time being. At the moment however, I will not be buying it on the first week at full price. I'll be in university anyway, so I can see myself waiting for a while then buying it second hand for less than £10 or something. Buying the first one for £39.99 was a regrettable move, to say the least.

I unfortunately will buy it, only because it's an FF game. I HATED FFXIII so much but I am curious whether SE listened to their fans and fixed the many issues everyone had with the first!
If it turns out crappy again I'll just trade it in :P

I miiiiight. If they add in towns, NPCS, make it less linear, and improve character VA's, then I might. If they keep the system the same as the original FF13 then the answer will be a big nooo.

I will buy it because I want to see how the story will develop from the ending of XIII and I want to see if SE has actually listened to what the fans want and added some things that XIII was missing like towns and NPC's

I have already started to dislike this game because it delayed Versus but even though it is a sequel it deserves a chance and not be compared to XIII straight away but I was hoping that it would take a long time to make like a couple of years because I want that game to be really different from XIII and have loads of changes

I gave up on flagship Final Fantasy titles a long time ago. My Xbox is in dysfunction, i'll get my leg blown off in Vietnam before i buy a PS3, I need a better gaming PC, Mouse and speakers, guitars need new strings, I need more equipment, booze does not grow on trees, and frankly, I was not amused with the last installment of the series that I played - not to mention that I'm just tired of hearing anything Yoichi Wada has to say.

I might play it if a friend picks it up, but there will never be any room in my life to waste on a company's products that I just don't enjoy.

Definitely! I loved all of the Final Fantasy games, including FFXIII. Also, why play through FFXIII and not play the second part? True, it wasn't one of my favorite games out of the series. However, I might as well give it a chance. While I may compare it to the other games in the series, on it's own, FFXIII was a good game. :3

Uhm, I see me buying it unfortunatly considering XIII wasn't really that good of a game.
I just want then to mature some of the charecters a bit...

Since its a Final Fantasy game I'll give it a chance. I too also hope they bring towns and cities into this one so it feels more like a Final Fantasy, but yeah I just wish they'd focus on other titles as apposed to sequels.
