Pokémon: Ashes of Dreams [RP]

[OOC: Once you've bonded with your Pokemon, DO NOT LEAVE THE LAB. Don't post. Rose will give you five Pokeballs, a Pokedex and a Pokegear, and THEN we can move on proper.]

“Well, I think everyone who is going to show up has shown up. I suppose I had better get things started.” Rose patted Simon on the shoulder, winking at Jennifer, who still stood next to Robert, as she made her way forward, clambering up onto the table that held the Pokeballs, balancing precariously on it as she waved her arms, shouting to make herself heard over the crowd.

“Alright people, settle down!” she paused, waiting for the last threads of conversation to die down, smiled sheepishly as everyone stared up at her, then took a deep breath, “Well, this is quite a turnout. I wasn’t expecting so many faces, both new and old…you old ones can go home, I’m not giving you any starters no matter how much you beg me!” she laughed for a moment before continuing, “So, welcome to the world of Pokémon! Most of you already know me, but for those who don’t, my name is Rose Adams. Acting Chamption, Elite Four Member and Pokémon Professor, in that order. In any case, most of you already know that this world, the Anglia Region, is inhabited by creatures known as Pokémon.” She reached into her belt, pulling out a Pokeball of her own, and tossed it into the air, her Empoleon appearing in front of her, towering over the younger trainers. She winced inwardly. She would have called Durant in from the study, but no doubt the poor thing was huddled under the table, terrified at all the noise. She would have to console it after she was done here…they really hadn’t spent as much time together as they should have recently. Ignoring the slight discomfort that had wedged itself in the pit of her stomach, she continued;
“Some people raise Pokémon, whilst others keep them as pets. Others, such as myself, study them. In some regions people have their Pokémon compete in contests, to show off their moves. Whilst the large majority of people become Pokémon trainers, pitting their Pokémon against others in battles, all hoping for that shot to become the Pokémon League Champion. You’ve no doubt met other people’s Pokémon in the past. Now, I think it’s about time you all met yours. If you’d all move back a little way for me, things are about to get a little bit more crowded…”

She stepped down lightly off the table, recalling Empoleon as she did so, idly noticing how the atmosphere in the room suddenly got a lot less tense, “I thought we’d try something a little different this year. Traditionally, the trainer chooses their starter Pokémon. However, as you can see…there are a lot of you. I only have one of each starter, and it’d be a miracle if you all wanted something different as your first choice. So, I’m going to release the starters and let them come to you. You might think is a little unorthodox – it is – but this way, you’ll form much stronger bonds. I’ve never yet met a trainer who doesn’t want a Pokémon, but the same cannot be said in reverse. Now, it’s time to introduce them all to you.”

She rapped on the centre of each Pokeball in turn, moving to one side as each starter was released. She had explained the situation to them beforehand – although a couple hadn’t seemed particularly inclined to listen to her – and they now stood in a line, patiently awaiting her command, studying the trainers arrayed in front of them.

“Alright, then. Choose away!”

---

As his final Commander entered the room – late, unsurprisingly, but sometimes punctuality bowed before necessity, and this was one such time – Tobias said nothing, simply watching the four arrayed in front of him. Watching, and considering.

They were becoming increasingly competitive, suggesting something of an over-familiarity with one another, and with him…but then, how did one become familiar with a masked man? Either way, they seemed to elevated themselves above their positions. They were little more than internal management – figures who were simply good at organising other people. Those who had proven their worth to be slightly above that of the common foot soldier. This newfound arrogance in each of them was disconcerting, and a liability that could prove problematic in the future. Still, he would give them the opportunity to speak their minds and continue to serve him, for he was not an arrogant man: whilst others did not matter to him, they were not tools. They were stores for potential ideas, able to provide an alternate perspective. No man alive was infallible.

Tobias allowed silence to settle over the room for a long, tense minute before he broke it, his voice barely a whisper, “I believe the time has come for us to implement our plans. We have remained in the shadows long enough. I have discerned a pattern to the movements of the Legendary Dogs; Raikou, Entei and Suicune. They are swift, and not without power to call upon, but they are for you to deal with. I shall even allow you to keep your prizes; they matter little, after all. They are but stepping stones. Our ultimate goal is Ho-Oh, which I shall deal with personally. Then shall this world once again a place of worth. From the ashes shall perfection arise. Once the Legendary Dogs are captured, then shall I reveal to you the fullest extent of my plans for this world."

"Before I give you your orders, however, I shall hear your thoughts on the matters at hand. You are, after all, my Elite. No good organisation relies upon one man. Speak, Commanders. Tell me your thoughts of how to best obtain these Legendary Beasts, and of any other matters you feel are significant.”

He settled back into his chair, relaxing his posture slightly. He had not told them yet of the other, more interesting creature that had recently made itself known at Mistheld Loch. But then, they had no need to know…not yet, anyway. What happened next would depend on what they had to say regarding the matters at hand. There were, after all, four of them, and but three Legendary Dogs. Perhaps he would take one of them with him on his errand. It never hurt to have backup, after all…even if one did happen to be the strongest trainer in the region.

Thoma Bannor

The meeting began, and Thoma listened to what Tobias had to say. When it finally came time for the proverbial 'open forum', Thoma opened up his folder and slid it over to the masked man.

"According to my research, the dogs are not enough to bring Ho-oh to us. Two items are also required. One of these items is called the Clear Bell. In two weeks, it will be placed on exhibition. I already have some of my best members enlisted as legitimate guards, and I've already had a mock robbery attempted to show their skill and loyalty to the museum. Those operatives that acted as the robbers have already been released from prison by pinning the mastermind of the crime on another crime syndicate known as Team Rocket, which has been out of commission for a while, but has been known for their constant return attempts. This has also caused the police to start chasing a shadow organization. When the time comes, the bell will be in our possession, the blame pinned on this faux Team Rocket, and none of my operatives will be compromised. I am also currently gathering intel on Suicune's location, which I will be actively pursuing once the bulk of this years trainers have passed through my gym. After all, I still have my duties as a gym leader to maintain since my daughter's not old enough to cover for my absence." Thoma reported calmly

Simon and Robert Masters

It was finally time. All of the Pokemon were released from their Pokeballs, all of them standing in a line, at least for a second or so. As soon as Robert approached, a few ran up to him. A Chickorita and a Charmander. Robert knelt down to pet them both, but the two began 'arguing' with each other, trying to push each other out of the way to get Robert's sole attention. The only attention they got from him, however, was a facepalm.

"Chick!" a voice chirped. Robert looked up to see a Torchic 'lecturing' the other two in Pokespeak. This was the kind of Pokemon he wanted, one that could take charge and keep the peace if others got riled up. Robert placed his hand on Torchic's head and rubbed it gently. "Hello there. You're rather cute, aren't you?" Robert said. The Torchic turned around and gave a look of adoration her face. Torchic began rubbing against Robert's leg affectionately.

Robert chuckled as he continued to pet Torchic. "I guess that settles it. You and I are partners now." Robert spoke before he picked Torchic up in his arms and turned to look at his brother.

Simon leaned forward and took a look at the Torchic before looking over to Rose. "Isn't this the Torchic that got passed over from last year? If it is, it looks like it finally found a great trainer." Simon said before looking back at Robert. "I know you two will be great friends, and I look forward to the chance of battling you when you're strong enough." Simon said with a smile.

Shace sat back listening to what Lord Invictus had to say. He then listened to what Thomas had to say about needing more than just the dogs to get Ho-ho out.

"Whatever you say Lord Invictus I'll do" was all Shace said as he leaned back in his seat looking out the window thinking about his Arcanine. Shace looked at the other commanders thinking to himself, 'Why are they all here? What are there goals? Why do they want Ho-Ho revived?' Shace then looked at Lord Invictus again and thought to himself one last question, What is it you really want to do with Ho-Ho Tobias?

Cameron was stopped Midway through conversation by the Professor. This was it! This was the moment they had all been waiting for!
Although she lived in a world of pokemon, Cameron didn't really have much interaction with them so when Rose released her Empoleon for them all to see she gasped with joy! The creature was so big! To think that their tiny starters could eventually grow twice the size of the trainers themselves!!

After Rose gave her speech she released the starter pokemon from their pokeballs. There were so many of them but Cameron was only interested in the water pokemon.

She ran up to Squirtle, who didn't really seem to have any interest in her... the girl frowned... then Piplup but Piplup was already playing with other trainers, Mudkip didn't care about her either... Cameron Huffed why didn't any of the water pokemon want to be her friend??

Then suddenly Cameron Screamed, something was attached to her long brown locks!! "OUCHHH GET OFF GET OFF!" she cried trying to grab at whatever was now attached to her. She Swung her hair around and managed to catch the creature. "Totodile!?" she muttered, holding the pokemon in her arms while Totodile still had her hair in his mouth.
Totodile just blinked at her.

"You're Cheeky!!" she said smiling but with tears in her eyes from the pain of having the little blue guy dangling from her hair just moments before.
"Even though you pulled my hair... do you want to be my friend?"
Totodile blinked some more and munched on her hair a little before spitting it out.
"Toootooodile!!" he squarked thowing his arms in the air
Cameron laughed "Well I guess that's a yes then!!" she placed her hand on Totodile's nose and stroked it "You're really cute!!" and in an instant Cameron found her hand in the Totodiles mouth
"...T-that d-doesn't hurt....." she said, face going red.
The totodile just smiled!

Seth watched from afar, as the pokemon got released one by one, noticing one pokemon in particular giving him a re-affirming look towards him. Seth stared at the pokemon, and slowly began to smile, something he hasn't done in a long time.

Shortly after, the pokemon that were released began walking towards the trainers they wanted to be with Seth, watched as the grass type pokemon walked up to him, and pointed away from the crowd.

"You want me to follow you?" He asked the pokemon, feeling alittle relieved to be walking away from the other trainers.

The pokemon led Seth or one of the benches near the western window inside the lab, then, the pokemon nodded his head and let out a hasty cry "Snivy!!"
it cried, placing it's hand onto Seths, as if, shaking it.

"Oh! S-so your name is Snivy!" Seth replied, a gentle smile rolling his face.

Rena didn’t even look up from her back to find her PokeGear when the Pokemon were released. Her hands went frantically throughout the contents, desperate to find her mother’s gift.

After a short argument with a Chikorita about another trainer, the Charmander walked away a beaten man. He started to walk further into the crowd of trainers when he was beamed in the head by something.

“?!” Looking in the direction it had come from, Charmander spotted a trainer searching desperately through her bag. He retrieved the water bottle that assaulted him and held it between his two little hands, sauntering over to the girl of misfortune. He placed it at her feet, when he spotted something else. Laying under the table in front of Rena was her misplaced PokeGear. He wasn’t sure exactly what it is, but surely this was what she was searching for?

Charmander reached for it, and then tugged on the girl’s blue skirt. “Char?”

Rena stopped to glance at Charmander who was holding her prize. “You.. you found it!” Relief and joy overtook Rena as she reached down and snatched the Pokemon up in her arms, holding him tightly to her. Almost a little.. too tightly.

Charmander squirmed and gasped for breath. “Ch-char..”

Realizing her folly, she blushed and placed him back on the ground, securing her Poketech to her wrist. “Thank you so much, Charmander.” They shared a smile, and after a quick survey of the room, Rena realized most of everyone was paired up. “Do you.. Do you want to be my Pokemon?”

Charmander hesitated a moment before taking the hem of the girl’s skirt again and lead her off away from the crowd to a corner of the Lab. Already knowing this girl would be his partner on the journey, Charmander decided she needed a little push towards making new friends… or rather, a tug in the right direction. “W-wait, where are we going?” She asked him, stumbling to keep her skirt up.

Seth sat down on the bench, smiling as Snivy jumped on his lap. He looked around and saw that the other trainers were securing their Poketchs, So he decided to do the same. Snivy then jumped on the bench, and pointed towards one of the trainers that was slowly walking away from the crowd.

"Snivy! Where are you going? wait up!" Seth shouted, running after his newly made friend.

Stephen smiled as Rose Released her Empoleon, he had never seen one this close, it was an amazing pokemon, and by the look of it's wings, and it's posture, not only was it Extremely powerful, but it was Raised with Care and consideration, it was at this moment that Stephen knew he Definitely wanted a piplup, and hoped that Piplup wanted him.

as the Starters were released, Stephen noticed a Piplup walking over to him "you wanna be with me don't ya" The Piplup Stared at him for a moment or two, then turned it's beak up at him, folding it's wings with a quick "Pip" Stephen smiled and stood up, "Fine, if you don't want me, then I'll keep this nice comfy Dive ball for a Mudkip, or maybe that Squirtle over there" Stephen announced as he held out the Dive ball and turned his nose up at the Piplup.

Both Piplup and Stephen were proud, and so Stephen knew how to get piplup, by showing him they were the same, it was when Stephen mentioned the Dive ball that Piplup got interested and ran over to him and grabbed his leg "pipluuuuuup" he Exclaimed in a joyous tone, Stephen then crouched down "so you want to be in this Dive ball?" Stephen asked Piplup began nodding and letting out a short "lup"

Stephen smiled as he petted the Small pokemon on the head "Okay then, this Pokeball is yours, as long as your going to travel with me, I promise I'll raise you well, and keep you healthy, Together we will grow Stronger" Stephen Explained as the little Piplup looked Excited "and we won't be Pokemon and Trainer, we will be friends" Stephen added as the Piplup let out a loud "piiiiiiipplluuuuuuuup" before Stephen picked the pokemon up and placed him on his head"

as Stephen Walked over to Cameron Piplup fell from Stephen's head and grabbed onto his shoulder, Stephen helped his new Friend onto a Comfortable and Balanced stance on his shoulder before reaching Cameron "hey Cam, I see you got a Totodile, and he looks to be a cheeky little Crock" Stephen joked as he smiled.

-------------------------------------------------

Cassidy Gave Lord Invictus her full attention as he Spoke, she then thought for a moment "Sir, I heard of a company Developing a Pokeball that never Failed at catching a pokemon, I believe they are calling it the Masterball, Perhaps that would Aid us in Catching the Legendary Dogs, or Even Ho-oh with Greater ease" she announced "and sir, please Send the other three to tame the Legendary Dogs, I am not really interested in them, Although i will go and capture one if you wish Sir" She Explained

"After all, my skills in battle are at your command" She Reiterated something that Lord Invictus Undoubtedly knew already. "and sir, if i may be so bold, perhaps I could Challenge the Final Gym leader, and possibly the Elite four, to Demonstrate the Great power of not Only Team Sol's great leader, but also It's Commanders" She requested, she wanted to prove to Lord Invictus that she was a great Trainer.

Jennifer looked hopefully at the Piplup that had been released, but it had already made it's way over to another trainer. Well, that was just perfect. How was she going to become like her sister now? She was so busy looking around at the other trainers that she did notice the small creature headbutting her shinbone until one particularly forceful attack nearly knocked her over. She peered down at the Bulbasaur that was ramming her shinbone, and pushed back very slightly, sending it stumbling backwards a step, "Cut that out, it's irritating."

It snarled in anger, one vine shooting out of the bulb on it's back to strike her between the eyes. She had, however, seen the murderous look in it's eyes, and knew what was coming. She took a small step to the side, allowing the vine to shoot past.

Then, before it could be withdrawn for another attempt, she grasped it firmly with one hand, holding it in place. She looked at the Bulbasaur, which looked slightly shocked by her reaction. She held it's gaze for a few moments, then let the vine go, attempting a smile that was more like a grimace.

"Now, then. Why don't we try that again? My name is Jennifer. You're awfully strong-willed, aren't you? Would you care to come along with me on my journey?"

It growled again, a little less aggressively this time, more in agreement...at least, Jennifer hoped it was agreement. After all, it wouldn't be a very good start if the one starter that paid attention to her decided to hate her. She knelt down, extending a hand, allowing it to come up to her at it's own pace. Once she decided it was safe, she picked it up, cradling it in her arms. It growled contentedly, although the malicious glare it gave the others sent chills running through her. Perhaps she'd keep it in it's Pokeball until she could be sure it wasn't going to attack anyone. She turned to her sister, a small smile on her face, one that quickly disappeared when she saw her sister's face. Her face was unreadable as she studied the two of them...unreadable to all but Jennifer, that is.

Dad started out with Bulbasaur as well, didn't he? Oh...

---

"It is indeed. Poor thing has been here for quite a while now, I'm glad it's finally found a trainer." Rose rested a hand on Torchic's head fondly, beaming. Truth be told, it had become quite a handful recently, knowing that there were going to be new trainers arriving, and she was glad it wouldn't have to suffer the heartache of not being chosen for a second time.

Her face fell slightly as she watched her sister first fight, and then bond, with the Bulbasaur. That one had been most problematic, even more so than the Chimchar - it attacked almost anything that moved. Even Rose had taken a little damage from those vines. Jennifer's control of the situation was remarkable, though, and it appeared that Bulbasaur knew it as well. Grudging respect would quickly turn into affection, she knew. It would just take some time. Still, that Jennifer would end up with Bulbasaur at all was...surprising.

She follows in her father's footsteps. I hope she doesn't leave me, as well...

William watched as the pokémon were released from their balls one by one. He looked at each of them in turn trying to decide which would make the best partner for him, however within moments it appeared as though two of the pokémon had started arguing.

the trainer who had been looking at them had apparently decided on another pokémon entirely, and the Charmander from the two that had been arguing had already headed off to meet another trainer, leaving the Chikorita by itself in the middle of the room. William approached it slowy.

"Do you want to be my pokémon?" He asked, looking directly at it, speaking slowly and softly, so as not to scare it away.

"Chicko!!" It replied, before leaping at him, and knocking him onto his back.

"I'll take that as a yes then. So, why were you arguing with that Charmander, shall we go and say hello?"

Chikorita bowed his head slightly and looked away from his new trainer, before looking up at him and nodding.

William walked over to the trainer who Charmander had dragged into a corner of the room, away from the noisy crowd of the rest of the trainers.

"Um, hi. I'm William, I think maybe, my Chikorita wanted to say something to your pokémon, w-would that be ok?"

He waited for the girl's response, apparently she was busy looking at something that Charmander had given her, so he didn't really expect her to have heard him..

Faythe watched holding back giggles as the totodile cheekily snapped at cameron. it wasnt good to laugh but it was slightly funny that a pokemon was going to all that trouble to find a trainer. She heard a screech from somewhere overhead and turned around just in time to be knocked to the floor. A chimchar had landed on her chest and looked right into her eyes with a cheeky smile. "Hi there big guy" she said. "Would you like to travel with me?" it scurried off her chest to allow her the chance to stand up before it climbed right back up on to her and perched on the top of her hat.

She did it, she finally had a pokemon of her own. she snatched up her poketch and attached it to her arm via the captain red band sammie had given her. She turned to face her other friends, the human trainer kind. and walked within talking distance. "So you two have water type pokemon huh?" she smiled "looks like im not going to pick a fight with you guys any time soon" she said pointing to the bright red and orange fire monkey sat on her aqua blue hair. "Hes being inconspicuous, shhh we cant see him" she stage whispered and laughed at her own joke

The Totodile finally let go of camerons hand as Stephen walked closer to them. The girls slender pale hand was a little red but luckily no blood was visible.
"Yes This little guy is a trouble maker!" Cameron commented to Stephen "But I can see we're going to grow up to be the best of friends!!" She grabbed one of the Totodiles hands and made him do a cute little wave to Stephen's Piplup
"And you picked a Piplup!! He's super adorable!" She commented "Empoleon is really impressive isn't he? You're going to be so strong when you evolve!!"

Then Faythe walked over, Cameron noticed she had a little fire Monkey on her shoulder. "Whaaaa!!!" Cameron squealed "its sooo cute!!" Cameron loved cute pokemon! "He'll be a pro at hide and seek" the brunette winked as she bent down and placed Totodile on the floor, kneeling besides him.
"I really want to give you a nickname... if thats ok, I want you to be original... my very own special Totodile."
Totodile just blinked
"I'll call you Reggie, after someone very special to me!" She was refering to her grandmother.
Totodile Squarked with joy and leapt into her arms.
"So, I wonder when we get to leave?" She asked the others.

As Orion watched all the others, a Cyndaquil caught his eye. He apparently caught it's eye, as well, as it dashed toward him and jumped at his chest, tackling him (literally). Orion let out a laugh as he hit the floor, the little pokemon emitting happy squeaks of it's name.

For once in a while, Orion let his expressionless mask break as he patted the cyndaquil on the head with one hand, chuckling all the while.

"I guess your coming with me, then. But there's no way I can just call you Cyndaquil... How about Fury?"

This question was answered with a happy squeak of "Cyn!" before Cyndaquil jumped at Orion's head as he sat up, making itself quite comfortable there. Thankfully, Orion had a good sense of balance.

"Guess your traveling up there, huh little bud? Alright, good to know now."

Orion stood, wandering over to his brother who had a happy smile on his face.

"Good to see that someone can break that expressionless mask of yours you call a face."
"Oh shut up"

Chuckling, Nida dodged a swipe from his little bro before dragging him over to Jennifer and Rose. Nida stopped in front of them, looking between the two.

"A Bulbasaur huh? Generally fun-loving type, though I don't normally see them that aggressive. Though, if I remember correctly, the first gym is grass, so it'll be interesting to watch that battle. That reminds me..."

Nida spun to Rose.

"You and I need to catch up. It's been a while since we saw each other."

Orion, now totally ignored by his older brother, sheepishly turned towards Jennifer and extended his hand, Fury watching the aggressive bulbasaur with cheerful yet cautious eyes. The two had grown up together, after all.

"Sorry about my brother. My name's Orion. And you must be Rose's younger sister Jennifer, right? It's nice to meet you!"

Once Rose began her speech, Sammie knew that the most exciting part of the day was about to happen. She was like a bottle of excitement that was about to pop. Rose definitely had her undivided attention. Then came the last sentence of Rose's speech: “Alright, then. Choose away!” After Sammie heard that, she was a like a Ponyta rushing out of the gate at the beginning of a race. The superhero fanatic knew that the Pokemon she chose here would be her first partner she would have on her journey to become a Pokemon Master and a hero of justice. She would have to choose wisely....

----

Squirtle looked around the room. There were humans looking around the room, observing him and the other pokemon. He did not know what they expected of him, but none of them particularly interested him. That was until he caught a glimpse of something interesting: a girl. Well, not the girl but what was on top of her head. Soon, the gears in the Squirtle's head began turning, and a mischievous grin formed on his face.

----

Sammie felt a tap on her leg. When she looked down, she saw a Squirtle standing next to her. It looked up at her with big, saucer-like eyes, and wagged its tail cutely.

"Awww..." Sammie could not help but want to pick the little, turtle Pokemon up. As she scooped it up into her arms she asked, "Hey, little guy. Do you want to be a fellow ally of justice?"

The Squirtle gave an affirmative grunt, and all was thought to be good until a flurry of bubbles flew into Sammie's face. By the time she realized what was going on and had cleared the bubbles from her eyes, the Squirtle was halfway across the room, wearing her Limited Edition Captain Red baseball cap.

"Get back here!"

Sammie made chase, and once she was within arms reach, she tried to snatch back her hat. However, there was nothing there, leading her to trip and fall. A moment later, something heavy landed on her back. She knew exactly what it was when it gave a victorious, "Squirtle!" Sammie stood up, but the Squirtle refused to get off of her back, and began riding on her shoulders.

"I...guess you're mine, then?"

"Probably." Jennifer said in response to Nida, shrugging slightly, her movement restricted by her Bulbasaur, still cradled in her arms. He noticed that he didn't linger too long - that was perhaps a good idea, given that Bulbasaur didn't seem to like anyone but her...assuming, of course, that it liked her at all.

"That's right." Jennifer said, not adding anything more as she studied the boy in front of her, a Cyndaquil on his head. Fleetingly, she wished her sister would end this and send them on their way - she didn't like being around people. She didn't want to make friends. She just wanted to be left alone, but it seemed that wasn't going to happen. She wondered if she had made a mistake, agreeing to this. Perhaps it would have been a better idea to become a researcher, she couldn't fathom how these kid's minds worked...

"It has, hasn't it?" Rose smiled wistfully as Nida turned his attention to her, "I've spent far too long cooped up in this lab. Not that the research hasn't been interesting, but it has been rather lonely at times. I should introduce you to Durant - it's probably cowering under my desk right now, though. It's somewhat shy, although it has potential. Perhaps your...ah, enthusiasm, might bring something out in it." It was equally likely that Nida would scare Durant even more, but it needed to get used to being around people.

She glanced around the room, watching the trainers bond with their Pokemon. It had been so long ago now since she and Empoleon, then a Piplup, had been through this very same thing. She'd give them a few minutes before she gave them their Pokedexes and sent them on their way.

"Very good, Commander Ao." Tobias tilted his head very slightly in the man's direction. As he had expected: prepared, well-reasoned, and perfectly executed, "I shall leave the delivery of the Clear Bell and the capture of Suicune to you, just continue as you have done. I would also like you to monitor the activities of the other Gym Leaders and, if possible, the Elite Four. They shall be our biggest obstacle in this."

He would have access to the Gym Leaders as one himself, and there was no doubt in Tobias' mind that his daughter had seen the man several times over the last few years, calling him at least monthly. He was something of an uncle to her and, in her mind, her last link to him - although why she would still want a link to him was beyond his ability to fathom. Still, Rose would be his link to the Elite Four and, as she was possibly the one trainer who could defeat him in battle - provided she had honed her skills since their last match, which he had no doubt she had - it would be good to keep an eye on her...not to mention she would need to be present for her mother's rebirth. Her, and her younger sister...

"You need not concern yourself with locating a Rainbow Wing; I have had one in my possession for some time now." Tobias said aloud, putting the problem of his daughters out of his mind, for now. He would deal with them when the time came to.

He then studied Commander Theia, saying nothing for a time. She would, of course, wish to go with him. However, everything she had just said, with the notable exception of her comment regarding the Master Ball, made him all the more inclined to assign to her a different task. He had not, after all, made her a Commander so that she could follow him around and accomplish nothing.

"Ah yes, the Master Ball. A fascinating device, to be sure, although I do not believe it to be a neccessity. I have every confidence that your skills will prove sufficient to capture the Legendary Beasts." he did not say anything regarding his own skills. If Commander Theia dared to doubt his ability, he would dismiss her here and now. "Of course, it may be useful at some point in the future. You have my permission to apprehend it - discreetly - and bring it to me, if you so wish."

"As for challenging the Elite Four...I fail to see what that would accomplish, other than to satisfy your own ego. We are an organisation, not a group of thugs who feels the need to assert their superiority over others by repeatedly pounding them into submission. Such challenges would only serve to alert those who could hinder our plans to our presence."

Tobias did not need to add that, at her current level, even with one of the Legendary Dogs at her side, it would doubtful that she would be able to defeat the eighth Gym Leader, never mind the Elite Four. Crushing pride was one thing; delivering wounds that would fester and lead to hatred was quite another, and Commander Theia was a fragile creature, quick to anger and quicker to hate. He had no desire to incur her wrath, for it would vastly reduce her usefulness.

"Commander Theia, you shall track down Raikou. I leave the method up to you, just know that I will be sorely displeased if you announce Team Sol's presence to the world before I decree. Commander Neto, I wish for you to capture Entei. Again, you may do this as you wish, although I do not wish for Team Sol's interest in the Legendary Dogs to be known. Commander Meri, it falls to you to ensure that the organisation runs smoothly in my absence, for I have urgent matters to attend to. That is all."

Stephen took note that in their group they had 1 Fire type pokemon in the form of Faythe's Chimchar, and 3 waters in the form of Cameron's totodile, Sammie's Squirtle, and his own Piplup. Stephen also looked over to the Champion of the pokemon league, he couldn't shake her Empoleon, it was an amazing pokemon. Piplup climbed off of Stephen's head and to the floor, looking down at the small penguin pokemon he smirked slightly "hope you don't think you can ride on my head as an Empoleon" he joked to the little pokemon with a wink causing piplup to smile and make a laughter sounding luplup luuuppp"

Stephen looked at Cameron, "so, looking forward to Starting our journey, we have a long road ahead, with ups and downs, Possibly even feinting pokemon" Stephen informed her, which is when he felt somthing hug his leg, and when he looked down he saw piplup looking worried about the feinting pokemon comment, he crouched down "Don't worry pip, we are going to be unstoppable" Stephen infromed the little piplup who smiled again "hey, do you like the name pip?" Stephen asked to which piplup replied with a very long luuuuuuuuuuuupppppppppppppp" causing Stephen to smile "okay then, pip it is, although we will have to change that when you Evolve" Stephen informed pip who began nodding.

Cassidy didn't like what Invictus had said, but she understood that Team Sol would be less effective if they were to show themselves to the world by taking on the Elite four. "Yes Sir, I shall Find Raikou and return with the Master ball" She announced before she stood up and left the Meeting room. Her first stop was the library to research the Legendary Dog, in the hopes that she could find a pattern in his movements or possibly a way to call him forth.

on her way, a Grunt began walked over to her "Commander, i over heard two of the Grunts saying your out of control, and they are going to try and have you removed from your post as a commander, or from Team Sol Entirely" this statement angered Cassidy, "go to these grunts, and tell them that i will Relinquish my post as a commander, If they can defeat me in a 2 pokemon Vs 2 pokemon Battle, they each use one and i shall use two of mine" she informed him. before Striding towards the training area "NOW!" she shouted back before turning the corner and entering the Elevator "Raikou can wait" She muttered to herself "I shall teach these grunt a lesson in respect before i find and capture it" she announced, clearly enraged.

as She stepped out of the Elevator she pulled out two Ultra balls, "Nidoking, Umbreon, be prepared" she announced as she threw them, and two pokemon materialized, a Nidoking, a couple of scars on it's face, and an above average size. and her Umbreon thaats coat was Darker than a normal Umbreon. Both Pokemon had a look of focus on their faces, Cassidy turned to face the elevator and crossed her arms, her Nidoking Followed suit Directly behind her, Umbreon strode forwards a little and waited in an offensive position.

Craig finally arrived back at his home, and place of work, he entered and noticed a trainer Stood awaiting him, "hello Craig, I am Franklin, and i am here to challengge you for the 7th Gym Badge" he announced, craig simply walked over to him and smiled "I will warn you no Franklin, this isn't a 4 vs 4 pokemon battle, this Gym is different to the Previous gyms before it, here we do four idividual 1 on 1 pokemon battles, in order to win the gym badge, you must have more victories under your belt than i do, if it ends in a draw, then it i decided by the ring announcer who is situated by the ring in the centre of the gym. That will be our arena" he added.

Franklin looked to the Boxing ring in the centre of the Gym "yo serious, that isn't a normal sized battle field" he announced "i don't use Normal pokemon, i use Fighting pokemon, and this gym plays to my pokemon's advantage, just as the previous gyms have. If you do not like the rules of my gym, then there is the door" Craig Explained before raising one of his enormous arms an pointed to the door.

Simon and Robert Masters

"Well then, perhaps all of use should put together a BBQ once these new trainers have been sent on their way. We all have a bit of catching up to do." Simon spoke to Rose and Nida. As he did, Gallade came out of his Pokeball and headed over to Robert.

'Uncle' Gallade, as Robert had called him in his early youth, was like another brother to Robert. Simon chuckled as Gallade began chatting with Torchic and interacting with Robert. "Looks like Gallade wants to meet the newest family member." Simon jested. However, an idea began to form in Simon's mind. It would be a way to toss his brother into the battle pool's deep end, something to get him mentally stronger. Simon knew that Robert needed to be mentally strong, especially when he would have to travel back to the place where the nightmares all began.

"Rose. After we hand out all of the gear and Pokeballs, I think it might be instructional, and even a bit entertaining, to have a mock battle. I propose a 1-on-1, you and one of your Pokemon against my brother, who will be using my Gallade." Simon suggested.

"Hi, I'm Robert." Robert introduced himself to Orion, who had walked up to him and Jen. Gallade came around shortly after and patted Robert's shoulder before chatting with Torchic. "Hey Uncle Gallade." Robert greeted his brother's Pokemon.

Robert was about to say something further when he overheard his brother's idea. He went a bit wide-eyed at the prospect. Sure, he had some mock battles against Simon before and with his sister Farah, but a public mock battle against the acting champion? Robert tried to find some words of protest, but his mind just went blank.

Rose gave Simon a startled look, then smiled, "If you like. Don't expect me to go easy on him, though - after all, it wouldn't look good if the Champion lost to a starter trainer, mock battle or not!"

"Wait, you're serious?!" Jennifer burst out, looking between the two of them in disbelief. Rose laughed aloud at her astonishment, pulling her into a one-armed hug. Her Bulbasaur growled dangerously in response, but Rose ignored it.

"Don't be such a spoilsport, Jenny. You and I had mock battles all the time when you were growing up. It sounds like fun! In fact, I know just the Pokemon to use..." she clapped her hands, fighting to make herself heard over the din, "alright, people! On the table are Pokedexes and Pokegear, one for each of you - my number is programmed into each one, by the way - and some empty Pokeballs. You can have five each, to get you started. Then you're free to go on your adventures! But, for those of you who want to stick around for a while, I'll be having a mock one-on-one with Robert here."

She turned to Jennifer then, "Will you be staying, Jenny?"

"I suppose so." Jennifer gave Robert a sideways glance, torn between irritation and jealousy, and then marched through Rose's study and into the back, sending a startled Durant scuttling into the front room. It climbed up Rose's leg, vanishing into her hair so fast that it was doubtful anyone had actually seen where it had gone to. Rose felt it's presence, quivering on her back, hidden by her hair, and sighed. Perhaps it might be an idea for Durant to get some more battle experience...although certainly not against Simon's Gallade.

Robert and Simon Masters

Robert was still dumbfounded. He had just been volunteered by his brother into fighting Rose. Gallade waved his hand back and forth in front Robert's face in order to snap him back into reality. Finally, after getting his mind back into gear, Robert looked to Simon. "Why would you suggest something like this?" Robert protested.

Simon took a Pokedex and five of his own empty luxury balls and handed them to Robert. He gave his younger brother a serious look. "Both you and I know where you're going to have to travel Robert. That Soul Dew's been keeping those nightmares away, but you're going to have to face your fears sooner or later. Think of this as a means to build up that kind of strength. You and Gallade have been best friends ever since you were old enough to crawl, that's why I want you to use Gallade in this fight. You'll be using a Pokemon that is strong enough to match hers, and you're already familiar with what moves Gallade knows. Learn from this fight, develop your own style, and don't let this battle concern winning or losing, but rather learn from the experience and grow stronger." Simon spoke calmly to Robert before heading outside.

Robert took out the Soul Dew and looked at it. He felt a sort of strength coming from it, a calmness and sense of peace filling his mind. After collecting his thoughts and putting the Soul Dew back in his pocket, he used the Pokedex to get information on his Torchic. "I see. So you're a girl, huh Torchic? Well then, how would you like me to call you Flare from now on?" Robert asked Torchic. Torchic hopped up and down, chirping happily in approval. Robert smiled. "Alright, Flare it is!" Robert spoke before looking over to Jen. "Are you alright?" Robert asked.

Orion shrugged his shoulders, then looked at his brother. Nida winked at him, before walking up to Rose as Orion turned towards Robert.

"It's nice to meet you Robert, though I think my brother has an idea for something."

Nida walked up to Rose and tapped her on the shoulder.

"Hey Rose, why don't we test these guy's teamwork? I'll let my little bro use my Dragonite, and you find someone to team up with you, or use two of your pokemon instead. See how well a two-on-two battle works. Besides, it's rare for use gym leaders and Elite Four members to practice two-on-two battles, so this'll be good way for you to remind yourself. I'll judge the match, either way."

Orion had picked up the Pokegear, Pokedex, and pokeballs from the table, but turned wide-eyed to his brother as he heard this.

"Wait, what?!"

Nida tossed the pokeball containing Dragonite to Orion, who barely caught it out of stunned surprise.

"Your gonna have to learn how to work with people, Orion. This'll be a good start: to see if you can team up with someone to take down the champion. No worries: Dragonite knows you, and will listen to you, despite your lack of badges. Don't expect that during our match for my badge though."

Nida turned towards Simon.

"And a BBQ does sound nice, once we kick all of them out of here. Though, Rose" Here Nida turned back to Rose "I don't think a mock battle in the laboratory would be a good idea, you have important stuff. May I suggest out front or back?"

OOC: Hope you don't mind! But I think a two-on-two battle with the champion would be match enough for her, and I think we all need to get experience in two-on-two battles, since normal battles will be easy enough.
