Pokémon: Ashes of Dreams [RP]

'Brief huh..' Shace thought to himself, 'Well I guess one question is all that really matters in a time like this anyways, all the others are just asking the same thing.'

Shace asked Lord Invictus "Why are you after Ho-Ho sir? There are many other Legendary pokemon around the world, Why Ho-Ho?"

Shace wondered if they had similar goals or if they were different. 'Was it right to stay with Team Sol if they are different? Even if they are the same, is it right? Too late to turn back now, too many years have been here of my life, this is where I belong, this is my dream now..'

[OOC: How much more do you guys want to drag this out? I can have Rose toy with you for a little while, but she IS the Champion, so really it shouldn't take THAT long. Maybe you could break through her little fog barrier trick before she finishes you off? xD]

"Empoleon, use Mist!"

The howl of the blizzard ceased, and a white mist exuded from Empoleon in it's place, obscuring the battlefield entirely as lightning struck the ground where Empoleon had been but moments before. From Dragonite's vantage point, the entire battlefield would be completely opaque, and it wouldn't be able to clear it just by flapping it's wings, either. In the meantime, Rose decided she'd see how well the boys coped under the pressure, before she put an end to this.

"Scizor, use Double Team!"

She heard Scizor break away from Gallade, although she could not see any copies appear in the fog; it was too thick. However, she knew that Gallade would be seeing plenty of murky outlines right now.

"Think about what you're doing. You need to act in unison, with both each other and your Pokemon! It's no good simply calling out attacks that will do a lot of damage and hoping they'll hit. Think outside the box." she called out, her voice echoing strangely due to the fog.

---

"A strange question, Commander Meri. Are you not aware of the power that Ho-oh posesses? Perhaps not. You are rather young, after all, and such legends are the forte of the elder generation. Very well, I shall enlighten you.

Ho-oh, the legendary phoenix. Centuries past, it bathed this land, stricken by war, in it's sacred flames, reviving the fallen and restoring harmony to the land. Look about you, Commander Meri. The world is in a state of decay. Perhaps not quite so dramatic as the wars of the past, but equally as devastating for all it's slowness. It is my hope to bring about a second cleansing, if you will. We shall call down Ho-oh, bathe this land in it's Sacred Fire, and remake the world anew. There shall be no more famine, no more war. No more pollution."

He did not, of course, mention Lisa. Of course, he would do all that he claimed. But first and foremost in his mind was his wife's rebirth. He would remake the world for her afterwards, if she desired it.

Shace looked at Lord Invictus wondering if that was the whole truth, but knew better than to push him.
"Thank you Lord Invictus, I will take care of things in your absence," Shace bowed down towards him, "I will take my leave now, and I hope that your trip is a good one and I will see you soon."

Shace headed down to the locker room and got out of his Team Sol uniform, except kept the bandana with the logo on his head. He then headed outside and whistled for Arcinine, who ran towards Shace the second shace whistled.

"Thats a good boy!" Shace said to Arcinine, as Shace got on his back and they started heading out of town, towards route three.

Shace let Arcinine just walk for a while while Shace thought about what Lord Invictus said, 'theres no way thats all our lord is after, that can't be it, but if the rumors are true and Ho-Ho can really revive everything then...' Shace quickly put the thought out of his mind and looked down at Arcinine and smiled as he pet him.

"Lets head towards route one what do you say boy?" Arcinine howled and started sprinting. They went right through route three and two, didn't even stop in Portside city.
They stopped about in the middle of route one near the ocean. Shace sat down and Arcinine was going lay down next to him, "No boy not right now, go out and run around for a while, I need time alone ok?"

Arcinine fully understanding walked away from Shace while Shace stared into the ocean deep in thought.

[I don't intend to drag it out too long, but you jumped a turn ahead, Martel. You posted right after I made my move, giving SS no chance to resolve what was going on before your counter. I think that there should be a turn order in battle to keep things fair and orderly so battles move more smoothly. That way, people could not jump back and forth to keep countering posts because they would have to follow the battle order.]

Robert & Simon Masters

Simon shrugged a bit. "I doubt it. My brother is decent enough, but this is his first real battle against someone he's completely unfamiliar with. And she's rather familiar with my usual tricks. I know Rose will win, but this battle isn't about winning. If he can't take a loss well, then he'll take what he has to face even harder. Truth is, I have my suspicions as to what that Soul Dew he carries is. And if it is what I believe it to be, he's going to need all the strength he can muster if he doesn't want to crumble under the weight of his past."

Robert could hardly see anything after the mist attack. Gallade had taken quite a bit of damage. He was going to have to think fast. Then, he had an idea, one that might at the very least get Gallade out of the mist.

"Orion, I'm going to have Gallade use Heal Pulse straight up. Have dragonite heal up from it and pick Gallade up. With Gallade riding Dragonite, we might be able to pull off a double attack on the next pass." Robert suggested. He then called out to Gallade to make his move. "Gallade, use Heal Beam, straight up into the air!" Robert called out. Gallade thrusted his hands straight into the air and fired off a single, strong beam of healing energy, clearly showing Dragonite his location.

[OOC: If I had waited, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to use Feint. The whole point was for Scizor to engage Gallade specifically - you'll note that I didn't bring Dragonite into it at all, because I didn't want to presume to speak for SS...not until I have Rose KO both Pokemon, anyway. There probably should be a turn order for three-on-three or more battles, though. The problem is people will be jumping back and forth to counter moves...]

Stephen had heard about one of the new trainers borrowing pokemon to take on Rose "well thats going to help the bonding process" Stephen muttered to himself as he went over to the table and grabbed 5 pokeballs and also a pokedex. he quickly scanned the pokemon of his little 'party' and got the exact same that Faythe did.

Striding towards the back, he headed outside and enjoyed the battle that was raging between two teams, a Scisor and an Empoleon against a Dragonite and a Gallade, interesting.

----------------------------------

as the two grunts entered they threw pokeballs, unleashing a Zangoose and a Serviper, Cassidy smirked at the pokemon "Umbreon, hypnosis, Nidoking Follow that up with and earthquake" she announced as she opened her stance.

Umbreon's eyes emitted an eerie glow and put the two foe pokemon to sleep, and then jumped backwards onto Nidoking's head, who then jumped into the air and slammed his feet hard into the ground causing it to Vibrate ferociously, knocking both the Zangoose and Serviper onto the floor, "Umbreon, finish Serviper with dream eater, Nidoking, Thunder on zangoose." she announced, Nidoking's horn unleashed a massive bolt of thunder into Zangoose, KOing it, and Umbreon launched forwards, waling slowly in circles around Serviper, the Golden rings around its body emitting a light glow, Serviper began quivering in it's sleep, before it's trainer returned it to it's pokeball.

Craig stood smiling as Franklin looked at him in disbelief "that's 2 wins to 1 in my favour, care to continue, or do yo wish to give up now?" he announced, as he looked to the Ivysaur that Franklin had thought would be a good choice. "no, i shall continue" Franklin replied. "Okay" Craig muttered as he released his Infernape "how about now?" he asked.

Franklin reluctantly nodded his head "I forefit" he muttered as Ivysaur looked at him, a look of adoration in his eye. "I know that was hard for you Franklin, perhaps you should g out and train your pokemon more, maybe then you shall win, and ducking out of a fight may not seem like it, but Ivysaur will adore you for making that decision after all, my Infernape has feinted once in it's life, and that was to a Charizard that had no Heart as it's trainer was truly and evil person, without love or compassion in her heart" he explained.

OOC: I thought the turn order was you, Robert, then me. I had kinda assumed it fell into place.

Let's make that the turn order now.

IC: "True enough. And while Orion is probably the oldest newbie here, he has a long way to go. This isn't a favorable match-up..."

Meanwhile, with Orion...

"Orion, I'm going to have Gallade use Heal Pulse straight up. Have dragonite heal up from it and pick Gallade up. With Gallade riding Dragonite, we might be able to pull off a double attack on the next pass."
"Got it"

As Robert began to speak again, Orion shouted out to Dragonite.

"Dragonite, use Agility again! Then, pick up Gallade!"

Dragonite complied immediately, then headed for the heal beam and went straight down, attempting to pick up Gallade before he was hit.

"Well I guess we're watching the battle then." Cameron muttered to Faythe as Stephen walked out into the battle arena.
Cameron didn't want to sit still, she wanted to go out and train her Totodile... she just didn't want to seem like a massive brat.
Cameron picked up Reggie and carried him in one arm like a little kid would hold a cat.
"Diiilleeee" he groaned but didn't struggle too much.
She then plonked herself next to Stephen and huffed. "Thats a pretty incredible battle going on... but I'd have thought the first thing the trainers would want to do is train their own pokemon?" She petted Reggie, pulling her hand away fast as she noticed he wanted to chomp on it.

The battle really was incredible though, the four pokemon were huge and so majestic!! Cameron's personal favourite was Dragonite, he was adorable yet powerful!! But the brunette had ants in her pants and she did not want to sit still now, she had all her gear, she just wanted to get out there and do her own battling.

"Hey... do you want to battle me outside the lab before we head off?" she smiled wildly "C'monnn!! It'll be awesome, two water pokemon against each other!!" She stood up and tugged at Stephen's sleeve "Please, please pleaaaaseeee!!" she pouted.

Totodile smirked at Stephan and his little Piplup, he too wanted a battle.

[OOC: Sorry I was AFK gaiz :gasp: ]

Rena stumbled a few steps along the way with Charmander, scrambling to keep up with the eager Pokemon. “Charmander, what’s wrong?”

The two came to an abrupt halt when Charmander had met with Chikorita, the two exchanging knowing glances. "Char, char!" Their mischievous nature in working together to get their trainers together was reflected in their eyes, and their partner in crime wasn’t far behind either.

As she laid eyes on Chikorita, Rena was immediately enamoured with the cute Pokemon. A smile spread from ear to ear and she knelt down in front of one of the few female Pokemon in the lab. Rena cautiously held out her hand towards Chikorita, knowing to express respect for it’s personal space should it not take to her. After all, it was someone else’s partner. “Hello there, and who are you pretty girl?”

Rena glanced up and noticed that there wasn’t a trainer with the Chikorita. “Who’s your partner?” She didn’t have to wait long before she got her answer and a boy came back quickly with his things from the Professor.

Suddenly she was overwhelmed with anxiety at meeting someone new. She paused before standing back up and nervously sticking out her right hand to the trainer who belonged to the Chikorita. “Hi, I’m—"

She didn’t get very far with the introductions before someone crashed into her and the two went tumbling down, she landing on top of the Charmander and Chikorita. Rena groaned, effectively crushing the two small Pokemon before she hurried to her feet. “Oh, are you two alright?!”

She looked to see who had caused it, another boy, who was enthralled with joy and holding his Pokemon close.

For a second Rena laughed, forgetting all about the fear of new people and all of its anxieties. Well, they were all together now. Was this to be her team?

“I’m Rena.” She stuck out one hand towards Seth. “From Amaranth Town.” She paused, and then crossed her left arm over her right, extending her free hand out to Will again, hoping to make their acquaintance at the same time.

[OOC: We can't leave till i battle Himeno's character, we battled online over MSN lol]

Seth looked up at Rena, and gave a slight giggle "I'm Seth from Ermine Town.." He replied, taking her hand and getting to his feet.

He let go of Snivy, watching the pokemon as he sat on his shoulder, with an expression of joy across his face.

"W-well it looks like this is our party then, the others have already paired off." He said shyly, trying to continue making conversation with his other party members to avoid an awkward moment so soon after meeting.

After introducing himself, Seth looked around for an opponent to start a battle with, he was eager to find out if he could become good at battling, and looked over at the trainers watching the battle with the Champion.... "i wonder if i'll ever become that good someday" he thought to himself, looking over at Snivy, still on his shoulders, with a glazing look in his eye, watching the Empoleon with intense interest

With each of the boy’s hands in one of her own she smiled and shook, completing the introductions. It was obvious that the three of them were nervous, clear as the shaken smiles on their faces and the broken sentences they spoke. It was either going to be a very awkward journey or a very growing one.

She’d hoped for the latter.

She let go of their hands and then glanced around the lab. Indeed, there was a larger group of four close to leaving already, and perhaps one or two stand alone trainers who seemed just as nervous as they were about meeting new people.

Suddenly she realized something. “Oh, I’ll be right back!” Taking note of where the two boys had come from, Rena scurried off to the large table on the other side of the lab, clambering for a set of PokeBalls and her Pokedex. She certainly didn’t want to leave without those.

As she sauntered back to her group, she plucked away at the keys of her Dex; taking in the small tidbits of information as it scanned the two boys’ partners.

“So I guess... Well.. Where do we start?” Where indeed, she wasn’t even sure how to phrase the question as to whether they should leave now to the first town or where else to go.

Seth scratched his head, thinking of the person he wanted to battle most, then pointed to the girl with a Chimchar. "U-um... that girl looked like she wanted to battle me earlier, before the professor came out and began to battle..." He said shakingly, pointing out to the back garden.

Seth then quietly sat back down, still not too keen on the thought of mingling in such a big crowd...
Seth opened up his Dex, flicking through the various functions, and pointed it at the various pokemon, collecting the data as he pointed at each one.

He pointed to the Empoleon, then looked at Snivy. "That pokemon is called Empoleon, Snivy! it may be a water type, but it's also a steel type aswell so your grass attacks won't work as effectively as they would against a normal water type. Remember this for the day we end up against her, ok?" He said calmly, as Snivy noded and continued watching the match with the professor.

Stephen
Pokemon Lab garden/Amber Town

Stephen smirked as Cameron began tugging on his sleeve and pleading for a battle against him, "why not, should be a bit of fun" Stephen replied as he walked to the door of the lab, Pip hoped off of his shoulder and followed, both turning around at the same time to look at Cameron and Totodile "but don't expect me to go easy on you because your a girl" he informed her before he went through the lab and out to the centre of Amber town, looking around for a suitable place to battle.

Without seeing any water in the Area, Stephen figured they should just do it in the open, were there were no passers by, a smirk crept onto his face, as he looked around he noticed people looking in his direction, and talking amongst themselves "I'm going to have a pokemon battle, my opponent is on her way" he shouted to them, causing them to go silent and await Cameron, as Stephen had been doing for a couple of minutes

William: Amber Town Lab.

Where do we start huh? What a question.

He considered his answer as he looked around at all the other trainers getting to know their pokémon. He notcied that several people had their pokédexes out, collecting information on other people pokémon, and realising that should he ever end up battling one of these people, he ought to know about their pokémon pulled his out of his bag and began doing the same thing.

"I hear the first gym leader uses mainly grass type pokémon. Maybe we should go look on route one when we get a chance for some flying types or something?" he mumbled as he continued scanning around the room for any pokemon he might have missed.

"That is after you have your battle with that girl, if you still plan to, Seth."

He turned to look at the other boy in his group, noticing his interest in the raging battle occurring outside. Just think, one day even I could be that good, he thought, as he watched the Champion command her pokemon with apparent ease.

Turning to face his Chikorita he smiled,

"Ok Chikorita, let's make a promise, one day, we'll beat Rose, and prove just how good we can be!"

Cameron grinned with happiness when Stephen accepted her challenge! "Don't worry!" She said "I'm going to beat you into the ground, you wont have to go easy on me!"
Stephen then walked out to find a battling space. The brunette knelt down next to Totodile and said "We're going to win this!!"

"TOTODILE!!!" he answered with enthusiasm!

Cameron laughed and began to walk out to where Stephen was "C'mon" she waved a hand at Reggie, gesturing for him to follow. When she got outside there seemed to be a little crowd around the space where Stephen was... Cameron began to feel really nervous. This was her first battle ever, what if she sucked? She didn't want people to watch.
The girl took a deep breath. "Stephen... uhm... I..I'm here to challenge you to a 1 on 1 pokemon battle!" She said, stuttering a little.

"I choose you Reggie!" She said, sending her Totodile onto the battle grounds. "I'll let you have the first move as I challenged you!" She smiled

"Dile!!"

Stephen smirked as Cameron came out and made a very formal sounding challenge, "okay then cameron, I accept your challenge, my pokemon shall be pip" he announced as piplup stepped forward, held up it's wing and made a kind of fist with the end of it, letting out "pip"

Stephen thought to himself about everything his brother told him about battling, and how he shouldn't go for the Obvious attack, ~were both using water type pokemon, that means the best move would be to use Normal type attacks as they might be slightly more effective~ Stephen thought to himself before looking to piplup "Pip, use bubble" he shouted and piplup complied, spitting bubbles in the direction of totodile, the bubbls spreading out a bit on route towards Totodile.

~okay, bubble is like a shotgun, use it at close range for better effect~ Stephen's train of thought was going to move with the battle, he knew it.

[OOC: Next post I make, Rose is winning. I'm going to be a little scarce until I get my dissertation done, so just ignore Jennifer for now as well. I'll have her pop-up and join a group, or keep her by herself, depending on how much time I get. I know, I said I didn't want any lone wolf characters, but I'm not going to hold people up because I don't have the time to post constantly at the moment.]

Rose scanned the mists, one eye on Dragonite, which was still circling above. She couldn't see either of her opponents anymore, although they couldn't see her either and, since she had fought in these conditions with far stronger opponents, she was not overly concerned. She could have easily had Empoleon take out Dragonite by this point, whilst Scizor took care of Gallade.

Still, she was interested to see just how these two would try to overcome her little obstacle. They would be travelling together after this, she suspected, and Jenny would probably end up going with them. They would need to get a sense of one another, and how to work as a team. Although, after this was over, she would remind them both that, in a serious battle, she would have long defeated them. One could not take one's time in a battle.

She folded her arms and waited, knowing her two Pokemon were doing the same. The second that Dragonite came in, she'd have them both...

Robert Masters

"Now, use Protect and hop on Dragonite!" Robert called out as he saw Dragonite go downward into the mist. It'd be a long shot, but if the Protect move could shield them both on the pick-up, they'd be able to do something about the mist and try to attack Scizor and Empoleon.

Gallade listened and watched for Dragonite. Once it was within mounting range, Gallade would used Protect and jump up onto its back.

Piplup used bubble and Cameron smiled "A water move!! I didn't expect that so soon!" She then looked to Totodile "Reggie try to dodge the bubbles!!"
Totodile nodded and as the little round bubbles shot at him he'd duck and weave, trying to dodge them but totodile wasn't very agile and eventually the bubbles came at him too fast and he was hit and sent tumbling back
"Quick Reggie!! Get up!" Cameron shouted

"Dile!!" He squarked, jumping to his feet as fast as he could.

"Thats great!! Now use rage!!!" ((Hopefully he'll last long enough for rage to become powerful)) the girl thought to herself

Totodile did as he was told, his skin glowing red with rage, he then began to run and charge at Pip, hoping that he'd hit.

Rena looked to both of the boys, nodding at Seth’s inclination to battle a trainer from another group before they left. She and Will could either ditch him, or wait it out. Well, it’s only a starter battle, it shouldn’t be too bad.

She glanced to Will at the mention of a Grass Gym, and smiled. She knelt down in front of Charmander, meeting her companion at eye level.

“Charmander, what do you think of battling Gym Leaders?”

Her flame tipped friend shrugged and shook his head. “Char…”

“Not too into it, huh? Neither am I. I’m looking for a mystical Pokemon named Suicune. Do you think you could help me?”

Charmander grinned at the challenge, putting up his right clawed hand, eager to accept it. Rena was one of very few trainers to not take the Gym Challenge, and not quite the route of a Pokemon Breeder. Rena high-fived her partner and then pulled him close to her in a tight embrace. “We’ll do our best and chase down Suicune, and then Entei and Raikou…What do you say? We’ll be the best Pokemon Chasers there ever was!”

Stephen clenched his fists as Totodile ran towards piplup, it took him a split second to think of a potential way to counter the move "Piplup, Water sport and then roll out of the way" Stephen announced before piplup Sprayed water all over the field and rolled out of the way, the move had made all the mud they were battling on slippery and would make it harder for tototdile to stop, Stephen's plan was to have totodile fall over as it tried to stop.
