Nintendo Pokémon Black and White

Too many of the new Pokemon look like copies of ones prior. I think I even see two separate Pokemon sets that look just like the Turtwig lineage. Even a Charmander-esque thing in there. What worse though, is that they spent time giving all these different Pokemon baby forms and such rather than working to stack on these Pokemon and give the OU category some more balance. Oh well. If it really is for DS, I'll probably still get it.
 
I am very interested about this but it feels like 4th gen was not so long ago. I wish they had waited for the 3DS (and I am still hoping this is actually for the 3DS) but oh well.
I am very interested to see the new type of battles etc and new pokemon is always exiting for me.
I think this Evolution 3 might be that some pokemon now will have 4 evolutions (evolving 3 times) which seems interesting to say the least.

I will be getting this even if I hear bad reviews because as a devoted pokemon fan it won't feel right until I give it a go.
 
Proper Pokemon Black & White Screens

No new information, unfortunately, but we do have proper screens now of Pokémon Black / White, instead of terrible magazine scans. There have been a few popular observations floating around on the Internet since the CoroCoro scans leaked, which I’ll list after the gallery.

  • The technology in Black & White (the PC at the Pokémon Center, for instance) looks older than in the newer games, which means this might be set in the past.
  • The nurse in the Pokémon Center has brown hair, so it isn’t Nurse Joy. This lends some credibility to the theory that Black & White take place in the past, perhaps before the Joy lineage found their calling. That, or they take place in a completely different land that perhaps isn’t based on Japan.
  • On the other hand, you now have cars (*But there WAS a truck in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald!*), which haven’t appeared before, so maybe this is the future instead?
  • The screenshot with Zoruo and Zoroarc battling has a line of buildings in the background. There’s also an ocean around the city itself.
  • The player’s Pokémon is now displayed in full during battle.
  • The rocks in the cave appear electromagnetic.
  • The dialogue box is now in the shape of a speech bubble.

It would be cool that these versions take place in the past instead,seriously,whos going to be after arceus in the pokedex??? arceus is god!

Im really expecting these versions to come,the screenshots of it look fine,and the battle system,it changed,yeah!

Since Arceus is God and ends at D/P Black and white films anybody? It ius set in the past for sure! Omfg I cant wait till this!!! In the past then... We shall find out how Arceus was born
 
I heard it was coming out this October in the US, is that true also, it looks sweet, maybe it'll be rated E10+ this time, because it will have better and bloodier battles
 
No Oblivon its coming out in 2011. Its gonna come out around October in Japan I think but I know EU and NA is 2011. Yeah I know it sucks or maybe they will release it earlier :hmmm:

How do you figure? Game Freak and Nintendo would never do anything to raise the ESRB rating and run the risk of gouging out a good chunk out of their sales and potentially alienating a nice portion of their target audience. When it comes right down to it, Pokémon was released for kids. It may have evolved over the ages, and fifteen years later some of those kids are adults and still fans of the series, but its appeal to and target of children can't be denied.

Anyway, I think some of these conclusions are being drawn a bit hastily. I don't really see how this is set in the past. Which technology exactly looks older? The computer in the PokéCenter? It's just a different design.

If anything, I would guess it to be set after DPPt-- the large, 3D city shows me industrial advancement like we haven't seen yet in a Pokémon town. The merger of the PokéCenter and PokéMart seems more like a development for the sake of convenience rather than a primitive proposal that would be later dismissed in favor of seperate locations. The different nurse has no grounds for confirmation or denial in this sense, either. Perhaps the "Nurse Joy" characters simply aren't in this region (I assume it will be another new one). And it's just as plausible that the brown-haired nurse took over after Joy as it is that she worked there before Joy.

As for the cars, I think it shouldn't be looked into so deeply. If I recall correctly, cars appear on occasion in the anime series, but they certainly aren't a frequent sight. It's because they aren't entirely necessary or important. Think about the games up to this point, and imagine cars and trucks randomly parked here or there. It'd just be weird. With the switch to 3D, perhaps they feel they have more space and background to play with. The truck in the screenshot above looks to be in an inaccessible area that would probably look too boring without some sort of decoration or detail. A big red truck spices things up.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just bitter, but I'm far from enthused about what I'm seeing so far. Here's hoping for more exciting news in the future.
 
It's true the graphics are more 3-D and pretty cool, and I'm excited to see how much the battles changed.(If they changed at all...) I'll probably buy this if it isn't loaded with legendary Pokemon this time. Ever since Ruby/Emerald there were so many legendaries that catching a legendary meant virtually nothing to me...
It'll probably be the last generation of Pokemon I buy though.
 
Pokémon Black & White Footage From Pokémon Sunday

There is a tiny bit of gameplay shown in this video - no battle footage unfortunately as there is only a static image of it. Still, it's worth looking at. I stress again - still no new info as such.

Hey Thanks Olivia <33 This is so cool. The way Black and white is! Look at those buildings! and when the character walks. Its all better now. Im still confused if its the past or present because Arceus is god and this should be in the past :hmmm:
 
Lol @ Lucario. :wacky: And it's really cool how the city is shown at that angle, it helps show how large the different buildings are, and just how different they look. :awesome:
 
Pokémon Sunday has literally just revealed the sihlouette of the next new Pokémon. As usual, we cannot completely tell what it's meant to be but they are for the three starter Pokémon. However, it is very likely that we are not going to be waiting long to find out as CoroCoro is expected to leak within a couple of days.

New starters? Finally. I wonder which is which, or if it is even the traditional Fire, Water, Grass choices again. :hmmm: Pretty sure I see leaves somewhere in there though. :P
 
The 3 new starters of course. I hope they change the types though. Water fire and grass is getting too repetitive. The one on the left looks cool. But we need too find out when they are unveiled.
 
I knew they were silhouettes of new starters, just put a question there as I was slightly surprised it is going to have new starters, but I guess I shouldn't have been to surprised, it was due for a new set of starters.

And agreed, the one on the left looks like the best looking of them, but wait till it shows all of their true colors, then it could be a different story...who knows. >.>
 
I don't really think they have any reason to deviate from the water/fire/grass starters, and I also hope they don't. It's become sort of tradition now, and it'd just be super weird if they were anything else. Can't wait to see what they actually look like, though.
 
True enough I guess, those are good to start out with anyways, then in no time you encounter Pokémon of other types, which can be caught then used.

With my situation, it is probably for the best that this isn't released this year, I can only get so many games now for my birthday and on Christmas Day, so I can choose some other games, then next year I can get one of these, I'll just see as more is revealed whether I will want Black or White.
