there was a demo out for FF7 already in 1996. Square announced that they were working on FF7 already in 1995

Yes we do. It included the introduction of the game, all the way down to blowing up the mako reactor and escaping from it.We do not know what was included in that demo
I have provided you with links and dates to back up everything I said. You have not done that for all you're saying. You have ot proved that the gameboy games Pokemon red or blue was released in 1997 in Japan.it's strange that you haven't provided us with any dates yet
The only link I've seen from you so far is one to an IMDb page that gives us the US release date of Pokémon. I haven't seen you show us whether or not work on FFVII started before work on Pokémon.I have provided you with links and dates to back up everything I said.
I may only have provided one clickable link, but I've also mentioned sources that you can look up yourself. You have not done that for all you're saying.
This is perfectly true. I haven't proven that the first generation of Pokémon games were released in Japan in 1997. This is because they weren't. I have, however, given a reference that shows that they were released in Japan in 1996.You have ot proved that the gameboy games Pokemon red or blue was released in 1997 in Japan.
I know all that - although it should be pointed out that there wasn't necessarily any deliberate copying involved. I'm not arguing about whether or not Mewtwo's story is similar to Sephiroth's.All in all, if you've actually played Pokemon red or blue, you know that it doesnt have much to do with Mewtwo's story. His story was first realised in the Pokemon movie. Which was released in 1999. And based on what everyone agree's on here, his story is a bad copy of Sephiroth's story.
Questioning someone's status as a fan is not a substitute for providing sources. If you're a hardcore FF fan then you know where to look.
This is what is known as circumstantial evidence. And I have no doubt that when they made Mewtwo's story, which is the villain of the movie, they looked at Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, because he became extremely popular in the rest of the world, and even more popular in Japan at that time.
The ATB system is not a turn based system. In battles using the ATB system, each character has the chance to perform an action after a certain time that is dictated by their speed. The speed of other characters is not taken into account when working out this time interval. In a turn-based system, the order in which characters take an action is determined via a comparison of their speed stats, as in Pokémon.Just the fact that it is turned based
In battle commands in Pokemon are, IIRC, Fight - which takes you to a menu of four different moves for each character - PKMN - which allows you to switch to another member of your party - Item, and Run. The Fight command in Pokémon does not work in the same way as the attack command in FF, and Pokémon does not have a magic command, nor does any FF game before FFX have a command that allows you to switch characters in battle.uses a menu with attack, item and magic system
This is because they are both part of the same genre. Games of the same genre have common elements. Pokémon has it's own items unique from FF, and it's own set of names for similar items. Why shouldn't Pokémon call, for example, a restorative item a potion? Final Fantasy didn't invent the idea of potions being used for healing purposes.have items that works the same way as in FF, even with the same names
As I've already said, Pokémon does not use MP.is built on MP and HP
Final Fantasy was not the first game based on random encounters. Dragon Quest predates it.is based on random encounters as well?
Actually. Donkey Kong would be a ripoff from Mario Bros by that assumption.
Nope. Mario Bros. is a spinoff from Donkey Kong, which was the first game ever to feature Mario (although at the time he was known as Jumpman).
Mewtwo was hardly mentioned in the gameboy game. His story was first formed in the movie which came years later than FF7 did.And yes the Battle Systems are similiar...Who freakin cares? And I believe Pokemon existed long before FF7...So saying Mewtwo would have been ripped from Sephiroth is plain wrong
