Would anyone be interested in starting an RP based off of the Pokemon Universe?
The background would be that an island between the four (five if you count Orange Islands, I don't. Same goes for Orre.) has been found and an "ultimate" tournament has been called (in a "year" or so from the start) and the best trainers are assembling to decide who is the best trainer of all...

We could start as new/experienced trainers and go from there...
If we did do it as experienced trainers we would have to limit the power of trainers (e.g./ No/One Legendary Max (for now))
 
Sounds cool, I'd love to RP as a trainer! But uh, my experience with Pokemon only goes as far as like the first three or so...

Would you accept people who don't know a ton about it? (I think I mastered pokemon Yellow but didn't get too far in ruby etc.)
 
Anyone is welcome to join, you could just be in the Kanto region and stuff...

That site is the best for Pokemon and Pokemon-related events/ideas/issues etc.

I think we might have two options for the RP too...
You can be a new trainer, or you can be an experienced one...

I'm intrigued...My geeky love for the series never went away with age, even though I expected it to!

Just a couple of questions though buddy:

-Do you start with just the one pokemon?

-In battle's, should we have a separate judge who says how much damage is done, e.g. Chikorita's vine whip does 14 damage?

-Can we catch wild pokemon?

Not trying to take over at all mate, just curious. Potentially, this could be very good :)
 
Yeah, I'd like to be an experienced (but clueless) trainer! This idea is going to be awesome.
 
This sounds pretty interesting. I think I might join this RP.

I'd like to be a new trainer from the Kanto region, since that's the Pokemon I grew up with....

OK, a list of guidelines/rules....

RULES
If You have a Rule idea, please share​

1.No God-Moding...

2.Raising pokemon has evolved for more than ten years; don't feel limited to have your pokemon do certain things...but do not violate the "No God-Moding" Rule.

3.Pallet Town is the starting point for new trainers, that means Kanto is the starting point. But you may choose to be from another town... Experienced trainers may start where they wish.

4.I trust you know the layout to Kanto and other regions... if not, try and get familiar with at least two... although the final tournament will be in a small island between the four (yeah, four) regions.

5.Pokemon faint, but they can also die. If you are breaking the rules, rest assured, I will strangle your pidgey...

6.I also trust you've been instructed in the english language, so I'd like it if you didn't describe things like a cave-man...

7.If you're still unsure about pkmn gameplay, then I'll tell you that there is no leveling up. Pokemon evolution is up to the trainer, as it always has, and moves can be taught at any time.

8.Have fun and try to make it as realistic as possible...

9. Hurt yourself for having such strong pokemon appear out of nowhere, then EDIT your posts and get rid of those Legendary pokemon.

10. Legendary Pokemon are one of a kind a VERY rare, I don't believe you would have that pokemon.

11. Legendary Pokemon should appear as wild pokemon, or belong to a more suitable trainer; no offense, but a trainer with a tyroge and ratata wouldn't have a REGISTEEl.

12. If I didn't mention it already I will still put it anyways and it goes hand-in-hand with the legendary pokemon rules: NO GOD-MODING for pete's sake!

13. Battle-wise keep it like the show (kinda). E.g./ Chikorita's vine attack would hurt a rival pokemon but would not KO it unless it was a super weak enemy or super strong Chikorita.

14. Please post a profile. The profile layout is here and I shall approve them.

Appereance:
Hair: Short, spiky, white.
Eyes: Light blue.
Body: Wiry yet muscled, as a result of years of travelling.
Clothing: Dark Blue Jeans, Black Belt with pouches and niches, Black Runners, White T-Shirt. He also has black, finger-less gloves and a Light Blue Backpack.
Marks/Tattoos etc: Milotic running over shoulders and down inside of right arm.
Profession: Pokemon Trainer.
Home Town: He thinks it might be Fortree City (in Hoenn), but he isnt quite sure, as he left when he was two and his parents died when he was five, since then he has been travelling.
Personality: Rather closed off, he is sarcastic and cynical, but fiercely loyal to those he counts his friends. He takes a long time to warm up to people and when he does, still doesn't like to let them get to know him properly.
Favorite Pokemon: No individual favourite but some of his best liked are: Rhydon, Swampert, Heracross, Absol, Golduck
Pokemon Goal: To have friends

Appereance:
Hair: Long and curly, Mainly brown, but has hints of ginger.
Eyes: Dark Green.
Body: Thin as paperclips and as white as paper.
Clothing: A thin but encombersome Black Robe, Underneath it is a brown shirt with rollable sleeves. His jeans are weathered black corduroy. He has a massive Dark Green belt, the same shade as his eyes, that leads down to rest in between a pair of oversized hiking boots.
Marks/Tattoos etc: No tattoos, but he does have a scar on both of his forearms, that when side by side, show the line to go across both.
Profession: Pokemon Breeder.
Home Town: His parents were both from somewhere in Kanto, his Grandma hasn't told him much else. He lives in Mauville (with his previously mentioned Granny) and regularly crosses waters to reach the 'Berry Man'
Personality: His humour leaves you with both the feeling of happiness and concern. His face never really shows emotion, but the way he moves and speaks shows enough. Friends mean little more than allies to Frizzle, which can spark off some pretty nasty battles.
Favorite Pokemon: Abra/Kadabra/Alakazam. Anything less is rarely good enough for Frizzle (unless he can use it to get more Abras).
Pokemon Goal: To breed an Abra that can rival the mightiest of foes.

Team: Captain Abra, Green Abra, Stupid Abra (Apart from the green one, the other two are just ways to describe their battle techniques)

Name:Cresent, he only has one name because he dissowned his parents who didnt believe he had what it took to become a trainer.

Hair:Blue and red streaked hair, that hangs roughly around his shoulders.
Eyes:Dark Crimson.
Body:Fairly well built for a 14 year old and has a fairly good tan.
Clothes:Dark blue jeans worn threadbare at the knees. Massive black leather belt with a huge quiksilver buckle.He wears on his torso a plain white vest which allows him to show of his tattoos.He wears a pair of dark black hiking boots, that are a few sizes to big.
Marks/Tattoos:He doesnt have any marks but he has two tribal tattoos running the full length of his arms.
Profession:Pokemon Breeder.
Home town:Pallet town. But is wandering from town to town staying in various hotels.
Personality:He is a very humorous person to be around but he can turn nasty if you mention his parents. He moves with a slight limp due to a failed attempt at catching a pidgey in a tree. i.e breaking his leg.
Favourite pokemon:He has two pokemon his ever faithful pikachu and his second ever pokemon squirtle.
Pokemon Goal: to be the best ever trainer.

Appereance: styled brown hair and sea blue eyes. Damo stands at a large 6'4 and boasts a toned physique
Profession: Pokemon trainer
Home Town: Cerulean City
Personality: Very upbeat and enthusiastic. Damo has a great sense of humour, but can be very scary if provoked.
Favorite Pokemon: His prized Jolteon. Evolved from Eevie with a Thunder Stone and has since became very powerful.
Pokemon Goal: To raise a group of incredibly strong pokemon compiled of each element.
