Also..
Eventually, PS4, not right away, but hey eventually I will get it... maybe after an year or something....
Definitely the Xbox One.
As an enthusiastic American of the dudebro/soccer mom/whatever sort, I praise Microsoft for finally delivering a machine capable of giving me Skype. I am also very excited at the prospect of being able to watch all the fantasy football I want on the Xbox One while making sweet love with my TV. After all, Microsoft understands the sentiment of every modern day American. We should all be in love with our TVs. I could simply whip out my phone or tablet and whip it up in seconds as well, but it will be so much better on the Xbox One that I can throw away my TV remotes and turn my phone into a remote instead. Also, I can't wait to use the Xbox One as my new digital TV setup box. The one I have already will be an obsolete waste of space. Barking commands into the new mandatory Kinect system will also be fantastic. It will revolutionise the way we watch TV, because simply clicking on a remote to change channels is anachronistic and prehistoric. This is the Xbox I have always wanted.
The games are looking absolutely sublime. Look at those arms! So hairy and realistic! It makes me want to caress those arms and kiss them. And look at the pelt on that dog! Look at its expression and its fine details! It's a fantastic innovation and this is why Call of Duty: Ghosts will be one of the most innovative and exciting upcoming games. I can do nothing but sit awestruck at the sublime graphical fidelity on display today. It decisively beats absolutely anything the PS4 or the PC can muster. This is proof that the Xbox One will be the most graphically capable machine there is, and this will inspire PC gamers to abandon their overpriced rigs and migrate to Xbox. EA continues to deliver every time, surpassing expectations with their next-gen batch of sports games, with graphics so amazing, I may half-forget whether I am watching an actual match, or playing one, and a plethora of new features that will change the way we play FIFA and NHL.
I also cannot understand why people are making the fuss about games being tied to an Xbox Live account, and that you may have to pay a fee if you want to pass a disc around. I think this is another great idea from Microsoft. It's forward-thinking and it makes perfect business sense. It's fair and it is just. I staunchly believe that every gamer must buy a NEW copy of a game every time. It means the publishers receive the fair amount for each sale for the fruits of their labor, and anyone who objects to that is guilty of breathtaking arrogance. This would also encourage multiple people in one household to SHARE an account or each pay fees to be able to play the game on each of their accounts, which is also a good thing. It can either bring families together, or by paying the fees, capitalism keeps America free. That alone is very desirable, unless you hate freedom.
The PS4 looks garbage in comparison. There is no voice command feature on it. There is nothing as innovative and ingenious as SmartGlass. Its operating system is trash compared to the majesty of the Xbox One's three OSs. I cannot seamlessly watch whatever I want instantly on a PS4, and as a stereotypical American, I demand the right to be able to watch all the NFL I want on my console. Sony does not offer that. What do they offer? They don't offer an all-in-one box. They offer only a games console. Yeah, a games-first approach. How anachronistic. It proves that while Microsoft is thinking ahead and pushing the boundaries of possibilities, Sony collapses to this dinosaur mindset of a machine primarily for games. Sony is therefore a dinosaur with no new ideas, nor a viable vision for the future. Sony will fail. Microsoft will win again.
I absolutely, resolutely, indomitably, indubitably, no-friggin-doubt-about-it think the Xbox One will be the superior purchase. I will buy three units of it. The PS4 is pathetic, garbage and dead on arrival. You are an absolute idiot if you decide to purchase a PS4. The Xbox One will have more Halo, Gears, and 15 exclusives. What will Sony's exclusives be? Jappo crappo.
Phil Harrison said:Here's how the system works: when you buy an Xbox One game, you'll get a unique code that you enter when you install that game. You'll have to connect to the Internet in order to authorize that code, and the code can only be used once. Once you use it, that game will then be linked to your Xbox Live account. "It sits on your harddrive and you have permission to play that game as long as you’d like," Harrison said.
At this point in time I'd say PS4. I've been with Sony ever since I stepped up from my Mega Drive II so I had loyalty anyway, but these unveiled aspects just reinforce that. Mandatory kinect, bragging about social media when the PS4 has it's own network where players can allegedly easily access one-another's playspace? I'd rather take that. Granted that the removal of always online is a bonus for XboxOne I don't think it should have been there at all. Introducing console base DRM essentially overstepped this anyway leaving me to wonder if we'll need to go online to validate each purchase regardless.
At this point in time all that can save XboxOne for me might be these exclusive titles though I expect a handful of sports, kinect and shooters. A score against Sony however is the issue of losing all of my SEN content. Yeah. I'd like to avoid that. Regardless, gotta be a megaton reveal to get me to buy XboxOne over PS4 at this point with the issue of no unveiled price tags nipping at my mind.
Don't worry people.
I'm sure the dogs on CoD will blow our fucking minds.
On a more serious note,
I'm thinking the whole Buy New Games Only rule is really, really, stupid. The industry doesn't lose much sales from second-hand games. I'd be believe anyone if they said that second-hand game purchasing contributes to the game industry still being alive.
I've always been more with Sony in the beginning, because the ideas were more reasonable. I mean I was never a fan of the whole XBL fee, so now way was I ever gonna play online on an Xbox.
With that said, the PS4 all the way for me, although, it will not be in the same year. I will wait for them fix the kinks and other system issues that come out on launch day and later.
