Simple question, now both systems have be shown, what system you getting next gen?

why isn't Wii-U on the list? :wacky:

Also..
Eventually, PS4, not right away, but hey eventually I will get it... maybe after an year or something....

PS4 hands down. If I have the money, i'll get it on release if not i'll wait a bit.

I don't consider Wii-U a 'next gen system' it launched last year and is running current gen specs

Veryyyy early to decide which one. Xbox one had virtually no games shown except a new CoD which I did not give 2 cents about. Oh my god.. it had a dog! So new! I am hearing bad things about Xbox one though. Particularly because you have to buy everything new because Microsoft apparently confirmed that you have to pay more if you buy used games.

What a load of bs... is what I am thinking. If this is true.. I think I am more than likely going to be getting the ps4 first because I start University in September and that will cost lots of money.

I will decide once E3 has started. I like exclusives and I want to see what Xbox have up their sleeve besides shooters. Although, most of them will be shooters.. I can count on that.

Actually, Wii U SHOULD be on this list. It will compete with both systems to a degree.

Definitely the Xbox One.

As an enthusiastic American of the dudebro/soccer mom/whatever sort, I praise Microsoft for finally delivering a machine capable of giving me Skype. I am also very excited at the prospect of being able to watch all the fantasy football I want on the Xbox One while making sweet love with my TV. After all, Microsoft understands the sentiment of every modern day American. We should all be in love with our TVs. I could simply whip out my phone or tablet and whip it up in seconds as well, but it will be so much better on the Xbox One that I can throw away my TV remotes and turn my phone into a remote instead. Also, I can't wait to use the Xbox One as my new digital TV setup box. The one I have already will be an obsolete waste of space. Barking commands into the new mandatory Kinect system will also be fantastic. It will revolutionise the way we watch TV, because simply clicking on a remote to change channels is anachronistic and prehistoric. This is the Xbox I have always wanted.

The games are looking absolutely sublime. Look at those arms! So hairy and realistic! It makes me want to caress those arms and kiss them. And look at the pelt on that dog! Look at its expression and its fine details! It's a fantastic innovation and this is why Call of Duty: Ghosts will be one of the most innovative and exciting upcoming games. I can do nothing but sit awestruck at the sublime graphical fidelity on display today. It decisively beats absolutely anything the PS4 or the PC can muster. This is proof that the Xbox One will be the most graphically capable machine there is, and this will inspire PC gamers to abandon their overpriced rigs and migrate to Xbox. EA continues to deliver every time, surpassing expectations with their next-gen batch of sports games, with graphics so amazing, I may half-forget whether I am watching an actual match, or playing one, and a plethora of new features that will change the way we play FIFA and NHL.

I also cannot understand why people are making the fuss about games being tied to an Xbox Live account, and that you may have to pay a fee if you want to pass a disc around. I think this is another great idea from Microsoft. It's forward-thinking and it makes perfect business sense. It's fair and it is just. I staunchly believe that every gamer must buy a NEW copy of a game every time. It means the publishers receive the fair amount for each sale for the fruits of their labor, and anyone who objects to that is guilty of breathtaking arrogance. This would also encourage multiple people in one household to SHARE an account or each pay fees to be able to play the game on each of their accounts, which is also a good thing. It can either bring families together, or by paying the fees, capitalism keeps America free. That alone is very desirable, unless you hate freedom.

The PS4 looks garbage in comparison. There is no voice command feature on it. There is nothing as innovative and ingenious as SmartGlass. Its operating system is trash compared to the majesty of the Xbox One's three OSs. I cannot seamlessly watch whatever I want instantly on a PS4, and as a stereotypical American, I demand the right to be able to watch all the NFL I want on my console. Sony does not offer that. What do they offer? They don't offer an all-in-one box. They offer only a games console. Yeah, a games-first approach. How anachronistic. It proves that while Microsoft is thinking ahead and pushing the boundaries of possibilities, Sony collapses to this dinosaur mindset of a machine primarily for games. Sony is therefore a dinosaur with no new ideas, nor a viable vision for the future. Sony will fail. Microsoft will win again.

I absolutely, resolutely, indomitably, indubitably, no-friggin-doubt-about-it think the Xbox One will be the superior purchase. I will buy three units of it. The PS4 is pathetic, garbage and dead on arrival. You are an absolute idiot if you decide to purchase a PS4. The Xbox One will have more Halo, Gears, and 15 exclusives. What will Sony's exclusives be? Jappo crappo.

Basically everything here is why the PS4 and Wii-U will actually stay ahead of Microsoft in the console wars.
Go ahead and buy your cable box, that you will not have cable for unless you get a real cable box :elmo:

Ugh Wii I'll never make the mistake of getting a Nintendo Console unless they can prove they can cater to ALL Gamers and not just kids :/

But I'll be sticking with the PS4, X box has never ever been good to me mostly for their online sub fees which I don't like, internet bills alone are enough, I don't shell out more cash just to use online on a game systems which costs around 200-300$ fuck to the no.

So yeah regardless of what micro gets I'm sticking to the PS :mokken: I just don't like the idea of no backwards compatability(so I've heard :/ )

I'll be going with the ps4. I saw the reveal and the fact that you need the new kinect to work with turned me off

Okay, in all seriousness, there might be a slight bit of truth to that online-is-necessary thing. After all, where there is smoke, there's going to be a fire somewhere:

Phil Harrison said:
Here's how the system works: when you buy an Xbox One game, you'll get a unique code that you enter when you install that game. You'll have to connect to the Internet in order to authorize that code, and the code can only be used once. Once you use it, that game will then be linked to your Xbox Live account. "It sits on your harddrive and you have permission to play that game as long as you’d like," Harrison said.

"you have PERMISSION to play that game as long as you'd like"

Aww, how generous. We have permission to do that! :ari:

The closest thing to this I can think of is Steam. However, this has none of the benefits of Steam. If this tickles your fancy, you may as well make the full transition to PC gaming because that will have the benefits that the Xbox One will not.

I will see what comes out of E3, but the new IPs will have to be quite remarkable to sway me. Until then, PS4 it is.

At this point in time I'd say PS4. I've been with Sony ever since I stepped up from my Mega Drive II so I had loyalty anyway, but these unveiled aspects just reinforce that. Mandatory kinect, bragging about social media when the PS4 has it's own network where players can allegedly easily access one-another's playspace? I'd rather take that. Granted that the removal of always online is a bonus for XboxOne I don't think it should have been there at all. Introducing console base DRM essentially overstepped this anyway leaving me to wonder if we'll need to go online to validate each purchase regardless.

At this point in time all that can save XboxOne for me might be these exclusive titles though I expect a handful of sports, kinect and shooters. A score against Sony however is the issue of losing all of my SEN content. Yeah. I'd like to avoid that. Regardless, gotta be a megaton reveal to get me to buy XboxOne over PS4 at this point with the issue of no unveiled price tags nipping at my mind.

Let's not forget that playstation 4 also have real time game stream if you want it and the sharebutton. E3 will tell us which console will be the console to get. But as of now, ps4 is winning

PS4 for me, but I was very late to getting a PS3 and I have no reason to upgrade as of yet. So far all of the titles I'd get on PS4 I can get on PC or PS3. I'll wait until the library is bigger and there are a few games I want badly enough to warrant spending the money. Plus if I wait long enough I'll be able to get the console cheaper.

Now for the why PS4 instead of Xbox One: the PS4 plays games. It plays them well. It gives me a good controller, good graphics, and a good user experience, and that's it.

I don't care about all the excess features of Xbox One, and I care even less about Xbox exclusives. I do care about Playstation exclusives and a focused gaming experience without all the distractions. It is also nice that Sony is taking the traditional route on their software and not requiring online, single user account activation. The hardware is almost identical (which boggles my mind), so the deciding factor is simply the core system software and the game software. For me, when I look at it that way, there's not even a competition.

I am rather curious. The reveal was really a letdown, IMO. They still think they can blow people away at E3? Well you know what.. maybe I will give them one more chance. I already have been thinking about how PS4 will be my first next gen console though. It is the more likely outcome for me as of now.

I stated my views on XboX One already and I despise that we have to pay extra for used games. If they don't bother to change that then I will probably ditch xbox forever.

Don't worry people.

I'm sure the dogs on CoD will blow our fucking minds.

On a more serious note,

I'm thinking the whole Buy New Games Only rule is really, really, stupid. The industry doesn't lose much sales from second-hand games. I'd be believe anyone if they said that second-hand game purchasing contributes to the game industry still being alive.

I've always been more with Sony in the beginning, because the ideas were more reasonable. I mean I was never a fan of the whole XBL fee, so now way was I ever gonna play online on an Xbox.

With that said, the PS4 all the way for me, although, it will not be in the same year. I will wait for them fix the kinks and other system issues that come out on launch day and later.

I voted PS4 because the Xbox One out of Ten is stupid. I will not be buying a PS4 for a while, though. At least not until something I actually am dying to play comes out for it. My PC can play almost all the games that will be on both consoles, aside from a few exclusives I couldn't give two shits about, so I'll probably just stick with Nintendo for now. Oddly enough they seem to be figuring stuff out now.

THIS. I probably wont buy a ps4 within the first 2 years of release.

Probably neither. My 2 year old budget gaming PC really isn't that far behind either hardware wise, and will be up there with a few choice upgrades. These days there are so few exclusive titles, that I personally don't really see the use for owning more than one system

I haven't really kept in touch with the console reveals (amongst many things), so I do not know much about what is actually being offered by the PS4 in particular (though I have heard about the 'Xbox One' and the fantastic television it will provide).

I will definitely say PS4 regardless, as for me it is a choice based on games. The games I want would largely be available for the PS4, and the exclusives for Sony (the Uncharted series, Quantic Dream games, etc) are enough to keep me with Sony. Perhaps we may even see The Last Guardian finally get a release! I care little for special features which, though they may be cool, I realistically will not put the time aside to ever use.

I'm not sure when I'll get one. Likely it will be many years in the future, when prices are at a price which are not too pricey.

As for the Xbox One... Strange name. I wonder why they've chosen that. It doesn't sound like the name you'd give to a next-generation console. It sounds more like a re-brand or a slightly edited form of an earlier Xbox (the original), comparable to the Playstation One. Or perhaps it is like a baby Pokemon or something.
