And so Aqui followed Tali mindlessly. She didn't really pay attention, focusing more on petting her mount than on the directions. So even when she found herself in some mysteriously bright place, she was still focused on her unicorn-blooded horse which was unusually unsettled.

Just as the light began to dim, she finds herself beside Tali.

"Hi Tali! We reached?"

The girl was firing bolts of lightning at something... Someone, actually. Aqui got off her frightened mount, smiling as she glanced around the place.

"Wow, this place is quite beautiful!"

She says this, looking away from the guards that were charging their way, and ignoring the other people that were around and that she didn't know.

“I will have you know that I do not like being called ‘short stack’ by someone by some as small minded as you! Plus-As I was saying, I am not a fan of your fake, artificial, fire. Call back when you learn how to do the real thing, shorty.”

Pom found herself feeling a bit hurt and stung by the last comment. "I'll have you know that the fire is NOT artificial!" She grunted before charging her gun up. "It's merely being amplified to its fullest potential, but you wouldn't understand, you're obviously as daft as a Pygmy Toad!" she spat, hearing her gun bleep once more before she shot out a lightning spell.

This one was in the shape of a thunder bird and it tore through a few guards sending them into shock and paralysis on the floor.

"Also you're not allowed to be so hypocritical in calling me short when you, yourself are as short as I!" It seemed like the two girls were more interested in fighting one another than the guards at hand. The guards were easy anyway, even for Pom who wasn't one to get into fights.

Even so, the guards just kept coming and she wondered if perhaps they would all be defeated by becoming fatigued rather than wounded.

“Pigmy toad, you say?! I will have you know that I am smarter than you can ever dream of! “Tali said, quite offended by her remark. As she said this, she fired more flames at the guards. In two blasts, she took out three of them. She had gotten far too rusty at this… there should have been more bodies on the ground at her feet. Before she continued, she let slip a stream of lightning that flew into another guard, sending him flying.

“And I will have you know that I can do whatever I please. You are short; this is fact, coupled on to the fact that you are Human, I say that gives me quite the right to call you short!” Turning to her right, she noticed that another guard was getting close to the wolf. With a flick of her wrist, a fireball hit him square in the chest, exploding, and causing him to go flying as well. “How about you keep your stupid comments to yourself and just concentrate on killing these guards?!”

She was starting to get a little tired, actually. She was using big spells… it was a nasty habit of hers to be a little excessive about things, and this was no different. Her spells were too big for targets so weak. As saw Aqui, she couldn’t help but be annoyed at the fact that Aqui was just… being Aqui. “Aqui, can you do something besides being useless? Attack these guards! Just do something, anything!”The last thing she needed was to get surrounded by them… Tali wouldn’t like that much at all…

Ryan grinned a little bit at the man he'd insulted, who was now down in the courtyard where the action was. "Heh-heh-heh, you got yourself a deal, man. But quit callin' me kid, my name's Ryan," he said, almost casually stopping a halberd thrust towards him from the side by grabbing behind the blade. He pulled, causing the guard holding it to stumble forward and then kicked them in the gut, wrenching the weapon from them, just to flip it around and thrust it right through them. He finished that off by kicking his foot against the protruding handle of the halberd, sending it deeper into the body of the tainted guard and the fiendish man tumbled backwards.

"What's goin' on is that wreck of a Duke is a warlock!" he called to the man. "I was visitin' this place a few months ago to perform in fairs and shit, and one day a herald from the Duke invites me to play for the big cheese!"

CRUNCH! A guard's arm was dislocated out of the shoulder socket as Ryan disarmed and then practically crushed their arm with the tentacles from his back like constrictor boas.

"So I go along with it, and the next thing I know, I'm locked up in a high security dungeon and the Duke starts bleeding me for some infernal rituals. These freaks are like this because of it--but obviously this is a shoddy ass job!" the bard explained, snatching a guard who lunged him, lifting him overhead with arms and tentacles and then tossed him onto the incoming halberds of other guards, knocking them all over. "I think he's been draining people of their magic too--because I knew mages and the like who were the bucket with me but once they got taken away I never saw the poor idiots again!"

By now the numbers of the guards in the courtyard were thinning out. Many had retreated towards the castle and those who were left behind were slowly being taken out by the fighters.

"Now that bitch of a Duke thinks he can kick me back into bloodbag duty! Not to mention he had the gall to give MY guitar to some washed up, second-rate strummer who calls himself a musician," he growled. "My achin' ass!"

A dull THUNK! echoed as the blade he was using melded into his hand and then formed a large battle hammer that he wielded with both hands, swinging it once as he moved towards the warrior woman, clearing his way to her. Two guards were all but flattened by the heavy weapon and as Ryan tread over their bodies, he crushed another's skull with it.

"PHE-EW!" he dry-heaved as he got near her, offering a hand in clearing out guards. "It's starting to stink like hell and ass around here! Hey, warrior lady, you wouldn't happen to know some other way into the castle other than front door, would you? I figure it's about time we took this fight to the big cheese, before he pulls some bigger demon outta his ass and then we're all fucked, don't you think?"

And suddenly there was attack. The man who had yelled at her to back off was now fighting, and the guards surrounded her as well as the others in the courtyard. She stood with a slight crouch, eyes suddenly narrow and catlike as she glanced swiftly at her attackers.

A smile crept over her face.

The naginata was whipped from its holster, slicing into the calf of one of the demonic guards, causing him to howl in pain.

"Ha." She giggled, spinning the weapon in two hands. "I thought you'd be tougher than that. Don't tell me a little cut like that has you down for the count."

The guard growled and attempted to get to his feet again, but the hilt of the naginata hit him in the head, sending him sprawling and unconscious to the ground. "Awww, so close." She crooned over the unconscious body.

As another guard lunged at her back with an axe, she jumped into the air, backflipping as she dug her naginata into his shoulder and landing at her feet behind him, before ripping the weapon out and slitting his throat in one fluid moment. This one wasn't fortunate enough to be rewarded with incapacitation.

"If you're going to cheat, at least do it right, would you?" she asked, propping her hands on her naginata and her chin on her hands with a disappointed expression on her face.

Spying the man who had sparked this fight along with a group of other people, she skipped over to him. "Hey! Pretty boy! Wait up!"
___________________________________

As the last guard to surround him dropped to the ground, glowing with pent up light Flick had infused him with, the Light Mage wrung his hand much like one who received a burn would have. That battle had caused a large influx of energy to his palm, and he had been weakened considerably.

"Hey." He glared at Ryan. "Jackass. What's the big idea?"

As a notion of respect, Leo waved back to the delivery girl. Instantly walking over to a drawer, he opened it and pulled out a pouch of money and pocketed it in his trenchcoat. On top of the drawer rested his two inventions that he strapped onto his wrists. "I'm going out, I don't know when I'll be back." he said to his parents as he adjusted his sunglasses to prepare for the barrage of light that was the upper world. He had never been on a teleporter before, but he knew where it was. Walking directly to the closest one, he walked inside and handed the man at the gate some money. "Keep the change, I don't need all of it." This was a slight power play, but he really didn't need money. He got paid for his work while supplied with all he needed in life, so he had a large fund at the moment.

The teleporter kicked on and as Leo stepped in, he suddenly felt as though he was being thrown around in many directions. Although it felt like this lasted for a whole minute, it hadn't really been any time at all. Instead, he came out of the other side as soon as someone else was going in, causing them to clash. Being Leo's small size, it was like hitting a brick wall. The man he hit simply apologized and went on his way. It was a preventable circumstance, but understandable to the point that it was ignorable.

Leo was now in the Morris Courtyard. The sun was so bright it nearly burned his retinas that had been tamed to the darkness, so he was forced to push his yellow sunglasses even closer to his eyes. There seemed to be some commotion, which explained why the man he bumped was in such a hurry to get out. In response, Leo aimed his arms at the closest two targets, one who appeared to be a half demon. The sight was probably laughable, since this 4'4" pipsqueek was seemingly just pointing his arm at this over 6 foot man who clearly knew how to fight. "You there, explain the situation!" Leo said in a demanding tone.

"Hey! You didn't have to put it like that!"

Although, Aqui realized, Tali wasn't completely wrong. This IS a battle - and truth be told, Aqui never was anything but useless when it came to that. Granted, her parents made sure she knew her spells well enough to survive, but considering her lack of practice, and amazing laziness...

"Bring it! Aqui Copy, I choose you!"

A beam of light shines down on Aqui, and she begins to glow. Within seconds, the glow intensifies and the silhouette moves away from the person. Or rather, the person moved away from the silhouette, but in any case, there was now two of Aqui, except one was glowing and the other was not.

Aqui, looking over to her glowing counterpart, sighs,"It'll be so cool if I can glow like that, but whatever."

Looking over to Tali, she exclaims,"Aqui Copy! Use your Physical Attack!"

Obeying her orders, the copy runs towards some random guards in the distance, and began engaging in a weaponless battle against the armed guards.

Raz winced as the mage cast a spell at her, knowing that her magical defenses might protect her, but she couldn't help the reaction -- defending against magic was hard and tricky, and she could never be sure if the runes on her armor would protect her or not.

Thankfully, this mage wasn't very powerful and the spell pinged off of her defenses: for a moment, a shield of runes hung in the air around the swordswoman, constructs of light and pure energy, before fading away entirely.

As the half-fiend approached, shouting a question to her, she finished off the mage with one swift thrust of her sword. "Yeah!" she shouted back. She pointed with one sword to the shadowy corner of the courtyard -- dimly seen in the shadows could be seen a door. A sally port, meant to hold off an invading army, but in this case it would work just as easily for them to escape and go around the back. She'd spent most of her life within these walls -- she knew every crack, every nook and ever door there was. There was no defense she didn't know about.

Quickly scanning the crowd, she saw no sign of Jazz -- then saw his distinctive red hair as he slipped through the front gates. She let out a small sigh of relief -- he'd be alright.

Tossing the ruined guard sword that she had mangled by beating on a guard's heavy plate mail, Raz swung Thirst and held it before her, her palm pressed against the bloody blade. The runes glowed an eerie blue. "Don't look," she said.

She muttered a word. A blinding flash of light and a deep roar or deafening proportions erupted among the thickest part of the guard's ranks. They stumbled like broken dolls, tripping over each other, pawing at their eyes. The runes on Thirst lost their glow, were no more than scratches on a fine blade, without any power.

"Try and keep up!" Raz said and ran for the door, cutting down a guard that happened to have the shitty luck of getting in her way. She slid up to the doorway with baseball-player finesse, neatly ducking under an arrow zinging for her head. One, two, three mighty kicks and the door opened. She ducked through, and found herself standing on a narrow ledge outside the castle walls. Raz pressed her back against the hot stone and edged away from the main bride, careful to watch her footing lest she fall in the moat. There should be a small bridge around here somewhere...

Tysorai had never been knocked out before. Never. Not since the day he had been born had anybody dealt enough superficial damage to knock him unconscious. As Tysorai came to, a singular emotion surfaced alongside a throbbing headache.

Ty. Was. Pissed.

Tysorai awoke groggily at first, then quickly snapped up and to attention. He was unaware of the Healing Bullet that he had been shot with, and was unaware of all other attentions and protections granted to him during that time. All that he heard was the echoing music. All that he smelled was Ryan, surrounded by a mist of mixed blood: his own and the demonic guards.

After a second, Tysorai let out a lupine snarl and lunged after the guards nearby Ryan. He ripped the throat out of a guard behind Ryan with his bare claws, then leapt over top of the half-demon to land directly on top of the guard Ryan had just speared. In his blind fury he grabbed the spear and yanked it out of the corpse, jabbing it forward and gutting one of the guards. He dropped the spear and snarled again, jumping forward and savagely biting into the guard's face.

When the guard's face had been effectively mauled, the effects of the musical echoes began to die down. It took a moment for him to realize that he had been under the influence of Ryan's instrument. He grabbed his head and staggered back; lucky, as a sword cleft the air where he had been a second before. Tysorai shook his head clear and swiped at the guard's neck, laying his throat wide open. He began to sniff around, doing his level best to ignore Ryan's scent. Metal...his own scent...Tysorai's preoccupation was interrupted by a guard foolishly trying to club him with a morning star mace. Tysorai dodged to the side and let out a feral snarl, jumping on the guard and jabbing his claws straight into the guard's heart. His claws came out bloody and wet; Ty shook them off and started searching again. There you are, Tysorai thought, and ran off towards the scent he locked onto: his daggers. Tysorai cradled them as he picked them up; they had been blasted away from his body when the ground near him had exploded. Not without a sigh of relief, Tysorai sheathed one and dodged to the side as a mage lunged for him with an enflamed staff. Tysorai swiped down with his other blade, braining the unfortunate mage. With a twist the skull cracked open and the blade came free. Tysorai grabbed a throwing knife from his pouch and threw it at an approaching guard, getting him straight through the neck if the wet gurgle was anything to go by.

Tysorai walked up alongside Ryan, this time out of his feral rage. He turned to him and poked his friend in the chest. "If you ever use that music box to turn me feral again...I'll gut you and leave your remains for the Duke. Understood?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

((OOC: Fridge Brilliance - Tysorai, being a half-elf-half-wolf (i.e. werewolf), has better hearing than the majority (if not all) of our 'team', and is also in touch with a rather feral side. Ergo, he is more likely to succumb to his feral rage when there is a significantly hard musical piece being played. His hearing allows him to retain this as 'echoes' (kinda like getting music stuck in your head, only much more potent and accurate) as long as the subconscious is active. I've discussed this with Phoebe, and she agrees; there will be much potential for lulz in the future with this!))

Location: Morris Castle - Courtyard

"Funny how I keep getting all the attention today..." Ryan muttered quietly after dispatching the last guard that was near him, and stopping just long enough to make the blood-armor helmet melt away into blood and pool on his shoulders like shoulder guards. He wiped his forehead quickly.

He glanced between the halfling, the elf and the part-fiend woman while he took a breather. "The big idea is that we're all in deep shit, especially part-fiends and magic users. The Duke's been plotting some kinda big overthrow and turned his soldiers into these ugly demonic shits we've been thrashing. He's been killing part-fiends to use their blood for this and apparently it ain't working well."

He flicked a few of the tentacles now coiled against his back. "He's been draining the magic from anyone he can get, somehow. I've no idea what the fuck he's doing with that magic, but I've seen mages get dragged off and never seen again. Shit, this might even be why he's opened the magic conference to the world: more fodder for his sick little plans," he sneered. "All I care about though is that he pretty much violated me and I ain't gonna be happy till I've done about the same to his scrawny warlock ass."

He watched the mercenary woman open that door that led into the castle for them and grinned. "And I believe that's our cue. Anybody who wants to kick some demon ass and loot a bastard's treasure trove, hop on the whoop-ass wagon and hold on to your panties!"

He followed right after Raz. "The name's Ryan by the way!" he called cheerfully, giving her a big, fangy smile. "Allow me," he added in an unfailingly polite way.

Then he used one of the tentacles, instantly molding it into a longer, thinner wire as a hookshot and easily pulled himself across the moat and onto the ramparts above the gate, then descended into the room over the gate. A few startled screams and a guard's body flying out of a window later, the raising bridge rolled downwards with loud clanking noises and thudded in place. Ryan dropped down from the ramparts with a smile.

"We're in business!" he beamed, and then strode over to Ty as the few remaining guards executed a hasty retreat into the castle through the main gate while they still held this secondary one. Already they could hear some guards from within the castle moving towards them to try and recapture the gate.

"Lady, you and your bear rock," he said to Tali as he crouched besides Ty. "Besides the money, I owe you a big favor, sweet stuff," he said to the elf girl, giving her a sly wink.

He was glad that Ty was now wide awake and had kicked some massive ass, so he nearly grabbed him in a big hug.

"Ty~! Nice to see you're up from your little nap! Ready to storm the castle. We're gonna bust that Duke in the nads and go raid his treasure trove. I'll buy you the biggest T-Bone you've ever gnawed on and a gold collar with a name-tag," he said, then paused with a grin as Ty grumbled about feral urges and music. "What? Oh, that tune? You went apeshit because of that? Really?!"

Suddenly Ryan'd turned almost nerdy. "No shit! That's awesome! I strummed a tester and it turns out a masterpiece~ Oh that's so rich," he laughed, patting Ty on the shoulder. "Don't worry, I swear I'll only use it for good!"

Then he suddenly leaned in and smacked a kiss on Ty's snout. "Mwuah!"

And then he strolled off after Raz. "Let's go raid us a warlock's place! Lead the way, sister!" he called to Raz, grinning at her gleefully.

Tali
Castle Morris Courtyard
Tali grinned as the demon man… thing, complemented her. It was always nice to be complemented for things of that nature. He had some sort of tentacle hanging out of him. While that may have put most people off, Tali wanted to put him on a lab table and start learning more about him. From the way he was speaking, he wanted to go and kill the Warlock he was speaking of. Of course, Tali would have to go with him, for she wasn’t going to let him leave without paying her.

“I know that I ‘rock’,” Tali said, the smug in her voice evident. “There is no need to tell me things that I already know… but you are not so bad yourself, I suppose.” However, what she wasn’t telling them was that her excessive spell chunking had made her a little more tired than she should have been. She watched as Ryan exchanged his… odd brotherly type love with the wolf man that he called “Ty”. As he finished up, he started off towards the castle gates. “Let’s go raid us a warlock’s place!”

Tali hopped on Berhu and rode beside him so she could rest a bit. “Do not leave without me… you owe me, and I will see this through to the end. Just keep your… tentacle to yourself.” She said, combing her hand through her hair and stoking Berhu’s soft fur.

As the other half fiend vanished into the ramparts and demolished the guards, Clair skipped over to the body that had flown out. "This guy knows what he's doing," she said, with a smile of delight.

"Oh yeah. I don't have a mount, so if I get tired. I'm hitching a ride. I thought you'd like to know!" she said with a beaming smile, before skipping into the castle. "Ladies first, of course," she said, before disappearing into the castle. "Now where does this Duke food live?"

Flick slapped a palm to his face. "That jackass," he snarled, moving said hand to a shirt pocket. "I thought that we'd be safe here."

Then again, since I came with Lady Mouth here, there was never going to be something as simple as a magic showing.

Sighing as he shook his head in an attempt to clear his head, he turned to Ryan. "Lead the way, Tentacles."

Seeing her two acquaintances walking away, she decided she ought to follow. Somewhat disappointed by their failure to acknowledge her presence, she gently nudged her mount in their general direction as she watched the amusing battle that was ensuing between the guards and her magical copy.

As the copy possessed no weapons, it was restricted to simple punches and kicks - neither of which did much harm to a hardened warrior. Being also agile enough to dodge the clambering guards, it was just repeating a pattern.

Giggling softly, she shook her head as she looked back to the two, and the tentacle-male.

"Lead the way, Tentacles."

"Tentacles huh. That's an interesting name."

"Lady, you and your bear rock."

The stupid demon said thanking that short little witch of an elf. Well this had Pom fuming, that little jerk didn't do anything, she is the one who healed him. This would not do at all!!

She huffed and followed the demon bard and punched him right on the left ass cheek.

"You inconsiderate toad!" She growled at him. "I did the rescuing, not that little halfling!" She said fuming, face going red from anger. "I demand a thank you! Also you can't go after the Duke, I need to have a word with him, if you kill him or hurt him them my plans are ruined! Where are all your manners??"

Charles

Charles had killed at least twelve guards and sat on a bench to feast on one of their arms, he took a bite from it and spat it out, it tasted disgusting, like old rotten flesh. He had some taste, only the fresh stuff would do!

Then he noticed everyone was leaving. He wasn't sure what was going on and he didn't really know what all this fighting was about. How unfair it was to be an orc that couldn't understand the way humans worked.

He stood up, throwing the arm to the side and walked over to a couple of elves, two girls and one boy, one of the girls was tiny, just like that little pink haired boy he met earlier.

"Little tiny girl. What happen now?" He asked the tiny elf stupidly, bringing his hand to his head to scratch the bald spot on his crown.

Cerden Celebrindal
Morris Castle Courtyard

Ryan had no trouble explaining the situation to Cerden. Even if there were a few guards trying to kill him, he done away with them as if they were insignificant bugs. To be honest, Cerden was actually enjoying hearing Ryan explain all of this. In some ways, Cerden saw some of himself in this kid…well if you minus the fact that he’s a half-fiend, and can kill ya in a heartbeat, but that’s not really important, now is it?

As things were heating up with each passing second, there seemed to be unlikely allies coming along. First with Ryan and Cerden forming a very weird, yet solid friendship, then some half-fiend chick. Yeah, this is definitely a tall-tale out of the mind of Stephen King.

Just before Cerden could muster out the right words, a brave little guard came from behind him, and in slow fashion no less.

Cerden seemed a little ticked as the guard muttered out “out of the way old man!!” Now, you know that when someone calls Cerden an old man, he goes completely bananas. This was one of those situations where everyone would feel sorry for anybody who is on the other end of Cerden’s anger - especially if they said the two words that no one shall dare speak to him. “OLD MAN MY ASS!” Cerden said as his entire body soon became covered in hard, thick glass.

The guard came down with his broadsword in a hard, but slow, vertical slash. Cerden cart wheeled out of the way as he flipped to side, and he began his assault. Firstly by kicking the guard in his nuts, and then as the cries came out, Cerden proceeded to punch him repeatedly in the face over and over and over again. However, the assault didn’t end there. Just as the guard was grasping for his breath..well his final breath, I guess, Cerden took out his twin, short swords, and proceeded to stab the guard once in the middle of the head, and once in the nuts. It was with that, the ugly-ass guard said goodbye to his life.

“Okay, Ryan!” Cerden said all calmlike as if nothing happened, “Let’s go do us some raiding..”

Tali
Castle Morris Courtyard

“Lead the way, Tentacles,” Tali heard from behind her. As she turned around, she saw the Elven boy from earlier. He seemed to be in the same delightful mood that he was in earlier. As for why he wanted to come along, Tali didn’t have the slightest clue. However, Aqui seemed to be coming along as well… Tali wasn’t even going to try to figure out why she wanted to come along. It also appeared that the short one with the gun was coming along well.

And from the looks of things, it wasn’t very happy. “You inconsiderate toad! I did the rescuing, not that little Halfling!” She said something else about speaking with the duke, but Tali wasn’t listening very much. Upon hearing her being referred to as a Halfling, Tali was less than amused. “Antolle ulua sulrim!(Much wind pours from your mouth)” Tali shouted, turning her head to look her. “Listen here, you pink haired midget! I will have you know that I am a full blooded Elven lady of great status! You are a short pink haired trollop with little skill and fake artificial fire. Dolle naa lost. (Your head is empty)” Tali said as she turned back around on Berhu.

As she was no longer facing the short one, Tali couldn’t help but mock her as she rode on Berhu. “Oh, look at me, I have fake fire,” she said, her fingers imitating the shape of a gun as she mocked her. “Pew pew! I am so powerful and strong with my lack of skill and puny guns!” She started laughing as she placed her arms back on Berhu. “That is what you sound like, you pygmy.”

Just as she was smiling at her insults, a rather huge Orc with grey hair approached her. “Little tiny girl. What happen now?” Tali hadn’t told anyone in her life that she was somewhat afraid of Orcs. The shriek that she let out was so loud that the whole city of Morris would have had to have heard it. Quickly realizing that the midget would be watching, she regained composure rather quickly. “D-Do not sneak up on me like that, Orc!” Tali yelled. “We are obviously following the tentacle man inside. I could not care less for your reasons, but he now owes me… so he does not get out of my sight until then.” Her arms quickly folded on her chest as she finished. Tali was determined to be paid for her previous actions.
