As we all know, 1&2 got remade for PSP, 3 for DS, 4 is gonna come out on DS, what about 5-9? I think 5, 6 should be on DS, and 7, 8, 9 should be on PS3, 10, and 12 are fine on PS2.

What do you think on this?

I think it's safe to say V - VI will be next in line for the DS, if recent history has anything to say about it. I agree X - XII are fine as they are, but the PS1 games, especially VII, need remaking. Certain SNES ones, IV and VI, I think warrant an update beyond the DS too.

Yeah, they'll probably due 5 & 6 after 4, for the DS and then they'll stop just to piss off FFVII lovers.

Well, put simply, 7, 8 & 9 are large enough games in their current state that it’s a given any remake would have to be on a major console. Now, factor in fully revamped graphics as well as voice audio tracks and it equals a lot of storage space needed... Something the DS and GBA can’t offer.

Given enough time, I’m sure they’ll remake ‘em all.

I agree, I would not be surprised at all if Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX were remade. The fact that those games are discontinued for years, new fans are wanting to get their hands on these games. Square Enix will probably remake them on the PS3 or Xbox 360.

I admit, it will be exiting when they fully render the characters. My only concerned this if Square Enix decided to change somethings in the games and do it their way.

They better not, leave the script and storyline alone, sure, put in some extra side quests, and weapons, but nothing to destroy the plot

I'm sure they might add new optional dungeons, monsters, spells and summons such as in the GBA FFIV, V and VI remakes. Which is no problem for me. ^_^

I'm sure FFVII was to be remade there will be references and characters mentioning Genesis.

Exactly, with most of the original staff that developed VII, VIII & IX no longer there, there's a pretty good chance that might happen...

Ah well, lets just hope that if they do decide to remake them, they only upgrade the graphics, audio and add a few extra sidequests, but leave the original stories well enough alone.

Yeah, I think they will remake Final Fantasy V and VI for the DS as well because I think most of us know how money hungry Square-Enix are. :P I hope they don't make VII-IX on the PS3 because I have no intention of getting one LOL. They should remake it for that AND the Nintendo Wii but I don't think that would ever happen. I think they should focus on making entirely new FF games though instead of the constant remakes lately.

I think so too. I admit it's nice that they're remaking some of the FF games but they should really focus on continuing the FF series. The only benefit out of remakes is pretty graphics and more quests.

I wouldn't be shocked if the remakes were done on the Xbox 360. Mircosoft has been doing a pretty good job marking in Japan.

I'm going to admit it, i think they should remake ff7, coz i haven't got it, nor played it, but i want to so badly, but i can't find it anywhere

I don't. I think SE should leave old FF's alone after these GBA and DS make-overs of the Nintendo-era games and concentrate on new games. FFXIII is the future, not FFVII, it's good enough as it is so get over it! Its sad that "we must have a remake" just to make it more accessable. If you want it, get it! Second hand games stores, E-Bay, downloades....theres many ways of getting hold of the copy if you actually look. Besides, SE will probably re-relase FFVII in a 20th Anniversary Edition or something, with smoother graphics, updated translation, extras etc....

I doubt that'll happen soon, the 360s lack of popularity in Japan as well the fact that Blue Dragon flopped despite being made by some of the most popular RPG designers. Unless The Last Remnant really sells well then SE will probably continue not to develop that much for it.

I've mentioned it before but I'm against any idea of a remake, after milking the FFVII name for every penny with crap giving people what the only thing they bloody wanted in the first place at the end is kind of a slap in the face.

But as long as SE continue to make money selling at full value games that are at the heart of it ten years old or more then I can't see them stopping.

See, this guy has sense. FFVII is being raped of its glory with the compilation, and a remake of the game itself will do it no favours. Yes, people want to play it with better graphics, better translations, more sidequests and so on. But the graphics and poor translations are half of the beauty of FFVII. Block hands FTW, and I downright refuse to call her 'Aerith'.
The same can be said for pretty much every other FF game, with VI being the only exception. The story in FFVI was almost done to perfection, the vast majority of the characters were all interesting. Its only let downs were a sad lack of sidequests really.

if they actually put 7-9 on the ps3, i'm not exactly sure how i'd express my happiness. with voice acting and improved graphics, im sure it would blow up the final fantasy franchise once again.

True, but Microsoft seem to be slowly gaining popularity from the Japanese developers. It could be possibly though if Square decides to released remakes on both Xbox and PS3. SE is releasing Infinite Undiscovery on the Xbox 360. We'll see how that goes.

As much as I would enjoy better graphics in FF7 and voice acting in FF8 and 9, I think that they should just leave those games alone and concentrate on making new ones. I am afraid of a remake mainly of the chance that they would maybe slightly change the plot and completely compromise the original story, which would be so uncool.

People for who playing these remakes would be the first time they meet the stories would be fine, but people that have played the original games, like me, would be devastated I think.
