Alright. I'm a big movie buff. I LOVE movies. But I haven't seen EVERY movie there is...

That's where you guys come in!

I'd like your requests for movies to watch.

I will watch any movie you request and afterward I will write a review of it. (ANY movie. Be appropriate, please. I KNOW you know what qualifies.)

One movie at a time though, please! (Please don't request more than one movie at a time. Also, wait until I have written a review of a movie you have requested before posting a request for another movie.)

And please, tell me why I should watch the movie or what you thought of the movie you request! (Don't just have your post be a movie title.)

If someone else has requested, don't wait for my review, you may request a movie for me to watch! I will go in order of who posted.

EDIT: If I have "Liked" your post, it means I have seen your request and will watch the movie and write a review as soon as I can. But it might take a while. I don't buy these movies, I have to stream them.
I'm going in order so I will not like your status until I am through with the previous movie review.

EDIT EDIT: Since I AM streaming, there MIGHT be a chance that I am unable to watch the movie you have requested. Therefore, I will give you a heads up if this ends up being the case... However, if I have notified you that I am unable to find the movie and you are able to give me a link to where I can find it, I will make it TOP priority. NO download links though please. I do not do downloads for movies...
ALSO! If you are able to provide me a link to the movie AS you request it, it will make things a LOT easier for me.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: If you have requested a movie I have already written a review on, I will inform you Via PM and ask that you edit your movie request.

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT: If you would like to talk about my reviews or other movies that have been requested, this is not the place for that. If you liked my reviews, please use the "Like" or "Thank You" buttons.

Hercules returns. It's my favourite movie ever. You won't get it though because you're a turd, but you should watch it anyway.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Seriously. My favorite of the franchise.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Seriously. My favorite of the franchise.

Order of the Phoenix is the best movie :mokken:

But Goblet of Fire is definitely the best book (y)

Anyways, to the thread topic: Heat

If you deem a cop vs robber movie the best, and have not seen Heat, you are a blasphemer and an enemy of the Logos which drives reality and are overqualified for a long eternity in the hottest part of fiery blue Hell :)

A fellow film buff, ey? If this thread gets a lot of activity, mind if I give a hand writing some reviews? :monster:

I hope you don't mind obscure foreign films! :D Where do you stream your films? If it's Lovefilm or Netflix, you probably only have access to films a little bit more mainstream. :(

The Little Otik (Otesánek) - Doing a little bit of digging, I found that this film is also known as 'Greedy Guts' so you may want to do a search for that. Here's the IMDB synopsis...

When a childless couple learn that they cannot have children, it causes great distress. To ease his wife's pain, the man finds a stump in the backyard and chops it and varnishes it into the shape of a child. However the woman takes the root as her baby and starts to pretend that it is real. When the root takes life they seem to have gained a child; but its appetite is much greater than that of a normal child.

If you don't have much of a budget, then buying this on DVD is probably outta the question 'cause it's going on Amazon for around £30 second hand. You might get lucky and find it somewhere cheap, though.

I didn't know which one you meant so I assumed you meant The Hannah Montana Movie :)

Here we go.

I honestly never thought I would EVER see this movie. I know the TV series but I tried to go into it blind.
Right off the bat you know this movie was made for the people who enjoyed the TV series. We start out with a rock star named Hannah Montana that everyone loves. But she is living a double life and is, in reality, a country girl named Miley Stewart. Then there is a man trying to get something dirty on Miss Montana. Miss Miley has her life consumed by Hannah so her father brings her back to her hometown in Tennessee where she is to discover who she really is.

That's enough of the plot though because I don't want to spoil anything. This is a review, not a spoiler ;)

It's basically a movie about a bratty kid finding out who she really is/getting her life straightened out. There are plenty of cliche's. Example: "I need to go to the bathroom to become my alter ego" cliche. The movie is SLOWLY dragged out to the inevitable and anyone with a brain can imagine what the ending is going to be like... There's nothing in this movie that really has not already been done. Sure, it's a kid/family movie, but it could have been a little more bold. Also, there were plenty of scenes that could have been left out of the movie entirely.

Now, some good things.

I like the dialogue, nothing anyone said seemed really forced, which is good! It ran quite smoothly. I know all of the songs were pre-recorded, but it was nice to hear some smooth singing. (And I KNOW there were no children that mind that ;) ) The screenplay was, for the most part, smooth. Though predictable, the story had a freshness to it which is also due to the very nice acting.

Now for the moment of truth.

What did I rate this film?

I'm going to give it a solid 60% out of 100%

It was not a bad movie, but it has something left to be desired. It would have been nice to see something new and the average movie goer will not understand unless they go into it blind, which not very many people do.

Was I glad I saw this movie? Eh... I could have lived without it...

Alright, Bunnymund I will try to find your movie next!

Haha Goodluck finding it. I hope you do though.

Also nice review...though it does't make me wanna watch that terrible movie haha

i'm sure lew will recommend city of god, so i'll leave that up to him.

i have a lot of love for franklyn, and i can't see why it didn't get a bigger buzz when it was released. one of the best british films i've ever seen

Watch Collateral. Tom Cruise is a dink but that movie was so good :ari:

1408! A grand haunted hotel movie. By Stephen King (the short-story).
Either version is good...so whichever :)

I did not like Franklyn at all
did you guess how it all ties in together? i didn't and was blown away by it. i thought the juxtaposition (lol pretentious i am) between the two different worlds worked wonders.

and 1408 is very good indeed. everyone should also see sunshine, one of danny boyle's best.

This isn't a chit-chat thread, sorry. :sad2: We're in danger of heading down that route.

Please use this thread for the requesting of reviews of movies, and on topic to the reviews and the OP.

Also, try to avoid very short posts as this is a post-count section. If it is hard to do this then perhaps the thread can be moved to a safer location.

Alright, here we go @Bunnymund

My review for Hercules Returns:

Alright, so the synopsis of the film goes a little something like this

So this guy, Brad, is sick of the place he is working at. So he quits to open up a theatre. The guy he worked for doesn't like that idea, in fact, he wants to squash this competition. So he gets one of his workers to screw up their opening night by switching the English version of the film they are going to show (Hercules) with one in Italian! So now, Brad and his two friends have to dub the film in English for opening night!

Sounds like a great fun film, don't it?

Right off the bat we have little jokes flying around and it only gets better from there! It reminds me of a few comedies I have watched before. Is that bad? Not at all! It was quite a refreshing film!
The plot is really simple to begin with, and instead of dragging the movie out, they solve the conflict right away leaving the rest of the film for entertainment purposes. Is that a bad thing? Only if it isn't executed right. This film was able to make a small plot pointed movie into a hilarious night at the movies! It could have been done in other ways but they chose to keep it simple. Which is not bad. Not all good movies have to be overly complex. Great actors and funny jokes make this a must see comedy.

The only BIG issue I had was the sound. Not everything was clear so bits of dialogue and jokes were hard to hear. I don't know if it was the video or the movie itself, but I found myself lost at points because the clarity was bad in parts. It was also a bit dull in parts, but it quickly picks up afterward so it wasn't that big of an issue either.

I think I enjoyed this movie more than a lot of American comedies.

What is my rating for this movie?

I'm giving this movie a 90% out of 100%

I greatly enjoyed this film and I would be more than happy to watch it again with my friends! I will recommend this to anyone who enjoys comedy!

Thank you very much for sharing this film, Toni! :)

Alright, @Castiel you are up next, I think I have time for one more movie tonight :)
