Resident Evil....The Umbrella Rebirth THE RP!

OOC: @ Omega. Kumi isnt in a state that she cant fend for herself. She is more like sort of mild seasick type of sick. She can fight rather well.

Hild grabbed kumi by the front of her shirt and pushed her back onto the wall before pointing her gun at the far end. Kumi grunted with indignity. Ugh. Hey you know, i am not that useless yet. As if to show her point, Kumi got to her feet, pumped the shotgun and aimed it down the hallway. A sceptical look appeared on Hild's face, but there wasn't much she could do to convince her to stay down. The small burning paper lit the hallway and the clock. Its ticking was omnious and made the air eerie. You want me to go up and check around? Pulling her tactical torch out, Hild switched on the high powered beam, cutting through the dimness of the hallway lighting up more of the clock.

Marcus started walking up the steps when he heard a piano play. This made him think of back home in Chicago. His mother was a professor of history at UIC, his father was an Army Ranger who took part in countless operations in the 1980's, dying in the streets of Mogadishu in 1993 (he was 11 years old at the time.) His brother, which the piano playing reminded him the most, was a gifted piano player, who died when gang warfare caught their neighborhood in 1998. It made Marcus join the Marines a year later. His memories of the past had tears rolling down his eyes.

Back to reality, Marcus continued climbing up the rest of the steps, when he heard gunfire coming from the room down the hall. He started running to the opened door and turned right, where he saw Stephen battle a giant snake. Holstering his L. Hawk, he instead took out his M4 Carbine and said, "Stephen, let's take thing together!" and started peppering the snake with 5.56-mm fire.

As Jill finished playing a click sounded within one of the walls and the panel began to slide open.

Chris moved over to investigate and noticed an etched plaque with a bust of a Tiger with a crimson and sapphire gem glowing in its eye sockets...he read the inscription on the plaque aloud to Jill.

"The Blind tiger may shed light on the darkness for those whom restore its burning gaze, and open the passage way to salvation" Chris stated as he looked at the gems in the tigers eyes and rubbed his chin and wondered what the riddle ment...

"But this tiger isnt blind, do you reckon there is another statue like this one in the mansion?" He asked Jill seemingly having an idea as to what the riddle was getting at...

"Only one way to found out I guess"
Jill replied as she opened the radio frequency to contact the others "Jill here, we found a statue of a tiger, with a pair of gems in its eyes...can you guys keep and eye out for a similar statue with no gems...thats it for now, Jill and Chris over..." She finished and the pair began to examine the statue closely.

Chris grabbed hold of one of the gems and the room began to shake around them forcing him to quickly release his grip...."Yea that does not seem to be a good idea...lets move on for now I reckon" He mentioned as they both nodded to each other in agreement and headed back out into the narrow coridoor.

Marcus managed to get the attention of Yawn's child, who lunged at Marcus with amazing speed. Marcus jumped over, barely dodging the snakes attack. However, he would land closer to it's tail. When Marcus felt, the snake grabbing it's leg, he said, "Oh crap." Yawn lifted Marcus into air and would of proceeded to eat him had Marcus not reacted quickly. He threw his incidniary grenade down the snake's throat. It worked as Yawn's offspring writhied in pain, causing Marcus to say, "yeah, suck on that!" He turned towards Stephen, "You want me to finish this off or should I?"

Stephen smiled as Markus came to his aid against the snake "die you sucker" Stephen announced as he Fired two of the 6 Explosive grenades at the snake, the first hit the snake's body, the second hit its head. The snake let out a masive screech as it fell to the floor, Stephen then ran over to the snake and shovved the barrel of the grenade Launcher into it's mouth, he pulled the trigger and the grenade exploded in it's mouth, killing it.

Panting heavily Stephen turned to markus "I think we should move on together" Stephen announced before his earpiece burst into life.
"Jill here, we found a statue of a tiger, with a pair of gems in its eyes...can you guys keep and eye out for a similar statue with no gems...thats it for now, Jill and Chris over..." Stephen smiled at the request and pushed the button on the earpiece "Hownam here, sure thing, Myself and markus are moving through the second floor right hand side now, just took down a rather large and ugly Snake, we are fine" Stephen then turned to markus as he released the button "Lets go" he announced

After Stephen said, "I think we should move on together.", Marcus responded, "I think we should." Marcus said. Before he started walking he said, "We work pretty well together.......buddy." As they started walking Marcus asked calmly, "So, besides serving as RPD STARS, what other line of work have you been doing, since this city has been off the map for about a decade."

Stephen slung the grenade over his shoulder and un-holstered his P226. "So, besides serving as RPD STARS, what other line of work have you been doing, since this city has been off the map for about a decade." Markus asked, Stephen smirked at his remark "well, during the first incident i was 8 years old, i was evaced from the City by Chris, he saved my life" Stephen began explaining. "when i was put in my first foster home at 10 my new father enjoyed drinking and playing beat the foster child, after 6 months of that i went back into care, Spent 3 years there. at the age of 11 i got myself a paper round, the orphanage though it was a good idea, so one of the carers went with me every day, mainly to make sure i didn't run"

Stephen looked at Markus to gauge his response "at 13 i wa adopted again, this time by a wonderful family who gave me what i needed and cared about me, when i hit 16 i joint the police force, getting recruited to S.T.A.R.S fresh out of the acadamy, and spent a year with the same squad before they were all slaughtered in a mission" Stephen paused for a moment, his memory resorting back to his old squad "after that i was discharged with PTSD, started seeing a shrink after moving back to Racoon city two weeks after my discharge, where i have been living since, waiting for Umberella to come and screw the city over" Stephen finished explaining.

"but hey, everyone has their story right" Stephen announced smiling "what about you" Stephen asked as he opened the door on the opposite side of the door he came in through and putting a bullet between the eyes of a zombie.

Before Eron could answer, her headphone beeped as Jill came over on the frequency"Jill here, we found a statue of a tiger, with a pair of gems in its eyes...can you guys keep and eye out for a similar statue with no gems...thats it for now, Jill and Chris over..." Statue of a tiger with Gem eyes... Hild thought to herself as her thoughts wandered towards the lovely sapphire gem in her pocket. It was fairly large, enough to be some sort of decoration so it could've been possible if the gem she had be one of the tiger's eye. Hild here. I have a sapphire gem that could be one of them. The tick tocking of the grand father clock brought Hild back to the matter at hand. Well, here i go then. Watch my back. Taking slow steady paces, Hild walked cautiously towards the small sphere of light from the now dying burning paper before stopping right in front of the clock. Peering around the area, it was dark, but there was no movement or sound, just the clock and her breathing. I don't see anything too suspicious... i think its alright to come over...

As Chris and Jill headed back into the hallway, they got the response over the headset from both Steven and Hild, Chris decided to reply to Steven and Jill to Hild...

"Chris here, hope it didnt cause you too much trouble, were going to check something in the dinning room, will let you know what we find .....over!"
As Chris finished radioing Steven, Jill began to radio Hild...

"Jill here, hold on to that gem it might be useful as it seems the statue downstairs has some kind of trap on it if you try to remove the gems, something tells me we will need it to get the crimson gem for the other statue...over!"
as Jill finished Chris pushed the door open to the dining room and they both walked back inside, the room still filled with the sound of the ticking grandfather clock....

They both took at seat at the table for a moment while they looked over there surroundings and tried to remember what the "trick" was with this room the last time, and if it could be repeated....

After hearing his story, Mrcus said, "Story? Yeah, everyone does have their stories don't they. My mom was a professor of history in UIC, my dad was a soldier, served with 75th Ranger Battalion. He died over Mogadishu, back then Chicago was a part of a gang war, so we had it rough. You see, me and my older brother tried our best to get around the gangs, go to school, get an education, that whole story." As Marcus spoke, he noticed a zombie lunging at him. Without a second thought, he shot the zombie with his L. Hawk without even looking. "I have to gie credit to my brother though, he showed me how to survive in the hood, shooting, hotwiring, everything. He even taught me how to play a little piano. My senior year, I was walking home from school with my brother when some thugs came in and killed him, lost him to the streets. Anyway, after high school, I signed up and joined the Marines. Took part in Afghanistan and Iraq, I left the force after being promoted to Staff Sargeant, and signed up for RAINBOW, an international counter-terror task force, doing similar jobs that BSAA would later take part in. It was working with the BSAA that I met with Jill Valentine."

Stephen looked at Markus and when he came to the end of what he was saying he turned and wwalked away "just so you know" stephen announced as he pushed another door open "I'm not the kind of person who feels sympathy" Stephen announced as he walked through it and checked around, pointing his P226 in every direction he looked.

there was a long corridor and Stephen began walking straight forwards, slowly as to not leave Markus on his own.

"It seems we have something in common." Marcus said, following Stephen, and watching his back, "I'm not the kind of person who feels sympathy. I never personally cared about anything else other than my team and my objective. I find the only way to build teamwork is to get to know the other persons." He would actually stop talking after this, since he did not tell Stephen the rest of his story, like how he met with Wesker, and how he experimented on him uncounscious body, making him into something more powerful to Jill in case she were to be free of his control, and how he managed to escape his own confinement.

Marcus had however, kept calm since the fight with Wesker, he wanted to face Wesker again, both out of payback, and to end this nightmare that he has been living through.

At the end of the corridor, they found a door, opening it, he found the 2nd floor of the ballroom. "Whoever owned this place, must have been paranoid."

Stephen followed markus through the door into the upper ballroom floor and smiled as markus announced "Whoever owned this place, must have been paranoid." Stephen strode past him and headed up the room "yea, they must have been, or they just had way to much money to burn" Stephen announced jokingly "they could have at least gave it to S.T.A.R.S as a retirement fun" he added, hoping to make markus laugh and bring some humour to their current predicament.

As Jill and Chris sat at the table and thought about what the "trick" was with this room, Chris spotted a blemish on the painting hanging above the fire...

"I wonder" he pondered as he walked up to the painting and pulled his brass lighter out of his pocket and knelt down to light the fire...

The fire burned brightly, the heat from the fumes travelling up the chimney pipe that began to melt away at the painting and a small key dropped from the subsequent hole that burned through the painting...

"Bingo" he announced as he grabbed the key and walked over to the clock, putting the key in the grandfather clocks wooden casing and turning it, the clock began to chime before it stopped ticking and slid to the side, revealing another secret compartment...

On closer inspection of the compartment, there was a switch inside, Chris moved to press the switch but Jill grabbed his arm....

"Wait...you sure pressing that is a good idea?"
She quickly noted as she held tightly to his arm stopping him pressing the button...

"Hmm...I dunno, but if its anything like the first mansion....its worth a shot" Chris replied as he paused for a moment and looked at Jill..

"Ok, give it a shot" Jill replied and released Chris'es arm and reluctantly waited for whatever might happen....

Chris reached forward and pushed the button, a click noise sounded indicating that the button had triggered something and slow muffled wirring noise could be heard...followed by a clink of metal on metal and an eventual distant shudder which vibrated into the dinning hall slightly shaking the floor.

"Hmm...well something definatley happened....but where? and what?" Chris stated in bewilderment...

"Yea...guess were better off trying the middle door next" Jill replied as the duo walked towards the bottom door of the dining hall and exited back into the narrow hallway..

Eron stopped as she heard the song being played on an expensive sounding piano and stood and wondered too herself why someone would care to booby trap their own mansion. Some sick game perhaps? Or maybe it was incase of burglary or maybe this mansion was owned by one of the high ranking members of the Old Umbrella Corp.

"These sorta places make me feel glad to have come from the country" Eron chuckled to herself as she tried to find the counter switch to activate the door release mechanism. "Also sorry Kumi, I just wanted you to get some rest so you could be back to your game asap. Incase things turn ugly, which I have a feeling they will" Eron said as she heard Kumi's statement about not being completly useless yet.

Marcus chuckled at Stephen's joke, he had to, since the situation was a bit too tense at the moment. Stopping at the middle of the balcony, he said, "Irony is, the owner of this place was one Oswell Spencer, who was the head of Umbrella when shit started happening here." He then thought, I only wish that I knew something about it. Maybe I would have did something about it, maybe not." Marcus then headed across the balcony to the other side, opening the door, "Let's go."

Kumi frowned a slight bit, but wasn't overly worried. Well, Hild isnt ripped to shreds yet nor is she missing a head. I guess its safe to walk over by the clock. Relaxing slightly, Kumi slipped the torch into the lock on her shotgun with a nice audible click as it locks into place. Now, wherever she pointed her gun at, she could see what she was shooting. The grandfather clock was nothing out of the ordinary. Hild had begun brief checks on the thing, looking for anything distinctive. What do you make of this junk Eron? e called back. Three heads were definitely better than one.

Stephen followed Markus through the door and headed through the room, his P226 was pointing forward, the laser sight blasting through the dark, damp air of the room. "This shit is creepy" he announced as he stepped around a corner, dropping to one knee and pointing his gun "what the hell" Stephen announced as he saw three zombies around a corpse.

he pulled the trigger twice, killing the first two, and as he went to shoot the third, his gun was out of ammo "Shit" he announced as he ejected the mag, as he looked up again, the zombie rugby tackled him to the floor, it was moaning, Stephen grabbed the beasts neck and chin, holding his head away from his body "markus. . . . SHOOT HIM!!!!!!!!!!!" Stephen announced, although the last part was more of a shout.

"I got you!" Marcus yelled as he shot the zombie right in the head with his L. Hawk, killing him before it hit the ground. "You ok?" He asked in a serious mood, he remembered the event that changed his life.

The year was 2007, Team RAINBOW were sent into the Transylvanian Alps in Romania to uncover the missing stocks of the Umbrella Corporation. Marcus was seperated from his team when a trap door seperated him from the group, forcing him to continue on his own. Eventually, he came across a man with sunglasses and a black longcoat. Marcus said, "Who are you?" The man said, "I am a god. and you're no more of a waste of my time." The man turned around and immediately, Marcus opened fire, trying to incapacitate the man. But the man in black dodged with such speed that Marcus thought he was some guy in the Matrix. Before he even had a time to react, he was quickly knocked down by Wesker. Marcus, never knowing to give up tried to fight him in hand to hand combat, but not only did Wesker dodge all his strikes, he kept knocking the soldier down and beating him all over the room. Marcus started to lose consciouisness when Wesker said, "You seem like a tough guy, you just may be usuful somehow."

Zoning back to reality, Marcus said, "Here, take this." He gave Stephen his M4 Carbine, his ammo and a first aid spray. "You might want to be careful, fighting like that could get you killed you know."

Stephen stood up and patted off the dust that was on his jeans, and then looked at markus, then down to the blood on his uniform "Thanks man, that could have gotten messy" Stephen announced in a serious tone, before picking up his P226 from where it had slid away, and then slid a fresh mag into it, the barrel clicked back into position as the gun was reloaded.

Stephen then looked at the M1 carbine and smiled "Machine guns aint my thing" he announced as he holstered his P226 and then pulled his M32 Grenade Launcher off his back, "This packs more of a punch" Stephen added as his smile shrank into a smirk. Stephen the spun around and swapped back to his P226, and continued walking down the dark, musty corridor.
