Riku - Gay or Straight?

You know, to be politically correct, it's only a matter of time before Disney starts to incorporate Homosexuality into some of their productions.

Take Cinderella, for example. Cinderella has always been white, but around two years ago, there was a minor reproduction of Cinderella and both Cinderella and The Fairy God Mother were black. Most film studios are doing the same thing, so it's surprising that they haven't made something involving gays.

Hmm... a lesbian Cinderella story... That sounds kind of hot.

Think about it, Cinderella is a sexual servant to her father's former lover. After being told that she can't attend the royal ball, she is visited by her fair god mother who gives her a really sexy dress to wear! That night, she dances with what she thinks is the prince, but the prince is really a princess who disguises herself as a man. Cinderella prefers women though so she doesn't have a good time. The next day after loosing her glass slipper, the princess comes looking for her, and finds her. Cinderella informs the "prince" that she doesn't swing that way and the prince reveals that she is really a princess! And she rescues Cinderella from her evil step mother and step sisters and they go off to have a wild honey moon!

That actually kind of sounds like a hentai.

I find this little debate to be highly amusing. How could a Disney villain be gay? It's ridiculous. Wearing slightly tight clothing hardly constitutes homosexuality (although in some cases... >.>). Although no real evidence is given to either side of the argument, I find it absurd that Disney would allow such a thing to be exposed to young children. Although homosexuality isn't something to be clouded from youth, it's not something kids should so easily be exposed to.

I also doubt Disney will be incorporating the 'gay' trend to their games/cartoons. Although there's all that equal rights crap, I'd have thought the parents would have more of a say on the matter, concerning what their children should and should not be seeing.

In the future I wouldn't be surprised if they did put homosexuals in their movies or tv shows. Disney is a supporter of gay rights. They have a gay and lesbian week at Disney world.

But not now because they don't want to lose their main audience, children.

How can you tell? He doesn't seem to or even hint at having a love interest in the game. I choose no though, but it's never made known.

It's one thing presenting equality in their productions, but erotica is something that you will never, ever see with Disney.

Riku isn't part of Disney and he is NOT a villain :P

My Lord...
Riku is not gay, alright? In KH1, there are slight undertones that say that he may be interested in Kairi, though nothing is stated explicitly. In KH2, who has time for romance when you're staring down a powerful enemy like Organization 13 (plus he was stuck in Ansem's form; that definitely was a big downer to him).

What Riku wears is tame considering what Square-Enix has dressed some of its primary and secondary characters in. Can anyone say Vaan, or cross-dressing Cloud? Even if Disney is open to gay rights, that doesn't mean they're going to blatantly blast is all over the place, like in their games; there's still a big stigma on being gay in this country.

Riku told Sora in HH1, that whoever one the race would share the Palpa (don't remember how to spell it) fruit with Kairi. The legend of the Palpa fruit is that if 2 people share one, there souls and destinies will be intertwined forever.

I can't believe this thread is even open. Riku is not gay and it's a little childish to assume he is just because you didn't agree with his fashion sence.

=/ He is definitely not gay. I think he's very manly, actually. Even more so than Sora, and mind you, Sora's pretty damn manly to me. IMO, Riku far exceeds Sora when it comes down to being manly. Look at Vaan...his clothing seems a bit awkward, but I didn't get the impression that he's gay.

I think he is straight. Judging by his hairstyle, the way he dresses, and the way he acts, I think a lot of people (women mainly) would be dissapointed if he came out of the closet.

I actually liked his hair style. XD

But plain and simple though... seriously, there's no real evidence to say he's actually gay. Oh wow, a slightly smaller than usual top... >.>

Oh, did my post come off wrongly? I wasn't getting that I didn't like his hairstyle, I was getting at the fact that the poster was using his hairstyle as a means of justifying Riku's sexual orientation :P I loved his hair, too. Were you a member when I posted a thread on his hair? I was asking what members would think if I grew my hair out, like Riku xD.

No-no; I was following up on you finding it amusing. Just commented on me liking it, really. :p

And I might've been. Probably just too distraught by the thought of it on your head. XD

No, he competes to help Kairi in KH1 against Sora. This really creeps me out someone wrote this thread.
