Ami: Finishing off the Crabs

"I hear you!" Kuro yelled and started running towards Ami daggers, just as he got to them, Kuro got grabbed by yet another crab, throwing Ami daggers, Kuro started fighting off the crabs that caught him. Ami saw the daggers land just by her, but the crab was still in front of her. "Time to see you off once and for all" She jumped over the crab and grabbed her daggers back, she then called towards the crab, "Hey, time to take you for a nice spin!" on that, she summoned water on her daggers, juped and then started spining towards the crab, "Whirlpool" she called. she struk the crab, and killed it, just as she landed from the move, a screen appeared in front of her, 'Level Up' she jumped and punched the air, "Yes, a level up!"

Ami then stood up and turnt around, she saw Kuro killing off the last crab, "Kuro, you okay?"

OOC: Short post lol

Kuro | Damage Control

Ami asked if he was ok, Kuro looked at the top left of his screen, the crab barely took off 15% of his total health. "I'll live, these things didn't do too much damage to me, just be careful with that technique of yours, be sure to run after your daggers after you toss them that way you can pick them right up after the attack kills off the enemy." He offered the advice to the young twin blader.

He sighed to himself "Although, the AI seems alot more adaptive than the Beta, it read my moves pretty fast, so the boss might actually be a challenge."

Ami: After the Fight

Kuro seemed to look at something on his UI, and then replied to Ami's question, "I'll live, these things didn't do too much damage to me, just be careful with that technique of yours, be sure to run after your daggers after you toss them that way you can pick them right up after the attack kills off the enemy." Ami put her daggers away, and then replied "Thank you for the advice, I'll be sure to keep that in mind for the future." Kuro then took a big sigh, and then spoke again. "Although, the AI seems alot more adaptive than the Beta, it read my moves pretty fast, so the boss might actually be a challenge."

Ami replied "Wow, I had no clue that a game could adapt like that, my god these games are clever!"

Nanicci was deep in thought before deciding the forest was a good bet to do some grinding. It was then that she spotted two melee players finishing off a few crabs. They were an impressive site to observe, she'd always preferred to play backup to one with more upfront attacks. She began to make her way towards them, "Hey you-wha?"

The large crab grabbed her leg from behind and sent her falling face down in the sand. She reacted quickly, rolling over with both arms outstretched. Her shadow pistol materialized within the dark miasma bubbling between her fingers and it was then that she let loose on the trigger, never hesitating. the large crab lifted her small frame and thrust her about, sending her crashing into one of the hard rocks on the beach. The force and impact nearly shocked her. It was like she felt it physically, but she didn't. It was an odd sensation.

She stood to see four crabs she couldn't possibly defeat on her own. She watched as they cornered her against the rock before letting loose at the creature she had worked on earlier. It was brought down, but the others were approaching fast. She stood her ground, but it would have been much easier to run. There's no way I can fight this alone, she realized.

"As far as running off, we don't know you two. We only briefly met. We've never traveled with Rei before. We just met her. You two walked up in the middle of our conversation with Rei and butted in. I sent my member address because I don't know either of you and wanted to start a party. We came up to Rei because we don't play The World with other people too often. She was given the area words of where we were going. She can follow someone into an area after figuring out who she wants to form a party with. Either one of you could've found out where we went after getting the member address or after talking to Rei. It was up to you. We went ahead because you were being rude then, and you're being rude now since we already registered for The Hunt of the God event."

Cecilly eyes began to screw up some at this comment and proceeded on a slight rant. "So let me get this straight here. According to you walking up to a group and asking them if they are doing a quest is rude or if they are going to do it? Asking for a third party member is then rude? So more polite matters is to slightly ignore those questions and send a friend invite to them and just walk off. Yeah I see the real politeness in there. Also being rude is suggesting a strategy to defeat a boss, yeah I see how all of this is being rude. From this standpoint with how your saying things it seems your being the rude one."

Raising her hands above her head she brought them down to rest on her waist now and just shook her head.
"Anyways this is pointless. Really over something as simple as this. Hey Lex why don't we go do something else till this event starts." Lex looked around a bit nervously at what was going on, while he did agree with his sisters statements he didn't want to cause a scene right in town. So he just looked over to Rei and waved and tailed off,"Look we will send you our member addresses since we didn't get around to doing the quest. I did it with Ceceilly here way back when we first started, don't think we got anything good though. But hey we will help ya out if ya want us to, and if anything good drops this time maybe we can do it again. I never registered for this myself so it leaves it open to do again if you would care to. Anyways were gonna head off to the arena and see if we can get a little more combat practice in before the even, but yeah. So if ya want us to join give us a shout when your heading out and we will come join ya."

With that being said Cecilly and Lex walked off with Lex waving to Rei as they were walking off, and as they were getting further away Lex spoke to Cecilly.
"I agree with you sis, those other two seemed to be way to annoying, I don't get what their problem is. But you know if she wants us to help her, were gonna have to deal with those two and more so once this god event starts." Cecilly just grunted and gave a short reply "Yeah I know, doesn't mean I need to be happy about. Just hope the even will be nice and short, the less we have to deal with those two the better."

Rieko looked at Rei and replied, "That sounds like a good idea. We can go ahead and register right away. Coco has probably done that quest already, but I haven't." Coco started to speak up, "I've already done it, but I can still come along and provide support. We could find something each of us could use." Rieko and Coco started walking away towards the Quest Shop. Rieko turned to Coco and asked, "Did you really complete that quest already?" Coco replied, "Yeah. I did it by myself, but I didn't find many items. It's probably because I went solo." Rieko stepped up to the counter to register for Marks of Prophecy quest. It gave him Ancient Prophecy Stone as the area words to add to his list. Rieko and Coco started running back. They didn't even take time to stop anywhere. Both of them wanted to go as soon as possible. Rieko said to Rei, "I got the quest. We can go anytime you want."

Gozen Matabei

All nice and shiny

As the crabs began to pile up, Matabei was getting more and more in sync with her old play style. Each follow up strike was becoming smoother and smoother until the chain combos she remembered were once again perfected. Once too many times Matabei had left a game for a month or so only to come back and they had reset people's skill setup with some major game update or patch. Not this time, however. It was good that Kuro had taken charge of instructing the newer players. It wouldn't do if Matabei failed at combat herself. This small respite gave her enough time to clean her act up. By the time she was satisfied with her form, Matabei returned her attention to her group.

Wow, I had no clue that a game could adapt like that, my god these games are clever!"

Indeed. Even if you are of high level, if you do not pay attention, it is quite easy to be overcome by foes.

"Hey you-wha?"

As Matabei made her way back towards her party, a voice called out from the bushes in which she noticed a young girl. Just as she was about to wave at the newcomer, several crabs from within the sand emerged and ambushed the player, quickly tripping her over and putting her at a disadvantage. Given the way she was moving, it was also likely that she was quite new at the game. Without hesitation, Matabei dashed away from the group and to the aid of the gunner. With great strides Matabei just managed to get to the advancing crabs and with one hand, Matabei grabbed the front of one crab from behind and pulled herself forward while her other swiped sidewards at the other. It was a shallow cut and did not take it out, but it was enough to discourage it from its charge.

Well now, that was a close one wasn't it?

Eile Mura: Sighs

After hearing Kuro's answer, Eile was not amused at the turn of events. But nothing could be done at the time as she got out of the water. Heading back onto the beach, Eile watched Matabei run away from the group. Eile ran after her and saw her take out some crabs. Then she saw a lady on the ground as she ran up to Matabei. Looking around the area, no other crabs came into the area as Eile relaxed a bit to check in with Matabei.

"Hey Matabei. Is she ok?" Eile asked looking from the samurai looking woman to the lady on the ground.

Kuro & Alicia | A Meeting at the Beach

Everyone seemed to have moved towards the jungle to aid a player who happened to get caught in the battle. "Hmm, didn't think anyone else would find this place so soon. Oh well Lets go help out Alicia" Kuro yelled out to her.

Alicia finished off another stray crab, they seemed to have thinned out some finally, Alicia sighed at Kuros words and whispered to herself. "Sure... Don't ask if I'm doing ok or anything" She puffed her cheeks slightly as she walked over to the bushes with Kuro.

When the two reach the others in the bush they see a young girl on the ground most notable is her wings on her back. "Wait... Did you guys just save a Fairy?" Kuro spoke, he squats to get a closer look at the girl, she was a player and not a NPC but wings are such a rarity in the game this early on. "Hmm so shes not a npc, surprising to see someone stumble in on this map..", Alicia nudged him "Sheesh give her some room to breathe, I doubt she was expecting to get attacked and probably still a bit unnerved by it." He said to Kuro grabbing him by his collar and tossing him onto his butt behind her. "You always gotta be rough on me" He sighed.

Rei
~Marks of Prophecy~

// Rei watched as the twins walked off in a different direction slightly disgruntled. These two pairs were like oil and water - they just didn't seem to mix too well.
'Well, they don't really have a choice but to cooperate with one another, so we might as well get used to the idea now.'

Rei
went over to the Quest Shop and saw that Rieko and Coco had already registered for the "Marks of Prophecy" quest. Rieko turned over to her and said,
"I got the quest. We can go anytime you want." Rei nodded in confirmation. "Sure, I'm ready to head over as well. I'm going to contact Lex and Cecilly to let them know that they can meet us at the entrance over there if they'd like to join."

Hey Lex, we're heading over to Ancient Prophecy Stone now for the quest. If you and your sister would like to join us, meet us over there. I think it'd be a good way for us to prepare for the event.

P.S. We could probably use your help.
x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

"Alright, sent. They may meet us over there, so let's head out now."
Rei went over to the Gate, input the keywords, and teleported within seconds.

~Ancient Prophecy Stone~

Plains_by_hwango.jpg

Rei was teleported into an expansive field with tall shrubs of yellow grass grown all throughout the plains. Even the sky had a yellow/orange hue. Further north, she could see a circular formation of stones. 'So that must be where the Stone Guardian spawns...' She turned to Coco and Rieko to confirm that they had also teleported along with her. "Alright, let's head on over there," Rei said while pointing in the direction of the stone formation. There did not appear to be many monsters within the vicinity, but one could never be too sure...

Even after running several hundred feet up north, the stones still seemed so far away. Just then, a troupe of rock-like monsters called "Stone Familiars" appeared and surrounded the trio. They bashed the ground in an almost menacing fashion.
"They don't look too friendly, huh...?" Rei took out her grimoire and positioned herself for battle. "Well, I think we can manage on our own."

Rei casted Duk Lei on the three of them, followed by Rue Kruz. A sharp blast of water hit the Stone Familiars, causing them to stagger back. Nearly half of their HP was depleted, not to mention that it was slowly being drained due to the poison. 'It looks like I'm getting better at this! I won't steal all of the fun though.'

She turned to Rieko and Coco while shouting,
"Okay, you two! You're up next!"//

Anzu
Fun Enough Yet

Anzu broke off with much of the group for much of the fight, dealing with eliminating enemy crabs, taking it slow and easy so as to not to overextend herself fighting weak enemies such as these. Nonetheless, she proved herself to be a capable fighter, having been able to hold her own. Soon she realized just how far away she was from the rest of the group, and before they decided to leave her behind, began running back in their general direction. "Hey wait up!" Before she would even get close however, Anzu found herself surrounded by no less than 3 giant crabs. "Oh come on!" She screamed out, drawing her sword as she attempted to slide under her crustacean 'friends.' It worked, or so she thought as the crab quickly turned around and backclawed her to the side, knocking her and sending her dragged back a few feet from her opponent, yet she still held the sword in hand. "I guess three more shouldn't hurt." Anzu said, a serious tone on her face, and quite a far cry from her usual attitude, readying herself to counter and strike back at the enemy.

(OOC: I dunno where Nanicci being on the ground started but I'll roll with it :lew:)

The blur of characters seemed to appear out of nowhere to come to her aid, and they were more plentiful than she thought. She'd rested on the soft sand in relief.

Well now, that was a close one wasn't it?

"Hey Matabei. Is she ok?"

"I'm fine, I'm fine yo." she assured them. "I just got caught off guard by those stupid crabs."

Saying 'thanks' had never even crossed her mind. It was too awkward. Instead she just gave both the players a hard nod with a serious expression. It was an odd token of appreciation for saving her skin but it was without awkwardness. They were joined by two more as she stood, her pistol fading in black smoke. But hearing the banter made her unsure if she were to take them lightly. "I'll have you know I as one of the first to test this map yo." she addressed the one named Kuro.

It was true, she was given the task to gather info on most of the maps early on and had been gifted her set of wings, which she wore with pride, and as a bit of a fashion statement. I'd like to see you anticipate being attacked when your back is turned. Her first impression of this Kuro player was not particularly positive.

"But anyways I was going to ask you dudes if you were doing the event. My last partners left ages ago and I don't really have a guild or clan or any group really that can help. I'm more of a backup build in my skillset."

Rieko and Coco watched as Rei took lead. The two followed with a skill combo after Rei's attack on the Stone Familiars. Rieko called out a skill, "Rue Juru." Coco responded by saying, "Lucky Stars." Large columns of ice formed into the air and crashed into their enemies. Then, everyone in the party had their movement greatly increased. The Stone Familiars fell onto the ground. It took only two ice skills to bury them. It seemed that Rieko and Coco have been playing longer than Rei as a level up sign showed above Rei's head.

Rieko looked at both women in the party and asked, "How did you do this by yourself the last time?" Coco replied, "Oh. I stole a bunch of potions off some dead guy. I kept running around drinking potions. The fun part was watching my level increase because of the level difference in the area. I felt like I was cheating." With their movement increased, the three could run much faster across the field. There was no enemy in sight. They came closer to the stones, but they were stopped by an animal that looked like a yellow and orange chicken. Coco said to the rest of the party, "That's the Gold Bird! Rei, hurry and kick it!" Rieko and Coco started running at the Gold Bird with their arms outward. They looked kind of silly. Coco had tears in her eyes as she was so happy to see the Gold Bird lucky animal.

Kuro & Alicia | A New Ally

"Hmm I see so you were a beta tester too then, we seem to be running into quite a few lately." Kuro jested, The girl seemed to give him a dirty look of sorts, like usual Kuros first impression wasn't a good one, he sighed.

"Don't mind him, he can be a tad of a ditz but hes a good person" Alicia chimed in with her own little note.

"But anyways, yeah we're doing the event, that's actually why we're here, we're training our rookies to make battle second nature, the constantly spawning monsters are good training and we are about to head off to take on the area boss for some experience and a special item it drops, well once all of our members get here, but yes you're welcome to join us umm.." He stopped since he didn't even know her name yet regardless he sent her a party invitation. He also wondered what class she was, not many classes have such a unique skill.

Lex and Cecilly were on their way towards the arena when Lex received a message from Rei as follows.

Hey Lex, we're heading over to Ancient Prophecy Stone now for the quest. If you and your sister would like to join us, meet us over there. I think it'd be a good way for us to prepare for the event.

P.S. We could probably use your help.

"So looks like she wants us to come along sis and help out some. We said we would already go but I still don't like the prospect of dealing with those other two anyways."
Cecilly just gave a nod of her head and shruged her shoulders "Well looks like will have to deal with it, sides you did say she could use our help. Plus she is on of the few who wanted to stick around us and in return to stick around, so let's try and deal with those two. So where did you say she wants us to meet up, that quest area I did a while back right?"

Lex just gave a nod yes as they walked back towards the gate to imput the words "Ancient Prophecy Stone"
and with that they were whisked off to a new area in an instant, the sky had a sun setting hue to it and in the distance the saw a stone monument which almost resembled stone hedge in a way. Both looking around they were trying to find the three they were supposed to meet. "So where do you suppose they are, doesn't look like they are close by right now maybe they are near the stones."

Cecilly once again just gave a simple nod and they started to run towards the stone monuments as they got closer they saw three figures in the distance and what seemed to be a fast moving small object. As they got closer they were able to make the figures out as Rei and the other two whose names they could not recall, and the small object was a lucky animal which looked like to be the gold bird. Lex let out a quick shadow self to try and help catch but as both he and his shadow closed in and were going to kick it, it quickly changed direction and ran to the right of them. This caused Lex to crash into his shadow self and the lucky animal to escape. Getting back up with his shadow self disappearing Lex rubbed the back of his head and let out a slight curse.

"Ehh guess were a bit late to the party, sorry for letting the animal get away. Also arena was closed due to the event upcoming so I guess this event here will be a good way to help us unwind, so you guys ready to go to the boss, or are we a bit to late in that regard?"

Coco saw the other two heading up and missing the lucky animal. The Gold Bird ran off across the field. Coco said to Lex and Cecilly, "You two came at the right time. There's nothing out here." Coco walked into the middle of the group and said, "Lucky Stars." Now, all five of them had their movement greatly increased as gold stars fell over everyone. Rieko addressed the party, "Let's run right through this boss." Coco looked up at Rieko. She said to him, "I'm in the mood to get some dinner. Talk to me later." Rieko looked back at Coco. Then, the two started running towards the stones. Coco was relieved that the party was now five people. Rieko was happy because he started to think about ordering food.

Rieko and Coco got closer to the stones. It reminded Rieko of some of the areas in South America. As they approached, the ground began to shake. The stones began to sink a little into the ground as other stones started bursting out of the ground. The stones started to form into the Stone Guardian, the boss of the quest. An inner amber light was shining from the heart of the monster. Stones were grinding together forming arms and legs. It stood about three times the height of Rieko and Coco. Rieko took another look at Coco. He asked, "How many potions did you loot off that guy when you did this?" Coco laughed and replied, "49." He didn't bother to ask her if she had any left. Coco had a habit of trading items to a lot of people in town.

OOC: Moving this along so we can start the battle with Skeith.

Kuro & Alicia | Adventure Cut Short

Whilst everyone was helping the player a announcement rang across the games server.

Attention All Players of "The World", The "God" Event will begin shortly, due to this all players signed up for this event will be force teleported to the area, If you wish to leave at any point in time please use the Chaos Gate near you when you spawn.

"What... Why didn't they notify me first..!" Kuro thought to himself but before he could open his menu he and the others were forced to teleport to the event area.

Within a few moments they materialize within a large dark dungeon, seems like it was underground, behind them was the Chaos Gate so anyone with cold feet could leave, the air about the dungeon seemed different than most, the area may have had special effects.

Epitaph Dungeon Theme -

The Areas theme played loudly, it echoed throughout the large dungeon which was strewn with monsters down a straight pathway to the boss room, a test of endurance it seemed.

"Well.... This looks to be a hard fight, a straight B-line to the boss if we get past the monsters, and it looks like quite a few people are here..." Kuro said to himself

"Wow... This looks alot harder than I thought it'd be! Will we be alright? We didn't get much practice to fight and we don't know what the boss will be like..." Alicia commented she was shaking a bit from how real and scary the dungeon looked compared to the place they were just in.

~Ryoku
A Legendary Battle~

Ryoku was back from his 3 week long vacation, but due to outside issues, he couldn't log on The World until now. He had a few things to situate first, so that they wouldn't post problems later on, should he had chosen to ignore it.

Going through the log-in screen again, Ryoku hovered on an empty space, with the giant Log-In board that waited for Ryoku to speak his credentials.

"ID - RyogaSaito. Password....Hayabusa"

The words, *Welcome Back, Ryoku*, immediately appeared once his log-in information was validated. From there, The World started to reveal itself once more to Ryoku, as the giant gate he was familiar with rose from beneath him and allowed passage into Arcadia. "Alright World, I'm back."

Everyone who had Ryoku as a friend would notice that their player menu would be blinking, to notify them friends have logged in, specifically, Ryoku himself.

As soon as Ryoku set foot in Arcadia, he found himself force teleported into the Epitaph Dungeon, where Skeith and "The God" event was to be started. Ryoku gave a wide grin. "Well now, this should be fun...Really funnnnn" he said, with the most joyous of voices. Like Ryoku himself, other players were teleported into the dungeon without warning and notification. He looked around for Kuro, and Alicia. But he couldn't see, since every square inch of the dungeon's entrance was becoming filled with player, after player.

Ryoku made haste and ran up the stairs leading to the Dungeon itself and scouted the area. Anyone who knew Ryoku would certainly see him up top. He waited, he was sure Kuro would contact him, or better yet, meet him in person.

Rieko was waiting for the others, but the Stone Guardian wasn't going to keep standing there in the ring of stones. It charged at Rieko and Coco, and its fists collided with the ground. The shock waves knocked back the two while causing damage. Rieko quickly stood up as Coco got back to her feet and charged the Stone Guardian. She immediately started firing off scythe skills. Rieko fired off a skill to put the boss to sleep. Then, he sent columns of ice crashing down as Coco continued swinging her scythe. Lotus petals were floating in the air around Coco as she ran around and attacked. The ring of stones were covered in frost as graphics of ice were scattering everywhere. Rieko sent columns of ice again at it. It wasn't a very hard boss, so it came crashing down as boulders of ice rolled around the ground.

The Marks of Prophecy quest was over, and the five of them received the experience since everyone was present. Rieko saw a window pop up. It said that there were items received for the boss fight. Once Rieko was back in town, he can complete the quest at the Quest Shop by signing it was completed. He turned to Coco and said, "That should be the end of it. Next time, we should go for The Black Wolf quest."

Coco started yelling out, "Oh no! My door's ringing!" Her character stood still. Rieko picked up his phone and called to order food while waiting on Coco. He ordered for his place. Rieko sent a message in game to Coco. It said, "I ordered food for my place. We can continue there." Coco shortly came back to the game and told him, "Hey! That was my mail lady! It took four days to get my outfit delivered! I'll be right over."

Then, an announcement was sent to everyone about the upcoming event. Coco logged out to meet Rieko at his place. Rieko was about to run over to the others, yet the event forced everyone who was registered to be sent into the event area. Rieko didn't expect the event to begin like that. When the teleportation rings fell over his body, he was sent near stone steps. The area was a cave with other players around. It was a corridor leading into a large doorway with the Gate on the other end. Monsters were crawling everywhere. Rieko left the door unlocked since Coco was coming over in real life. After waiting for a little bit while laying down, he could feel a woman suddenly sitting on his legs. She said, "Hey. I'm starving. Wait until I log back in." Rieko replied, "The delivery person should show up soon."

~Enter the "Hunt of the God" Event~

// Rei's reflexes seemed to be too slow considering how quickly Rieko and Coco killed off the Stone Guardian. She had assumed that the quest's boss would pose much more of a challenge, but alas.
"Hey, great job you two-" Rei was unexpectedly cut off by an announcement regarding the "Hunt of the God" event. It warned players that they would be force teleported into the event area. Before Rei could talk with the other party members, they all materialized with the sweep of the teleportation rings.

xxx-xxx-xxx

Rei arrived in a dark and dreary dungeon. Even the music left her feeling a bit unsettled. There were other players nearby - some appeared to be very experienced, while others seemed to be mere beginners. 'I guess I don't feel so out of place now...' she thought to herself. 'Maybe I should regroup with the others just in case.' Rei looked around the vicinity in search of any familiar faces. She spotted Rieko, but not his usual counterpart, Coco. She was sure that Lex and Cecilly would be nearby as well.

She walked over to Rieko and greeted him with a slight wave. "It was kind of surprising how we were suddenly transported over here, huh? Thankfully we were able to finish the Marks of Prophecy quest just in the nick of time." Rei leaned her back against the dungeon wall with her arms crossed. "I think we should regroup again. The last area may have been easy, but this looks like no place for newbies to wander around in..."

Rei noticed a few "newbies" jumping up-and-down excitedly and chatting enthusiastically amongst their party members.
"Sadly, I don't think they know what they're getting themselves into." Rei said while gesturing to the beginner players. "Let's wait for Lex and Cecilly to show up. And I see that Coco logged out. Will she be joining us, or is she stuck with some IRL stuff to take care of?"

As she awaited his response, Rei glanced towards the long corridor of steps going upwards into the dungeon. Only time would tell what they could expect deep within the dungeon. The God dubbed as Skeith was within their reach. //
