[Role-Play] Epitaph

Rieko looked down the corridor and replied, "I ordered food while I was waiting on Coco. She doesn't live too far away, and she showed up at my apartment. We're waiting on the food. She should log in again soon. Aside from Cecilly and Lex, I think we should recruit others. I want to hit this thing with enough people that I won't have to worry about its skills. How about that man with the cloak?"

Rieko had his arms folded with his staff in his right hand. He was referring to someone he saw close by. The player was next to two women. One of them had a pair of wings on her back. Rieko started approaching the three and said, "Hi." The entire place was starting to have a bunch of players swinging at the monsters. None of the monsters seemed to be rushing at him. Rieko stood in front of the three. He continued while folding his arms again, "My name is Rieko. I'm searching for some people who might be interested in a group for this event."

Cecilly and Lex were getting ready to start an attack on the boss that appeared when suddenly the other two started an attack. While rash and without a plan it did seem to get the job done, shortly after the one known as Coco logged out and then before really anyone could react the announcement played and they were all teleported to the event area. It looked like they were underground with a narrowing path which led them with only one direction to travel. Upon entering Cecilly spoke up "Hey Lex, I'm gonna go look to see if any of the other people we might know registered for this even, be nice to have more company then that we can get along with besides those two while were with Rei." With that being said Cecilly left off to go look around this mass of people to see if there was anyone they knew in this mix, with so many people it had to be a possibility though she was unsure of her luck in finding someone in this crowd. Looking around it seemed like there were loads of new people seeming way to eager and Cecilly just thought to herself, "If they don't act careful they could easily get themselves smacked around in this event, and not be of any use to anyone." With that thought in mind she still walked around looking.

Meanwhile Lex decided to go and look for Rei as it would be easier to then group and when his sister found anyone, again if she did he thought to himself. Then he heard a voice that sounded very familiar
"Let's wait for Lex and Cecilly to show up. And I see that Coco logged out. Will she be joining us, or is she stuck with some IRL stuff to take care of?"
Taking a cue he spoke up "Well now don't let me and my sis hold you up on any account please. It just seems everyone here got teleported all randomly here. Might take a while for my sis to show back up though, she's looking through the crowd to see if she can spot anyone else we know to help form a larger group. So if we move around looking for her as well it may be easier, after all people moving through a crowd stand out more then people standing still waiting to see what's going on right

Kuro & Alicia | Reunion and New Players

It seemed like everyone was assembled to the Event, Currently the players are assembled and another message plays loudly which blocked out other players chats while it played.

"Attention.. Beyond the staircase is a narrow pathway that leads to the Area Boss Skeith, This boss is large and dangerous, the point is to work together with ALL the players assembled if you do not work with each other you may die. When fighting Skeith fight as if your life is on the line because it very well may be on the line.."

It didn't seem like a normal announcement due to the grim nature.

The Announcement ended, and a silence hit the room, some players had decided to leave due to the announcement but most stayed. Since it was starting Kuro and Alicia decided to head up the stairway and see what the monsters were like. "We're going on ahead you guys, we'll scout out the area while you catch up." They walk through the mass of players and see a familiar face at the top, seemed that Ryoku was back. "Oh Hey man! Glad to see you made it here!" He yelled out to Ryoku before resending a invite to him.

"Aren't you guys worried about the Announcement?" Alicia Asked

"Not Really.. I mean we're facing a god so its natural that the event would have such a serious tone to it, to weed out the weaker players..." Kuro answered back, although he wasn't sure if it was just a normal announcement since CC Corp isn't that dark with its announcements.

Eile Mura

Eile looked around the area as she was teleported to the event area. She ignored everyone while taking everything in.

"This place looks creepy." Eile muttered as a message popped up in front of her.

That message did not inspire confidence in Eile as she wondered loudly on the message.

"Do you guys know what that message means? Fight as if our lives is on the line? There's no way you can die in a game right?" Eile asked out.

OOC: Srry for my absence. Skipping a lot of back track interaction.

Gozen Matabei

Gotta get out of AFK mode

Attention All Players of "The World", The "God" Event will begin shortly, due to this all players signed up for this event will be force teleported to the area, If you wish to leave at any point in time please use the Chaos Gate near you when you spawn.

Matabei was kind of zoned out because of a small disturbance near her window, but after checking it was nothing, a large "in-your-face" message popped up and she was not at the beach anymore. Instead, Matabei stood in some dank looking cave with some rather ominous choir music playing in the air. However, there was not time to dally about. Her little afk stint meant she has lost track of the people she was with. In fact, she was mostly alone at where people were warped in.

Ah, crud. I am so behind!

With her feet pounding away, it wasn't long till she actually reunited with the bulk of the quest goers. In fact, she caught sight of Kuro and Alicia, which was good. It meant she could coordinate better with people she at least knew a bit. Before she could actually approach and greet them, another message was announced, this one a bit more grim.

"Do you guys know what that message means? Fight as if our lives is on the line? There's no way you can die in a game right?"

Matabei crept up to Eile and gave a slight push accompanied with a loud BOO!

BOO! Ahahaha.... SUCCESS!

The giant girl laughed heartily with the biggest grin plastered on her face, completely proud of her childish prank.

Heya guys. Sorry for dazing out abit before. Something happened. In any case....that message... is a bit dramatic, don't you think?

While she say that, Matabei wasn't too worried about it. "Take life as it comes"is something she lived by and if there were some obstacles that popped up later, there was no use moping over it. That was why she was still so chirpy.

Rieko's eyes turned to the left at Rei after the announcement. Some people were going to the Gate after deciding to quit and maybe try the event later. Rieko said to Rei, "I guess that it's time for me to be the fearless leader. Coco logged out right after the first announcement, but she could hear what this one said since she's sitting next to me." Rieko turned around and started walking towards the doorway. The walls appeared to be damp with light sparkling across the dungeon. The corridor looked a little darker as Rieko got closer to the end. Rieko was the first person to step through the doorway.

In real life, Coco was getting herself settled at Rieko's apartment. She changed into shorts and a small shirt to get herself conformable. Her new M2D handheld and visor that she got earlier in the week because of Rieko was plugged in and turned on. The one that Rieko was testing was already given a pass, so many new M2D handhelds were being distributed to stores. She answered the door as she could hear the delivery person knocking. She payed for the food with the money that Rieko left on the counter. Then, she put the food down near Rieko and sat on his legs again. She didn't want to miss anymore of the action.

Rieko was standing in another part of the area. Teleportation rings appeared as Coco logged in. The event registration put her next to Rieko. Coco's scythe that looked like a flower opened and formed a scythe blade again. Coco said while giving a small dance with her arms spread outward, "It's me, Coco! I've come back from the starry heavens to save The World!"

Anzu
God Hand: AFK Edition

Just as she was about to strike out at the enemy crabs, she would find herself teleported to a new location, a dark, damp cavern, with the Chaos Gate behind them. It was actually at that time that she finally caught up with the rest of the party.

Attention All Players of "The World", The "God" Event will begin shortly, due to this all players signed up for this event will be force teleported to the area, If you wish to leave at any point in time please use the Chaos Gate near you when you spawn.

"W-Wha?" Anzu said perplexed about all this. She was not sure how to perceive this, but she was not willing to back out now.

"...Well, that's depressing." Anzu announced, saying that so the rest of the party would hear, especially in response to Matabei's comment. "Still, I'm pretty stoked to do this. To take on the Area Boss, I think if we work together we can beat him!" She said confidently, pumping her fist into the air.

Eile Mura: Don't do that!

Eile sighed as she felt herself being pushed slightly. It was accompanied with a loud voice.

BOO! Ahahaha.... SUCCESS!

Eile jumped a bit before instinctively launching a kick toward the sound of the voice as she tried to bring her heartbeat back down to normal level. She rounded on the person behind her to see Matabei laughing a bit with a wide grin.

"Don't do that." Eile hissed before stomping off ahead of the group.

She just passed Anzu when she heard her say something.

"...Well, that's depressing. Still, I'm pretty stoked to do this. To take on the Area Boss, I think if we work together we can beat him!"

"Well that makes two people." Eile sighed as she walked down the path toward the event boss.

Ryoku glanced back quickly to notice someone shouting over to him. It was none other than Kuro, along with Alicia. He soon saw an invite, coming from Kuro, and accepted. His User-Interfaced changed and put the names of all current party members. Ryoku, Kuro, and Alicia.

Their Life Bars in green, and other essential information in Blue.

"Hoho, so you made it
" nonchalantly to Kuro, as Ryoku walked to their direction, nearly a foot's distance as he shoved and pushed his way to them.

Ryoku took another quick glance around the Chaos Gate, one by one, everyone he knew prior to logging out for his vacation were there. He saw Gozen, Anzu for the moment, but he was expecting to see many more, in the battlefield, or where they stand right now.

He responded to Alicia's comment,

"Naaaaaaah. The announcement is what kicks off everything. Think of it as the starting line on a race. Those prepared will finish, while those who are less knowing and fearful will struggle to keep up. This isn't a race however, this is survival. Of course it's not real, but survival is a must if you want to benefit in rewards"

With that said, Ryoku started to stray towards the long narrow pathway that eventually leads to Skeith,

He then quickly turned his head back to Kuro and Alicia,

"HEYY, You guys comin or what! Cmon"

Rei
~Wandering in the Caves~

// Rei watched as Rieko began to enter the dark and dreary corridor.
"Hey, hold up! Let's gather Coco and Cecilly first. Strength in numbers."

She turned towards the entrance and examined the crowds of players in search for the short, cyan-haired Death Eater and the considerably tall, red-headed Aura. The hair colors were distinct enough to spot in the midst of the crowd. Rei called out, "Coco! Cecilly!" Once she had gotten their attention, she waved at them to come over. With the five of them finally regrouped - Rieko, Lex, Coco, Cecilly, and Rei - they proceeded down the corridor and deeper into the cave.

xxx

Droplets of water dripping from the cave ceiling echoed as they ventured up the stairs. The floor on the next level was damp and slightly slimy, and it was unbearably cold. As they entered the narrow passageway, the fluttering of bat wings could be heard. Surely enough, up ahead were about five groups of bats flying around quite aggressively and unpredictably. "Alright everyone, let's not take them too lightly. They might actually be stronger than they look..."

Rei opened up her Grimoire to situate herself for battle. She casted her favorite combination of spells: Duk Lei followed by Rue Kruz. A strong blast of water hit the flocks of bats. The bats that managed to survive the attack were at least staggered due to the poison. "That should hold some of them for the time being..."

Suddenly, a loud rumble was heard from down the passageway. The noise grew louder and the tremors felt closer until a large enemy scorpion traveling on a set of spiked wheels rushed towards them, ready to strike with its long, sharp tail. The scorpion appeared to be a formidable enemy that could cause them a bit of trouble if not taken care of quickly. After all, there were still groups of bats to distract and attack them.

Rei casted her usual combo, but it seemed that her Rue Kruz spell was not as effective on this one.
'Damn it... ' Rei grimaced as she casted Dek Orv on the scorpion. "Sorry everyone, but that's the most I can do to this one... It should be slightly weaker now though!" She knew that her teammates would be able to pull through since their arsenal of spells and skills seemed to be far stronger than hers.

Rei wondered what other sorts of enemies awaited them further into the cave... //

((OOC: Just saying this now, you guys won't be able to open the door to Skeith till all the players are at the door, this will be a security measure for the God Boss'))

Kuro & Alicia

"Of course we made it, surprised you did though heh." He responded to Ryoku jokingly.

After Ryoku explained the 2nd announcement Alicia nodded her head slightly but was still rather unnerved that they would be so dark even in a game.

"I suppose your right.." She kinda hesitated to walk down the corridor.

Ryoku yelled back at them to see if they were coming. "Yeah We're coming keep your pants on! Let's Go Alicia time to take this event on!" Kuro spoke to Alicia trying to get her psyched up for the upcoming fight.

Many players have already past them and started fighting some of the weaker monsters of the dungeons, mostly Bats but down further seemed to be Goblins and even further down was Rock Golems from what the Area Listing, Kuro didn't think this would be too hard so he ran ahead with Alicia and Ryoku.

"The Path is narrow and has no dead ends..." Kuro said as they went down the pathway lit with Azure Torches.

"Yeah and there aren't too many monsters around either.." Alicia responded after which knocked a bat out of the air with one of her swords.

Rei's attack was followed by skills from Rieko and Coco. Rieko said, "Lei Rin." The Scorpion was hit with rapid balls of light from above. The explosion and damage knocked it back. Then, balls of light bounced off the ground. Coco said, "Take Me Out." Her scythe hit the Scorpion with three wide swings followed by an overhead swing. It died as a level up sign appeared above Rei's head. Rieko's eyes turned to Rei as he said, "Remember to run around a lot. I can target a monster and interrupt its attack if it targets you."

Rieko started to walk ahead. He saw what looked like a door at the end of the area. Coco ran to Rieko as three Goblins jumped into their path. Each of them were carrying staff weapons. Coco swung her scythe and hit all three. Then, two Goblins targeted Coco. Rieko said, "Ripped Mummy." The three Goblins were hit by a skill that caused sleep status. Each of them sat down and were swaying with z letters floating above their heads. Coco followed with a couple of swings and finished them off.

Rieko looked back to where they came and saw the others. He turned back again and found two Rock Golems and a Goblin running towards them. Coco said, "Dinner and Dancing." She swung her scythe at the first Stone Golem with an angled attack. She fired off the skill again to damage the second one. Rieko said, "Gambler's Call." He targeted the Goblin. It was hit by confusion status. It started running around everywhere and hitting the Stone Golems with its staff weapon. Then, it turned around and targeted Rei. Rieko hit the Goblin with his staff as it was about to run by him. It turned around again and targeted the Stone Golems. Coco and the Stone Golems were slugging it out.

OOC: How long are we gonna be spending in getting to the boss door? Or are we going to be bulldozing thru?

Gozen Matabei

The giant gate at the end

Matabei shrugged as Eile stormed off. The entire group also decided to start moving. The faster they got down the tunnel, the faster they could get at the boss. Since there was no level restriction for the quest, Matabei felt that it was probably a medium difficulty boss. If it wasn't, then the admins and mods would get an influx of complaints about half of the players being wiped without doing a scratch. Not willing to take a back seat, Matabei surged forward after Alicia, Kuro and Ryoku.

"The Path is narrow and has no dead ends..."

"Yeah and there aren't too many monsters around either.."

My guess is that the people in front cleared out a fair amount of them already. All the better. Less work to do... tho that does mean less loot and experience.

On cue, a small bat dove downwards and was rewarded with a quick smack to the head. Being the more physical class of the current group, it was her job to tank any damage that might pop up. While bats are hardly a threat, the developers arent stupid enough to make a world wide dungeon quest to be only populated with lowbie mobs and as expected, the party soon ran into goblins and the commotion from up front was getting louder. Goblin archers began to lob arrows and their melee compatriots chanted and charged. It still wasn't that threatening to any extent, but Matabei wants to get to the forefront of the quest group. She wanted to be part of the group that first entered the boss cell. Therefore, anything that is going to slow her down has got to go. In this case, that meant using her current momentum to front kick the closest goblin in the face and keep running through and carve a path for the others. They might have to deal with one or two goblins as they followed behind, but if they cant deal with it, then the boss is going to be worrisome.

Charge!

((OOC: More or less was waiting for everyone to make it down the corridor but I suppose its about that time and small bit of godmodding on my part nothing tooo bad :P. ALSO This will be a semi long post xD))

Theme music -

Kuro & Alicia | Unforeseen Rage!

Kuro and the rest of the parties assemble at the large gate, the words on the gate say "Only when all are assembled, will this gate be opened", the players were talking amongst themselves while waiting on the players, it seemed that all the players have gathered and waited.

"Not too many players stayed, guess they either got scared or rather have spent their free time with friends.." Kuro said openly.

"Even so I guess we can go on in, no more people are coming." after which Alicia touched the door.

Once her hand touched the door, the writing on the door glowed a azure blue before disappearing and the door slowly opening, once it was partly opened the room was barely illumiated, azure torches are lightly lit on the rooms walls, the room itself is huge large enough to hold a large army, Alicia, Kuro and the parties entered the room, after which the doors slam closed.

"What the...!" Kuro looked back as the door closed this was a unorthodox way to keep players from running.

Once the doors slammed the rooms torches burst flames and illuminate the room in a bright blue color revealing Skeith, The being is quite large as expected, Skeith stands up from his throne and aims his arm at the parties while they're distracted by the door a odd looking bracelet with a large eye at the end appears.

"Don't worry Kuro, I'm sure we'll be fi--... before she could finish her sentence her body was pierced by odd streaks of ribbon like material, she looked down only to scream in intense pain, somehow this attack truly hurt her, the attack fades and Alicia falls to the floor her PC glowing a light orange.

"ALICIA!" Kuro yelled out while running towards her, he grabbed her and looked her over carefully, her HP was slowly going down to nothing, He tried to hold her arm only to have her arm brake off like a piece of fragile glass and disappeared.

"Kuro, whats happening...?" Her voice seemed like it was fading out and she sounded weaker every second.

"I don't know... I never saw this during the beta... or in the programs at all CC Corp never listed such an attack!" Not too long after her body fades out till nothings left.

"What the hell did CC Corp do... What the Fuck is this monster!" Kuro stood up and looked over at Skeith, it just stood there motionless like it was waiting for us to realize what it could do, a few seconds later another voice seemed to play, different from a GM or any Pre programed messages..

"You now know true death... Your masters know nothing of this world or what it has in store for you and "Your World". The voice was obviously female, but Kuro had never seen a Female GM listed for the game.

"I'll check on Alicia later hopefully she's ok... For now lets kill this bastard!" Kuro looked over to Ryoku, Matabe, and the others and spoke once more.

"Don't you guys dare die on me, we don't know what happens if we get killed by this guy!"

The battle has begun, A battle of survival.

Anzu
The Road to Hell

As Anzu traveled down the pathway, watching some of the other players fight random monsters, she saw the torches light in a brilliant blue flame, "Ah, cool!" She said, somewhat amused with the lights. It was on the way that she would find themselves attacked by bats and random goblins. While Matabei was busy bulldozing the crowd in front of her, she felt it would be wise for the weaker characters to take on the small fry, and leave the big boss to the stronger force.

It was upon arrival at Skeith's chambers that the doors shut behind them and her friends and allies. The stereotypical fact did not phase Anzu any, but Kuro freaking out about Alicia's dying did make her lose focus somewhat. Her avatar dying meant that it would probably be a challenge, and she would have to try her best at taking the bastard down for that. "If we die, we just restart don't we? I'm sure Alicia will be fine!" Anzu yelled out to Kuro, though even she doesn't know what would happen in such a scenario. She had never died in battle before, and she wasn't really willing to let this be her first. "I'm with you guys too, let's bring a God down!" She said, moving forward, charging forth towards Skeith, confident that with everyone involved she would be able to claim the victory.

As the Stone Golems and Goblin fell to Coco's scythe, Rieko walked passed and headed for the door. Coco followed Rieko until they reached the end of the area. Rieko and Coco walked into the next room of the dungeon after they saw one of the other players opening the door. The design of the room seemed a little different than the rest of The World, and it had polygons floating in the air. Rieko noticed the data was different too. They stood ahead of the other players. When Skeith used a skill, ribbons of data flew between Rieko and Coco and hit one of the other players. Both them looked at the ribbons as they flew by nearly hitting them. Rieko shouted, "The Grand Kudan! This is what he was talking about! Everyone, scatter! Keep it changing its targets!" Coco looked at Skeith and said, "For the tiny moose!"

Rieko ran to the right as Coco ran to the left. They kept their distance from Skeith and wanted to make sure that the boss would need to turn away from other players if it was going to target someone else. Rieko was betting that timing attacks while paying attention to its targeting will keep it randomly choosing other skills. Coco fired off a skill first and said, "Lucky Stars." Everyone in the group against Skeith had their movement greatly increased.

While standing at the far end of the room, Rieko knew he was going to need to hit Skeith from a distance. He held out his staff and said, "Lei Rin. Rue Juru." Rapid balls of light fell from above followed by columns of ice. Frost began to form around the area where the boss was standing. Coco followed with a skill she hasn't used for a while and said, "Hey! Stop Looking at Her!" It was an attack from the air with two swings and a power swing.

When Lex and Cecilly were pulled into the room they couldn't help but be a little amazed at the size of the being know as Skeith, he actually was quite a bit imposing. Both being slightly taken back as he stood up and more then a bit shaken when he launched an attack that caused the one known as Alicia to disappear. It was Lex who spoke first but more in a silent whisper so that only those close to him could hear, you could easily tell he was afraid of what just happened. "You know sis, I don't think we can rush at this thing like we previously suggested, I mean what the hell is that thing? What was that attack he just used? Then thinking back on the words it spoke something like masters know nothing of this world and what was in store for their world he looked at Cecilly and she gave a firm nod as if understanding what was running through his head. There was something now going on here, something beyond their normal way of understanding and there was no way to find out what "that thing" would be. It was obvious with it's strength that they couldn't beat it to get information out of it, and if they could kill the thing it was unlikely it would talk and tell them some information.

Ceceilly just gripped her fan tighter now frustration mounting in her as she unfolded her fan energy beginning to build up around her. "Enchant weapon, Fire." She shouted as she began to fire sharp sickle waves of fire energy at Skeith. "Why, why are we fighting now. What is this that we don't understand, what are you not telling us? Just tell us what we gotten ourselves into!" There was obvious fear and frustration in her voice and she barely had time to dodge as one of Skeith's hands came flying at her, impacting the ground just where she stood. Lex now being hot headed and more clouded with fear lunged at the hand and performed a cross slash slightly gashing he surface of the hand only to be forcefully knocked back into a wall as Skeith lifted it's hand up. "Lex" Cecilly cried out before she herself was flung into him by a second attack from his other hand. Both took effort to get up and at the same time were thinking that this was going to be a lot of trouble, more then maybe this group could handle. They had nothing to go on, what was thought to be a normal event now and possible beatable now turned in the other direction. His message left a feeling of dread and unease, this was now something unexpected.

Skeith | Battle of the God

Skeith was able to withstand and counter most of the players single attempts to deal damage to him, Before long the attacks began to annoy him, annoyed Skeith rose his hand into the air and a magic circle appeared above him, a scythe slowly appears out of the circle and into Skeiths hand, as soon as he takes his battle stance he lets out a beastly roar that echos loudly throughout the room.

Gozen Matabei

Stunned...

Alicia's scream was sent a shiver down Matabei's spine. It was scary.... very real. She has heard her fair share of cries of shock and pain, but it was mainly from frustration at being taken out by mobs. This was too real for her liking, particularly when Alicia turned into glass and shattered into pieces.

"You now know true death... Your masters know nothing of this world or what it has in store for you and "Your World"

The words hold a sense of heaviness. MMORPGs always were a bit of a ham in terms of scripts and dramatics, but in the context of the doors and Alicia, Matabei couldn't help but feel a bit of reprehension from the lines. The remaining players in the room began to hurl attacks towards the large boss. She couldn't tell if it did much, but it was enough to enrage it to the point of pulling out a gigantic scythe. It seemed to be getting serious and Matabei clicked. If it was up to anyone to take a hit, then Matabei was the one to, being the tank and all.

I'll take point!

Matabei set Yatagarasu into a defensive position and took to the front of the group before she was blasted in the face by the mighty cry from the God. Her hair flew back from the blast and Matabei could feel herself bend ever so slightly from the force, but she relented and held her ground. How long against such powers, that was a different question

Argh.... calm and collected Matabei. Calm and collected. Dont panic....

Anzu
Oh my God, this boss, you guys...oh my god this boss. :(

As Anzu made her move to try and rush the boss, but Skeith was a boss for a reason, shrugging off any attack she could pull of against him. "Stand still and take your lumps!" Anzu yelled out to the god, getting back into a battle stance. She would see a reason that taunting a god would be a terrible idea as a magic circle formed above Skeith, forming into a scythe. Seeing this forced Anzu to jump back behind Matabei.

Then there was a deafening roar, a roar with the force of a Severe Tropical Storm, even if Matabei was able to hold her ground through all of that, Anzu was neither tall nor fat, and had it not been for her party member, she'd probably be Anzu goop splattered across the front door right now, but it wasn't enough to keep her feet on the ground, and she had to stab the ground with her sword to even hold a chance of keeping herself from flying away. Just from that, Anzu was now starting to worry. "Oh crap...I should've kept my big mouth shut." Anzu said to herself, trying to get herself back to a fighting stance in preparation for the battle.
