[RP] Balamb Garden

Closing her eyes and drawing on her magic, Rinoa lowered her hands over the wounded student's chest. "Cure," she whispered quietly, not sure if that would be enough power but also not wanting to overload the poor girl's body with magic. She opened her eyes, watching the wound close very slowly, but not entirely. Moving her hands a little closer, she willed another Cure spell out, and the angry red wound closed further, resulting in just a red-looking scar. Pulling her hands away, she let out the breath she didn't realize she was holding and turned to Dr. Kadowaki. "Was that... okay?"

The doctor gave her a smile and nodded.
"That was perfectly fine, Rinoa. In fact, could I get your help over here? Your healing magic is stronger and tends to work faster than most medicines, if you wouldn't mind..."

Rinoa let a small smile come over her face before crossing the room and looking at the next injury. A gasp crossed her lips as she saw the mess the student's back had been reduced to. It somewhat resembled raw hamburger with green tinges throughout and much darker spots where it looked like dirt had contaminated the flesh.
"What... did this?"

Dr. Kadowaki shook her head, not having a clue.
"I don't know. I hope they can tell us when they've woken up..."

Rinoa placed her hands as low as she dared to the poor student's back, willing out a much stronger Cura spell, cursing herself for not stocking the higher levels at the moment. The dark red areas slowly lightened to a more natural looking pink as the magic took effect.
"I think the green is a bit of poison that's gotten into his system... you may want to try an antidote for that."

Before Dr. Kadowaki could reply, an announcement rang through the room. "This is Headmaster Cid. Squall, Rinoa, Zell - Please report to my office, ASAP. That is all."

Without removing her hands from over the boy, Rinoa shook her head.
"It'll wait, let me finish here first. Antidote if you have one?" Very gentling touching a fingertip to the injury, she poured more of her magic into the boy, another Cura spell being used while the doctor injected an antidote into his bloodstream using his arm. Crossing her arms over her chest, Rinoa watched as the wound healed more slowly than it should have, refusing to leave until she was sure he would live and be able to tell them what had happened.

After around ten minutes, his back looked much better, and his breathing was stabilizing. Rinoa tapped a finger to her lip, thinking, before approaching the boy's bed again and releasing a Regen spell into his body.
"That should speed the healing for a while... do you need me for anything else?"

Dr. Kadowaki shook her head, shooing Rinoa out the door.
"No, get going. The headmaster wanted you there at least twenty minutes ago..."

Rinoa smiled as she gathered her jacket and bag of healing supplies. She knew she was late, but this was more important anyways. She walked down the hallway in a hurry, turning and almost running to the elevator that would take her up to the office.

A ding notified her of the elevator's prescense, and she rushed in, frightening a student who was leaving.
"Sorry about that..." she said quietly as she pushed the button for the Headmaster's office. A short ride later, she was coming into the entry way, seeing no one. Assuming they had continued on without her, she ventured in further.

"Uhm... I'm sorry that I'm late... I was helping Dr. Kadowaki with a badly hurt student."

"I imagine you are all wondering why I've brought you here. I can see it on your faces. Allow me to explain. Since the unfolding of events several years ago, President Laguna, of Esthar, thought it would be wise to investigate the causes of that catastrophic time. This involved a plan to investigate all area's associated with the Lunar Cry - mainly Tears Point. Recently scientists from Esthar have stumbled across some...thought provoking information. I am not entirely sure what this information is as Laguna keeps his cards quite firmly to his chest."

He drew his breath and let out a large sigh,

"Which is where you all become involved. President Laguna has requested that you all visit him in Esthar, ASAP. Being that this is not strictly a matter of SeeD importance, I was initially sceptical. However, after time I realised. This is not a request for SeeD, this is a request for each of you, personally, due to your previous involvement and experience in this matter."

Wandering slowly around to behind his desk, Cid pulled out his luxurious chair, and sat down.

"There is one further detail, of course. While this may not be a SeeD affair, I see no reason why some younger candidates should not benefit from the experience of shadowing you. It will an invaluable experience for them, and who better to learn from, after all? Thoughts?"

Squall rubbed his head in frustration thinking he didn't have to worry about this stuff again but, They were the ones who knew the most about it so its understandable. He lowered his hand and as always looked at Cid with a Stern face.

"Alright Headmaster.. I don't see any other way around it. As for the Students coming, I don't mind it, there's a Student I need to help now at least till she learns to balance her combat magic.." He thought to himself that this might be a good chance for Kallen to learn how to balance herself in the midst of real combat..

A few moments later Rinoa comes into the room

"Uhm... I'm sorry that I'm late... I was helping Dr. Kadowaki with a badly hurt student."

"You're Late..." He said with a slight grin, he was glad she had made it though she had missed the details of the request.

((OOC: Sorry xD Forgot Rinoa posted))

Headmaster Cid's Office

The group had not had a chance to digest Cid's message before Rinoa entered the room.

"Uhm... I'm sorry that I'm late... I was helping Dr. Kadowaki with a badly hurt student."

He could hardly hold that against her, after all, it was her powers that were helping students in that situation. She was priceless to Garden, and Cid.
With a forgiving smile and a slow nod in her direction, Cid addressed Rinoa,

"Not to worry, Rinoa. I shan't go into the same level of detail again, I'll leave that for your colleagues. In a nut-shell, you have all been requested by President Laguna to visit him in Esthar. It seems his team of experts have made some discoveries at Tear's Point. Due to all of your previous involvement, he felt it necessary to involve you all. Rinoa, I imagine this could be particularly intriguing for you."

Cid was very aware that this could be a touchy subject for Rinoa. It was the events of the Lunar Cry that changed her life.

"Think carefully about your decisions, but think quickly, as he wants you all there by in a couple of days. This should give you enough time to prepare. Xu will be tasked with gathering your pupils. Leave this to her, please:

Mercy Kodashi
Robert Maisu
Bianca Mastai
Sera Koshi
Kallen Akauasu

Take them under your wing. Protect them, and teach them. At one time, they were like you. Fresh faced youngsters dreaming of becoming SeeD's. I trust each and every one of you with them. Don't let me down."

Cid looked down at the floor and slowly approached the group. He raised his head slightly and pushed his oval glasses back onto his brow. Turning to Squall, he placed a warm hand on his shoulder,

"I would like you to look after one more person, Squall. As my most experienced and talented SeeD, I naturally expect big things from you. A young SeeD by the name of Kaine McIvory is currently chomping at the bit for some experience. He reminds me a lot of yourself, at that age - so who better to mentor him?
I know I can count on you."

He turned on the spot and took his position back in the centre of the room,

"Any final questions?"

Watching the grey-haired boy from the corner of his eye, Alex saw him put something on his arm, probably some sort of medicine based on what he had done with it and the fact that it was a bit unnatural to have a crimson stain on the arm; it seemed he had sustained some damage from the fight while Alex was focused on a far more...arousing subject. It was even more obvious as the boy came even closer, obviously intrigued by whatever had caused the falling fruit.

“Yo, Peepin’ Tom! How’s the bark? Ruff I bet!!!”

Alex scowled again; that was just awful. Horrible, unnecessary puns that didn't even dignify a response. From his continued advance though, it seemed silence would not dissuade him. He was close now, only about 20 feet from the tree. It was tempting to answer something back, and just as tempting to get the hell out of there. But Alex knew that if the grey-haired boy hadn't been put off yet, he probably wouldn't even if Alex left. His hand rested on the hilt of Azrael, an itchy trigger finger tapping on it. He was up probably 45 ft in the air- not the tallest tree, but a good size to avoid the T-Rexaurs.

Once again he rose his hand to his head, "Its gonna be hard enough for me to watch Kallen since she pushes her limits too much but a rookie SeeD too... Cid you must love pushing my buttons" He thought to himself, dropping his hand again.

"Very well.. I'll take him under my "wing" as well." He Agreed.

"Any final questions?"

"When do we leave..? And what will be our Transportation Method..?" He Asked Cid Expecting the Train Answer..

+With slow steps, slight movements, he entered the 20-foot perimeter of the hallowed tree- his cheerful expression completely contradicting his footwork. Kaine was a resilient guy, and he never felt silence as something negative, something ignorant. Sometimes, people just had nothing to say…Or so Kaine thought. With his steps continuing, Kaine was now in the fifteen-foot radius- and a hint of a grim had set upon his face, not one of dancing glee but a hint of discomfort. It was not his shoulder-as bloody it may be- but instead, it was… acid reflux. Flipping back from that Big-ass lizard didn‘t help, not at all. +

“…Silent type then?”

+Inquired Kaine, as he coughed in an attempt to relieve the burn of acid on his food pipe, and his footfall halted. Ten feet away was perfectly fine for his conversation- especially seeing that his peer stood, not at his level, but forty-five feet above, amongst the birds. Kaine would make a nest of his own, as he drew that Greatsword from is chamber, and plunged it deeply into the crusty flesh of the planet- the soldier standing perpendicular for its master.+

“So, quiet guy… Who are you exactly? A SeeD? I can’t seem to remember your face anywhere…”

+His voice was loud, to reach the tops of those trees. It was loud enough to draw attention- something that he cared relatively little for- the huge T-Rexaur population would just kill themselves- an easy culling. At the same time, he dropped to his ass, relaxing against the width span of his weapon. Giant swords were worth more than compensation after all! ‘Course, Kaine already knew this well. Unbelievably, this was his usual thing since graduating to SeeD- training, then relaxing. Sometimes he would check into a lecture-brush up on his skills. However, more often then not, he just murdered some animals in this Pen. +

+Alas, he never got to go on many missions- and wasn’t for lack of requests. The main complaint was his people skills. He didn’t get on with people- total Bullshit. He could hold a conversation, and from the current situation, he actually attempted to socialise… SO maybe- just maybe- the SeeD exam team he was on had some incident involving a perverted interaction! But Kaine swore on his life, he was aiming for the pen in her pocket- not her ass! Even with this, he felt somebody had it out for him, had a chip on their shoulder. Why else wouldn’t he be going’ on missions? +

The grey-haired boy was even closer now; close enough that Alex didn't need to look form the corner of his eyes to see him. It wasn't unusual to see a student with a heavy blade, though they seemed more common in Galbadia, but it was now that he saw it as it was slammed into the earth. He was close enough now to see some of the mechanisms on the weapon; there was a reason why Galbadia has been pushing him to train in guns and sniper skills - he had damn good eyes. There was a reel, a switch, a throttle all basic hallmarks of a modified weapon. Apparently this guy knew machines as well.

Focusing more on the boy himself, Alex noted the garish yellow shirt he wore- in a tactical situation it only made him an obvious target, though not nearly as bad as Selphie. Scrutinizing the boy's face, he couldn't recognize him at all - it just lent more credence to the assumption that he was either new or low ranked.

“So, quiet guy… Who are you exactly? A SeeD? I can’t seem to remember your face anywhere…”

Watching the grey-hair boy sit down and lean against his sword, it became ever more obvious that he wasn't going to leave. Sighing again, he decided to humour the boy and talk with him, preferably without more of his ghastly puns.

"Of course you wouldn't see me," he started, his voice not a yell like the other's, instead being softer and more commanding but still managing to float down the 45 ft distance between them. "I spend most of my time here or on high-rank missions."

Mercy kodashi- Training area

At first she had thought kallen would be mad at her but the girl giggled off her first comment.

"Hi, You're uhmm... Mercy right? I think we have classes together.." that was right, Mercy wasnt particularly social, infact she had never had a conversation beyond "Hi, how are you?" and "ok see you later" with anyone in the garden that she hadnt needed to, she had been making an effort of late but sometimes it was still hard. She dragged herself out of thoughts just in time to catch what the other was saying to her. "And Squall? He's a Nice guy but it's hell trying to get him to open up, took me like a month to crack that shell of his open.. He's not really a knob in combat, he tends to think ahead and always keeps his combat partners strengths and weaknesses in his mind, if it wasn't for him that T-Rexaur we fought might of made me his next meal.." It was now that she started backpeddling, not being able to control what she had already said, she had just insulted the person that had saved this girls life. "Sorry, i meant to ask what hes like in a polite way i didnt mean anything by that" The girl just giggled. "Oh don't worry, He is a Blockhead outside of combat sometimes, I honestly don't know how he kept the Garden in shape" The girl offered out her hand, for a moment Mercy hesitated "Well anyways, it's nice to meet you Mercy, I'm sure we'll work together at some point so let's become friends." She was smiling while still holding her hand out Mercy chastised herself mentally and took the girls hand, shaking it gently "Nice to meet you too kallen, im glad to make a friend here finally"

Selphie tillmitt - Headmaster cids office

Selphie watched as Cid emerged slowly from around the corner of his office, almost like a ghost to selphie she had to hold in the cry of shock, as she hadnt seen him standing there until now, she was glad that noone had said anything bad about the headmaster. She Smiled politely as he approached the group of SeeD's and couldn't help notice that the headmaster was grinning
. "Well, it certainly has been a long time since I saw you all together. Please, at ease." its true, the headmaster had last seen them together on their return to the garden, since then he had seen them seperately quite a few times but never the whole group, this meant something special was happening. Selphie hated to admit it but she was hoping to go back on an adventure, She missed the travelling and some travelling was on TRAINS! selphies favourite form of transport. But she wouldnt just leave these guys, they were all like a family to her. She would have a much harder time leaving this garden than she had when she left galbadia.

Her ruminations were cut short as the headmaster had chosen to speak now, despite the fact rinoa had not yet made it to the meeting.Evidently this was something extremely important.

Selphie listened to everyones questions having none of her own that were any where near important. Thenm cid mentioned the candidates and she noticed that cid had really thought about this. Many people knew that kallen girl was training really hard with squall recently, and mercy had talent, but selphie wasnt sure if she would gel as part of a group, she was a bit of a loner... it took a few moments for her to realise that squall had almost been the same, infact he more or less still was sometimes.

"When do we leave..? And what will be our Transportation Method..?"

Squall seemed rather pessimistic about the whole situation, but Cid knew that this was just his way. Not everyone understood the Enigma that was Squall better than Cid. They exchanged looks before Cid gave him the answer which was expected,

"Train of course. The Garden is due to make a visit to Fisherman's Horizon later today and their train line is fully function once again; making it quite easy to reach Esthar. I trust this is OK?" Cid ended his sentence with a uncharacteristically cheeky wink.

As he took stock of everything that had just been said, he couldn't help but think of the current SeeD situation. Aside from various SeeD candidates that were being involved in this quest, there were several SeeD's that had not had the chance to push themselves since making that illustrious step up. It was through no fault of their own, there was nothing of interest the warranted SeeD attention - perhaps this could be just the ticket. Was this a dangerous mission? Perhaps not, but would it give the young SeeD's the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of Balamb Garden's history? Absolutely.

"Apologies, I have an addition to your briefing. Aside from our young, promising SeeD candidates, you will be accompanied by some of out freshest intakes of SeeD's. Of course you will not be responsible for their safety, they are SeeD's for a reason. For them, this will be optional. The ones that step forward will be the ones with ambition and drive. I will not be drawing up a list of people required to go, apart from the people in this room; and the candidates mentioned."

Cid smirked. He was pleased with this idea. In theory, only the SeeD's worth their salt would come forward - and these were the ones that Cid wanted fighting for him.

"Well, that was a lot to take in wasn't it? You're all free to go for now. Xu will contact you all with further details regarding time's and places. If you have any concerns before your departure, Please let me know."

His face suddenly lit up. He had forgotten that the SeeD's absent from his office would not know of this mission without being aware of it. Turning with a sharpness that wasn't expected from a man of his age, Cid grabbed his beautifully crafted fountain pen and stack of papers. Sticking his tongue out with concentration, he began to scribble.

"Zell! Please take these and put them up in as many corridors and rooms as you can. I know they aren't fantastically legible, but they'll have to do
!"

Zell Dincht
Headmaster Cid's office

Headmaster Cid finished had barely finished his briefing before he began to manically thrust several pieces of paper in Zell's face. Zell flinched backwards, partly due to surprise but mainly because he didn't fancy a face full of paper cuts.

"Woooooaaaahhh! You can count on me...I guess."

He took the papers and skimmed through them:

~~SeeD's of Balamb Garden, you have an opportunity to embark on a journey to the wondrous Esthar. I know some of you haven't had the chance to live the life of the infamous SeeD, but now is your chance. Learn about the Lunar Cry, experience a world outside of Balamb; the choice is yours and yours alone. Interested? Please give Xu your name and await further instruction.

Yours, Headmaster Cid.~~

Cid was never a blessed writer, but he was certainly passionate about the cause at hand. Zell was by no means a wizard with words, but even he couldn't help but look at the letters with a cringe on his face.

"Anybody that wants to come along because of this would either be stupid, or bored. Or both."
Zell thought to himself.

He smiled at Cid, almost with a slight look of embarrassment painted on his face.

"I had better go and prepare then I guess! I don't know about you guys, but I'm psyched!" Zell beamed at his comrades.

His enthusiasm was unrivalled. The buzz of a new mission was coursing through him and had no way of staying in. With a quick one handed salute to everyone, Zell grinned, turned on the spot and jogged towards the doors of Cid's office.

Quistis glanced over at Rinoa."You're late," she murmured with one eye on the Headmaster and one on Rinoa, though the half smile on her face made it all too obvious that she was joking. That said, she turned back to Headmaster Cid to listen back in on what he had called them for.

So Laguna had called for them had he? She didn't really think much of the man, but he had to have been calling them for a reason. He wasn't the type to waste time. Well, other peoples's time, at the very least.

But something else irked her. SeeDs were not sent on information gathering and idle chit chat, and they weren't called for such either. If he was so eager to meet them all for some kind of happy reunion, the resident would have taken leave and come to visit them personally at the garden. SeeDs were busy men and women. There was no time for them to go out and socialize. Not even with a president.

She placed a hand on her chin, adapting a thoughtful expression. Just what was it he wanted from them? Tch. Regardless, she hoped that it was important, for she had no issues with giving a president a verbal lashing for wasting their time. But regardless, this was their job for now. No doubt her classes and other appointments would be cancelled or taken care of by someone else while she was away.

"Will we require a change of clothes, necessities such as that?" she asked the headmaster with an aside glance, standing up and withdrawing her whip, wrapping the leather around the pommel and tapping the pommel itself on her palm; a habit she had developed lately. "Laguna may be a competent president but I doubt he's the type to take care of these kinds of things." She had no issue with being flippant about the man, even if he was in a position of power. "And do these trainees at least have the knowledge to handle themselves against monsters? I'd rather be a teacher than a babysitter, sir."

"Quistis, that decision is for you to make. Laguna has not given me a time scale for how long you will be there, but I do not imagine it will be long. Like I said previously, this is not a dangerous mission. Bring what you deem to be necessary, nothing more, nothing less."

Cid leant back against his desk, casually answering Quistis' question. It was her ability to consider every angle that make Cid such a big admirer. There was a reason she was an instructor after all.

"I understand your concern regarding the SeeD candidates, but I can assure you that they are a special group. They have received a high standard of training from the likes of the people in this room so any ability in battle should have been inherited from yourselves. Not bad, eh? That said, they are not yet the honed fighters as you all are, and as a result may need your assistance should they need it. That is your role as SeeD. You are not their babysitters, true. You are, however, their mentors and role models."

He peered over his glasses at Quistis as he spoke. Quistis always spoke with an authoritative tone, which Cid felt the need to match. It was important to have someone of her discipline on these kind of mission. Yes, there may have been a feeling of inconvenience that emanated from her, but Cid always knew that this was more due her being the ultimate perfectionist rather than a person who questioned everything just for the hell of it.

"Understood?"

Stephen was down on the floor in his room, performing press-ups, working out as he needed to grow Stronger all the time. After completing his set he stood up "This is Headmaster Cid. Would Squall, Rinoa, Zell, Quistis, Selphie and Irvine - Please report to my office, ASAP. That is all." boomed through the P.A system, "well thats typical" Stephen announced as he Exited his Dorm and walked through the corridors "Typical Cid, calling on his entrusted group of SeeD to solve his problems." Stephen announced as he strode "do not fear, once they know your power, they shall call upon you" a Voice inside Stephen's head rang out. "Diablos, remain calm my friend" Stephen spoke out loud "i am not the one who must Remain calm Stephen, am I" the voice replied almost as though mocking Stephen "If you say so D." Stephen announced smiling.

Stephen made his way towards the Cafeteria, hoping to have made it there in time to get at least one hot dog, waiting in line for 30 minutes, Stephen received a hot dog and headed towards the Garden index, he would wait there for a while to see where Cid's precious unit was going, Smiling Stephen looked around the area, a few seed and trainee's wandering around, but nobody too important.

Zell Dincht
2nd Floor - Balamb Garden

Bursting through the lavish doors of Cid's office, Zell ran towards the open elevator doors, tasked with plastering Headmaster Cid's poorly written note of recruitment all over Balamb Garden. He entered the elevator and furiously pressed the button for Floor 2,

"Come on, you piece of crap! Close!"

The elevator doors closed slowly, seemingly slower than ever - just to mock Zell. Eventually they snapped shut and moved down to the Second Floor.

"Finally! Let's do this!"

Zell leapt out of the elevator and onto the platform of the Second Floor. He hopped onto the polished hand rail of the stairs and slid down them on his backside. In all of the years he had been a SeeD he has never lost his juvenile spark. The handrails eventually ran out and left Zell on the ground; they were shorter than he first thought. Plus Zell was a bit of an idiot at times.

Without batting an eyelid the young SeeD picked himself up and ran towards the Garden index, in the centre of the corridor. It wasn't until he got up to the index board that he realised, he had nothing to stick the paper up with. However, he saw a young guy devouring a hot dog, standing at the board which posed a solution,

"Hey man, do me a favour, take this and find something to stick it up with! I'm counting on you! "
He quickly moved on

"AND ENJOY THAT HOT DOG!"

Zell knew that this was a somewhat lazy solution to what Cid had asked him to do, but time was not on his side and needed to get around the whole of Balamb Garden.

Sera giggled lightly when Bianca began fighting back against the large dinosaur, still keeping a grip on her Thundara spell she gripped the Naginata in her opposite hand and waited for it to be lured over the planks of wood. Knowing it wouldn't be able to move aside she sent her spell into the water, electrifying the T Rexaur while she dashed in, readied a Darkside attack and cleaved a down to up vertical slash through it's stomach followed by another Thundara spell through the fresh wound, destroying any internal organs unlucky enough to be near her spell.

As the beast began to fall forward Sera leapt backwards and moved Bianca back before the corpse fell on her.

"Well that didn't take long, did I spoil your fun my dear?"

((OOC: The blue font is goin’ to get confusing in the future in the roleplay(when quoting speech). I’ll change mine, being newer an’ all:L))

Of course you wouldn't see me,"

+Kaine head propped straight up,staring up to the heavens where this bird man stood. Kaine could make this guy out now- just about. Those bright lights above- be they the actual sun or something else- were strong, causing Kaine to squint his eyes slightly. Kaine barely blinked before the other finished his reply. Boy, could he talk loud!+

"I spend most of my time here or on high-rank missions.".”

+High rank missions?!! Kaine was already green with pure envy. Why was this guy allowed to go on high-level missions, and he wasn’t? That was bias, pure discrimination! He would raise it up with the board, he definitely would. Of course, this struggle was happening in his mind. In the real world, Kaine was relaxing back upon his sword’s blade, completely mellowed out in his exterior. The wound itself- surprisingly- had begun to heal up. Kaine had obviously mistaken a weak potion for a hi-potion. Even at that, he still looked a bit like an idiot, with that soaking shirt of his, and the bitter stench of potion.+

“Oh…Missions. You’re pretty lucky you get assigned… I still haven’t got my first mission- I was part of the last graduation class.”

+His reply lacked any sharp edge or daggers, it instead was tinted with that of melancholia. He was self-insulting- how could he not even get one mission in the last few months? It was embarrassing, humiliating- and partly the cause of his undisciplined manner. He was prone to… thievery. He’d snatch up things without even thinking, and it got worse when he was angry or upset by something. Luckily enough, he was actually talented. His pick pocket skill was at least 50! With a slight shuffle of his body-his arm locked- Kaine restarted the conversation, looking up towards the sky-guy.+

“So, what’s the mystery-man’s moniker?? What they call you??”

+This time, his tone was chirpier. Kaine was never one to look for sympathy, or to be pitied. He preferred to pave over things, rather than focus on them.+

Stephen took note of Zell coming down the stairs, before he came screeching to a halt next to him. "Hey man, do me a favour, take this and find something to stick it up with! I'm counting on you! " asked the Tattooed Seed before darting off in another direction causing Stephen to smirk "rude" Stephen muttered before Zell called back for him to enjoy his hot dog, Stephen took the last mouthful, chewed it up and swallowed it Quite rapidly before reading the Poster "what, Cid wants willing Seed to go up and see him for a chance to go to Esthar on mission, I'll give it a look" Stephen muttered before handing the piece of paper to a recruit, "hey, find some tape, and get this stuck up next to the index, It's important that SeeD members get a look at this" he announced to which the recruit nodded.

Striding up the stairs, he stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for Cid's Office, the doors shut and the Elevator headed up towards the headmaster's office, Stephen adjusted his Clothes to straighten himself out, and look more presentable as he wasn't in uniform, and luckily when thee Elevator gave out the ding to signify it had arrived at it's location, Stephen looked as neat as he would do. after the doors had opened Stephen strode through the reception area and into Cod's Office, taaking note of all the Members of SeeD that had been called earlier, Stephen walked straight over to Cid "Headmaster, i read the poster that you requested to be posted, what is the problem in Esthar, i assume that it is severe as Squall and the others require assistance" Stephenn questioned the headmaster as he pulled on a plain black pair of fingerless gloves.

“Oh…Missions. You’re pretty lucky you get assigned… I still haven’t got my first mission- I was part of the last graduation class.”

The last graduation class.... By usual standards that would have been awhile ago, probably two or three months. Either the world was unreasonably calm (unlikely of course) or this guy was near the bottom of the ranking for him not to have been on a mission. Given his skill, it wasn't a lack of ability that prevented him from going but probably something similar to what kept Seifer back - disciplinary problems. With that in mind you had to have someone with decent leadership skill to take charge of the mission and most of the SeeDs who qualified were high ranked so they had their own missions to do. No wonder that he hadn't had a mission. With that in mind, he was tempted to give him the chance; the boy's skill was at least 7th or 8th rank, good enough to go on some of the lower end missions Alex found himself on.

“So, what’s the mystery-man’s moniker?? What they call you??”

"Most people call me Al
ex," he said, casting his gaze back down to look at the boy.

"But some men around here call me Hyne as well," he added with a dark chuckle.

Oh yes, that was a name that echoed frequently in the dormitories. A classic expletive when you smashed a finger or forgot your books or your weapon, spilt a Potion on yourself, or a number of things but in Alex's case... it was usually a more pleasurable experience. He had no clue how many people knew of his exploits beyond the actual participants. He didn't know if the grey-haired boy knew by hearsay himself. It would be fun to watch and see.

Zell Dincht
Balamb Garden Hallway

Zell continued to rack his mind for the most suitable places to post Cid's message. Balamb Garden was always heaving with people, but it was about attracting the right kind of person, not just anybody. He took a second to collect his thoughts by leaning on the railing and staring at the tranquil fountains around the edges. He didn't have much time to spare but idea's were proving hard to come by. Whilst deep in though, he couldn't help but overhear a conversation between students,

"I'm staying well clear of the Training Centre at the minute. It's crawling with T-Rexaur's! You'd have to be crazy to go there out of choice!"

Light bulb moment - inspiration had struck Zell. Even if it was offered to him on a plate. The Training Centre was a prime location to get peoples attention, probably better than any. Going by what Zell had overheard the less-than brave student whine about, it was full of dangerous monsters at present so only the most dedicated of people would be there. Hopefully some of them being SeeD's.

He set off with haste towards the Training Centre and hoped the notice board in the entrance hallway had space. Weaving through the crowds, shoes squeaking on the pristine polished floor's, Zell eventually reach his destination and bolted towards the entrance.

"Yes! There's space on the board!"

Zell pinned up a bunch of Cid's notices, not realising that one would have sufficed. Whilst doing so he could hear the roar of what sounded like a dying T-Rexaur, emanating from the Centre.

"Well whoever's in there can obviously handle themselves. I hope they're SeeD's - I don't have the time to go and look though."

Remembering the success of his previous, somewhat lazy form of advertising at the Garden Index, Zell thought he'd go for the same tactic of doing the job slightly half heartedly in order to save some time. wandering towards the outskirts of the training grounds Zell cupped his hands around his mouth,

"Hey if there's any SeeD's in here, make sure you look at the notice board on your way out - if you make it out obviously, heh! Headmaster Cid has a proposition for you, ya know?!"

With a satisfied nod and an affirmative grunt to himself, Zell turned and left; kicking a large cloud of dirt up behind him as he sped away. For all he knew there was no SeeD to be found in the Training Centre, but in his mind it was worth a shot. Was shouting at the top of his voice across the centre the best idea? Perhaps not. But in the meantime it was the most effective use of his time.

Kallen Akaurasu

Kallen and Mercy shook hands, although Mercy seemed a bit nervous about it.

"Nice to meet you too kallen, im glad to make a friend here finally"

"Heh, me too I've kinda been a loner here." She smiled and let go of her hand, as she did Kallen heard shoes squeaking on the waxed floors of the garden the sounds came closer and closer.

When she looked over to the entrance she saw one of Headmaster Cids favorite SEEDs Zell Dincht, he ran over to the bulletin board and plastered a message on the board and yelled in the direction of the training grounds.

"Hey if there's any SeeD's in here, make sure you look at the notice board on your way out - if you make it out obviously, heh! Headmaster Cid has a proposition for you, ya know?!"

He ran off soon after he yelled that out with a smirk, Kallen decided to walk over to the board and read what it said..

Yours, Headmaster Cid.~~

"Hmm sounds interesting... Hey Mercy come over here and take a look!" she yelled out to Mercy.

She wondered if Squall and the others would be going to Esthar as well, if he did she wanted to go along since this was a good chance to prove her worth as a SEED Candidate.

"Most people call me Alex,"

+Kaine mulled this in his brain very quickly. Alex was normal enough for a boy or girl. It didn’t sound as strange as Kaine, or as weird as Ingus. It wasn‘t strange or bizarre. And then, he heard a dark chuckle,+

"But some men around here call me Hyne as well,"

+Hyne? Why Hyne? Was his prowess in battle enough to put others to shame? He had not even the slightest clue of its real meaning, or lewd nature. Kaine didn’t have much time for the goings on in the GARDEN. Sexually promiscuity didn’t factor into his plans; does a soldier really need time in the sack? Then again, Kaine didn’t exactly have a crew, or group of friends to tell him this information either. He told himself he was a lone wolf by nature. Kaine felt he worked better alone. But then again, wolves usually have packs, do they not? Or at least a mate. Nevertheless, Kaine simply believed it to be reference to battle. Ego’s were unbelievably huge in this mercenary GARDEN, in relation to fighting.+

“Oh, Hyne? Well, the people call me Kaine here… well, at least the instructors do.”

+Was he setting this up to be something of an announcement? Did he have some special moniker that students praised his abilities with, like “Blade Master”, or “The Tank”? Well, look at it this way: Kaine wouldn’t hold his breath for it. It was a cryptic introduction; the people didn’t call him Kaine, because they don’t call him anything. Kaine’s general relativity to his peers was next to none. They knew his name of course, but most would dive from a cliff to avoid conversation. Kaine wasn’t bothered by it. Or, he told himself that he wasn’t. He was just about to continue, and then:+

"Hey if there's any SeeD's in here, make sure you look at the notice board on your way out - if you make it out obviously, heh! Headmaster Cid has a proposition for you, ya know?!"

+ And it just so happens that Kaine was heading out. At that very moment. He did have to visit an Infirmary after all! With something of an awkward method of getting up, Kaine rolled over to his un-injured side, stood back up, reefed that Great-sword from its Excalibur-esque prison and coughed slightly, looking straight up at “Aerial Alex”. He gave his superior a friendly salute, speaking as he slinked backwards. +

“…So yeah, I’ll be catchin’ you some other time, Hyne man… Stay cool??”

+ And with that, he launched himself into a free-run. He had to get to that notice board first. Before anybody else stole his chance at wowing the judges, before another opportunity turned to dust in his hands. Kaine handled his weapon with finesse and delicacy unheard of with a great-sword, with the gauntlet hand. His arm swung the blade into its sheath once again, the leather piece of shit on his back. +

+He ignored and past any shitty little animal, that tried to throw its mediocre weight around, skipping past them without hesitation. He would probably re-open his wound, but he didn’t care. All he wanted was the prize. The Mission! +
