[RP] Children of Aether

Alyss hated this… she hated it so much. Half of her body was filled with the urge to jump through those roots and force herself upon the Witch, and the other half wanted to tear her apart limb from limb. And with each passing second, she was giving in to the former. She had to act fast; she had to convince Poppy that she wasn’t out to get her. Poppy wasn’t going to let her in until she was convinced that Alyss had lost herself to whatever it was that she had done to her.

Knowing that the Knight had her back was relieving in a way. However, Alyss didn’t know what the Nature Witch was capable of. What if she failed? What if Alyss couldn’t get to her and she lost herself? Everything was riding on one thing and one thing only: Alyss swallowing her pride and pretending as if she had lost herself. “Nothing to talk about with nasty witches,” Poppy replied, the look on her face rather smug.

“N-no, I am not nasty. I truly do not m-mean you any harm. I… I tr-u-truly only wi-wish to speak with you… to,” Alyss started. However, her thoughts were everywhere. I will murder her… I hate this. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it! “to… be next to you.” Alyss tried her best to pretend that her resistance was broken. Yet, as much as she wanted to pretend… with the assault on her mind not slowing, she couldn’t help but think that half of what she was saying was the truth.

“It’s a sham I can’t trust the pretty thing. Otherwise, she could come in and… play.” As she said it, she shook her head around. It played at Alyss’ mind even greater. “I-I… I want to play… Please, let me in… I want to- to play.” Alyss’ legs felt out from under her and she was reduced to a crawl. “Please?” She couldn’t tell if she meant it or not. Alyss had to hurry and get close to her, and touch her. If she could manage that, she could end it all in one motion.

I must hang in there… I have to end this assault now!

Poppy giggled. She was trying so hard to resist! She was no doubt saying everything she thought Poppy wanted to hear, only to find herself meaning every word! It was so delightful. Given enough time, she'd break completely, and Poppy's touch would just be an afterthought. She'd see that Poppy wasn't such a bad person, as the Knight had no doubt led her to believe. In fact, she could be quite...fun.

She thought about it, spinning around as she leapt off the table - the motion no doubt driving the girl insane - then stopped, winking. "Alright. The pretty girl can come in. But big brother stays where he is, because he peeked."

As she said this, she opened a gap in the roots, whilst simultaneously forcing several of her seeds to bloom, creating some very large venus flytraps, which she kept a mental control over, snapping at the girl as she moved through the gap. As soon as she was through, Poppy closed it.

"Pretty girl stays at the edge of the room, and no tricks, or you'll be food for my new plants." as she said this, she raised a small vertical barrier of roots, and set the acorn on the table. The girl would have to leap over the roots to get to her, which she'd never manage in time.

"Would you like some tea? Very good for your nerves. I make very good tea." If she could get her to drink some tea, that would be perfect. She'd be absolutely helpless - if she didn't succumb to its effects, Poppy could turn her inside out with the seeds she'd put in there. She'd never done that before...it'd be quite messy. She'd need to find a new place to live if she did that...well, she was planning on moving anyway.

Alyss was starting to sweat now. She was breaking more and more. However, she kept the bottom line of her thoughts intact. She had to win, she had to make sure Poppy never got the chance to take her out. No longer crawling, Alyss sat down, now in the same room as her. Next to her were snapping Venus fly traps. They were all controlled by Poppy, no doubt waiting for Alyss to make a move. “Pretty girl stays at the edge of the room, and no tricks, or you’ll be food for my new plants.” She set yet another row of roots in between her and Alyss.

If she wanted to get over there, she was going to have to jump the roots. Not the first time of the day, Alyss wasn’t sure if she could manage it. Did she even want to try anymore? Would you like some tea? Very good for your nerves. I make very good tea.” The offer was tempting, and she would take it, but she was not going to drink it. It was without a doubt tainted in some fashion. “Y-yes please.” Alyss said. As she said it, a part of her really did want the drink. No, no, no, no, no, no! I will not be drinking it. I am still in control here!

Once the tea was given to her… that was her time to strike…

[OOC: "or you’ll be food for my new pants.”" Ringo, stop making those godawul typos ]

Poppy smiled sweetly, turning her back on the girl, swaying provocatively as she delicately picked up a new mug, pouring water on top of some choice leaves, as well as a single seed. The smell of peppermint filled the room, although Poppy had put far more than just peppermint in the cup. One sip of this, and the girl would be more aroused than she thought possible. She thought she was confused now? This would set her on fire. Poppy had decided against putting her to sleep. Better to make this one a slave to her own emotions instead; she was obviously fighting it, because if she wasn't, she would have cut her way through the roots and they wouldn't just be talking right now. No, she'd have some fun with her before they got to that stage.

"Tell me, pretty girl. Why are you with big brother? You know what knights do to witches." she asked, not particularly curious. She finished with the mug and turned around, picking up the acorn on the table - one couldn't be too careful - and moved past the roots, creating a small gap for her to pass through. She placed the mug on the floor, sliding it across to the girl, the movement hindered by the seeds scattering the floor.

"Can't be too careful, can we? Pretty girl can stay where she is. I know what her power is." she giggled again, as though she had discovered some unfathomable secret.

--

Voices. Lily groaned, struggling to force herself to consciousness. One of them was Daisy, she was certain of that. The other one...it was too faint to make out. She was positive she'd never heard it before, but felt nonetheless as though she should know who it belonged to...

...with great difficultly, Lily rolled herself out of the bed, her impact muffled by the sheets that came with her. The impact itself jarred her to wakefulness, and she managed to open her eyes. Now, if she could just get up and open the door, she could find out who Daisy had for company...she had never been this tired before. It was remarkable, and yet terrifying at the same time...

[OOC: I HAVEN’T SLEPT SINCE FRIDAY! And speak for yourself. “godawul” :rage: Also, you know the Pants Witch would be fucking amazing. :mokken: THE POWER TO ATTACK WITH PANTS! The entire room would be fucked right now. ]

Alyss watched carefully as Poppy made the tea. However, she couldn’t see what all she was doing with it as she turned around. “Tell me, pretty girl. Why are you with big brother? You know what Knights do to Witches.” She finished the tea and turned around. Poppy then parted the roots with ease as she made a space small enough for her to pass through. Alyss was ready to strike, but as luck would have it, Poppy simply put the mug on the floor and slid it to her.

“Can’t be too careful, can we? Pretty girl can stay where she is. I know what her power is.” The giggle that she let out was like a slap to the face of Alyss. No… I have lost. I will not be able to get near her now. If she knew what Alyss was planning, it was indeed over. Alyss would lose herself to this feeling sooner or later. The Knight and the Witch went in with a plan… but it amounted to nothing. Now Alyss was stuck between a rock and a hard place and she wasn’t getting out.

Wait… what if I used the power that I use to manipulate people… on myself? She had never thought about that before. Alyss still had enough power within her, and using her power in that manner was virtually undetectable, and required next to no energy at all. Being at the end of her rope as far as plans went, she couldn’t think of anything else. If Poppy noticed the connection she had on her broken… she could… and would attack.

Though, in all reality, Alyss would rather be severely hurt than lose herself to a mind game. It would take no time at all to get done. She just needed to speak as she did it, to distract Poppy from what she was doing. “I-I only wanted to help…” Using her own electrical current against herself, Alyss went to work on her own mind. She had to remove the feeling of lust. “Not all Witches are the same… nor are all Knights. I… simply wanted to do what I felt was right.” No, that would take far too long. Hunting down and shutting off one emotion would take too long. “…If we all work together, anything is possible. I do not want the extra power. I just want to co-exist… to live normally.”

What Alyss was doing was the equivalent to killing a mouse with a hand grenade. Lust wouldn’t be the only thing that went down. She would quite possibly lose love, happiness, and other things until she had time to restore them later. Here I go… Alyss cut them off, all of them.

What happened next was interesting. Everything that she had felt previously was gone. It was almost as if she had never felt them at all. Alyss was fine. Her plan had worked perfectly. Picking up the mug, Alyss rose to her feet and threw it at Poppy. As quickly as she could, she jumped, and with her power almost flew, over the roots. With her right hand she fired Lightning from her fingertips. From all the energy she gathered, she could manage at least five charges. With her left arm, she reached out towards Poppy, prepared to grab her arm and force her to submit. I have done it! I will win!

[OOC: Well, EXCUSE ME, Princess :mokken:
...also, Pants Witch = epic. RP is over. Pants Witch wins. xD]

Poppy ducked, screeching as the mug sailed over her, too surprised to react. What was she doing?! Too late, she realised that the girl had somehow overcome the little spell she had put on her, at least temporarily. Well, wasn't that interesting? How had she managed that? She ran forward, leaping at Poppy and grasping her arm - far too tightly - sending a rather unpleasant electric current through it, a look of triumph in her eyes.

"Ow, ow, OW!" Poppy leapt back, forcing the girl to let go of her as she danced out of reach. She moved around the other side of the table, rubbing at her arm. As predicted, that had NOT been pleasant. But, evidently, she had expected it to do something more. Had she poured everything she had into it, or had she been facing a normal human, it might have. Unfortunately for her, she was facing Poppy, with only a single element to call upon, and she had underestimated her strength. That was going to prove fatal.

"That wasn't very nice. You hurt me. Liar." she glared at her, although in truth, the pain was already fading to a tingle. She wasn't going to get the chance to do THAT again.

"You want to play rough? I like playing rough." she grinned, although it was a savage, feral grin, the way a cat might grin at a mouse it had cornered in an alleyway and was about to devour. That knight still wasn't getting in here anytime soon, and the girl probably only had a limited power to call upon. Clenching her fists, Poppy expanded the cage of roots that had separated them earlier, covering the walls. She also forced the seeds behind the girl that she had scattered earlier - a good job, too - to bloom into flowers although these, unlike her earlier batch, would be far more deadly. For each task, she drew upon the power of Light in small increments, not so much that the girl would notice, but enough to prevent her from using her own life force again. She had already had enough pain today. Nothing fancy this time.

"No more power. No more air. No more pretty girl." she sang happily, dancing a small jig around the table.

--

A loud cry forced Lily back into consciousness. What had happened?! Was Daisy being attacked by someone, perhaps? Maybe someone was attacking her, raping her as they had her and her mother...Lily stood up, limbs still heavy with sleep, too scared to move. Shadows - so many shadows, where had they come from? - swarmed around her, although none of them came remotely close to touching her. No, they seemed to be struggling to break free, swarming over the door.

With trembling hands, Lily opened the door.

--

Heath could not help himself. He peeked through the gap as Poppy screamed, followed by the sound of breaking China. From what little he could see, Alyss had managed to grab Poppy...and failed. She was still on her feet, and looked to be turning the room into a miniature forest.

"Damn it!" he swore, hacking at the root barrier with his sword. Poppy would slaughter Alyss if he didn't get in there NOW.

Ardis's patience with this girl was beginning to wear fast. Not only were they underground by at least five feat and confined to close quarters, this mostly his own doing. She was also throwing a tantrum every chance she could, it was like she didn't know how to behave in a group of others. He honestly couldn't take it anymore, well with being coped down in this place at least. Picking up his past and trudging past her, he began to look around.

"There is no plan right now. Ever since you burned down the tree in a hast like that it's all been made up on the fly. If we can get out of here, the plan might be to meet up with the two we split up with and maybe try and figure out what the hell is going on here. So maybe just maybe if you can knock off the I'm a snotty little princess attitude, and be willing to work together hey the time may just pass a little faster and be more pleasant."

Ardis took a look around as the came up to an intersection that split in four ways. Wanting to double back so to say he decided to head right and hoped they would be able to come to another intersection. Otherwise he was going to find the next ladder up and get the hell outta this place. Speaking back to her he didn't care right now how pissed she would get, since half this was her fault to him now anyways.

"Look you have my thanks for burning that pollen or whatever it was back there at the alleyway. I know are two groups don't get along very well but you decided to help us. After we get out of here and as long as there is no squadron of knights nearby because of the tree incident, if you want to part way and not meet up with the other two then fine. However if you want to meet them can we try to lower the hostility between us please?"

[OOC: I’M BEING EATEN ALIVE BY MY PANTS! WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!]

Poppy’s shouts of pain were not expected. If Alyss’ plan had worked, she wouldn’t have been able to do anything. To add to the list of unexpected things, Poppy had leapt back out of her reach. Something had finally clicked in Alyss’ mind: she had failed. “That wasn’t very nice. You hurt me. Liar.” From the tone in the Nature Witch’s voice, she was not amused. In fact, she was quite the opposite. “You want to play rough? I like playing rough.”

Looking over at Heath, her view was still blocked by those damned roots. From the looks of things, he wasn’t going to be getting in the room anytime soon. So much for having my back, Alyss thought. She was going to be going solo on this. With five charges left, Alyss was sure she would be able to handle it. She had to, if she couldn’t hold the line now… she was done for. Before she knew it, roots had covered the walls and the seeds that were now behind her were starting to bloom into flowers.

“No more power. No more air. No more pretty girl.” Once again, the sound of her singing it along was like a slap to the face. The dancing Poppy was doing wasn’t helping much either. Alyss was now finding it somewhat hard to breathe. As much as she wanted to talk down upon the Witch, wasting air at this particular moment wasn’t a wise move. Pointing both of her hands at Poppy, she let fire two more streams of Lightning at her. Three charges left…

[OOC: Poppy will take them off for you :britt:]

Poppy danced out of the way as the girl shot lightning bolts at her, twisting easily around the table. "Wow! So pretty!" she clapped her hands in delight, giggling. She wasn't a very good shot...although that was probably because Poppy was slowing cutting off her air supply. For her, the pollen wasn't much of a problem; what kind of a silly girl would be vulnerable to her own flowers?

The room suddenly darkened, as shadows swarmed out from under the bedroom door. Poppy stopped dancing, to stare as her toy emerged from her bedroom, wrapped in shadows, the covers trailing behind her like some kind of...cape. Were they playing dress-up? Poppy realised with a start that she was still naked. Dress-up might be a good idea right now, especially with that knight watching her every move from outside the door.

Well, well. Things were going to get interesting. Should she use the power of Light to subdue the girl? No, best not to. That was her little secret. Best to let Lily handle the situation...she'd probably go ballistic when she saw the other girl, and might do Poppy's work for her. Of course, that would mean she would get the prize, but...one step at a time.

"Is everything all right, Lily dear?" she asked sweetly, infusing the acorn still in her hand with small amounts of energy as she spoke. Just in case.

--

Lily yawned, stretching as she entered the room, the yawn turning into a cough. Strange, it was quite difficult to breathe. She smiled, rubbing at her eyes, "I feel so peaceful, I haven't slept that well since--"

Clarity, cold and painful, washed over her, as she took in the scene. Daisy, standing naked on one side of the table - the bottom of Lily's stomach dropped out from under her - and, on the other side...the girl she had seen earlier, the one that had chased her. The witch, with the eyepatch.

Shadows swarmed around her, blanketing the entire room. Lily screamed, fear and terror washing over her.

She's come to kill me!

--

"For crying out loud!"

Heath moved away, panting slightly. Damned roots were extremely tough, and he couldn't provide Alyss with any support out here. A fine, golden mist was trickling into the hallway, no doubt highly toxic. It was thick enough here, it must be torture for Alyss. Heath was responsible for getting her into this mess, he needed to get her out of it, now.

Moving away, he poured as much of his energy as he could afford into his sword, causing it to glow in response. He would hack through this infernal barrier one way or another.

Abruptly, the entire hallway was plunged into darkness. Heath's eyes widened at the ferocity, the purity, of the power. Was the Darkness Witch - for that was no doubt what she was - truly capable of this much? Or had Poppy acquired a second element after all?

Mocking Alyss as she dodged her lightning bolts, Alyss started feeling the effects of what was happening to her. Her arms were getting heavy and her aim was very off. She was about to fire off another volley when suddenly shadows emerged out of seemingly nowhere. The girl that Alyss, Crimson, Heath and Ardis saw earlier was walking out of the bedroom door. Shadows danced around her as if they needed her. Without a doubt, she was the Witch of Darkness.

“Is everything all right, Lily dear?” Poppy asked. Alyss on the other hand was more worried. Two Witches… and it seemed as if Poppy had already influenced Lily. If they both turned on her, Alyss’ already slim chances of survival were down to zero. Please… Heath, you must hurry.

“I feel so peaceful, I haven’t slept that well since-“ Her speech was cut off as she noticed Alyss, and almost instantly those shadows surrounded the room. A high pitched scream could be heard coming from her direction. Alyss wasn’t too far away from the same outcome. Suddenly, she couldn’t see anything. Everything was pitch black. What was going on? “Heath! Get in here!”

[OOC: Next post, we can begin what we discussed in PMs...unless you want to draw this out a little longer, perhaps long enough for Alyss to loose her remaining charges...that might be the key to setting Lily off, actually~]

"Working on it!" Heath shouted, gritting his teeth as he charged the barrier, sword raised. It sank easily through the barrier this time, allowing him to cut through it at though it were a sheet of paper. Reversing the flow of energy to project an aura around himself to block against the pollen, Heath stepped into the room, gesturing to Alyss to stand by him, his sword and the barrier surrounding him illuminating the entire room in an eerie, blue glow. At least she'd be able to breathe, although if these two turned on them, it wouldn't do them much good...Poppy by herself was bad enough. That this witch could blanket the entire room in darkness in broad daylight...that was more than troubling. She might even be more powerful than Poppy...

Poppy shrieked, hands shifting to cover herself - much to Heath's relief, although the act was no doubt for the girl's benefit. He was getting hot under the collar just looking at her - Alyss had been right, she was doing something. His determination gave him strength and, despite the danger it posed to her, he had no doubt that Alyss would lend him her strength if he needed it to keep the barrier up around them. Now was not the time to be worrying about a possible leak of privacy.

"Now, why don't we talk about this? Poppy, if you could just clear the air, and if you, my lady, could please calm your shadows, we could try this again...sit down, and talk about things. We don't need to...ah, splatter anyone across the walls..."

This was never going to work. A tactical retreat might be advisable at this point, although Heath was reluctant to leave this witch, who was obviously emotionally unstable, in Poppy's hands.

--

"Lily, who are these people? I was just taking a shower and this one came in, firing bolts of lightning!" Poppy focused all her energy on Lily, adjusting the girl's pheromones to levels almost higher than she had the Lightning Witch's. If Lily turned on her here, things would get very messy...she'd have to kill them all. She continued to infuse her acorn with energy, bit by bit. It didn't need to be a big tree...just large enough to fill this room, and crush them all.

So long as she didn't make the first move, she believed she was safe. She had shown Lily nothing but kindness, and girls like her were highly responsive to such things. Lily wouldn't suspect a thing...despite the fact that Poppy had turned her room into a miniature forest.

What a dummy.

--

Lily stared wildly from one person to the next. Poppy? Who was Poppy? The knight had entered the room, viciously cutting down the barrier over the door - Lily shivered as she imagined what he could do to her with such a weapon - and spoke quite calmly. He didn't seem particularly hostile...but he was a Knight. Knights killed witches. Why was the one with the eye patch working with him?

She looked at Daisy helplessly, the darkness becoming more pronounced with each passing moment. She couldn't control it. She didn't know what to do...

[OOC: Let’s get it over with. :gasp:]

Alyss made it over towards Heath as he finally sliced his way through the roots. Relief hit her like a ton of bricks as she gasped for air inside of his barrier. Falling to her knees, she made sure her eyes never left Poppy. She was far more worried about turning her back on her than Lily. Alyss bided her time, waiting and allowing herself time to take a few deep breaths as she prepared for her next attack. It was obvious that Poppy wasn’t going to listen to reason, and Alyss was going to make sure that her next three charges hit hard.

“Now, why don’t we talk about this? Poppy, if you could just clear the air, and if you, my lady, could please calm your shadows, we could try this again… sit down, and talk about things. We don’t need to… as, splatter anyone across the walls…” Alyss thought the same thing that she was sure Heath did. This wasn’t going to work in a million years.

Almost as if ensuring that point, Poppy had began weaving lies in a quilt made of deception. “Lily, who are these people? I was just taking a shower and this one came in, firing bolts of lightning!” Lies, trickery, and deceit. It was obvious that Poppy was very familiar with them. The shadows were getting darker and thicker with each passing second. There was no longer a time for games, no longer any time for thinking. “Heath, I am taking her out… now.

Not waiting for a reply, she took a deep breath and fired everything she had. With both of her arms extended, she drained every last bit of electrical energy out towards the Nature Witch. Lightning flew everywhere as Alyss walked forward, trying to ensure that she didn’t miss. If she managed to dodge it, it would be by the skin of her teeth. If she managed to dodge it… Alyss was doomed.

She rolled her eyes. She was sure there was hardly a plan to begin with. Specially because Ardis's first reaction was to burn down the tree... so overall she'd done exactly what he first wanted. The girl sighed and continued to walk silently until the man spoke again.

She smiled at his thanks. At least she finally got some thanks. "I knew I was going to regret it though. It was either save you lot or get caught by that nature witch... but I messed that up anyway, she knows what I look like. I am not keen on meeting up with the other two, I have a feeling they are probably dead or will be soon. My plan is to flee. Call it cowardly but it has kept me alive this long... it must be working."

Crimson then noticed another manhole and pointed at it. "Well there's our exit!" she looked to Ardis and smiled. "Unless you still think it is unsafe to exit this literal shit hole?"

~*~

(OOC) Short post is short :P

Ardis was surprised when he turned around. He saw Crimson smile as she pointed up and spoke. "Well there's our exit! Unless you still think it is unsafe to exit this literal shit hole?"

Taking a look around and not seeing another exit for who knows how long he shrugged and spoke. "Well this may not lead us to where I was hoping, it probably got us far enough away from that scene. Well I don't blame you for running at the start of this thing. But seeing what you have now, can you really keep on running? Be far from it for me to tell you what to do, but as you said that Nature witch saw what you looked like. So how do you plan to hide now, you said you might keep running? Do you thin you can keep it up without her ever finding you?"

Going up the ladder first he slowly opened up the manhole and took a look around. Ironically they were in the back of some alleyway that was at least empty. Getting out of the sewers he knelt down and offered Crimson a hand and spoke once more.

"Well it seems fate is laughing at us. Were in a spot similar to where we first met. Look i'm not saying we should fight, but with how things are we maybe should. I'll just say this, if we can get rid of the Nature witch maybe you can go on living how you were before. From what I know and seen, it seems none of you current witches besides her are interested in playing this game. So we get rid of her and hopefully no more game, as long as none of your sisters wanna get murderous intentions."

[OOC: Mmkay :ryan:
Also, you'll have to excuse me if my posts are shit/getting shitter...somewhat preoccupied with the looming threat of exams right now. xD]

Lily screamed as the witch walked forward, blasting Daisy with lightning. She was sent flying backwards over the table, hitting the floor with a loud crunching sound.

"No!"

She heard the sound, but she wasn't entirely sure who said it - it might even have been her, as she watched Daisy get blasted off her feet, yet the next sequence of events happened so fast that she could barely make sense of them. The Knight charged forward, sword drawn...and vanished, as though simply snuffed out. As the witch stopped her attack, shadows reached out for her, pulling her down into the floor. The same thing was happening to the unconscious Daisy...and to her. Lily didn't even have time to scream as she was pulled through a portal and submerged in total darkness...

--

The choice to allow the girl's feeble attacks to hit her had been an easy one - Poppy knew it was precisely what was needed to set Lily off. Her entire body ached, but she had a feeling that would wear off the more she moved; at one element to two, the girl couldn't really do any real damage to her. Or perhaps she was just weak. Poppy was a Goddess in the making, after all.

She pushed a semi-conscious, shaking Lily off of her, glancing around. That had been quite the wild ride...an interesting power that she had, there. Poppy would have to try it out when she took Lily's powers for herself. But if she had been caught up in that, then surely...she had brought the other witch with her! That was considerate.

Poppy threw her acorn, thankful that she hadn't lost that in the ride here, across the floor, forcing it to bloom as it reached where the other girl lay. This wouldn't need to be a very big tree, so as long as she was careful, the energy she had fed into it should be sufficient.

The tree picked the girl up, slamming her against the far wall, roots encircling her wrists and arms; ankles and legs; across her stomach and neck. Tighter. Tighter still. Effectively crucified against the wall, she could do nothing. Poppy was free to have her way with her...and have her way she would. This girl had hurt her far too much. Now it was her turn. She glanced around once more whilst the girl struggled - not that that would do her any good - for a weapon. It turned out Lily, like most people, kept a plant in her bedroom (for this had to be her room, for where else would she have taken them to in such a hurry?) as well. A cactus, on the window sill. Poppy smiled in delight.

"Time to play, pretty girl. Time to play!" Poppy idled up to the window sill, picking the pot up, frowning as she got a closer look. This was a very neglected cactus. She'd need to punish Lily for that after she was through...not that it mattered. It would more than suffice for what she had planned.

--

What happened next, Heath could make no sense of. He silently exulted as Alyss scored a direct hit on Poppy, only to realise, seconds later, that it had probably been the her plan all along, as the other girl leapt into motion. Heath charged forward, sword raised: the time for talking was clearly past. For now, he needed to protect Alyss whilst she subdued Poppy and the other girl.

However, he could no longer see Alyss. He couldn't see much of anything, in fact. Worse, there was another barrier, seemingly of solid shadow, blocking him. He couldn't break through it, couldn't even see through it.

"Alyss! Get out of there!" Heath yelled, banging on the barrier with the hilt of his sword, unsure as to whether she could even hear him. He had his answer a moment later as the shadows fled the room, revealing not a witch in sight. Well, that was just perfect, wasn't it? Evidently the Witch of Darkness had taken them...somewhere. Or this was another of Poppy's tricks. But Alyss would never willingly go along with that...unless she had no choice.

Heath sat down on the floor, despair flooding him. This had been an absolute disaster. He had been responsible for Alyss' safety, and now she was...who knew where. Worse, she was with two witches who wished her nothing but ill. He knew that, if he never saw her alive again, he would never forgive himself. This had been his bright idea, and he had allowed her to go in by herself. He was supposed to be the one Poppy took her frustration out upon!

With Poppy gone, the control over her plants had vanished - they were harmless. Well, he wasn't so sure about the giant venus flytraps. Might be best to keep away from those.

Crimson
Fire Witch

"Well this may not lead us to where I was hoping, it probably got us far enough away from that scene. Well I don't blame you for running at the start of this thing. But seeing what you have now, can you really keep on running? Be far from it for me to tell you what to do, but as you said that Nature witch saw what you looked like. So how do you plan to hide now, you said you might keep running? Do you thin you can keep it up without her ever finding you?"

"Well I don't know what else to do, I can't fight her. She's probably killed that stupid knight and witch by now, it's just you and me and we can't go up against someone who potentially has 3 or even 4 powers" the red head exclaimed. "why did that dumbass make us split up in the first place."

Crimson didn't know what to do, if she ran she'd be found and killed, if she stayed she would be found and killed. Getting involved in the first place was the stupidest thing she'd ever done.. She knew she'd live to regret it but she didn't realise she'd regret it so soon.

Ardis had already begun climbing the tiny ladder when he began to speak once more.

The bit about no other witches wanting power was not true... Crimson desired power... she didn't before, in fact before she was more interested in running but now power seemed like the only way to defeat that stupid witch and gain her life back... unless she wanted to live in a sewer or something where the nature witch wouldn't think of looking.

She climbed the ladder and took the knights hand, getting hoisted out of the small hole in the ground. Fresh air had never smelt so good. They were in a small alley, Ardis was right, it was like the one they'd met in. She walked to the end of the alley and looked out towards the oak, it was huge you could see it from here, smoke was pouring from it, her fire was still raging on it seemed and then, with a large crack the tree began to fall, the weak bark must have given way.

There was a large thud and the tree hit the ground, dust and smoke flying into the air. Crimson smiled. She wondered how many people would have gotten injured....

"Well the tree is officially taken care of... I am still at a loss with what to do next though, seems like any path I choose is going to end in me being dead..."

[OOC: No worries, my friend. Exams can be a rather fickle bitch. Besides, I haven’t been on top of my game with poasts as of late meself. :sad3: ]

A direct hit! With as much energy that Alyss had dumped into that lightning volley, she was sure to have done some major damage. There was a faint screaming… perhaps by the other Witch. However, Alyss cared little at the moment. As of right now, all she cared about was ensuring that she was able to keep Poppy at bay. Besides, it was for Lily’s own good. In time, she would understand why Poppy had to die.

Or, at least that would have been the case had things gone according to plan. As luck would have it, today was a day things didn’t go according to plan, and this was no exception. Shadows pulled and tugged at Alyss, forcing her to the ground. No… this was forcing her through the ground. Everything was covered in darkness. Alyss saw nothing… not a single thing as she slipped into a forced state of unconsciousness.

When Alyss woke up, she saw that Poppy was already awake. She didn’t see the acorn as she tried to stand. As soon as she made the effort to stand up, the acorn bloomed into a tree. It was fast, too fast for Alyss to comprehend. The tree lifted her up and slammed her into the wall. The only thing one could hear over the sound of her body slamming against the wall was Alyss’ scream of pain. She felt as if her back had just been popped about a million times.

Alyss tried to use her arms to force herself off of the tree only to find that it was hopeless. Her arms were first to be pinned against the wall. The roots tightening and tightening as roots came to do the same for her legs, chest, ankles, wrists, stomach, and finally her neck. Not only was she incapable of moving, she was incapable of even shuddering out of fear. With the roots around her chest, stomach, and neck, Alyss found it very difficult to breathe as she gasped for air.

Crucified and helpless against the wall, Alyss was forced to watch as Poppy searched for something… What could she have been going for? A weapon of some sorts maybe? Alyss had already lost… was that not enough for her? Was Poppy going to torture her… play with her food before she ate it? Her thoughts continued to be interrupted by sharp pangs of pain as the roots continued to tighten. For the first time in Alyss’ life, breathing had become a chore.

Poppy had found what she was looking for, and once Alyss’ eyes lay upon it, the pain from the roots was the least of her worries. In her hands was a cactus… or as Alyss saw it: pins and needles. Panic set in quickly, like a flame in a dry forest. Her eyes widened in terror as she shrieked at the mere sight of it. “G-get that damned thing away from me,” Alyss yelled. She may have been scared out of her right mind… but she was still going to put up a fight.

[OOC: Tis the season, as they say. I'll slow down a bit next week, but I should pick back up again by the end of the month...hopefully.]

Lily landed painfully on top of Daisy, realising with a start that this was her room...and she'd brought the other witch with her, as well. She could see her from the other side of the room...suddenly being slammed against the wall by a tree, created by...Daisy?

Daisy was a witch as well? Was that even her real name? The knight had called her "Poppy" as though he knew her...had they been after her, instead of Lily? That didn't explain why they had chased after her earlier, though. Perhaps Daisy...Poppy...whoever she was had been trying to help Lily escape? Or perhaps she wanted her powers for herself? She was certainly making short work of that other witch, who had fired lightning from her fingertips, and was...what was she doing? Lily didn't want to find out.

Lily was terrified. Two witches, in her bedroom! She'd have to leave home...assuming she made it out of this alive. Squealing in fear, she dived under her bed, cowering, the shadows strangely absent. Well, at least one good thing had come out of all this. She shut her eyes, trying to block out the sounds of their voices, shaking uncontrollably. This was all a bad dream. When she woke up, they'd both be gone, and it would be time to go to work...

--

"You didn't ask me nicely." Poppy sang, pouting and waving the cactus around. For a moment, she contemplated sticking it somewhere rather unpleasant, and forcing it to grow into her. But...no, that would be far too quick...and pleasant, at least until the spines dug into her. It had been a while since she had done any drawing. Perhaps she'd do some now...if she could find some scissors. The girl had far too much clothing on. Poppy wasn't going to draw on her clothes...it wouldn't leave an impression.

"Lily, dear! Do you have any scissors?" Poppy asked, rummaging around in her drawers. Some very nice clothes in here...maybe she'd try some on, after she'd subdued this one. Girls weren't supposed to walk around naked, after all. Although it was alright for the moment, because she was in the company of other girls, and she wouldn't be the only one for very long. Maybe they could all play dress-up together! But, first things first. She knelt down, checking the cupboards below the drawers. Ah-hah! A sewing kit!

"Never mind!" she opened it and pulled out a pair of small scissors, testing them, the snapping sound cutting ominously through the silence (punctuated by the occasional muffled sob from Lily, from where she hid under her bed) as she moved up to where the girl was tied. She began cutting through her clothing - a task that was hindered somewhat by the roots tying up her limbs, although she wasn't about to loosen them - singing softly to herself as she did so. Cutting was so much fun!

When she was finished, she set a hand over the girl's forehead, frowning. She'd cut her emotions off with some sort of...electric pulse? She didn't know, and she didn't much care. What she did know was that she could easily undo it. She might be a witch, but she was still human, and all humans were slaves to their emotions. It was time Poppy trained her to be a proper toy.

"You shouldn't cheat, pretty girl. Cheaters get punished."

She kissed the girl's forehead, kicking her hormones into overdrive. Some brief pleasure first, just in case she decided to co-operate later. Wouldn't be much fun if she couldn't feel anything. Satisfied, she stopped, pumping the girl full of fear instead. It was time she did some screaming. It was a pity that Poppy couldn't enhance her pain...at least, not with an oak tree and a cactus. There was a limit to what even she could do. She would have to improvise.

She set the cactus down on the bedside table and put her hand over it, infusing it with energy. It tripled in size almost instantly, splitting the pot apart, spilling dirt over the floor. Delicately, she plucked one of the needles from it, smiling. There. The perfect pen, and she had plenty more to spare, when she got tired of drawing and decided she wanted to play darts.

"Now, don't move, pretty thing." she cautioned, giggling despite telling herself she wouldn't - after all, she couldn't move at all - and knelt down, setting the needle against the girl's right outer thigh, pausing only to run a hand over her skin in wonder. Such silky skin! Too bad for her. She was about to get very badly scarred.

Poppy dug the spine into her skin, withdrawing it when she hit muscle, then dug it in again and, ignoring the trickle of blood that ran over her hand, began carving through her skin. First, she'd write her name. Then maybe she'd draw a cat, and a dog, and a flower, too! Then maybe she'd do some upper body work...she was in no hurry to claim the girl's powers, after all. They were likely miles away from Poppy's apartment, and nobody was coming to her rescue. It was time to make her suffer.

“You didn’t ask me nicely,” the Nature Witch sang. She waved the cactus around like some sort of trophy. What she planned on doing with it, only Poppy knew. Over on the wall, pinned to it and unable to move, Alyss had dozens of ideas in her head… none of them good, some of them terrifying. “Lily, dear! Do you have any scissors?” Lily had hidden under the bed just before. In all reality, she was probably just as terrified as Alyss was. After all, she had only turned off emotions that controlled lust. Fear, as she found, still worked perfectly.

Poppy eventually found some scissors after rummaging around through some drawers. “Never mind!” She said as she started snapping them. Walking up to Alyss with a smile that was most sickening, Alyss tried struggling again. It was useless, of course. She knew it, Poppy knew it, and in all reality, Lily probably knew it as well. Alyss was unable to do anything as scissors tore through her clothing, exposing her skin. All the while, Poppy sang a song, no doubt having fun doing what she was doing at Alyss’ expense.

After she was done, a hand met Alyss’ forehead. For a second, she thought that Poppy was going to remove her eye patch. She had prepared herself for it, but it never came. “You shouldn’t cheat, pretty girl. Cheaters get punished.” Poppy must have been speaking of the trick Alyss used to control her emotions. As she finished, she kissed Alyss’ forehead, and suddenly all of her work controlling her emotions was moot. Before she knew it, that feeling of lust had returned, and Alyss had no control. Suddenly, being held captive wasn’t so bad. Or at least, it wouldn’t have been if things had stayed that way.

Showing that consistency was never an option, Poppy had changed that feeling of lust to a feeling of fear. The fear flooded into Alyss like water. She couldn’t stop it, she couldn’t fight it, and there was literally nothing she could do as she was pinned to the wall. Once she was done, Poppy set the cactus down on the bedside table and made it grow. The pot broke and soil flowed to the floor. Poppy then took the time to pick a needle from it, and Alyss instantly knew what was coming. “Now, don’t move, pretty thing.”

Still scared out of her mind, Alyss tried to play it tough. “Do- do not be so silly, Poppy… I can-cannot move an inch.” The sound of Alyss’ broken voice just made it sound pathetic. Before she knew it, Poppy had pressed the needle into Alyss thigh, not once, but twice. Both times Alyss let out a moan of pain, and then it only got worse from there. Poppy had begun dragging the needle across her skin slowly, and painfully. The scream that Alyss let out was loud as she started desperately trying to break free of the roots that bound her.

The needle continued to drag against her skin, tearing at it painfully. Every second felt like an hour to Alyss. “S-stop it,” she screamed. She already wanted this to be over… and she had a feeling that she knew what Poppy had wanted out of this. But she would be damned if she handed it over to her. Even if her punishment was millions of needles into her flesh… she was not handing over anything to the lunatic in front of her. The last thing she needed was more power.

"You're still not asking nicely, silly girl." Poppy replied in her singsong voice, finishing embedding her name into the girl's leg and pushing the spine into her muscle as an afterthought, leaving only the tip exposed. The girl's answering screams to this, it turned out, were most satisfying. Fear was enhancing the pain, and she couldn't stop the fear, no matter how strong her will. She was a slave to her emotions, and Poppy controlled her emotions. She was, it would appear, out of batteries. A broken toy. All that remained was for Poppy to...dispose of her.

She moved away, deftly plucking another spine from the cactus, then another, and a third, fourth, and fifth, twirling them absently between her fingers, letting the girl's lone eye follow the movement...and was her eyepatch damp? Yes, yes it was! Poppy raised an eyebrow at the detail, saying nothing as she moved back to up to where the girl was crucified, tracing circular patterns across her stomach with a finger, enjoying the shuddering, the only movement the girl was capable of.

"Now, where should I stick this one? Here...and here...and there!" she pushed one into the girl's chest, just above her right breast, and the second into her , embedding it in bone. The last two went into her open palms, going straight through them both. She looked at the last one thoughtfully, frowning.

"Oh, only one left. But, look! I have a whole cactus left! And when that is done, I can make another...and another...and another." she grinned, "How about I blind your eye for real? You shouldn't lie about things like that. Naughty girl. Maybe its time you told me the truth...or would you prefer that I make you tell me?"

In truth, Poppy didn't care if the girl surrended her powers willingly or not. Unless she was very, very nice, Poppy was going to kill her anyway. She didn't like liars, and cheaters, and thieves. This girl was all three. Besides, she had a much more interesting toy still cowering under the bed. Poppy was not a greedy girl; she didn't need two witch toys. Just one would do.

She reached up, deftly removing the girl's bandage. Turns out there was another working eye under there. A different colour, too! Oh, but which one should she poke out? She only had one spine in her hand, and there were two eyes...decisions, decisions.

"Which one shall I choose? Left..." she moved the spine over to the girl's left eye, so close as to almost touch her, "or right?" she moved it to the girl's right eye, holding it there.
