[RP] Final Fantasy IX: Scars of Terra

Robert Crescent
Freya Crescent
Sir Fratley

Robert watched as Twinblade and Annelise tended to Ricard's wounds. "You are a puzzle. You love Ricard, yet you fight on the side that wishes to destroy the peace which he fights to protect and everything he cares about." Robert commented. "You won't get him to abandon everything he holds dear, everything he wishes to protect, so why try and make him throw it all away? If you really cared about him, you would support him and be his pillar of strength, not his mortal enemy."

About that moment, Freya arrived on the scene. She saw Annelise and an unknown woman tending to Ricard's wounds. Alleria had her sword out, and Robert was standing on the other side of the bridge lecturing, most likely to the stranger that was initially treating Ricard with items.

She breathed a sigh of relief before regaining her composure. "I was wondering what was taking you so long." she spoke before she approached Annelise and knelt down beside her, keeping a weary eye on the stranger who her son identified as one of the enemy. "How is your friend, Annelise?" she asked.

****************

"It should take about an hour per item at most, and we have approximately four hours before sunrise. I have already explained the battle strategies to the troops, and they will be ready as soon as the horn is blown. The dragon riders are resting next to their silver dragons and will be ready to take off to land the first strike against the enemy once one of the sentries spots the enemy." Fratley explained before waiting for the king's decision.

The dragon riders were the newest troops of Burmecia, founded by his wife after the Kuja Crisis. While most of the silver dragons that poured out from the top of the Iifa Tree were slain, some survived and began to breed on the mountainside. The Burmecians made it a point to hunt them down. But on one raid, Freya and Fratley had come across some unhatched dragon eggs, and Freya remembered how Kuja had a silver dragon tamed enough to ride it and have it fight for him. It was Freya's suggestion that the silver dragons could be raised and tamed, thus giving birth to the new military force. That was 15 years ago. The dragons proved to be loyal companions to their riders and with the proper training, were easy to maintain and train.

Fratley turned his head as the Alexandrian knight and an unfamiliar face entered. "This is an important meeting. What is it you want?" Fratley asked, wondering why the guards at the door didn't question them first. The throne room was not supposed to be an open forum to the public during a crisis.

Lan Ester

Lan had to give credit to the chocobos. They were fast over a long distance and by the time he and Samuel reached Burmecia, they were slightly tired from their dash. Stopping at the gate, Lan got out and got Samuel out of the carriage while he took his stolen Oeilvert armor and weapon.

"Sir Lan, I thank you for helping me escape from the Oeilvert army." Samuel said as he and Lan walked into the city and towards the castle.

"No problem. I have to take you to the friends in high places. He should be at the castle now." Lan muttered thinking about the king.

Soon enough, the castle came into view as the pair walked up the steps and into the building. A door was open in front of them, but before they could enter, a guard stopped them.

"Halt, what is your business with the king?" the guard asked.

"I got Samuel out of Clerya. Does that count for me getting an audience?" Lan asked as he placed the Oeilvert Armor and weapon on the ground.

"Wait here then." the guard muttered as he went in to declare Lan and Samuel's arrival.

"So it was King Pucks that asked for my escape." Samuel muttered as he took off the green robe and handed it back to Lan.

"I guess it is. I'm not sure. I'm not part of Alexendria's military or Burmecia's military in any way. You could call me a Mercenary." Lan responeded as he waited to be announced.

Annelise Steiner and The Twinsword

Theme-Memories of What Once Was

Can you... Give me a hand here?"

Alleria went to pick up Ricard's Katana, and sheath it in his sheath.

"Tsk. That wasn't very impressive, You're really lucky you have Robert and Annelise here to help."

"Well, at least he's safe and sound, right?" Anne said as Twinsword reached for her blades and sheathing them, then headed back to go and get Ricard off the ground. "That's all that matters, anyway." Anne smiled.

Robert spoke to Twinsword. "You are a puzzle. You love Ricard, yet you fight on the side that wishes to destroy the peace which he fights to protect and everything he cares about."

It was blissful irony, something that Magic Knight poked fun of earlier. "You won't get him to abandon everything he holds dear, everything he wishes to protect, so why try and make him throw it all away? If you really cared about him, you would support him and be his pillar of strength, not his mortal enemy."

Twinsword sighed as she sat on the other side of the bridge, facing Ricard, She had a solemn look on her face. "If it were only that easy...yes, I love him, and I would go out of my way to help him. But...I owe my life to Cyril and the Kingdom of Oeilvert, had he not saved me, I would not be here today. I want Ricard to love me...but I don't want to abandon the person who saved me, you know."

Freya appeared shortly thereafter, walking up towards the three of them."I was wondering what was taking you so long."

"My apologies, Lady Freya." Freya looked wearily at Twinsword, of course, but then she was an enemy General, so its to be expected.

"How is your friend, Annelise?"

"He will be alright, but he'll need some bed rest. Come on, let's get him off the ground." Anne finally said as she stood up. She held Ricard's hand and lifted him up. Putting the Pluto Knight's arm around the back of her neck, she put her other arm around the man's waist and she slowly took the first step, hoping that he would be able to walk with her support.

"I....I'm coming too."
Twinsword said, slowly getting up off the bridge.

"For what reason, may I ask?"

"It's my fault Ricard is like this, I want to make things right with him. I want to see that he gets better."

That was not a decision for Anne to make, and she chose to remain silent on it, just continuing to walk with Ricard to the nearest carriage, and leaving Twinsword to whatever any of the others may think of her.

Puck I, King of Burmecia

"It should take about an hour per item at most, and we have approximately four hours before sunrise. I have already explained the battle strategies to the troops, and they will be ready as soon as the horn is blown. The dragon riders are resting next to their silver dragons and will be ready to take off to land the first strike against the enemy once one of the sentries spots the enemy."

Puck smiled, if it took this much time, then they should be able to achieve an advantage. "Excellent. We are certain to hold off the enemy for an extend period of time, and even contain and defeat them if possible. Once we receive word from Alexandria and Lindblum, we should be able to have enough firepower to drive them back."

Shortly thereafter, two individuals arrived, one wore armor and supporting the other, who had a headache, perhaps from drinking too much ale. While Sir Fratley dealt with, a Burmecian guard ran up and knelt before the King.

"Your Majesty, Lord Samuel has arrived with a Genome escort."

"Thank you, please let him in."

----
The Magic Knight and the Pirate

A series of 5 Airships was seen by Cleyra's tree, coming in from the west. The Five Ships began to land on the city's outskirts, the ships, led by the flagship of the Royal Oeilvert Navy, the White Glint, was the first to land, and at the center of the ship was a man with spiky white hair and a longcoat with a skull and bones in the middle. He had his eyes closed, taking in the breeze as the ship had landed.

Floating down towards him was the Magic Knight, who used a float spell to escape from the tree and thus further injury from the two knights.

"About time you show up, Pirate." The Knight said. His clothes were torn and full of holes.

"Let me guess, Samuel got away, and we don't have the mirror..."

The Knight turned away, just pretending not to hear what Pirate said.

"Don't you worry bout that, just get some rest, and put on some fresh clothes. I'll get the mirrors for him anyway. Besides, no one holds a candle to this baby right here."

"Hmph, whatever." The Knight simply walked away. Once out of sight, the Pirate simply chided to himself. "Heh, that guy needs to get laid, big time."

Lan Ester and Samuel

A was a bit before they were allowed into the throne room, so to pass the time, Lan decided to try the armor that he striped from the dead genome.

"Hey, this armor fits well. But I don't understand why anyone would want to wear something like this all the time." Lan muttered as he put all the armor on and the main weapon the the armor came standard wtih.

"It is mainly focused on defense rather then agility. So any warrior who was agile while wearing armor is a remarkable warrior indeed." Samuel pointed out as the guard came back.

"King Pucks will see you now. Where is that boy that was with you Lord Samuel?" the guard asked.

Samuel's answer was to point at the now armored Lan.

"An Oeilvert Soldier?" the guard asked as he pointed his lance at Lan.

"Woah woah woah. It's me, Lan. The guy that rescued Samuel?" Lan muttered as he slightly back away from the lance.

"He is who he says he is." Samuel replied with a wry smile on Lan's predicament.

The guard nodded as he walked Lan and Samuel into the Throne room. Lan was amazed at the throne room. Everything seemed elegant and if given the chance, Lan would not mind having lunch in that room for the sole reason of just looking around.

"First time in a throne room?" Samuel asked looking at the Oeilvert armored Lan.

"Yeah. The only thing that comes close to this is my mom's house where I grew up in." Lan responded before he saw Fratley dealing with two other people. Turning his attention away from Fratley, Lan saw the King of Burmecia on the throne.

"Hi Mister King. How are ya? I got Sam here." Lan waved with all the excitement of a seven year old.

The guard groaned as he whacked Lan with the blunt end of his lance.

"You stand before King Puck, King of Burmecia." the guard stated as he watched Lan rub the armored area that the Lance end hit him.

"Aww. That's not nice. I just wanna say hi and all that. I did get Sam out of Clerya and all that. You could at least respect me enough not to hit me." Lan retorted while Samuel smiled at his genome escort.

"She's coming with us anyways as a prisoner of war. She's a member of the Oeilvert army, regardless of the reasons for her loyalty to them. She can watch over your friend, and we have questions that need to be answered, like why Oeilvert wants to open the passage between Gaia and Terra, especially since Kuja laid Terra to waste seventeen years ago. Not to mention Terra's purpose was to strip all life from this planet and merge their planet with ours. Opening that back up could have deadly consequences to everyone on Gaia." Freya commented.

Robert shook his head. "I can understand you would want to repay a life debt, but you have to ask yourself if all of the lives your Cyril is taking and all of the suffering he's causing innocent people for the sake of some magical mirrors is really worth it." Robert commented before he would attempt to lead her away to the exit of Cleyra.

"Now then, let's get going." she spoke, motioning for the rest to follow her down to the exit of Cleyra. There'd be one empty carriage left with four dragon knights beside it. Freya would get onto the driver's seat and take the reigns, while Robert got inside the carriage. Once everyone was inside the carriage, Freya would get the chocobos moving towards Bermecia.

***********

Fratley waited for the female to answer his question. However, as he did, two dragon knights burst into the throne room and got down on one knee before the Burmecian General. "General Fratley, We have spotted General Freya heading this way. All troops are en route to Burmecia. Also, the last of the Cleyran citizens have been loaded aboard the airships. We are ready for departure to Alexandria and Lindblum at any time." the first soldier reported.

The second knight then gave his report. "Sire, the scout dragon rider has reported a sighting of five Oeilvert airships heading for Cleyra." This was important news. He'd have to leave the others who wished to speak with the king to their own works.

Upon the knight's report, Fratley gave a nod to the both of them. "Looks like we won't be able to make those replicas. Very well. I will keep the Cleyran mirror strapped to my person and under my armor for the time being. The only way they'll get it is literally over my dead body." Fratley spoke before turning to look at Samuel. "If you wish, you can get aboard one of the docked airships to retreat with your people. The ships will bring the people back to Cleyra once the battle has subsided. For now, I must take my leave and get our troops ready for combat. By your leave." Fratley spoke before he gave a short bow to the king. He would turn and head out of the throne room and head to where the alert horn was stationed.

The horn itself was small, but enchanted. It could magnify any sound it made to the point that everyone in Burmecia could hear it. Fratley used the horn, which woke every sleeping person in Burmecia. The citizens went down into the underground shelter, and the armed forces of Burmecia readied themselves for battle. Only once Freya's little caravan had passed through the gates would the gates close.

Afterwords, Fratley would grab a thin mithril box with a leather strap harness and place the mirror inside of it. Removing his upper body clothing and armor, he would strap it so that the mithril thin box was resting on his chest before redressing himself.

In the mountains behind Burmecia, the airship doors opened, and beside them opened the stone gates which housed the Burmecian dragon rider forces. The forces would remain in place until Fratley would decide to signal them to attack, which would be whenever he decided to blow the horn a second time.

Along the walls of Burmecia, the mist-powered spell cannons were brought to the surface. Each one would be manned by a Black Mage and a defending Dragon Knight. Archers would line along the top of the walls as well.

The rogues took to the streets of Burmecia and hid themselves in the dark alleyways, crossbows and daggers at the ready. The Dragon Knights and foot soldiers filled the city streets, while those mages and knights assigned to the hidden passage were ready.

The hidden passage contained four chambers and five hallways. Each hallway had a series of deadly traps, and in each chamber waited ten Black Mages, two archers and four Dragon Knights, and right behind the hidden entrance stood five Black Mages, ready to blast anyone who opened the hidden passage with a combination of Flare and Meteor.

At the city center would be Vivius and a group of Black Mages, ready to summon forth their Eidolon, Burmecia's secret weapon should the attacking forces summon an Eidolon of their own or get too close to the Burmecia gates.

The Twinsword lowered her head. She heard the stories when she was younger, how Kuja destroyed Terra all those years ago, and even before that, with Terra trying to assimilate to Gaia. But is this what Cyril was trying to achieve? Twinsword thought about this before her attention was brought back to Freya.

"Now then, let's get going."

Twinsword nodded before being led to where they would take her to Burmecia. Freya took the driver's seat, while Annelise, who brought Ricard in, as well as Robert and Twinsword entering the carriage itself, ready to head on off back to Burmecia.

Alleria Stormseeker

"As you will," She said, respectfully bowing as Freya made her decision. Alleria knew her place well, and also that she had no say in the decision-making process. Merely an ambassador from Ipsen, her one true mission was to follow orders. A dull thought, but one she had been repeating in her mind for the most part.

She sheathed her blade, moving into the carriage after the group.

Cleyran Desert

“How could this be? I worked as hard as I could to get here only to be turned away?”

Noah was crushed beyond comprehension. The mission and proving himself were all he could think about and in return he has nothing. In the distance, two figures silently stalked him, sizing him up. The thieves were of average height, clothed in tan garments that complimented the yellow sands and covered their faces.

“Look at the garments on this one, they'll fetch a handsome sum of gil over in Lindblum.”

“Aye. With the amount of coin we fetch from this job, food will be the last of our worries for a while!”

“You stay here Matthias, this is a serious affair and I don't want you getting hurt.”

Taken aback, the shorter thief took off his mask, revealing a young face. He was barely a man, with little facial hair to speak of and innocent, blue eyes that had not seen the pain of combat.

“Yozef, be careful.”

“Hah, at ease brother. Don't you worry; we'll eat like kings tonight!”

Readying his weapon, a razor-sharp Scimitar; Yozef charged at his unsuspecting target.

“We need this...”

Dread loomed in the air, and a sense of uneasiness befell Noah. Cautiously scanning his surroundings, he pinpointed the cause of the tension. A bandit, closed in on the knight swiftly and with deadly intent in his eyes.

With dilated pupils and adrenaline pumping through him, Noah instinctively dropped his bag and unsheathed both swords, ready for battle. This would be his first real encounter with the intent on killing his foe and it showed. His blades shook terribly and he broke into a cold sweat. But he didn't have a choice, it was either be quick or be dead.

Yozef acted swiftly, slashing at his foe's short-sword in hopes of disarming him. Bracing himself, Noah positioned his long-sword upright to block the incoming blow. A loud clang echoed throughout the desert, followed by the scratching of swords in mortal combat.

Yozef applied pressure down on his blade but Noah broke free, repelling his advances and sending him careening to the ground. Regaining his composure, Yozef hopped up with sword in hand and attacked again, but his eagerness was ill-advised.

In the heat of the moment, fear, power, and visceral instinct flowing through him; Noah took advantage of Yozef's hasty opening and let out a strong battlecry. What followed was something neither party was ready for. A gasp. The sound of steel ripping through human flesh. And the loss of innocence in the distance.

Yozef couldn't believe what he was seeing. An intense, searing pain caused him to let out a sharp cry followed by an odd silence. Looking down at his wound, he saw a sword plunged into his chest. Every forced reach for air gave him nothing and caused more blood to trickle along the blade. Dropping to the floor in a dull thud, Yozef gave his killer one last look before it became impossible to see anything else.

The primal instinct of self-defense faded from Noah's eyes, morphing into a state of shock. The desperate look that had inhabited Yozef's expression was replaced with a feeling of hollowness. Reaching up to his face, Noah felt something warm coated his skin. Blood robbed of its host, its only source of solace, painted the aggressor’s face in shame. Meanwhile, the other figure disappeared into the distance, leaving trails of tears that eventually evaporated and became lost in the sea of sand.

Was this what it felt like to kill someone? To cut one's story short before it even began. It was something Noah couldn't even begin to comprehend.

(OOC: I worked for a while on this post, trying to deal with a serious theme/conflict without it coming off as cheesy or pretentious is very difficult so I apologize if it isn't up to standard.)

After being carried to the carriage, Ricard kept himself laid down, even though he was healed he had had a large piece of ice in his torso recently and had to wait for his energy to return before straining himself. Seeing everyone sat down in the carriage he tried to address them "I apologise, I suppose that protecting you just made me a burden on you all"

Shuffling himself against the carriage wall he managed to strain himself into a seated position and looked over to Twin Sword "If she's going to be a Prisoner of War, i'd suggest keeping her under my care, it's highly unlikely that she'll attack anyone, even if she wanted to i'd be able to stop her"

Ricard then turned his head slowly to Alleria "Good job out there, you managed to master your fear rather well in that last battle, just remember anything can be overcome" Ricard then let out a small chuckle "even me"

Coughing slightly he calmed himself down and turned his head to Annelise "If I may be so bold, could you bring a hot drink to me when we return? If any ice remains i'll want to melt them before they become a problem, and I assume sharing a room isn't an inconvenience to you?"

-----------------------------------------

Lucia, sat in a rather uncomfortable position yet still relatively numbed from the pain in her head looked up at King Puck "Yo, Pucky, think you can lend out some supplies so I can get to Lindblum?"

Falling onto her back Lucia pulled herself back up and tried to stand, after a wobbly attempt she stayed put on the floor.

Freya Crescent

As Freya's caravan cleared the gates of Burmecia, both she and Robert, along with everyone else in the carriage would here the alarm horn going off. "Looks like the scouts have spotted the enemy. They sure didn't waste time." Robert spoke to the group. "However, considering we've been anticipating their attack on Burmecia ever since Cleyra was taken, they will be quite lucky if they survive an assault against us." Robert spoke before he looked to Ricard, Annelise and Alleria.

"There's an airship bound for Alexandria that one group of refugees is bound for. If any of you still want to head back to Alexandria before this battle erupts, now's your chance. Twinblade must stay with us however. She is a prisoner of war, and King Puck will want to speak with her. If you all want to stay, I'll ask that Ricard remains with Twinblade to keep an eye on her." Robert suggested.

Freya dismounted from the rider seat to head to the other side of the carriage. "Alright, everyone out. The army is getting ready for battle. I'll lead you all to the throne room." Freya spoke with a calm yet firm tone of voice. Her mind was focused on what needed to be done. Last time, Burmecia was struck without warning, and her people almost obliterated from the face of Gaia. She wasn't going to let the tragedy of the Brahne War repeat itself. Burmecia was ready and well-prepared, and Oeilvert was about to see for itself what Hell on Gaia was going to be like. Freya hurried over to the castle. Robert would wait for the others before following, keeping an eye on Twinblade.

Annelise Steiner and the Twinsword

As the carriage sped off to Burmecia, Ricard was the first to speak. "I apologise, I suppose that protecting you just made me a burden on you all."

"If she's going to be a Prisoner of War, i'd suggest keeping her under my care, it's highly unlikely that she'll attack anyone, even if she wanted to i'd be able to stop her"

The Twinsword looked away from Ricard, shame and fear the dominant emotions evidently featured on her face. In all honesty, as Anne seemed to take note of, Ricard was right, it was highly unlikely that Twinsword would do anything that would endanger Ricard's life anymore than she already has done. However, the knight still did not trust her, she was after all, an Oeilverti Lord-General, one of the highest ranking officers in that nation.

"Good job out there, you managed to master your fear rather well in that last battle, just remember anything can be overcome. Even me."

Ricard was talking to Alleria, Annelise gave the Ipsen Knight a smile after that compliment. It takes a lot of guts to overcome fears, however she then thought about her own fears, more especially her fears of letting people down, failing to live up to their expectations. Her greatest fear, to fail to save an innocent life, to be so weak that everyone around her would call her a failure. That was what weakened that smiled before she too turned out to the window.

It was Ricard who snapped her out of it though. "If I may be so bold, could you bring a hot drink to me when we return? If any ice remains i'll want to melt them before they become a problem, and I assume sharing a room isn't an inconvenience to you?"

Anne looked at Ricard, a bit surprised (more so about the last part), but she said with a smile, "Sure..."

The warning sirens blared out over the streets of Burmecia as the carriage finally arrived at the city gates.

"What's going on?" Twinsword said as she covered her ears to block out the sound. Annelise already knew the situation, further explained by Robert.

"Looks like the scouts have spotted the enemy. They sure didn't waste time. However, considering we've been anticipating their attack on Burmecia ever since Cleyra was taken, they will be quite lucky if they survive an assault against us."

Twinsword looked at Robert, he seemed confident enough that they would achieve a victory, but the only difference was that it was well founded. Cleyra had the weakest military of the four nations, while Burmecia is credited for having the best ground force in the Mist Continent, and if he was right, in all of Gaia. But it was Oeilvert, and while 5 airships were not much, each ship carried at least about eight to ten thousand soldiers and their weapons with them.

"There's an airship bound for Alexandria that one group of refugees is bound for. If any of you still want to head back to Alexandria before this battle erupts, now's your chance. Twinblade must stay with us however. She is a prisoner of war, and King Puck will want to speak with her. If you all want to stay, I'll ask that Ricard remains with Twinblade to keep an eye on her."

Anne said to Robert, "I've never turned my back on you or your people, and I do not plan to start now."

Anne and the Twinsword exited the carriage, with Robert and Ricard escorting the Lord-General, all of them were now on their way to Burmecia Castle.

----
Puck I, King of Burmecia

A new set of guests arrived, that being Samuel, the Stadtholder of Cleyra, and his Genome escort.

"Hi Mister King. How are ya? I got Sam here." The Genome was immediately hit with the blunt end of the guard's lance

"You stand before King Puck, King of Burmecia."

"Aww. That's not nice. I just wanna say hi and all that. I did get Sam out of Clerya and all that. You could at least respect me enough not to hit me."

"It's been 3 years old friend. I wish we hadn't met under such troubling circumstances"
Samuel said, smiling at the King of Burmecia.

"Indeed, but I suppose it cannot be helped." Puck responded back, and then his attention turned at the other group that arrived earlier.

I'm Sorry for intruding but I have a few thing's to say,First off I sent word to Regent Cid and Queen Garnet Via Mognet,Second I found this girl wandering about the castle looking for the throne room from what I understood from her low toned voice,so I brought her here.

And third I would like to offer any more help I can...

"Yo, Pucky, think you can lend out some supplies so I can get to Lindblum?"

The King looked at the two and spoke clearly at them. "First off, I appreciate the offer and I am willing to accept any help possible. We will need all the support we can get to get us past this crisis. Unfortunately..." The King's attention shifted to the female. "Due to the present circumstances, including the relocating of all Cleyran refugees to Lindblum and Alexandria, I'm afraid we will not be able to give you any supplies at this time. Finally, I want to know what you have informed Queen Garnet and Regent Cid."

Robert Crescent
Freya Crescent

"Thanks Annelise. I know I can count on you. And after all of this, I still want to see how much you've been progressing in your skills." Robert said with a coy tone of voice.

Robert's confidence wasn't just in the ground forces of Burmecia. If the enemy decided to transport the soldiers into Burmecia by airship, then they would end up being fish in a barrel for the Dragon Riders, Burmecia's equivalent to an air force. And the spell cannons covered a good 1000 yards of distance. and were lined along the walkways of the wall. Any approach was going to be dangerous. And should the enemy have an Eidolon or not, Burmecia had one of their own, and perhaps a rather fitting one at that given Burmecia's rise from the ashes after the Brahne War and Kuja Crisis.

Freya entered into the throne room along with Robert and the others. "Your majesty. We have succeeded in our mission. We have also brought you a prisoner from the Oeilvert forces." Freya spoke before standing aside. Robert would lead Twinblade to the king. Robert wouldn't bring any harm upon her, but he would expect the woman to kneel before King Puck. If she didn't, he'd tap the back of her leg with the shaft of his lance as a subtle reminder.

"If you wish, you can get aboard one of the docked airships to retreat with your people. The ships will bring the people back to Cleyra once the battle has subsided. For now, I must take my leave and get our troops ready for combat. By your leave."

"I think I'll do that. It was nice meeting you Lan. Tell the others in your group that I appreciate their aid in my escape from Clerya." Samuel said as he left the throne room.

"I'll do that. Just be careful out there." Lan replied as he watched the Cleryian man leave. Turning back to Puck after seeing the others come, Lan smiled.

"Is there anything else that needs to be done? I would like to try and sneak into their army using their gear as cover if I can." Lan asked.

Using the door of the carriage as support, Ricard pulled himself to his feet, almost losing his balance when he stepped off "obviously i'm not going anywhere like this..." before he could try and force himself to move, Twin Sword stepped off the carriage beside him and took his hand, smiling lightly at him before placing his arm over her shoulder

Without a word she, more out of stubbornness than strength carried the heavier Ricard in the direction of the throne room, upon reaching there her strength left her, bringing her down to one knee and taking Ricard with her "S-Sorry Ricard..."

"Due to the present circumstances, including the relocating of all Cleyran refugees to Lindblum and Alexandria, I'm afraid we will not be able to give you any supplies at this time."

"Ugh, whatever..." Lucia stood up, recovering somewhat from her hangover and turned away with her arms crossed, eyes closed in thought as she heard the sounds of footsteps approaching the throne room.

Seeing a group of soldiers heading inside, Lucia eyed them up. In view she saw two Burmecians, an Alexandrian soldier and a young girl carrying a wounded man. From the group the girl caught her eye and her interest only strengthened upon hearing she was a prisoner of war. Having an idea she walked over to the Alexandrian soldier, at this point she recognised her face from before. "Hey there cutie, remember me? Why don't you come alone with me!"

Without waiting for a response Lucia grabbed her arm and dragged her out of the throne room, once she got her outside she pressed her to the wall "So, what's going on? Didn't seem like a social call in there"

Aaron:..Of course though I had expected Lord Fratley to have told you already..

Aaron Stand's up and look's up to the King of Burmecia.

Aaron:I don't know too much of the situation,I only came to this region to see the man known as Amarant to try and become a knight of Alexandria, due to that We uncovered a Old Mirror that Amarant and a Female Burmecian Knight knew about,I was ordered to bring it here and hand it off to You or Lord Fratley and not to let a soul otherwise have it,on my way here the group that was escorting me was attacked by a strange woman wielding a Scythe..

I was forced to let them fight on their own the woman quickly defeated the 2 soldier's that stayed behind and came after us again..The Captain of the Squad stayed behind to fight while I escaped to this City to complete my mission...I..Don't know if any of them even survived the assault..

After which I sent two letter's to Queen Garnet and Regent Cid saying that there is a group after the 4 mirror's that connect this world to Terra..Due to recent event's I'm putting aside my Goal of becoming a Knight and focusing on helping in any way possible to stop this group from going to my homeworld if it even exist's anymore..

Aaron stand's and wait's for the king's responce to my report

Smiling in response to Annelise and Ricard's praise, Alleria gazed out of the window. Truth be told, when the action starting getting more intense, her fears vanished. She no longer realized that she even feared heights in the first place, or that it was even there prior to the battle.

It was almost as if it were a feeling of zen on the battlefield. Alleria smiled softly, realizing in retrospect that she had far surpassed her expectation of herself.

Alleria folded her arms and looked to Annelise.

"I've never turned my back on you or your people, and I do not plan to start now."

Shrugging, she adds,"As she says. I follow the Alexandrian Knight."

That said, the group began to exit the carriage, and Alleria followed closely. Upon entering the throne room, Alleria starting feeling the butterflies. Battles filled her with excitement, but the red tape always made her nervous. Following behind the group quietly, she knelt on cue, and basically kept silent as the conversations started.

Annelise entered the throne room to the Kingdom of Burmecia as the King was talking to two other individuals and knelt down beside the others, including the Twinsord who fell onto her knees trying to carry Ricard over.

"Your majesty. We have succeeded in our mission. We have also brought you a prisoner from the Oeilvert forces."

Annelise added, "Your majesty, if I may add, she is a Lord-General, apparently one of Oeilvert's military commanders."

The King stood up and walked up towards the Twinsword. The King knelt down and held her head up, looking at the officer, she looked no younger in human years than most of the other humans or Genomes that came here. "You may all rise." The King said as he stood up and walked back to the throne with his hands on his back. Anne stood up and saluted him in the traditional Alexandrian salute before standing at ease.

"We have achieved our first part of our objective. But we have troubling news. Our spies have sighted the Oeilvert military. It appears they have sent in reinforcements in 5 airships to begin their invasion of Burmecia." Looking at Aaron he said to the group, "This Knight has managed to ensure that Oeilvert had made little gains in their campaign. With his help, we were able to acquire what Oeilvert was searching for, the Elemental Mirrors."

"The Elemental Mirrors?" Anne asked, confused over what he meant by that.

"The Elemental Mirrors are the items required to open the barrier to Terra." Twinsword said, "Lord Cyril said that he planned to use those mirrors to open the gate to the Promised Land. I didn't know what he meant by that and he never explained it to me or the other Lord-Generals."

"Well I don't know if that is his true intentions, and no one intends to find out, therefore our objective will be to defend the mirrors. We hold in our possession the Earth Elemental Mirror from Cleyra and the Water Mirror which was entrusted to us. Therefore it is imperative that they remain in our hands throughout the battle."

"Freya..." King Puck turned towards Freya, "you will lead defense of the city and the walls, try to keep them away from the castle as much as possible. Fratley will lead the defense of the castle itself."

Theme-Wandering Soul

Just as Puck was continuing to give orders Anne looked at a familiar face, it was the woman she helped to the inn, and involuntarily kissed.

"Hey there cutie, remember me? Why don't you come alone with me!"

"W-Wait, what? HEY!" The woman grabbed her by the arm and was dragged to a dark corner outside the throne room. There she was pressed against the wall, the knight too red in the face from the awkwardness of the situation.

"So, what's going on? Didn't seem like a social call in there"

"W-We're trying to d-defend Burmecia, w-why?" Anne said, stuttering at the woman, too flustered to respond or doing anything to defend herself in this situation.
----
Puck turned towards the knight, who then decided, "Robert, Sir Knight, I want you to assist Sir Fratley in the defense of the castle, the city nor the mirrors, must fall into enemy hands."

"W-We're trying to d-defend Burmecia, w-why?"

Lucia giggled cheekily at Annelise's response "you have no idea how cute you look right now... It's very... Alluring" Lucia added flirtatiously "maybe I should help out, i've certainly got my eye on you, of course if you refuse..." Lucia then loosened the top button of her cloak, teasing Annelise "I may have to find some other means of peruasion..."

Lucia then slowly licked her lips, stepping forward so she was firmly pressed against Annelise's armoured body "I do like shy types, after all"

"Robert, Sir Knight, I want you to assist Sir Fratley in the defense of the castle, the city nor the mirrors, must fall into enemy hands."

Aaron:Very well,I'll do my best to help defend your city,I'll be sure to follow order's as well..

He look's over to the two Burmecian Knight's.

Aaron:Well one..It's nice to see you again...uhh Freya was it..?I'd like to thank you for the escort they were brave men who took their mission to heart..

And I guess we'll be working together through this..I'm not too good at picking where I should go,so I'll follow the order's of Lady Freya,Lord Fratley,or Robert since you seem to be the most experienced people in this kingdom.

Tell me where to go and I'll defend that spot with my life..

Aaron look's over at the two knight's with resolve in his eye's showing how determined he is..
